Engraving has traditionally been reserved for very special guns, a way to set a highly prized personal possession or gift aside from the everyday pack. All the way from highly ornate and unique presentation pieces, through standardized patterns, to merely a name and a date; artistic engraving can add beauty to any gun, along with value and heirloom historicity. Engraved 1860's period Henry rifles are very rare, and extremely desirable to collectors. Recognizing that, Henry Repeating Arms is offering the "Original Henry Rifle" in a very distinctive Limited Edition, One-of-1000 version that duplicated the style and quality of a highly-engraved masterpiece of the gun-maker’s art from a long-gone era. The first limited edition run of 1000 Henry Original Deluxe Engraved rifles sold out very quickly, with Serial Number 1 being sold at the NRA Foundation’s auction for $83,000. Henry has decided to do a second 1000 production run of this outstanding reproduction of the original Henry rifle. It features an engraving pattern executed by master engraver Rob Bunting of a classic American scroll pattern. The pattern is duplicated on both sides of the hardened brass frame, and is cut, not molded, and then hand chased. Other features include a fancy American walnut stock, 24.5" octagon barrel with high gloss bluing, folding ladder rear sight, front blade sight, crescent polished brass buttplate and half cock safety. This gun appears to be unfired in box with paperwork and appears to be in perfect working order.
