The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9th March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today after 50 years. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. The 1966 Ford Mustang 289 ci Coupe offered here is described by the vendor as a very good example of this iconic car. It was imported from Florida in 2013 and was then restored in the UK. Restoration work includes new rear road springs, brake system, brake booster pipes & hoses, rear wheel cylinders, front disc brakes, cooling radiator & hoses, water pump & thermostat, Welland intake manifold, Holley 600 cfm carb, Petronix electronic ignition, full stainless Magnaflo exhaust. There is a copy of the U.S title with the car showing family ownership in U.S. The vendor has owned the car for last 12 months.
