ONLINE BIDDING INFO

Lot # 0

WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYMENT THROUGH THE MAIL. PLEASE READ TERMS & CONDITIONS.. This is an Online Only "Timed Auction" with a "soft closing" and the only way to bid is throug...moreh ProxiBid. When Lot #1 goes "Live" at 10:00am CST, there will be a 60- second time clock that will reset every time a new bid is placed. Once there has been no bids for a full 60 seconds, that lot will close. TWO NEW LOTS WILL GO "LIVE" EVERY 60 SECONDS. The software WILL NOT WAIT until one lot has closed before starting the 60-second time clock on the next lots. THERE WILL BE MULTIPLE LOTS SELLING AT THE SAME TIME throughout the day. The best way to participate is to leave "Max Bids" and let the software do the bidding for you. ProxiBid software executes the max bids, NOT THE AUCTION COMPANY, and will only bid for you up to your Max Bid price, if needed. For Example, if you leave a Max Bid on an item for $800 and that item only gets bid up to $400, you only pay $400. If you want to raise your "Max Bid", the software will not let you raise your current bid. This software is designed to work for you, not against you. It simply executes your bids competitively, just as if you were bidding yourself. Also note that "Live Bidding" problems can happen. For example, a slow internet connection or multiple people trying to bid at once can affect the speed at which you are viewing the auction and an item may sell before you are able to bid. So, once again, if you have not left Max Bids as a backup, you could miss out.

RARE 1912 Colt SAA "Bisley Model", 32 S&W, Revolver (W/ Letter), SN - 323011

Lot # 1

This highly desirable Colt "Bisley Model" Single Action Army Revolver is chambered for .32 S&W. The Colt Bisley (1894–1912) was introduced as an accurate target pistol. T...morehe name Bisley came from the famous firing range in Bisley, England. It was produced in many popular calibers, but only very few in .32 S&W. The .32 S&W Single Action Army was made on special orders only. The Colt Bisley can be distinguished by the longer grip, the wider hammer spur, and the wider trigger. Bisleys were serial-numbered in the range of 156300–331916, in the same sequence as the Single Action Army. All Bisleys after No. 161,376 had "BISLEY MODEL" with the caliber stamped on the left side of the barrel which is rare for older Colt revolvers. The most common were in the American calibers of .32-20, .38-40, .45 Colt, .44-40, .41 Long Colt and also in the British calibers of .450 Eley and .455 Eley. A total number of 44,350 were manufactured. Production of the Bisley was terminated in 1912, but serial No. 331916 was shipped after the First World War. This gun is numbers matching - frame, trigger guard, frame butt, grips & cylinder. The loading gate is stamped "981" but is certainly factory and appears to be period correct. According to the Colt Archives Department, this "Bisley Model" left the factory on June 11, 1912, in a shipment of "1" to "H.L. Smith". Factory records also indicate that this gun was originally assembled in 32-20 caliber and the special factory re-chambering was most likely done sometime between 1912 & 1920. (Colt did not keep records for guns sent back for re-chambering). It is also very likely that the loading gate was replaced at the time of the 32 S&W update. The Bisley Model was offered in 4.75", 5.5" & 7.5" barrel lengths. This gun sports a 7.5" barrel which is the most desirable to a collector. The finish retains much of the original bluing (no re-bluing or restoration has been done), and the original black hard rubber checkered grips with embossed Rampant Colt are in excellent condition. The bore is shiny & clean with excellent deep rifling (no pitting). This gun has nice timing and appears to be in good working order; however, the hammer's "4th click" is very soft and may need some adjustment. The consignor of this gun purchased it at a local gun store in Tennessee in the early 1970s, and it has never been offered at public auction. This is a very rare opportunity to purchase an original Colt "Bisley Model" chambered in .32 S&W on a "No-Reserve" auction. Even the top Colt Collectors are missing a .32 S&W Bisley in their collection.

Lot # 2

This Browning Superposed Lightning was made in Belgium in 1970 (SN "S" = 12 ga. "70" = 1970) and sports 26.5" ported barrels choked for **S/ **S (SKEET/ SKEET). This gun ...morecomes with a full set of 6 Kolar AAA sub-gauge tubes - (2) 20 gauge, (2) 28 gauge and (2) 410 gauge. All tubes are marked "U014", no choke markings present. Other features include a glossed walnut stock with deep cut outlined checkering/ adjustable comb & contoured forearm, ribbed brown rubber buttpad with black/ white spacers, engraved receiver with floral pattern, gold trigger, serrated vent-rib with dual bead sights, tang safety/ barrel selector, dual extractors, 2 3/4" chambers and 14.25" LOP. This gun is in nice condition with some light wear and appears to be in good working order. The Kolar AAA/Sub-Gauge Inserts are designed to maximize sub-gauge performance and pattern efficiency. Max AAAs are matched weight and balanced, and they feature extra-long forcing cones and over-boring. CNC honing ensures precise bore sizing, perfect concentricity, and exact P.O.I. This gun also comes in an aluminum lockable luggage gun case with a folding compartment for the tubes. The Browning Superposed is a Belgian over-under shotgun that was produced from 1931 until 1986. The pre-World War II Superposed was offered in 12-gauge only, with the exception of special orders. The 20-gauge version first became available in the 1949 catalog. Barrels ranged from 26.5” to 30” for the 12-gauge and 26.5” or 28” for the 20-gauge. The 1950s saw the introduction of various sub-models of the gun. Hunting models (Trap- and Skeet-specific models also became available), such as a Lightning version that was lighter than the standard models. Every Superposed (standard & sub models) was hand-engraved in Belgium. The 1960s saw the full introduction of a 28 gauge and .410 models and a Lightning version of the Trap model. Between 1970 and 1976, the cost of a Belgian-made Superposed more than doubled, due to rising labor and manufacturing costs. This opened the door for Browning's less expensive alternative to the Superposed, the Citori, which was produced at the Miroku, Japan plant.

The pistol was widely copied, and this operating system rose to become the pre-eminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern centerfire pistols. The pistol served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1985, and is widely regarded by gun historians as the best firearm design to date. Battlefield experience in World War I led to some small external changes to the M1911. Completed in 1924, the new version was called the M1911A1.

1863 Colt M1851 Navy, .36 Percussion Revolver (Numbers Matching), SN - 170155

Lot # 7

According to the Colt Archives serial number database, this Model 1851 Navy .36 caliber revolver was made in 1863. This gun is visible numbers matching and sports a 7.5" ...moreoctagon barrel marked "ADDRESS COL. SAM L COLT NEW-YORK U.S.A. AMERICA". This gun has lost most of the original bluing but appears to be in original condition and still retains a sharp bore with some light pitting. The cylinder is correctly marked "PATENT NO. 0155" but has lost all roll-stamped engravings. This gun appears to be in good working order. The Colt Model 1851 Navy is a cap and ball revolver that was designed by Samuel Colt between 1847 and 1850. Colt first referred to this Revolver as the Ranger Size model and then Revolving Belt, but the designation "Navy" quickly took over. The Colt Navy remained in production until 1873, being replaced in the Colt line with what would become one of the manufacturer's most famous handguns, the Colt Single Action Army. The six-round .36-caliber Navy revolver was much lighter than the contemporary Colt Dragoon Revolvers developed from the .44 Walker Colt revolvers of 1847, which, given their size and weight were generally carried in saddle holsters. The Model 1851 Navy became very popular in North America at the time of Western expansion. It was used extensively throughout the U.S. Civil War and most commonly issued to cavalry and artillery units. Famous "Navy" users included Wild Bill Hickok, William Buffalo Bill Cody, John Henry "Doc" Holliday and Ulysses S. Grant.

The P.38 also introduced a visible and tactile loaded chamber indicator in the form of a metal rod that protrudes from the rear of the slide when a round is chambered. During WWII, the P.38 was produced by three separate manufacturers: Walther, Mauser, and Spreewerk. To conceal manufacturer identities, each wartime manufacturer used a letter code: ac (Walther); byf (Mauser), and cyq (Spreewerk).

1906 Colt Single Action Army (7.5"), 32 W.C.F., Revolver, SN - 287995

Lot # 15

According to the Colt Archives serial number database, this Single Action Army (SAA) .32 Winchester Center Fire (W.C.F.) revolver was made in 1906 (first generation). Thi...mores gun is visible numbers matching (frame, trigger guard & butt) and sports a 7.5" barrel marked "COLT'S F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.". This gun has lost all of the original bluing and the smooth wooden grips are modern replacements. This gun appears to be in excellent working order and still retains a nice sharp bore. The Single Action Army (SAA) revolver, or "Peacemaker", is the gun that has defined the Colt name for over 150 years. Three times the company has tried to discontinue this revolver in order to focus its business on more modern arms, and three times the demand from people from all over the world has compelled Colt to bring it back into production. It was designed for the U.S. government service revolver trials of 1872, and was adopted as the standard-issued pistol of the U.S. Army from 1873 until 1892. The revolver was dubbed the "Peacemaker" in the American Wild West era, due to its popularity with ranchers, lawmen, and outlaws alike. George S. Patton, who began his career in the horse-cavalry, carried a custom-made SAA with ivory grips engraved with his initials and an eagle, which became his trademark. He used it during the Mexican Punitive Expedition of 1916 in a gunfight with two of Pancho Villa's lieutenants and carried it until his death in 1945. Whether used to protect and defend, an ersatz hammer to pound fence staples or in John Wayne's holster, the Colt Single Action Army defines early American culture.
