1968 Ford Shelby GT-350

Lot # 278S (Sale Order: 77 of 143)

The owner of this 1968 Shelby GT 350 may well be the most dedicated Carroll Shelby fan you will ever meet. He knew Shelby personally and is a devoted collector of Shelby memorabilia with hundreds of autographed items from mugs used by Shelby to helmets, jackets and signed photographs. His collection includes the valuable files from the original Shelby American company that produced the Cobra and LeMan’......s winning Daytona coupes. In the end, the real prize of his Shelby collections may well be the 1968 Shelby GT 350 he has owned for nearly 50 years. He obtained the car in a trade. It was really just a shell with no engine. In a labor of devotion the car underwent a lengthy restoration although it might be better to say it was rebuilt to the highest standards with an emphasis on performance and handling. So this is no ordinary Shelby GT 350, this car has been beefed up to deliver performance. The engine is a 351-C Boss V8 with 4 Bolt Mains. This engine now delivers an impressive 539.6 HP with a high 11.5-1 compression ratio. The valve covers are the original Shelby lettered versions. The engine is feed by Webber 48 I.D.A. carburetors through a Shelby lettered intake manifold. This car is built to withstand the rigors of competition. The transmission is a Richmond Bullet Proof 5 speed. The rear end features a 4 pinion Traction Lock differential. Special competition Wilwood racing disc brakes are used on all 4 corners. Aluminum American Racers wheels are used with small number Goodyear tires to achieve maximum grip. The fastback body is done in a dramatic Jade Green Metallic paint with a Shelby GT 350 strip on the sides and all the Shelby lettering and badges. The black interior includes Mach 1 bucket seats. A frequent competitor at local drag strips the car’......s best time in the quarter mile is 11.91 at 123 miles per hour. At the same time the car is a consistent winner at Shelby American Automobile Club meetings all over the country. It is impossible to list all the SAAC Popular Car Show awards this Shelby has won over many years. As a show winner this Shelby GT 350 has graced the cover of the SAAC magazine and has been featured in a number of magazines including Hot Rod, Mustang Illustrated and Fabulous Mustangs. It has even been a television star appearing in the series, “......The Exciting World of Speed and Beauty.”...... The owner has extensively documented the life of this car so its history will be included for its new owner. With incredible performance and a near perfect body this car is an opportunity to own the ultimate Shelby memorabilia. In fact the car comes with Carroll Shelby’......s autograph on the glove box. ESTIMATE: $90,000 $110,000

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

Lot # 279S (Sale Order: 78 of 143)

1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air 283ci Power-Pak Dual Quad / Dual Bath / Bat-Wing Air Cleaner Power Steering Power Brakes Power Top Designer: Clare Mackichan Chassis Number: VC57B132527 Decoded: V=V8 engine; C=Belair Series; 57=1957; B=Baltimore MD< assembly, 132527=Serial Engine: 283 cid OHV “......small-block”...... V8 2X4-barrel Carburetors/245 bhp 2-Speed Powerglide Automatic Transmission Power Assisted Four Wheel Hydraulic Drum Brakes Most Iconic 1950’......s American Car Professional Level of Restoration and Detailing Dual Four-Barrel Intake with Hydraulic Lifters The Model: In early 1955, just as the quickly re-worked the 1956 Chevrolets had been finalized, work was started on the 1957 edition. Corporate HQ had already dictated that 1957 would have to be face-lift of the 1956, that’......s all that was in the budget. Rumors were flying that the other two members of the low-priced three would have brand new cars with ground-breaking designs. Mackichan’......s team went to work and the finished product was a master-piece. Only because Ford pushed to produce and dump low-line models on their dealers, did the best Chevrolet’......s numbers, and then only by a slim margin. The iconic look of the Chevrolet, with its impressive and beautiful up-front grille and bumper design, the the finely crafted and distinctive side trim, made the 1957 Belair and instant classic. To celebrate this new look the popular small-block V8 introduced in 1955, was enlarged to 283 cubic inches and came in six flavors of horsepower. From the base two-barrel, the Power-Pack 4-barrel, a pair of dual four-barrel engines and another pair of V8’......s with fuel-injection, made Chevrolet the car performance minded buyers most often turned to. Top of the lne was the Belair convertible with 47,562 being produced. The Car: Color is everything with cars from the 1950’......s. While some collectors can only see red, it takes a true patron of beauty to look at the wide range offered from the palette offered by the 1957 Chevrolet. This stunning example is finished in Colonial Cream, a light yellow that is accented with seat bolsters finished in matching vinyl complimented by silver vinyl inserts. Showing just over 90,000 miles, which are believed to be from new, this car has been lightly used and always kept in top condition. A new top was recently added and it was recently re-worked to accept lead-free gas pumping through those dual four-barrel carbs. While the bat-wing style air-cleaner is the center of attraction under the hood, the entire engine compartment has been restored to better-than-new in appearance and function. The interior is well appointed with factory AM radio, heater-defroster and clock with even the luggage compartment looking fresh and new. This 1957 Belair convertible is really a cut-above the regular crowd in its appearance, performance and iconic design. This Tri-Five has gone through an extensive body-on frame-up restoration and is absolutely stunning! Drive it anywhere and take yourself back to a time of American pride and opulence.

1934 Harley-Davidson VLD

Lot # 280S (Sale Order: 79 of 143)

Harley-Davidson, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, began producing motorcycles in the first decade of the 20th century. Production began with three motorcycles in 1905 and rose to 1100 by 1909. The company produced 20,000 motorcycles for the army in World War I, and by the 1920s, yearly production was in the 20-28,000 range, with exports to 60 countries around the world. The crash of 1929 and the resulting world-wide economic depression was a catastrophe for Harley-Davidson. By 1933, the company was on a two-day work week and total yearly production was less than 4000 motorcycles. A drastic change was needed to save the company from failure and that change was the new, for 1934, VL model. The new VL series was powered by a brand new “......Big Twin”...... –...... this was a “......Powerful Dynamic TNT Motor”...... of 74 cubic inch that produced 36 bhp & 4600 rpm. It reverted to a side-valve engine design for ease of construction, simpler maintenance, and improved reliability. This new engine was installed in a frame with traditional, for the era, suspension, but the other significant change was in the appearance of the VL line, which took its inspiration from the Art Deco movement of the time. The new VL models featured “......air-flo”...... styling with “......magnificent colors in numerous combinations”...... all melded together to produce a “......spic and span, trim and modern”...... motorcycle. But the new engine, with modern styling and Harley’......s “......Pay-As-You-Ride”...... finance plans, and the new model was a sales success, with approximately 7500 produced in 1934. This motorcycle’......s original owner was Francis Romaine –...... apparently, he was a man with a great deal of mechanical skills. He had his own workshop and took very good care of his Harley. Upon his death, his aunt cleaned out his house and sold the motorcycle to its current owner in 1978 in a partially disassembled, but complete condition. Realizing the reassembly was beyond his capabilities, the new owner stored the cycle for the next few years. Sometimes it was in the spare bedroom of a friend’......s house (apparently a very understanding friend!) until the present owner acquired a house with a garage. Now the motorcycle had a place of its own where it was carefully parked and covered with blankets. And there it sat –...... aside from the few times when the blankets were removed and the owner imagined it rebuilt and running, its odometer moving again past the 7897 miles that were on it. Recently, a suitable expert was found; the cycle was uncovered and taken to the restoration shop for an evaluation of its condition. The results were hard to believe: the original factory-custom two-tone paint was in fine condition as were all the original factory decals and tags. Also present were the original factory exhaust and air cleaner (very rare), original Harley windshield/fairing, and saddlebags. The seat and pedals were also apparently original. Surprisingly, it appeared the tires are the originals as well. Mechanically, the clutch and transmission were in excellent condition, and upon examination, the cylinder barrels needed only a light hone, not a rebore. In examining the pistons (which are a split-ring design), it was determined that the motorcycle was most likely built in the first six months of VLD production. Included with the cycle are various paper materials, including registration, a letter from Harley-Davidson to the original owner, and a 1934 sales brochure. There are also some miscellaneous vintage parts in their original boxes. In the collector vehicle market, a fairly recent trend is what is known as Preservation vehicles. These are sometimes referred to as “......Barn Find”...... cars, but there is a difference –...... barn find vehicles can be, and frequently are, derelict, abandoned, and decrepit. They can be resurrected and made mobile, but they will still retain the well-worn, neglected, and shabby paint, chrome, and interior that they were found with. This motorcycle, on the other hand, is an outstanding example of a preserved vehicle. The winning bidder will have a difficult decision –...... keep it as it is or take it for a ride for the first time in over 60 years. Either way, it will be a fine example to add to a serious collection. Estimate $90,000 - $110,000

The styling of the 1954 Ford line-up had been largely unchanged since 1952. Even though 1955 would mark a dramatic styling change, Ford decided to create the rather audacious Skyliner. The audacity came from front half of the roof of the 2-door hardtop being made of green tinted acrylic glass. Ford proclaimed it gave the passengers a, “......freshness of view.”......, as they went down the road. It had all the advantage of a convertible without the wind blowing everything around. In 1954 Ford 13, 144 examples of which we are offering a fine example for auction. The white exterior is highlighted by the black and white interior with vinyl seating. * 239 Cid V-8 145 hp * 3 speed automatic * Glass top with curtain ESTIMATE: $40,000 - $55,000

1957 Chrysler 300C

Lot # 286S (Sale Order: 85 of 143)

A special and rare survivor, this is one of 18 Chrysler 300Cs produced in 1957 with an optional performance package designed for NASCAR competition. Of those 18 cars only three survive to this day and this unrestored 300C remains as a unique example of the very first muscle cars. The other cars are the “......mule”...... Chrysler used to engineer this special run and the other is in New Zealand and restored. Big and very fast these cars were a sensation during the mid-Fifties. Chrysler 300s were so named because the original models delivered 300 horses. The car consigned to this auction put out significantly more power. Featuring the famed V8 392 cu.in. “......hemi”...... engine this Chrysler was modified with larger exhaust manifolds and pipes and a Snyder roller camshaft installed by Chrysler. The horsepower was increased from 375 to 390. The exhaust system still has hand made metal part numbers welded to the pipes to pass NASCAR inspection. On the dash a large tachometer is installed in the middle where the clock normally sits, another giveaway this car was intended for competition. The heavy-duty suspension was also as revolutionary as the hemi engine because Chrysler used torsion bars to provide a stiffer suspension than normal in the era. At 4600 lbs. this is a big car so the drum brakes were large and the best of their day but not up to the standards of disc brakes. A unique air scoop under the headlights helped cool the front brakes. The three-speed stick shift is a replacement for the original but is a Chrysler NPG all-synchromesh three speed built in 1967 and purchased from a local NASCAR racer. These original muscle cars are a memorable sight on the road with their sweeping rear fenders and substantial front grill. A two-door coupe, this 300C has been repainted in its original black and the interior is in beige leather. The car is unrestored but has been carefully stored since 1984 in a dry urethane insulated garage that has no dew point and helps prevent rust. Purchase by the current owner in the early 1960s, this car only 61,000 actual miles on the odometer. The long time owner is a nationally recognized authority on these cars and a show judge for Chrysler 300s. ESTIMATE: $140,000 - $165,000

1957 Lincoln Mark II

Lot # 290S (Sale Order: 89 of 143)

2 Door Hardtop Only 40,706 Actual Miles! Spectacular condition. One of only 444 produced. Fitted with EVERY option, including rare and desired factory air conditioning (1 of 98) and padded dash (very rare). We are proud to offer this museum quality Mark II to the most astute collector, investor or enthusiast who understands the rarity and investment potential of this great American motorcar. At this year’......s 2017 New York Auto Show, this car was displayed and made headlines. Photographers and writers flocked to it. Bloomberg.com listed and pictured it in their “......Best In Class”...... feature and gave it honor by naming it “......Class President”....... It went on to say “......It doesn't get classier than this vintage whip from Ford Motor's budding luxury brand.”...... It was also featured on the website of the prestigious Automobile Magazine and numerous other international publications. In addition, this was a feature car in the Saratoga Auto Museums Collection this summer. This timeless beauty is one of the last American cars to be handcrafted, discontinued partly because they were too expensive to manufacture. In 1957, there were only 444 built including power steering, brakes, windows including vent windows, power seats, AM Town & Country radio, power antenna and a self-regulating clock. Purchased new, it eclipsed even the Rolls Royce as it retailed for the whopping price tag of $10,000 at that time and was delivered in a fleece-lined canvas envelope to protect its finish while in transit. Even at that price, Ford lost $1,000 per vehicle. This Mark II is muscled by a 368 CI engine which was specially made, blue printed and balanced for this model and breathes via dual exhaust. It also includes a 3 Speed Automatic Transmission. The finest, butter soft, handcrafted “......Bridge of Weir”...... Scottish leather throughout the interior adds to the luxury of an already deluxe, smooth ride. John Reinhart was the chief stylist. Famed auto designer Gord Buehrig of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Co. was chief body engineer and the man responsible for the stainless steel pipes and the long lower look. There have been three meticulous owners of this beauty. The most recent of which owned it for 27 years during which it was driven less than 5,000 miles. Maintained in like-new pristine condition for 60 years and remains immaculate with all gauges working. The recipient of numerous Best of Show awards in competitive arenas with up to 600 cars participating, she also won Third Place at Hershey. Maintained for years in as-new condition (with an open checkbook) by East Coast Restorations in Long Island, NY. This is truly one of the best that you can find. It’......s original owner, Edward Gaylord was a visionary and devoted auto enthusiast. He and his brother owned Gaylord Concept Cars, an outstanding industry automotive leader. Their company built leading-edge prototype automobiles for Detroit’......s Big 3. Other famous owners of the Continental include Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Louis Prima, Barry Goldwater, Frank Sinatra, Nelson Rockefeller, Spike Jones and the Shah of Iran. This is one of the rarest of the 444 1957 Continental Mark II’......s built. This car has had one quality repaint and no bodywork or rust. It is a true mint original, better than a barn find because each of its owner’......s commitments to retain its as-new presentation. Winning bidder also receives Manuals accumulated by past owners. •...... Data Book •...... Owner’......s Manual •...... Service Information Manual •...... Technical Data Manual •...... Lot # 300S (Sale Order: 99 of 143)

Looking cool or going fast, the hot rodders’...... dilemma. For the owner of this roadster, there is no dilemma as the car is a winner in both categories. At the heart of the ’......33 is a GM Performance 502 making 450bhp and massive amounts of torque. This very strong engine is backed up with a Turbo 350, modified with a 3000 rpm stall converter. Gears are changed with a B&M shifter and the power then goes to a 9”...... Ford rear end equipped with 4:11 gears that turn oversize Hoosier tires on custom wheels. The wheelie bars on the back are an added touch that shows this a very serious street rod. Contemporary street rods with modern features (“......crate”...... engines, a.c., power steering and brakes, billet wheels and accessories, etc.) still strive for “......The Look”...... as it was in the early 1950s. The look on a roadster includes a raked and lowered windshield, maybe with a removable hard top (a Carson top), a set of “......big and littles”...... This roadster has all of that and reflects what a modern street rod should be…......oh, yes, don’......t forget to check out the steering wheel. ESTIMATE: $55,000 - $65,000
