1939 American Austin Bantam

Lot # S330 (Sale Order: 30 of 67)

  • 1939 AMERICAN BANTAM MODEL 60 SPEEDSTER 1939 American Bantam Speedster featured in a dashing two-tone Maroon and Silver combination with a Duesenberg-like sweep panel on each side, the car looks every bit like a diminutive American classic. The interior is matching Maroon with contrasting grey piping and grey carpets. According to the AACA Museum, the American Bantam motorcars were manufactured in Butler, PA, from 1938 to 1940. They were a descendant of the American Austin, manufactured at the same location from 1930 through 1933. American Austin filed for bankruptcy and was later purchased and re-opened under the name American Bantam, by Roy S. Evans. The cars were touted as an economy car, offering up to 60 mpg. The 45 cubic-inch inline four-cylinder engine with updraft carburetor produced approximately 20 horsepower. The transmission is a three-speed, with synchromesh, manufactured by Warner. The Speedster is one of 13 body styles that were offered. Of this body style, there were approximately 323 vehicles produced from 1939 through 1940. This car is one of very few surviving Speedsters and it has been completely restored to the highest Concours standards. Although small in size and power, the Bantam is simple, reliable, and a delight to drive. It is every inch a classic in an easy to manage size.

1954 Chevrolet Corvette

Lot # S331 (Sale Order: 31 of 67)

  • 1954 Chevy Corvette • Serial number E54S003171 • Built at the new St. Louis production plant • 1 of 100 finished in Sportsman Red • Red interior • Frame off restored and in new condition • 235/150 HP Blue Flame inline-6 engine • Triple Carter side draft carburetion • Chromed bullet air cleaners • One of the finest in the world • Dual exhaust tips • Powerglide automatic transmission • Center-dash instrument array including tach • Floor-mounted shifter • Push button radio with in-dash speaker • Full size wheel covers • Wide Whitewall bias ply tires 1954 was the first full year of production for the Corvette. While it is nearly identical in appearance to the extremely rare, hand built, '53s, it improved on the first-year cars in many ways. A dedicated production facility improved build quality and enabled GM to offer more choices than in the original run. But make no mistake, this is still a very rare car with only 3640 examples produced that year. This particular Corvette is only 1 of 100 Sportsman red Corvettes produced in 1954. Making this a very rare and collectable car indeed. It has been completely restored to the highest standards with no expense spared. 235ci/155hp Blue Flame 6 with triple carburetors matted to its 2 speed powerglide automatic transmission. First time shown or for sale to the public. It’s one of the finest 1954 Corvettes available anywhere.

1958 Pontiac Bonneville

Lot # S333 (Sale Order: 33 of 67)

  • 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible ? Unrestored with 19,449 believed original miles ? 370/300 Tri-Power V-8 engine ? Automatic transmission ? Power steering ? Power brakes ? Single spotlight ? White with Silver and Blue interior ? Black convertible top with Blue boot ? Blue two-tone leather interior ? Power convertible top ? Full size spinner wheel covers ? Wide Whitewall tires Preservation has been a hallmark of the car being offered here, an unrestored 19,449 original-mile 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. Just more than 3,000 of these cars were produced that year. Pontiac was rightly proud of the redesigned model line, which it titled “the boldest advance in fifty years,” and the Bonneville was the headlining design. Noted as a blending of sports-car action and town-car luxury, this vehicle was wonderfully appointed from its creation. Now its own model after a thrilling 1956-57 introduction, there were five top colors and four two-tone interior colors offered in the convertible line. Coupled to the vehicle’s redesigned look, fresh suspension and driveline advances, it proved popular enough that this model paced the 1958 Indianapolis 500. The example offered here features the “Tempest 395” 370/300 HP Tri-Power V-8 engine, whose trio of inline 2-barrel carburetors was Pontiac’s top induction system below the fuel-injection design. Behind this was an automatic transmission, and this deluxe model was further equipped with power steering and power brakes. A unique upgrade on this as-built car is the single driver’s-side spotlight. Outside, this beauty was white paint with light chrome accents to the sides and blue painted inserts. It features a black top and a silver and blue interior with a matched blue boot. Inside is blue two-tone leather upholstery in keeping with this model’s deluxe appointments. Options even include a power convertible top. This car is equipped with full-size spinner wheel covers and wide whitewall tires, completing the look of luxury of Pontiac’s top offering for 1958. Owned by collectors for many years, this 1958 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible is the type of car that could be placed on display in a museum or enjoyed with friends and family on the open road with the top down.

1959 CADILLAC ELDORADO BIARRITZ

Lot # S334 (Sale Order: 34 of 67)

  • • 1 of 1,320 built in 1959 • 1 of 99 produced with bucket seats • Argent Silver with Silver interior and matching top • Most expensive car built in America in 1959 • Matching numbers 390/345 HP V-8 engine • 4 speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission • Power steering • Power brakes • Power windows • Parade boot • Fender skirts • Chrome wheel covers • Wide Whitewall tires • Pinnacle of the 1950s excess styled by Dave Holls after the P-38 Lightning aircraft The 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz was designed by Dave Holls with influence coming from the P-38 Lightning aircraft and is easily recognizable by its huge tail fins with dual bullet tail lamps and jeweled front and rear grille inserts. The Eldorado was the most expensive American production car ever to that point, and this was reflected in total sales for that year. Only 1,320 of these Cadillac’s were built in 1959.This was also the final year that Cadillac produced its own coachwork, ultimately contracting Pininfarina in Italy going forward. This Eldorado Biarritz is an absolutely stunning example of the car and demands attention while driving down the road. A very original example with one re-paint in it’s life. Well cared for and maintained for many years in a prominent collection. More chrome than perhaps any other car of its time. Bumpers, runners, grille, headlamp and tail-lamp surrounds, windshield surrounds and wheel covers are all finished in chrome, as is the prominent Eldorado badges behind the front wheels. Only 99 Eldorado’s in 1959 were optioned with bucket seats; other additional extras on the car include power windows, factory radio, power steering, power brakes, fender skirts and a parade boot. The matching-numbers 390/345 HP V-8 engine comfortably powers this beast and is fitted to a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Wide whitewall tires are a nice finishing touch on a car that screams luxury and comfort. This Eldorado is a piece of American automotive history.

1962 CHEVROLET TANGIER SHRINE PATROL CORVETTE

Lot # S338 (Sale Order: 38 of 67)

  • •1 of 13 produced in Heather Amethyst for the Tangier Shrine Corvette Patrol •Displayed at the National Corvette Museum 2006-2008 •327/250 HP V-8 engine •Dual exhaust •3-speed manual transmission •Metallic brakes •Red interior •Signal-seeking AM radio •Clock •Heat and defrost •Whitewall tires •Tachometer •Full size spinner wheel covers This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is documented as one of only 13 built for the Tangier Shrine Corvette Patrol of Omaha, Nebraska. Formed in 1956 by a group of 11 Omaha business and civic leaders, the Tangier Shrine Patrol’s stated mission was to perform demonstrations of skilled driving to promote traffic safety in the community. The group chose the Corvette as the official car of the Patrol, and the first Corvettes were ordered in 1957 by Patrol-founding member and Chevrolet-dealer Garwood Anderson of Wahoo, Nebraska, through the Central Office Production Order system. The group ordered a small fleet of identical Corvettes every year for the next 25 years, and continued to perform their precision maneuvers and close-order drills in fender-to-fender or nose-to-tail formations, often separated by no more than 6 inches. The Patrol demonstrated these skills in parades throughout the Midwest and East, while helping to raise funds for Shriners Hospitals for Children. In 1962, Chevrolet General Manager Bunkie Knudsen gave the Patrol the choice of any color from any GM division; the members voted for Cadillac Heather Amethyst with white interiors, but as the latter was not available, they chose red. While somewhat startling, the combination left no doubt as to each Corvette’s identity as a Shriner parade car. Not surprisingly, one of this car’s first three owners painted it silver. In 1983, a serviceman in South Carolina bought the car and commenced a frame-off restoration. Upon discovering the layer of amethyst paint, he consulted with a Bloomington Gold judge, who confirmed the car’s origins as one of the 1962 Tangier Shrine Patrol Corvettes. Once again presenting in the original amethyst and red with white soft top, it is equipped with the baseline 327/250 HP V-8 engine and 3-speed manual transmission, metallic brakes, heater and defroster, signal-seeking AM radio, tach and clock and whitewall tires with full-size spinner wheel covers. This unique Shriners Corvette comes with a letter from the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, verifying its display there from June 14, 2006, through April 6, 2008.

1958 Pontiac Bonneville

Lot # S339 (Sale Order: 39 of 67)

  • 1958 Pontiac Bonneville • Unrestored with 22,200 believed original miles • Tri-Power 370/300 HP V-8 engine • Three 2-barrel carburetors • Automatic transmission • Power steering • Power brakes • Black with Silver interior • Split bench seat • Pushbutton radio • Power windows • Power antenna • Deluxe wheel covers • Wide Whitewall tires Showing a 22,200 original miles, this 1958 Pontiac Bonneville two-door hardtop is a very attractive example of the car that daring GM Executive Semon “Bunkie” Knudsen conceived to pull Pontiac Division out of its postwar downward sales spiral. The Division had sunk to sixth in industry sales when Knudsen assumed control with talented young engineers E.M. “Pete” Estes and John Z. DeLorean at his side. By then, Pontiac’s former management had rolled out a caravan of dreamy show cars in efforts to improve its public image, debuting a fresh generation of cars with new chassis, new bodies and an impressive new pushrod V-8 engine. These resulted in a slight increase in sales, but Knudsen wanted more, and he fulfilled that desire with the limited-production 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible, the flashiest, most sophisticated and powerful Pontiac the world had ever seen. It featured practically every optional extra as standard equipment, most importantly the Rochester fuel-injected V-8. The Bonneville returned in 1958 on the all-new GM cruciform frame with legendary GM Design Chief Harley Earl’s last styling treatment before his retirement. Available now in both hardtop and convertible form, the 1958 Bonneville offered similarly lavish appointments and improved performance with new Tri-Power carburetion that raised the 370 CI V-8’s output to 300 HP. Many of the previous Bonneville’s standard features were moved to the option list, but most 1958 models were fully appointed by their buyers, including the remarkable 1958 Bonneville offered here. Equipped with the 370/300 HP Tri-Power V-8 and a Hydra-Matic transmission, it is finished in Persian Black with a contrasting silver interior featuring a split-bench front seat, tinted glass, pushbutton radio with power antenna and power windows. Power steering, power brakes and wide whitewall tires with full-size wheel covers complete this rare and very sharp 1958 Bonneville

1958 Imperial Crown Convertible

  • 1958 Imperial Crown Convertible • 1 of only 675 Convertibles • Body off restoration • 392 Hemi motor • Factory Air Conditioning • Full power features Only 16,000 Imperials were produced in model year 1958, and of those, only 675 were Imperial Crown Convertibles. The Crown Convertible was Imperial’s equivalent to the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, and this incredibly luxurious open model was a car for Sunset Boulevard if there ever was one. Unfortunately, the number of surviving convertibles over the years has dwindled, and it is believed that only a few dozen survivors are known, with very few of them having been fully restored. These are the most sought-after of all 1950s Imperials. This Imperial Crown Convertible combines unsurpassed elegance with the flamboyance of the 1950s, as only Virgil Exner and his designers could, making it the ultimate Chrysler from a decade of Hemi-powered dream-machines. 1958 Imperial Crown Convertible, “Forward look” at its best.
