Aston Martin DB6 Vantage

Lot # 276 (Sale Order: 76 of 139)

The DB6 was launched at the London Motor Show in 1965, following on from the highly successful DB5, immortalized by the 1964 James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. The front end of the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5 but closer inspection revealed quite a different car. The wheelbase was lengthened allowing additional passenger space in the rear along with a raised roof line. The profile of the rear quarter lights echoed those of the DB4GT Zagato, a styling theme that continued through to the DBS and V8 models until production finished in 1990. Both front and rear bumpers were split into two pieces and the rear of the car was re-styled with a Kamm tail which helped reduce aerodynamic drag and gave the car more stability at speed. The engine remained the same as the DB5 unit, a 3995cc twin overhead cam straight six with triple SU Carburettors producing a claimed 282bhp. The Vantage version as offered here produced a claimed 325bhp utilizing triple Weber carburettors. Delivered new to Ralph Davis Ltd. of 36 Hatfield Road, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire on the 9th January 1967 through H.R Owen; the copy of the build sheets that accompany the car show that 2866/R is a rare Vantage example fitted with engine #400/2853V and originally finished in Silver Birch. The documents also show chrome wire wheels, heated rear screen, 3 ear hub caps and power operated aerial were fitted from new. The owner clearly enjoyed his new Aston as records show service work was carried out throughout 1967 with 500 miles recorded in February; the 1,000 mile service completed a month later in March and a 5,000 mile service in August! At some point later in its life the car headed to the dry and warmer climes of Australia and has recently been imported back to the UK. The engine benefits from breathing through new Weber carburettors and recent service bills totalling £4,000 accompany the file with the owner informing us that the car drives well. Also supplied in the file is a V5 document and MoT test certificate with no advisories valid until 19th November 2016.This DB6 Vantage is a rare car indeed, with only 268 right hand drive examples built, this car would make an impressive addition to any collection and would be welcome at the most prestigious classic car events around the world.

Ferrari Testarossa

Lot # 277 (Sale Order: 77 of 139)

Introduced at the 1984 Paris Salon, the Testarossa caused a sensation. The functionality of its Pininfarina styled bodywork was disguised by a wealth of flamboyant and futuristic detailing. Developed with the aid of a wind tunnel, it combined a low drag coefficient with impressive negative lift characteristics. The first twelve-cylinder Ferrari to be marketed in America for a decade, the new flagship was of vital importance to Maranello. Although it was built around a similar tubular steel matrix, it retained the same mid-engined layout as its Berlinetta Boxer forebears. The Testarossa was more than just a simple evolution, its use of galvanised steel for the doors, roof and bulkheads promised greater longevity, while a longer wheelbase, wider track and revised all-round double-wishbone coil-over suspension promoted better handling. As well as greater interior space, drivers also benefited from an adjustable steering column, re-profiled seats and air conditioning. Mounting the drive train and rear suspension on a separate sub-frame meant better noise insulation and easier servicing. The switch from a large front-mounted radiator to twin units housed in front of each rear resulted in more efficient cooling and less heat soak. Extensively reworked, the 4942cc, flat-12 developing some 390bhp and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Highly praised by the contemporary motoring press, Autocar magazine found the Testarossa capable of 181mph and 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds. This lefthand drive Testarossa was originally supplied new by Ferrari Francorchamps Motors in Brussels. Recently she has been taken out of storage and re-commissioned with a full service and cambelt changed by a recognised Ferrari specialist in the UK. Presented in virtually unmarked condition, this Ferrari is finished in black with black interior. Supplied with a current MoT test certificate valid until 19th April 2017 and a Nova certificate, we are advised by the vendor the UK registration has been applied for and may well be completed by the auction date. Our inspection confirmed this to be a very original example and one that many would believe to be a rock solid investment.

LDV Pilot 'Mutts Cutts'

Lot # 278 (Sale Order: 78 of 139)

We could discuss the LDV Pilot van that forms the skeleton of this strange offering but that would somehow defeat the object of the exercise. What I can tell you is that this curious vehicle has now made its way into the national subconscious on both sides of the Atlantic and represents one of the most famous and recognisable 'film-cars' of all time. Dumb & Dumber was released in 1994 as a warm and humorous family film but it was the two leading men, giants in their field, which catapulted the film into the stratosphere and even spawned a sequel. Imbecilic best friends Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) stumble across a suitcase full of money left behind in Harry's car by Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly), who was on her way to the airport. The pair decide to go to Aspen, Colorado to return the money, unaware that it is connected to a kidnapping. As Harry and Lloyd, who has fallen in love with Mary, are pursued across the country by hired killers and police, they find both their friendship and their very meagre brains tested. This has been created as a faithful tribute to the original Mutts Cutts van, it is fully up and running and comes complete with an MoT test certificate. It has also been on a European tour raising money for the British Heart Foundation along with countless press and radio interviews along the way and to this day is highly popular with all young and old alike. If you want to make a statement or own a pet grooming parlour and want to corner the market in one fail swoop, then this is for you!

Ferrari 550 Barchetta by Pininfarina

Lot # 279 (Sale Order: 79 of 139)

The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a two-seater manufactured from 1996 and is powered by a front-engined V12. It shared its platform and 5474cc engine with the 456 but was positioned as the company's high-end model. It featured a luxurious and spacious interior and, unusually for a Ferrari, the boot could accommodate a set of golf clubs. The 550 has a tubular steel frame chassis with light aluminium bodywork. Power steering is variable assist and to be expected of a car with this performance, disc brakes are fitted all round. Acceleration is an impressive 4.2 seconds 0 to 60mph and top speed a reported 199mph. Ferrari introduced a convertible version of the 550 at the Paris Motor Show in 2000. This Barchetta Pininfarina was a true roadster in every sense of the word and with only 448 Barchettas manufactured worldwide, these highly desirable Ferraris are very sought after by collectors. Having covered a mere 35,291km (22,007 miles), this Ferrari is in outstanding condition and is a credit to its former keeper. Finished in Giallo Modena with dark grey interior, it is fitted with a Fiorano handling pack, carbon fibre gear knob and ultra comfortable racing seats. With the usual outstanding ergonomics of such a marque, the cockpit area of this striking Ferrari is a thing of real beauty. We are advised this lefthand drive Ferrari drives superbly with no known faults. Supplied with a V5C registration document, current MoT test certificate, original service books and toolkit; this rare Ferrari has a plaque confirming it to be number 168 out of the 448 manufactured and is offered at a very attractive reserve.

Ford V8 'Midget Racer’

Lot # 280 (Sale Order: 80 of 139)

In the 1930s and 1940s, America was gripped by a new kind of motorsport, midget racing. Modelled on the larger cars that raced at Indianapolis, midget racers competed across the country on tracks in football and baseball stadia, at county fairs, on purpose built quarter-mile ovals and even on rough tracks carved out of cornfields. For nearly two decades, midget racing took place seven nights a week and twice daily at weekends. Most racing organisations set engine capacity limits between 100 and 140ci, limiting the choice of passenger car engines for constructors so that most early midgets were powered by outboard motors or motorcycle engines. In 1934, Fred Offenhauser created a powerful four-cylinder, 98ci midget engine based on the famous Miller racing engine and 'Offys' quickly became dominant in midget racing, though not all could afford them. In 1937, Ford launched a 136ci, 60hp, V8 engine intended as a more economical alternative to their larger flathead V8 engine. At last there was an alternative for 'cash-strapped' midget racers that could challenge the dominance of the 'Offy' and V8-60s remained successful in competition into the 1950s. Very little is known about this distinctive V8 sports racer; it was imported from a museum collection in the United States. This red single seater, with original sponsorship decals and number, is sporting the handbrake outside as per the period. This example would certainly take pride of place in a collection; harking back to the days when racing and drivers perhaps had to be a lot more in tune with their machines and indeed the track!

Ford Sawin ‘Big Car’

Lot # 281 (Sale Order: 81 of 139)

Built in the midst of the Great Depression, the racing cars of the era, such as the Sawin, had to be reasonably economical and so many were fitted with four cylinder engines from the Ford Model B. Racing was local, stock-based but still creative and competitive. The backbone of Depression-era racing were the 'big cars' or 'sprint cars' that were lightweight, quick, rugged cars that could compete night after night on the bullrings that dotted America for starting and prize money and occasional points in season championships. It was 'the show' that counted, coaxing nickels and dimes out of the pockets of spectators for whom inexpensive entertainment provided distraction from the depression of day-to-day reality. Sawin was a Rhode Island based race car fabricator throughout the 1930s and almost exclusively built Midgets - this is one of very few known 'big cars'. The car has a relatively simple steel and aluminium construction with drum brakes on all four corners and a suicide type front axle with the spring and front axle mounted ahead of the front-frame cross member. Showing a fantastic patina with beautiful livery on the body work, this unfinished project gives the buyer the chance to tailor it to their particular requirements. It has all the makings of a great sprint or hill climb racer in the spirit of how it was originally conceived; simple, economical and fun racing. Opportunities to purchase these little race cars present themselves few and far between, let alone at no reserve.

Chevrolet Corvette C3

Lot # 283 (Sale Order: 83 of 139)

The Chevrolet Corvette is instantly recognisable by the marque aficionado and non-aficionado alike. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette, today, is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The third generation Corvette, the C3, was designed along the lines of the Mako Shark II concept car and was introduced for the 1968 model year continuing in production until 1982. Engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the C2 but the body and interior were all new. This rare and desirable chrome bumper small-block manual Corvette C3 convertible was built in 1971 at the Chevrolet factory in St. Louis, Missouri making it one of the last of the attractive Chrome Bumper models with the factory flared arches. It has been the subject of a thorough restoration started two years ago following a ten-year period of dry storage. The restoration carried out included an engine-out rebuild of chassis and suspension; all bright work re-chromed; brakes rebuilt with new stainless steel callipers; new shock absorbers, exhaust, tyres, hood and hood seals to list just a few items and completed with the highest quality bare fibre glass repaint. The car drives beautifully, very taught with an extremely smooth ride and an abundance of power from the 350 cubic inch (5.7 litre) V8 which was standard equipment from 1969 onwards. The four-speed manual transmission is a delight to use and the unassisted brakes give plenty of feel. All the vacuum systems work perfectly. Finished in this stunning red with black interior, the car is supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2017. This Corvette is a stunning car and much admired wherever it goes. It represents a superb opportunity to acquire a very fine example of America's iconic sports car. ?

Ford Thunderbird Convertible

Lot # 284 (Sale Order: 84 of 139)

Detroit took tentative steps into the rising sports car market in the early 1950s but it took Ford to demonstrate that a domestic production sports car, rather than being noisy, drafty and saddled with mundane power, could also satisfy more traditional buyers who wanted such common American automotive amenities as side windows, heaters and big-car styling. They did it with the all-new 1955 Thunderbird. The new T-Bird had it all: a stylish, low-slung body, a rumbling 292/198 HP Y-Block, V-8 engine, luxurious accommodation and an optional equipment list that included power assists, a removable hard top that offered more weather protection than the side curtains and fold down tops used in most other sports cars and a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The Thunderbird was essentially a downsized luxury car, but its bright demeanour and powerful engine made it immediately popular with the sports car set and its first year sales total of 16,155 cars was a pleasant surprise to Fords top brass. This prototypical 1955 Ford Thunderbird personifies all the charms that first established the model's popularity. Originally sourced at the now famous Pebble Beach auctions in 2014, this great-looking example has undergone a full, frame-off restoration and professionally finished in Waterfall Blue; it sports a new and correct blue and white interior with the factory radio and offers the choice of both a white soft top and matching hard top. Firestone wide-white-wall tires and optional wire-wheel hubcaps were popular period choices for this car which is powered by the aforementioned 292 c.i. Thunderbird V-8 mated to a three-speed manual transmission with optional overdrive. The highly detailed engine compartment and chassis are great finishing touches to this classic piece of fifties Americana.

Ford F100 Pick-up

Lot # 285 (Sale Order: 85 of 139)

The F-Series is a range of full size pick-up trucks from Ford which have been sold continuously for over six decades. The most popular variant of the F-Series is the F150. It has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States for the past 32 years and the best selling pick-up for 43 years in Canada. The second generation F-series was introduced in 1953. The F1 became the F100 because of the popular culture influence of the North American F100 Super Sabre, the first supersonic fighter which first flew 1953. Increased dimensions, improved engines and an improved chassis were features of the second generation. 1953-54 saw the introduction of the new 239ci overhead valve, Y-block, V8, dubbed 'Power King'. The six-cylinder engine's displacement was also increased from 215ci to 223ci and power steering was introduced as an option and in 1954 the 239ci Y-block was replaced with the 279ci and 317ci. This very original example of the 239ci powered F100 has been maintained by the vendor using correct parts eschewing full restoration for originality and character. Presented in red with a matching red and black interior, it was imported from the US and used for the ensuing ten years as a daily driver. The wood rails in the rear section are in good order and it comes complete with a full one year MoT test certificate. Offered with no reserve, this represents a very classic Ford in sound order.

Ford Mustang Notchback (Road/Competition)

Lot # 286 (Sale Order: 86 of 139)

The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9th March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today after 50 years. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. By 1969, the muscle car race was on and Ford offered a 351, 428 Cobra jet and other performance engines in most models, although often ordered with the Fastback and Mach One cars. The '69 Boss 302 and Shelby (available since 1965), were specialty Mustangs offered with both high performance engines and race-breed suspensions. This 1967 Mustang Coupé is owned by a respected enthusiast who has enjoyed owning and driving this outstanding Mustang coupé. A roll cage has been fitted together with sports seats and the necessary equipment to turn this into a very useable rally car, including a 150 litre fuel tank. This righthand drive example benefits from a manual gearbox contributing to making this a superb vehicle to drive. Whether a new owner chooses to use 828 DNX for personal use or for rally purposes, we are sure this Mustang coupé will not disappoint. ?

Ford Thunderbird

Lot # 287 (Sale Order: 87 of 139)

The Thunderbird entered production in 1955 as a sporty, two-seat convertible and, unlike the Chevrolet Corvette, was not marketed as a sports car. Instead, Ford created a new market segment, the Personal Car. Ford has since produced over 4.4 million Thunderbirds. The second to fourth generation Thunderbird convertibles were similar in design to the Lincoln convertible in that whilst these models had a true convertible soft top, this was lowered to stow in the forward boot area. The boot lid was rear-hinged; raised and lowered via hydraulic cylinders during the top raising or lowering cycle. When fully retracted, there is no sight of the soft top and the overall appearance is a sleek one with no trace of a hood at all.For 1964, the Thunderbird was re-styled in favour of a more squared-off appearance, hinting at its roots in the previous generation. The 300 horsepower, 6.4-Litre, FE V8 continued as the standard engine, paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. In the last year of the generation, 1966, saw a stylistic revision for the Thunderbird highlighted by a new egg-crate style grille with a large Thunderbird emblem at its centre and a new rear fascia. The standard 6.4-Litre, V8 now produced 315 horsepower alongside a newly optional 345 horsepower, 7.0-Litre FE V8. This rare example of the 7.0-Litre, 428 convertible was originally registered on 1st January 1966 in Texas before spending some time being fully restored in Europe including a top end rebuild of the engine and strip down and soda blast to bare metal for the re-spray. This fully numbers-matching car has covered just 74,000 miles, of which 73,000 were in the dry aforementioned climates. Finished in metallic Ice Blue and equipped with power everything, cruise control, sequential tail lights, swing away steering wheel and disc brakes all complimented by the expensive optional extra of full black leather interior. Also, perhaps more importantly, the electric roof works perfectly! First registered in the UK on 22nd January, 2013, the car is with its 1st UK owner and is supplied with a UK V5 registration certificate, a new MoT test certificate, Texas title documents as well as a workshop manual, owner's manual, service book and old MoT test certificates. The car has undergone a recent service which included new plugs, coil, leads and new fitted carpets.Less than 8% of 1966 Thunderbirds were convertible which makes this car rare enough but when coupled with the 428, V8 engine under the bonnet with 350bhp, this is surely a collector's item.

Alfa Romeo Spider Lusso T-Spark

Lot # 288 (Sale Order: 88 of 139)

Enrico Fumia of Pininfarina's low slung wedge design with high 'kamm tail' was reminiscent of his earlier Audi-based Pininfarina Quartz prototype of 1981. The striking lines of the new Grand Turismo Veloce (GTV) and Spiders, revealed at Geneva Salon in 1995, earned countless prestigious design awards from most motoring quarters. Characteristically, the car features concealed headlamps, designed in conjunction with Carello, mounted beneath a clamshell bonnet with illumination port-holes. Build quality was notably a close match to its German rivals and the GTV/Spider helped considerably with rejuvenating Alfa Romeo's reputation for beautiful design and quality crafted sportscars. The year 2000, two-litre cars were fitted with an upgraded twin-cam engine with 153bhp, until Euro3 emissions regulations restricted the performance from August 2000 onwards. Registered new in April 2000, this one private owner two-Litre T-Spark Spider was sent, at a few months old, to Alfa Romeo's recognised performance specialist engineers 'Autodelta' for a GT28 Turbo Conversion with longer 5th gear to handle the 152mph top speed. Published output increased from 153bhp to 220bhp with 0-62mph reached in 6.2 seconds. Finished in a striking 'Nero' coachwork with tan 'Lusso' specification upholstery, the owner also invested in a Limited Edition custom made (Number 0105) Autodelta hardtop. The total invoiced value of these upgrades being over £6,200. Performance is exhilarating and the car feels and behaves just as you would expect from a one-owner car which has been maintained across the years with little expense spared. This is a delightful one-owner example of one of the prettiest roadsters ever built by Alfa Romeo. The official 'Autodelta' upgrades make this already desirable Spider a particularly rare and highly attractive collector's proposition.

Bentley Turbo RL Limousine

Lot # 289 (Sale Order: 89 of 139)

The Bentley Turbo R was a high-performance model produced from 1985 to 1997 with a total of 7,230 built in the 12 year production period. The 'R' stood for 'Roadholding', to set it apart from its predecessor, the Mulsanne and also sported a revised suspension with wider tyres on alloy wheels; a first for a Bentley. The suspension changes, although seemingly subtle, transformed the soft and less than well-controlled ride of the Mulsanne into that of a real performer. This was achieved by increasing the anti-roll bar rates in the front and rear and by increasing the damping. A Panhard rod to anchor the rear suspension was also introduced, reducing side-to-side movement in corners. The Turbo R was sold alongside the Mulsanne Turbo for a short time although the Mulsanne was taken out of production in 1985. For the 1987 model year, the Turbo R received anti-lock brakes and Bosch fuel injection replacing the Solex carburetors. Manufactured in Crewe, this Bentley Turbo RL was delivered to the British Motor Car distributor in San Francisco in May 1995. The car was then taken to renowned US coachbuilder Canepa Designs, where the car was stretched by 48" making this a true limousine in every sense of the word. The conversion was carried out using original factory components and includes a rear facing seat and a privacy partition. No expense was spared in carrying out the conversion and the final bill was $180,000, add to that the $193,000 cost of the car making the total investment of this Turbo RL some $373,000. The car presents in superb condition today, the estimate is a fraction of the original purchase price. Finished in Cobalt blue with magnolia trim and blue piping, with blue Wilton carpets and lambs wool over rugs, this Bentley is ideal for chauffeur hire/ limousine company or maybe you just have a big family.

Porsche 911 Carrera Sport Convertible

Lot # 290 (Sale Order: 90 of 139)

Since its introduction in 1963, the 911 has undergone continual development although the basic concept has remained little changed. In 1973, the Carrera name was re-introduced from the 356 Carrera which had itself been named after Porsche's class victories in the Carrera Panamericana races in Mexico in the 1950's. The RS was built so that Porsche could enter racing formula which demanded that a certain minimum number of production cars were made. The most notable advances in 1984 were the introduction of the 3.2-litre engine. With 231bhp on tap, the new 'boxer' motor endowed the Carrera with a level of performance approaching that of the original 911 Turbo of 1974; the bald statistics being a 0-60mph time of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 152mph. The 3.2 Carrera, produced from 1984 to 1989, is regarded by many as the best of the air-cooled models thanks to its blend of classic good looks, scintillating performance and relatively low cost of ownership, all subsequent models being more complex machines that need deeper pockets to maintain. This 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Sport Convertible, fitted with the 3.2 litre engine and five-speed gearbox, was first registered in September 1984. The previous keeper had owned B432 BPP for some 20 years clearly taking a great deal of pride in owning such an iconic vehicle keeping it fully maintained. Having covered only 6,000 miles since a fully documented and photographed engine rebuild and, more recently, a complete brake overhaul, new softtop, suspension bushes and a bare metal repaint in the original and rare Porsche Glacier blue colour, this excellent Carrera Sport Convertible is in exemplary condition. Complimented by a dark blue leather interior and tailored carpets. Supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2017, all the handbooks, old MoT test certificates dating back to 1990, a file of invoices showing the recent work carried out and a photo album of the engine rebuild. This well-sorted convertible is ready to be used and enjoyed immediately. Air-cooled 911 prices have been increasing rapidly of late; this Carrera convertible is not only one for the purists and collectors but one for the drivers.

BMW Z3 M Coupé S54 Specification

Lot # 291 (Sale Order: 91 of 139)

The Z3 was the first modern mass-market roadster produced by BMW as well as the first new BMW model to be assembled in the United States. It was introduced as a 1996 model year vehicle, shortly after being featured in the James Bond movie 'Goldeneye'. While the film was number one at the box office, sales of the car peaked and it was sold out by the time the car was launched. The Z3 was designed by Joji Nagashima of the BMW design team and developed from the E36 platform of the 3-Series. The resulting platform is often referred to as the E36/7(roadster) or E36/8(coupé). When launched, only the 1.9 litre straight four engine was offered, but its 138bhp was not up to expectations. A 2.2 litre engine producing 168bhp was made available for the more enthusiastic driver and in 1997 a powerful six cylinder 2.8 litre engine producing 190bhp was an option; in 1998 the Z3M had a 3.2 litre engine offering more power. The M Coupé was voted by Top Gear magazine as one of 'the 149 Coolest Cars Ever'. Thought to be the best example of the Z3M Coupé in the UK and with less than 11,000 miles recorded from new, this coupé is in showroom condition. With one previous owner, it is presented in unmarked Titanium Silver with contrasting Imola Red & Black Nappa Leather trim. In October 2001, the M Coupé reappeared with the new 3.2-litre S54B32 engine from the E46 M3. It produces 321bhp at 7400rpm and 258lb/ft. A well specified car such as this one includes heated drivers and passenger seats, air conditioning and moon roof. Testimony to the untouched and well kept nature of this example is the original first aid kit still in the cellophane. We are informed that for the past six years, BMW have been perusing the vendor to purchase this car themselves. Having been serviced just once, as per its BMW schedule, this car has been SORN since 2012 and used sparingly to ensure all fluids and electrics are fresh and working as new; all details can be found within the history file along with all handbooks, V5 registration and MoT test certificate valid until May 2017. This is an opportunity to own a car of which only 165 righthand drive examples were ever produced by BMW. A genuine classic here and now.?

Bentley Azure

Lot # 292 (Sale Order: 92 of 139)

The Bentley Azure was launched in 1995 and based on the platform of the Continental R coupé which had been launched in 1991. The Azure often surprised with its size and bulk, intended to both convey a sense of presence and allow for comfortable seating of four adult passengers. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre V8, featuring a single intercooled turbocharger producing in the region of 380bhp. The gearbox was a General Motors sourced four-speed automatic unit capable of 0 to 60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was designed and manufactured by Pininfarina, significantly adding to the vehicle's production cost. This stunning Bentley Azure was delivered new in the U.S. and recently repatriated to the UK. The silver coachwork is virtually unmarked as is the stone grey interior; wood and leather are offered in abundance confirming this to be a car from one of the worlds' premium marques. Our test drive highlighted no faults with everything operating as it should. It is supplied with a NOVA certificate enabling the car to be registered in the UK should the new owner choose to. Whether you are going to the shops or travelling to the Côte d'Azur, this lefthand drive Bentley Azure is just about the perfect vehicle.

Bentley Arnage

Lot # 293 (Sale Order: 93 of 139)

Not only is the Arnage T more expensive and more powerful than its predecessors, the Arnage Green and Red Label models, but it also claimed the title of world's fastest saloon, needing all but the last two spots on its 170mph speedometer. The Arnage T is powered by yet another version of the 6.75 litre Rolls-Royce, V8 engine whose roots go back to 1959. Treated to what Bentley described as 'the most thorough re-engineering of its life', the 2007 model year cars produced a staggering 500bhp. This prodigious output, besides enabling this Bentley to reach 168mph, also sent it from 0 to 60mph in 5.2 seconds; the engine's most significant change being the switch from a single turbocharger to one for each bank of cylinders. Other changes included the adoption of a 'drive-by-wire' throttle to go hand-in-glove with Bosch's Electronic Stability Program which replaced the Red Label's traction control, but what really gives this nearly three-ton car its immense poise is a revised suspension that features 57% more roll stiffness than the Red Label. The car's basic structure is also 10% stiffer which means there are no creaks and squeaks of the sort that can distinguished previous generations of Bentleys. Presented in splendid black with luxurious cream interior, this opulent Arnage T Mulliner is currently owned by a gentleman who spends much of his time on business abroad; the mileage has therefore remained attractively low at just 32,000 and much of the recent mileage is on a month run by his driver. Originally registered on 04th January, 2007, this exquisitely handsome Bentley's coachwork is unmarked as is the sumptuous parchment leather interior. Whether it is the deep rich walnut or the Bentley logo stitched into the headrests that catches your eye, this Arnage T is not only a stunning car to look at, the performance is astonishing given the style, comfort and luxury that this 500bhp Bentley offers. It comes with a V5 registration document and a valid MoT test certificate together with the original service books with the last service recorded at 29,000 miles. This Bentley Arnage T Mulliner is a delight to travel in and even better to drive.?

Aston Martin V8 Saloon

Lot # 294 (Sale Order: 94 of 139)

The Aston Martin V8 engine began development in the mid-sixties when it was first used in a Lola Sports racing car with a view to replacing the six-cylinder unit which had been in production since the DB4 in 1958. Aston Martin had converted a DB5 with an early V8 engine which was used for many thousands of development miles by the factory to create a usable and powerful eight-cylinder engine for use in the new DBS model that was due for production in 1968. Unfortunately the engine wasn't ready in time for the launch of the DBS and it went on sale fitted with the six-cylinder engine used in the DB4/5/6. In 1971, the DBS V8 was launched, fitted with the long awaited Tadek Marek designed V8, an engine which powered all Aston Martin models until the launch of the DB7 in the early nineties. The DBS V8 was replaced by the V8 Series III and was unveiled to the press in London in August 1973. The shape of the new V8 was similar to the previous model but featured revised front end styling and one of the major differences was the replacement of the Bosch fuel injection system with Weber carburettors. A number of improvements were made to various other aspects of the car including improved cooling for the automatic transmission, oil and water. Two optional rear axle ratios were offered and the front seats were redesigned offering greater comfort to driver and passenger. This Aston Martin V8 was originally registered on 9th November 1973 to A.R. Morrice Ltd. of Station Parade, Harrogate and remained registered to the company until 14th November, 1984 where upon it passed to Mrs. Barbara Wilkinson of Grainbeck Lane, Harrogate. The Aston remained in her tenure for over 22 years before passing onto Mr. Anthony Morrice on 18th May, 2006. We note that this is the same name of the original company that purchased the car new and his address is identical to the previous owner, Mrs. Wilkinson. From this we can assume the car remained in the same family or close friends for some 33 years. Later in November 2006, the car was purchased by its next keeper. It was the subject of a category C insurance claim in July 2006 and was subsequently repaired in 2007. Following the repairs the car was inspected by VOSA in August 2007 and given a clean bill of health, although the damage is recorded on the V5C registration document. After coming out of a recent three year hibernation period, some light re-commissioning work has been carried out and it passed an MoT test on 3rd May 2016. For complete peace of mind, another engineer's report was carried out on 7th May 2016 by Autolign Inspections at their Redhill, Surrey site and given a further clean bill of health. The file contains the rare and hard to find copy of the original purchase invoice from Arnold G. Wilson of Regent Street, Leeds. The invoice confirms the colour of Cambridge Blue with blue interior and details extras including a driver's door mirror, delivery charges and fitting of number plates; the car still retains its original registration number SUB 600M, all for the princely sum of £9,679. Further correspondence include the original certificate of motor insurance, original Radiomobile booklet, three old MoT test certificates as well as MoT test history dating back to 2006, a current item valid until May 2017 and a copy of the original build sheets, an Aston Martin Heritage Trust certificate and the original Service Booklet with supplying dealer stamp of Arnold G. Wilson and hand written A.R. Morrice Ltd. Fitted with its original engine (V/540/1050) and finished in Cambridge Blue with matching blue leather trim, this Aston Martin epitomises everything about a British built grand tourer of the seventies. The gorgeous sound of the long-legged V8 engine, the armchair-like seats and the tactile switchgear, all contribute to the effortless way in which this Aston Martin travels along with alacrity. Given the low ownership and condition of this handsome Aston Martin, the realistic estimate appears very attractive.

Lamborghini Diablo VT

Lot # 295 (Sale Order: 95 of 139)

The Diablo was presented to the public for sale on January 21st 1990. Its power came from a 5.7 litre, 48-valve version of the existing Lamborghini V12 featuring dual overhead cams and computer-controlled, multi-point fuel injection, producing a maximum output of 492hp and 428 lb/ft of torque. It could reach 62mph in about 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 202mph. The Diablo was rear-wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance. The Diablo came better equipped than the Countach and had standard features including fully adjustable seats and steering wheel, electric windows, an Alpine stereo system and power steering from 1993 onwards. Anti-lock brakes were not initially available although they would eventually be used. A few options were available including a custom-moulded driver's seat, remote CD changer and subwoofer, rear spoiler, factory fitted luggage set and an exclusive Breguet clock for the dash. Carrying on Lamborghini's tradition of naming its cars after breeds of fighting bull, the Diablo was named after a ferocious bull raised by the Duke of Veragua in the 19th century, famous for fighting an epic battle with 'El Chicorro' in Madrid on July 11, 1869. In the words of Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, the Diablo was designed 'solely to be the biggest head-turner in the world.' This rare righthand drive 1994 Lamborghini Diablo VT, four-wheel drive, was ordered in London but the UK agent changed so it was purchased and collected new by the only owner directly from the factory and was registered in Italy and this excellent example has only covered 13,380 kilometres from new - the equivalent of less than 8,500 miles. Supplied new with active suspension, rear wing and Kevlar seats, it has been fully maintained and kept in his private collection of classic cars. In 2001, the gearbox was rebuilt by Lamborghini London and it has recently received a service. Finished in Rosso Diablo with cream leather interior, this rare example has recently been registered in the UK and is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in October 2016 and a copy of the specification sheet from Lamborghini. The original handbook pack contains the owner's manual and the stamped service book. Jeremy Clarkson was not exaggerating when he said the Diablo was a huge head turner -this model will certainly attract many admirers and is an investment for the future.

Ferrari 308 GTS

Lot # 296 (Sale Order: 96 of 139)

The 308GTB was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 and was built alongside the 308GT4 and designed as a replacement for the 246 Dino. Designed by Leonardo Fiorvanti, the man who styled some of the most iconic Ferrari's including the Daytona, the new 308 sported a rakish and attractive body which fused classic elements of Ferrari styling with a thoroughly modern design. For the first two years of production, the body of the 308 was produced in fibreglass after which steel was used. The 308 shared a similar tube frame chassis as the original Dino and 308GT4 with four wheel double wishbone independent suspension. The engine was a V8 unit which was positioned behind the driver and was transversely mounted with double overhead camshafts and four 40DCNF Weber carburettors latterly replaced with Bosch K Jetronic mechanical fuel injection. This excellent, righthand drive carburettor 308 GTS is one of the rare 184 supplied new in the UK, was first registered in January 1981 and has only had five owners. Supplied in Argento Auteuil with blue leather, air conditioning, 7.5? wide Campagnolo alloys, it maintains the same original specification today. The history file on this car is amongst the most comprehensive we have ever seen and includes the original order and sales invoice, Certification of Authenticity, chronological file itemising every Ferrari service, invoices from 1982 to present, original service book and service stamps, mileage verification documents including old MoT test certificates, previous owner declarations along with the original handbooks and wallet. Maintenance has been continual at Ferrari dealers or specialists with thousands of pounds invested in maintaining it in this stunning condition. A precautionary mechanical engine and gearbox rebuild was carried out 8,000 miles ago in 2010 by a renowned Ferrari specialist. A full inspection report and cambelt service at Rardley Motors was also carried out in May and is available to be viewed in the file along with a MoT test certificate valid until May 2017. The 308 carburettor model is one of the most classical shapes produced by Ferrari in the 1970s and 1980s with this example representing one of the finest on the market and refreshing to see it finished in its original silver colour scheme.

Ferrari Scuderia 16M

Lot # 297 (Sale Order: 97 of 139)

Ferrari said, upon release, that the Scuderia Spider 16M is the highest performance Spider that it had ever made. Like the fixedhead F430 Scuderia, this car also incorporates what Ferrari calls 'F1-derived' technology. With a limited edition 499-unit production run, the '16M moniker' refers to Ferrari's 16 F1 Constructors World Championships- the latest of which was achieved in 2008. Although the 16M is derived from its enclosed predecessor, Ferrari had taken the Scuderia concept even further. Despite the additional body strengthening, the 16M is 80kg lighter, tipping the scales at an admirable 1340kg. Much of this has been achieved by a major overhaul of the double-wishbone suspension as well as new dampers and a new steering box, even gaining titanium springs and wheel bolts, a measure of the 16M's extreme engineering brief. Powered by the same 503bhp version of Ferrari's 4.3 litre, V8 found in the coupé, the 16M had undergone an extra tweak in the form of redesigned pistons which also allow for a higher compression ratio offering 80% of the engine's torque on tap from 3,000rpm. The engine drives the F1-SuperFast2 six-speed transmission, which can execute shifts in a claimed 60 milliseconds via the steering wheel paddles. Helping keep the 16M on the road is the F1-Trac traction control system which allows the driver to select five basic 'characters' for the 16M from wet conditions, through good-road holding and track-driving. The car's electronic safety net can, though, be progressively disabled with the CT setting allowing oversteer at maximum power and CST taking away everything but the E-Diff's efforts. Capable of being pleasantly civilised and surprisingly aggressive, this 16M Scuderia, presented in Ferrari White with deep red suede trim, was purchased, or rather, was allowed to be purchased by a wealthy eastern European business man in 2009 from Karner & Grossegger Automobile Ferrari in Austria. Initially cared for by Warm UP KFT Ferrari in Budapest, the initial owner transferred ownership to his son in 2011 before selling the vehicle on to a prominent business contact, a friend of the family in Spain. Guarnieri Marbella and C.DE Salamanca S.A Ferrari have since serviced and cared for the car with a recent service in March 2016 was carried out by specialists Talleres Rotor Ferrari Andalucia, Malaga which is documented. Offered with all handbooks and relevant documents, this is a genuine example of a fast appreciating limited-edition Ferrari, a motorcar that Ferrari were rightly very proud of. With only 499 ever produced, of which many will never come to market, this is a rare opportunity to own a slice of Maranello's finest.

MG C Roadster

Lot # 298 (Sale Order: 98 of 139)

The arrival of the MGC in 1967 was greeted with mixed reaction from enthusiasts and the motoring press alike. It can be described as one of the most controversial sports cars ever produced from Abingdon and during its short life the car was never short of attention, particularly from journalists. The arrival of the MGC was partly due to the flagging sales of the Austin Healey 3000 and the fact that the original design of the MG monocoque structure was capable of taking larger power units than the 1800cc engine in the MG. Upon its launch, the MGC was available in roadster form at £1,102 and in GT form at £1,249 and was considered very reasonably priced for one of the fastest production MGs produced. If, however, used as a relaxed high speed tourer, the MGC was an extremely civilised motor car to drive. This MGC was originally registered in the U.S. and repatriated to the UK in 2014 by MGC specialist Brian Hutchison. When he received the car, he set about restoring her to a very high standard and included stripping the car to a bare shell. This was found to be in excellent original condition and work began to prime the body and paint her in tartan red. The prepared shell was then fitted out with a new wiring loom, brakes and suspension, at the same time converting TOR 423G to righthand drive. A stainless steel exhaust was fitted and new 72 spoke chrome wire wheels. The engine, gearbox, overdrive unit and rear axle were overhauled as necessary. A complete new interior was fitted with the seats trimmed in leather and a new hood and frame put the finishing touches to this magnificent vehicle. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate, this MGC has been rebuilt to correct original UK specification and having completed a mere 200 miles since completion, she is in stunning condition.

Ferrari 575M F1

Lot # 299 (Sale Order: 99 of 139)

In 1996, Ferrari introduced the 550 Maranello in a bid to revive their fabled line of grand tourers and it quickly proved to be an overwhelming success. Six years later, in 2002, they introduced the 575M Maranello, which brought about a host of healthy updates to make an incredible car even more potent. The engine capacity of the V12 was increased by 250cc, resulting in a total displacement of 5,748cc and brought a healthy increase in power and torque giving the 575M a top speed of 202mph. The front end was slightly revised with newer headlights, a revised air intake and front spoiler and the weight distribution was improved to 50/50. Buyers also had the opportunity to outfit their new car with an F1-style gearbox, which proved to be a very popular option. The 575M was also fitted with larger brake discs, inside, the interior was modernised and refreshed with an updated dashboard, trim, and steering wheel amongst other minor items. This Ferrari is described by the vendor as being in fabulous condition bodily, mechanically and electrically. It has been extremely well maintained with a very recent major cambelt service. It has spent much of its life in Italy in the hands of just two owners. More recently however, it has resided in the UK since 2013, owned and cherished by a genuine Ferrari enthusiast. Not only does it benefit from the desirable F1 semi-automatic gearbox with paddle-shift but its high specification includes full Rosso leather interior (including the roof lining), Ferrari crests to the headrests, black carpets and luggage rack and electric seat adjustments to both driver and passenger. Externally, it has been fitted with a stainless-steel sports exhaust and the correct and original Ferrari tool kit is present. A striking example of Ferrari's highly accomplished 575M F1 in excellent condition, very well priced and with a recent, comprehensive cam-belt service.

Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster

Lot # 300 (Sale Order: 100 of 139)

The Murciélago is an all-wheel drive, mid-engined supersports car. With an angular design and an exceptionally low slung body, the highest point of the roof is just under four feet above the ground. One of the vehicle's most distinguishing features is its scissor doors which lends to the extreme image. First-generation Murciélagos, produced between 2001 and 2006, were powered by a Lamborghini V12 that traces its roots back to the company's beginnings in the 1960s. The rear differential is integrated with the engine itself with a viscous coupling centre differential providing drive to the front wheels. Power is delivered through a six-speed manual transmission. The suspension uses an independent double-wishbone design and bodywork features carbon fibre, steel and aluminium parts. The rear spoiler and the active air intakes integrated into the car's shoulders are electromechanically controlled, deploying automatically only at high speeds in an effort to maximize both aerodynamic and cooling efficiency. The Murciélago Roadster was introduced in 2004. Primarily designed to be an open top car, it employed a manually attached soft roof as cover from adverse weather. The designer used the B-2 stealth bomber, the Wally 118 WallyPower yacht and architect Santiago Calatrava's Ciudad de Las Artes y Las Cièncias in Valencia, Spain as his inspiration for the roadster's revised rear pillars and engine cover. First registered on the 2nd April 2005 by Lamborghini Geneva, this stunning roadster was exported to the UK in 2014 and first registered in the UK in April 2015; all EU taxes have been paid and has EU type approval certificate and correctly registered with all type approval data. The car is finished in the stunning colour scheme of yellow pearl with a contrasting yellow and black interior. The car is supplied with Swiss service history followed by a recent service last year that was completed less than 1,000km ago along with all books and tool roll. Showing 39,000km, the equivalent of 24,000 miles, it is also supplied with two UK MoT test certificates with no advisories with the current certificate valid until March 2017. Without question, a rare and hugely desirable supercar offered with a very realistic estimate.
