Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser

Lot # 227 (Sale Order: 27 of 127)

The Toyota Land Cruiser, in its many sizes and configurations, has had a long and successful history of reliable service throughthe most rugged of conditions. Patterned after the ubiquitous Jeepand Land Rover utility vehicles, the Land Cruiser demonstrated thatToyota could produce much more than just economical cars.Introduced in 1960, it was available as the FJ40 series (with Fengines) but also BJ40/41/42 (short wheelbase), BJ43/44/46 (middlewheelbase) or HJ45/47 (long wheelbase). In line with this, a numberof chassis options were also available with half cabs, soft topsand doors and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.  Theybecame indispensable in unsettled and remote areas of the world, hauled safaris through Africa, developed a devoted following amongAmerica's off-road culture and have spawned a host ofimitators.  Finding a good vintage example of thesearchetypical utility vehicles can be difficult. This classic righthand drive example was imported recently fromBali in Indonesia where it has spent all of its 79,500 miles. It iswell equipped with air conditioning and power steering  aswell as the usual refinements you would expect to find on a 4WDvehicle such as multiple tow hooks, towing eyes and a hitch to therear. In soundcondition throughout, this now collectable off-road jeep will be UKregistered and carry a fresh 12 month MoT test certificate prior tosale.?

Hudson Super Eight Saloon by Johnson & Smith

Lot # 228 (Sale Order: 28 of 127)

The Hudson Motor Car Company was founded by pioneers HowardCoffin, George W. Dunham and Roy E. Chapin and largely funded bydepartment store owner Joseph L. Hudson. In 1910, just one yearafter it was created, Hudson was the eleventh-largest car companyin America; a country then rife with makers. Having made its nameas 'The World's Largest Builder of Six-Cylinder Cars' by 1913, theHudson Motor Car Company held true to this boast for nearly twodecades. The 'Super Six' of 1916 was the tour de force; itscounterbalanced crankshaft was an industry breakthrough. By thelate 1920's however, the marketplace demanded straight eights. Itwas the Packard Single Eight of 1924 that made the inline eight apractical and popular engine and by 1929, eleven othermanufacturers had them.On offer today is a unique example of the 1930 Hudson SuperEight being the only righthand drive Super Eight model in thecountry. This Hudson is built upon a 119" wheel base chassis andwas assembled and bodied in 1930 by Johnson and Smith, coachbuilders of Christchurch, New Zealand. The chassis wassupplied from the United States to New Zealand where it wasassembled in righthand drive form. It was first registered there on18th July 1931 and registered as a Super Eight. Later versions wereknown as Great Eights and thereafter Greater Eights. The engine isa straight eight 3830cc side valve unit with a three speed gearbox. The handsome coachwork is in good order throughout and is finishedin dark blue with black wings.  To the rear is a woodenstorage box covered in leather with an additional metal luggagerack. Indicators were fitted in New Zealand to meet their vehiclelegislation. In 2007, the previous owner imported the Hudson intothe UK whereupon it was registered and all duties paid. He has alsoinformed the vendor that, ten years before the car was acquired byhim, a restoration was carried out in New Zealand and afterimporting the car he only used the car for family outings and theoccasional wedding. The vendor purchased the Super Eight at thebeginning of 2013 and proceeded to prepare the car so he could takeit on rallies; to this end he has carried out a full service, fitted five new tyres, replaced the dynamo and fitted new lights. In the last two years it has travelled to Ireland twice toparticipate in the Gordon Bennett Rally, in 2014 and 2015, the KopHill Climb and also the Bicester Heritage Sunday brunch. This veryrare Hudson Super Eight comes supplied with a V5C registrationdocument and, although exempt, this Super Eight has a current MoTtest certificate.?

Citroën Maserati SM

Lot # 229 (Sale Order: 29 of 127)

In 1961, Citroën began work on 'Project S', a sports variant ofthe revolutionary Citroën DS. As was customary for the firm, manyrunning concept vehicles were developed, increasingly complex andupmarket from the DS. Citroën purchased Maserati in 1968 with theintention of harnessing Maserati's high-performance V6 enginetechnology to produce a true Gran Turismo car combining thesophisticated Citroën suspension. The result was the Citroën SM,first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1970 and which wenton sale in France in September of that year. Factory produced carswere all lefthand drive, although righthand conversions were donein the UK and Australia. The origin of the model name 'SM' is notcompletely clear. The 'S' may derive from the Project 'S'designation, the aim of which was to produce what is essentially asports variant of the Citroën DS, and the 'M' perhaps refers toMaserati, hence SM is often assumed to stand for 'Systeme Maserati'or 'Sports Maserati'. Another common alternative is 'SérieMaserati' but others have suggested it is short for 'Sa Majesté'(Her Majesty in French), which aligns with the common DS model'snickname 'La Déesse' (The Goddess). This lefthand drive 1972 Citroën Maserati SM has been in thesame family in Italy from new. Recently imported to the UK, thevendor informs us that it will be registered here by the time ofthe sale. In excellent condition throughout, this SM is finished indark blue with brown leather interior and will be supplied with aV5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires inNovember 2016 and an original handbook. The Citroën SM has alwaysbeen regarded as the most collectable of the post war Citroëns andrarely comes to market; as such, when one does, they usually demandhigh prices. This is an opportunity to purchase a rare Citroën SMthat will grace any classic car collection and should prove a wiseinvestment for the future.?

The panel work included a smaller back panel, new floors,a bespoke boot floor, composite GTAm wings, bonnet, boot lid andscuttle panel. Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II

Lot # 232 (Sale Order: 32 of 127)

When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public inOctober 1965 the development departments were showing the result ofwork carried out over a period of some ten years. The new serieswas characterised by surprisingly modern features and with theirdevelopment, Rolls-Royce broke new ground and away from many sacreddesign principles. The new models were technically striking inthree ways: a monocoque chassis was used, all wheels were sprungindependently and four wheel disc brakes now ensured stopping powerof the kind expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet, the V8engine which had been introduced in the Silver Cloud series, wasemployed. In February 1977 the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II wasintroduced. Outwardly the models were identifiable by bumpers withrubber inserts and edges made from polyurethane. The most notablechanges mechanically were to the rack and pinion steering andmodifications to the front suspension which markedly improvedhandling.Supplied by the Southend Motor Company on 15th November 1979,this Rolls-Royce has recently been re-commissioned by the vendor. The car has been checked over mechanically and passed an MoT teston 20th October 2015 with no advisories. The tan leather trim is ingood order and the walnut wood trim has recently been refurbished.Exterior wise she could do with a little time and investmentalthough, it has to be said, this Silver Shadow II is perfectlyuseable as she is. Supplied with a V5 registration document and theoriginal service book, this Rolls-Royce is a super winter projectfor an enthusiast of the marque. ?

Mercedes-Benz 250 SL Pagoda

Lot # 235 (Sale Order: 35 of 127)

Mercedes-Benz has been producing an SL (Sport Leicht) model orrange of models since 1954 when the landmark 300 SL wasunveiled.  The similarly styled, but mechanically unrelated,190 followed in 1955, completing the first generation ofcars.  Their successor was the W113 series SL which proved tobe more comfortable than the former and faster than the latter. The250 SL is the rarest of all the SL's as they were only made for oneyear and just 1,388 righthand drive examples manufactured; ofthese, very few were fitted with a manual gearbox. The 250 SL alsohad a far superior seven main bearing engine as opposed to four inthe 230 SL.First registered in December 1967, this Mercedes 250 SL isoffered in white with contrasting black leather seats, hood, optional hard top and presents in beautiful condition. Renownedspecialists, Colin Ferns Limited, have just carried out a full andcomprehensive service on the car together with a light overhaul andworks included a renewed timing chain, brake servo and mastercylinder to the tune of over £7,000. If that wasn't reassuringenough, every fuse was also replaced before the service leaving nodoubt as to the level of confidence one can have in thisvehicle.  The history of the car, prior to 2003, is sketchydue to the paperwork being unfortunately misplaced; however thehistory file does contain full ownership details and otherdocuments from 2003 such as old MoT test certificates, recent billsand also invoices for the recent work by Colin Ferns. The car comessupplied with a fresh twelve month MoT test certificate togetherwith the original Mercedes-Benz owner's manual and salesbrochure.  This righthand drive example of the beautifulPagoda is, we believe, not only attractively priced but certainlyinspires confidence and is a must on anyone's classic shoppinglist.?

The first Porsche 911 was introduced in 1963 as the replacementfor the much loved Porsche 356. It has a distinctive design;rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution ofthe swing axle on the Porsche 356. The engine was also air-cooleduntil the introduction of the type 996 in 1998. Since itsintroduction in 1963, it has undergone continual developmentalthough the basic concept has remained little changed. In 1973,the Carrera name was re-introduced from the 356 Carrera which haditself been named after Porsche's class victories in the CarreraPanamericana races in Mexico in the 1950's. The RS was built sothat Porsche could enter racing formulae which demanded that acertain minimum number of production cars were made. The mostnotable advances in 1984 were the introduction of the 3.2 litreengine. With 231bhp on tap, the new 'boxer' motor endowed theCarrera with a level of performance approaching that of theoriginal 911 Turbo of 1974; the bold statistics being a 0-60mphtime of 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 152mph.This righthand drive 1985 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet wassupplied new by Horwells Motors in Cardiff and has since remainedfully serviced and maintained. The Model A was hugely popular when releasedwith no less than 28 variants but our vendor sought out the rarertwo-door example from the United States before finally importing inJanuary 2015.Described, and quite rightly, as a trailer queen when purchasedhaving been completely restored to a very high standard some 40years ago, the car was transported from concours event to eventover a 30 year period covering a mere 200 miles (presumably justpositioning the car). It was then sold to the next enthusiasticowner in River Falls, Wisconsin and he covered around 700 milesbefore it headed to the UK where it has spent the summer receivingnumerous awards on the show field including best in show at SamBeare Hospices classic car show here at Mercedes-Benz world. Theflat head four 40HP engine runs impeccably and the carpresents every bit as impressively as it would have when restoredwith a nice warm garage to thank for that. At a cost of  $640when new and costing its previous owners considerably more to bringthis example to the standard seen here today, fully UK registeredcombined with many invites to the shows it graced this summer, whata fantastic opportunity to own a car that quite rightly will turnheads and gain accolades wherever you may takeher.?

Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible

Lot # 238 (Sale Order: 38 of 127)

The origins of the Corniche came from the continuation of the1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow fixedhead coupé and 1967 dropheadcoupé, constructed by the famed coachbuilder Mulliner Park Ward inLondon.  The car was named after the stunning roads along theCote d'Azur in France and was an elegant two-door design availablewith either a coupé or convertible body.  By 1982, the coupéhad ceased production but convertibles continued to be built until1996. The first Rolls-Royce to wear the Corniche name was a 1939prototype based on the Bentley Mk. V, although this was neverproduced due to the onset of World War II. The car used thestandard Rolls-Royce V8 engine as fitted to the Silver Shadow andhad an aluminium-silicon alloy block and aluminium cylinder headswith cast iron wet cylinder liners. The fuel system was in the formof twin SU carburettors which were later replaced with Bosch fuelinjection from 1980 onwards. This splendid Corniche, presented in Porcelain White coachworkwith parchment hide interior and contrasting dark blue vinyl powerhood, was originally sold and fastidiously cared for by Appleyardof Leeds Rolls-Royce.   A clearly cherished example, there are eight stamps present in the service schedule book up to1984 and 51,069 miles. In the summer of 1984, a successfulnightclub owner purchased the Corniche and decided upon a number ofupgrades to suit his lifestyle including having all woodworkstripped, lacquered and polished before refitting alongside abespoke Blaupunkt radio cassette system and BT mobile car phone(still present to this day) as well as a new steering wheel, newclocks and rather expensive wire wheels. The plan to upgrade anddye the veneered woodwork to blue appears to have been put to oneside after the raft of original upgrades; also during thisextensive dash-work, the speedometer was replaced with the mileagetherefore becoming zero, the mileage from that day forth wasconsidered plus an estimated 55,000 miles with paperwork todemonstrate this. With new ownership and its new upgrades, thisexample covered very few miles between 1985 and 1995 with just afurther 13,000 miles being added.  Since then, it has beenpredominantly garaged but for regular MoT tests leaving thespeedometer reading of just 13,987 (est. total 68,987 miles) todate.  It has recently had a service with Brooklands Garagewhich included a new rear sub-frame, renewal of all brake pipes, fuel hoses and even replacement of a new air conditioningcompressor; the service and maintenance was extensive and as suchshould instil confidence in any prospective buyer. This fineCorniche is accompanied by an MoT test certificate expiring inOctober 2016, original handbooks, a wealth of other MoT testcertificates to help warrant the mileage and a bespoke car cover iseven offered to keep her warm this winter!*Interested parties should note that the current number plate isto be retained and a new, age-related plate will be issuedinstead

The vendor has said that he willapply for the UK registration document immediately the car is sold.Finished in Mimosa with black interior, this Triumph is in superbcondition and has covered a mere 19,419 miles in its 40 years onthe road. The engine ran delightfully smooth and quietly during ourappraisal and our road test confirmed this to be of exceptionalquality with no knocks or bumps from the suspension as is often thecase with these cars. The fuel metering unit has been changed torun on unleaded fuel, although the cylinder head remains in itsoriginal condition and as such will require a fuel additive.Supplied with a Heritage certificate and a history file, thisTriumph TR6 was featured in Classic Cars magazine in December 2008.In time warp condition, this car has never been restored and evenhas an eight-track stereo system fitted. We are advised a hardtopis supplied although this was not available when the car wasinspected. Without doubt one of the very best TR6s we have seen andwith warranted mileage, this example really needs to be seen to beappreciated.?

Jaguar Mk. V Drophead Coupé (3½ Litre)

Lot # 240 (Sale Order: 40 of 127)

The Jaguar Mk. V was introduced at the 1948 London Motor Show, sharing a stand with the new Jaguar XK120. Sales of the Mk. V soonoutstripped that of the XK120. It retained the overhead valve, pushrod engine in 2½ litre and 3½ litre formats and produced aclaimed 104bhp whilst the larger 3½ litre unit had a boosted poweroutput of 126bhp. The chassis was a new design with doublewishbones and torsion bar independent front suspension. The caralso had hydraulic brakes and an all-pressed steel body. Thestyling carried forward design ideas from the pre-war SS Jaguarwith the upright radiator grill and the leaping Jaguar mascot as anoption. Jaguar claimed a top speed of 90.7mph; however, NormanDewis, Jaguar's test driver and engineer at the time, verified thathe had once achieved 90mph but the thrill of the moment did notencourage a repeat of the feat.   This matching numbers, righthand drive 1951 Jaguar Mk. V DropheadCoupé was supplied new for personal export by Henlys Limited,London and believed to have been shipped to the USA. The car waspurchased by Mr Jack Yellen in July 1974 from an advert in theBuffalo Evening News which was placed by Bill Allen ofWilliamsville, New York. It was Mr. Yellen's intention to carry outa restoration on the car; however this did not happen and he putthe car into a collector's car auction in 1981. The next owner wasa Mr. James Price who, between 1991 and 1992, had the car restoredat a cost of over $33,000, choosing to keep the original colour ofsuede green with a suede green leather interior. The car was thenimported to the UK by the fourth known owner in 2007 who has keptthe Mk. V fully maintained and serviced including a brake overhaul, fitting a cartridge oil filter system and replacing the petrol pumpwith an electronic unit for reliability. Finished in the originalcolour scheme, this elegant example is supplied with a V5Cregistration document, a Jaguar Heritage certificate and a filecontaining the history from 1974 together with the invoices for the1991/92 restoration. Jensen Interceptor Mk. I

Lot # 241 (Sale Order: 41 of 127)

The Jensen Interceptor is a sporting GT-class car. Interceptorswere hand-built at the Kelvin Way Factory, West Bromwich between1966 and 1976. The Interceptor name had been used previously byJensen for the Interceptor made between 1950 and 1957 at theCarters Green factory. Jensen had extensively used glass-reinforcedplastic for the fabrication of body panels in the preceding twodecades, but the new Interceptor saw a return to a steelbody-shell. The body was designed by an outside firm, CarrozzeriaTouring of Italy, rather than the in-house staff. The early bodieswere built in Italy by Vignale, before Jensen took production inhouse; this stunning new car was built from steel but retained asimilar chassis to the CV8. It also shared the same Chrysler 383cubic inch (6,276cc) V8 engine and Torqueflite automatictransmission. The '67 Interceptor rocketed Jensen intointernational recognition with stars of stage and screen. This truly is a very special Mk. I Interceptor; not only is it 1of just 46 left hand drive Mk. I models manufactured, but it wasthe personal transport of the extremely famous author andinternational playboy Harold Robbins. One of the best-sellingwriters of all time, he penned over 25 best-sellers, selling over750 million copies in 32 languages. However, it wasn't onlyRobbins' books that made him famous but his hedonistic lifestylealso became a source of notoriety. The Jensen was his personaltransport for around 20 years and could often be seen on the Southof France/ Monaco scene, parked in the various harbours next to hisprivate yacht (as seen in the photographs); in fact the car stillsports a 'Port Pierre Canto' parking sticker on the windscreen.Robbins loved the Jensen so much he sent it back to the Jensenfactory circa 1976 for a refurbishment and he often used a pictureof him sitting on the front of a Jensen on the dust covers of hisbooks.A lefthand drive example, this Jensen has some very interestingfeatures; from its yellow Marchal head lights, air conditioning, ametal sunroof as specified by the author and, uniquely, it has adash mounted Dictaphone in which Harold Robbins would dictatechapters of his latest best seller. Supplied with a great historyfile and a full year's MoT test certificate, we are advised theJensen will be registered on UK number plates prior to the auction.Finished in coral red with tan leather trim, this iconic car isdescribed as driving with no known faults. Interceptors areaesthetically very handsome vehicles; a good early example such asthis, with a very interesting history, is sure to appeal tocollectors and enthusiasts alike. ?

Ferrari 550 World Speed Record Edition

Lot # 242 (Sale Order: 42 of 127)

The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a two-seat grand tourermanufactured from 1996 through to 2001 and  powered by afront-engined V12. It shared its platform and 5,474cc engine withthe 456 but was positioned as the company's high-end model. The carused a transaxle layout with the six-speed manual gearbox locatedat the back, in-line with the driven wheels. It featured aluxurious and spacious interior and, unusually for a Ferrari, theboot could accommodate a set of golf clubs. The 550 has a tubularsteel frame chassis with light, aluminium bodywork and has enjoyeda great amount of success on the racing circuits, often incollaboration with Prodrive. Ferrari sent a slightly 'souped-up'version to an oval test track in Columbus, Ohio and set three newworld records as follows:• Covering 100 miles at an average speed of 190.2mph. • Driving for one hour at an average speed of 184mph. • Covering 100 kilometres at 188.9mph.To celebrate these records, Ferrari built 33 road cars to theexact specification of the record-setting car. The differences overthe standard car are the Fiorano handling pack, leather-trimmedroll cage, suede-covered steering wheel and carbon bucket seatswith Daytona stitching and race harnesses. Other changes includedthe Scuderia wing shields, sports exhaust, brake calipers in RossoCorsa red, Bordeaux carpets and a WSR plaque. The majority of 550 World Speed Record examples were finished inGrigio Titanio with Bordeaux trim; this example is unusuallyfinished in Rosso with black interior. Recently imported into theUK from Italy, this Ferrari is in unmarked condition and hasclearly been highly cherished. The red coachwork appears to becompletely original, as is the sumptuous interior. The enginestarted immediately when requested and the exhaust note negates anyneed for a radio. This 550 is unregistered in the UK although theall-important NOVA document is present and Historics can assist inregistering the car in the UK if necessary. Due to the rarity ofthe Ferrari 550 World Speed Record Edition, this lefthand drive, low mileage example is most definitely an investment opportunityand one for the serious Ferrari collectors.?

Ferrari 308GTSi Quattrovalvole

Lot # 243 (Sale Order: 43 of 127)

Introduced in October 1975 at the Paris Salon, the 308GTB was animportant car not just for Ferrari but for stylists Pininfarina aswell. Keen to re-establish their monopoly on the Prancing Horse, they strove to produce a truly iconic design. In the eyes of many, they succeeded and certainly Maranello have not strayed since.Initially clad with glassfibre panels the 308GTB adopted steelbodywork in 1977. Carrying its transversely-mounted 3.0 litre, V8engine and five-speed manual gearbox amidships, the model'sexcellent handling was extensively praised by the contemporarymotoring press. Gaining a 'Spider' sibling two years after launch, growing environmental concerns saw the 'junior' supercar adoptBosch fuel injection in March 1981 at the cost of some fortyhorsepower. Worried about the consequent loss of performance,Maranello executive, Eugenio Alzati, resolved to give the 90-degree'quad-cam' 2926cc unit its teeth back. Announced in October 1982,the new QV or 'quattrovalvole' variant was a revelation. Sporting -as its name suggests - four-valve cylinder heads, it was creditedwith developing some 240bhp and 192lbft of torque. Emissionsfriendly, it nevertheless boasted less noise, more power and betterthrottle response than its predecessor. Reputedly capable of0-60mph in 5.7 seconds and 158mph, the QV cars once again had theraw speed to match their sublime looks. The new model could berecognised by the addition of a slim louvered panel in the frontlid to aid radiator exhaust air exit, power operated mirrorscarrying a small enamel Ferrari badge and a redesigned radiatorgrille with rectangular driving lights on each side. The interioralso received some minor updates, such as a satin black three spokesteering wheel with triangular centre and cloth seat centres becameavailable as an option to the standard full leather.Originally a righthand drive example supplied by Greypaul, thisQuattrovalvole was purchased by the vendor in 2008 and subsequentlyrestored over a number of years. The body, drivetrain and enginewere all overhauled  with new paint and replacement partswherever required. The interior is in excellent condition and itsits on slightly larger, although genuine, wheels and tyres. Theoriginal are also included in the sale. The extremely low mileagerecorded is believed to be genuine and checks correctly againstolder paperwork and receipts. It comes complete with an MoT testcertificate valid until September 2016 with no advisories as wellas its most recent outing at the 2012 Ferrari Owners' Club ConcoursD'elegance where it scored 82.89%. The service history book is alsoincluding showing regular visits during the first five years of itslife. Specialist maintenance then took over and just this month itunderwent a full major service (with cambelts) at Ferrarispecialist, Autofficina in Surrey. This much loved example ispriced competitively and represents the most advanced 'four valvesper cylinder' technology to go into this model not to mention oneof the most provocative profiles in Ferrari's design history.?

Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster

Lot # 244 (Sale Order: 44 of 127)

Launched at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, the Jaguar E-Type3.8-Litre was nothing short of a revelation. With its heady blendof supercar performance, breathtaking styling and low price tag,the newcomer left rivals reeling and customers clamoring. Earlysportscar racing success at the hands of Graham Hill and RoySalvadori, amongst others, helped cement its reputation. In 1968and due largely to US regulations, the E-Type underwent severaldesign changes and improvements. The new Series II Jaguar E-Typecan be identified by its open headlights without glass covers, awrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned larger front indicators, tail lights below the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged'mouth' with twin electric fans, and up-rated brakes. The engine iseasily identified visually by the change from smooth polished camcovers to a more industrial 'ribbed' appearance. The interior anddashboard were also re-designed, with rocker switches beingsubstituted for toggle switches. Head restraints, a collapsiblesteering column and an all synchromesh gearbox improved safety andcomfort for the occupants. This four owner, Series II E-Type roadster was originallysupplied by PJ Evans, Birmingham and was taken by the first ownerMr. William Kirkpatrick to Northern Ireland in September 1978. Mr.Kirkpatrick owned the car for eighteen years before selling it toMr. Charles Pollock in August 1988. In June 1989 the E-Type went toJC Restorations for a full restoration, changing the colour fromits original blue to Signal Red however, just prior tocompletion,  Mr Pollock unfortunately passed away and the carwas put into dry storage for approximately the next fourteen years. The next owner, Mr Harold McGarrity, bought the car in October 2007and used it for over two years before it was purchased by thecurrent vendor in January 2010 and repatriated back to England. InJuly of the same year, the vendor was not happy with the gearboxand clutch and was recommended by the Jaguar Club to go to WatjagLtd in Derby to have a new gearbox fitted. After an inspectionwhich showed that the restoration work on the body had been done tothe highest of standards, it was decided to complete therestoration. This resulted in a complete engine re-build includingnew cylinder liners, a new T5 five-speed gearbox, new clutch, arear end removal and overhaul, radiator rebuild (which was laterreplaced with a new one) and various other improvements. All thiswork cost over £18,500; money the vendor says was well spent as itdrives perfectly. Since this car has been in his ownership it hasbeen meticulously maintained and he has kept a record of the timesit was wax-oiled, serviced and taken out to Jaguar and classic carevents. This 1970 Series II Roadster, finished in Signal Red with beigeleather seats, is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoTtest certificate which expires in March 2016 and a large filecontaining old log books, MoTs, a Jaguar Daimler Heritagecertificate, various photographs and a file of invoices dating from2010. This is in superb condition throughout and is the perfect carfor someone looking for a roadster to drive and enjoy.?

Ford Escort RS2000 Mk. I

Lot # 245 (Sale Order: 45 of 127)

The Mk. I Ford Escort was introduced in the UK at the end of1967, making its show debut at Brussels Motor Show in January 1968and replacing the successful long running Anglia. Escorts becamesuccessful as a rally car and eventually went on to become one ofthe most successful rally cars of all time. The Ford works team waspractically unbeatable in the late 1960's and early 1970's;arguably the Escort's greatest victory was in the 1970 London toMexico World Cup Rally being driven by Finnish legend, HannuMikkola. This gave rise to the Escort Mexico special edition roadversions in honour of the rally car. In addition to the Mexico, theRS1600 was developed which used a Kent engine block with a 16-valveCosworth cylinder head. As well as higher performance engines andsports suspension, these models featured strengthened bodyshells, making them ideal for rallying. Ford also produced an RS2000 modelas an alternative to the somewhat temperamental RS1600, featuring atwo litre Pinto engine. This also chalked up some rally and racingvictories and pre-empted the hot-hatch market as a desirable butaffordable performance road car. This genuine RS2000 was restored over a long period andcompleted in 2006.  The restoration was carried out byrenowned Escort specialists CWC Restorations and the quality has tobe seen to be fully appreciated; however, the fact the car has wona number of significant awards in recent times is an indication tothe calibre of this rare and desirable classic Ford. Our inspectionconfirmed YFX 748M to be of exceptional standard and the fastidiousvendor has kept her in concours condition under his stewardship. The blue paintwork is unmarked as is the black interior; the underbonnet area is comparable to the rest of the car with everywherepresenting in superb order. Supplied with a V5 document and an MoTtest certificate valid until 20th May 2016, togetherwith two comprehensive history folders. Escort RS2000's are rareand with classic Ford values increasing significantly of late, thismagnificent example is sure to whet the appetite of the seriouscollector.

Ferrari 360 Modena Spider

Lot # 246 (Sale Order: 46 of 127)

The Ferrari 360 is a two-seater sports car manufactured from1999 to 2005. It succeeded the Ferrari F355 and is a mid-engined,rear wheel drive, V8-powered coupé. Ferrari partnered with Alcoa toproduce an entirely new, all aluminium space-frame chassis that was40% stiffer than the F355. Along with a lightweight frame, the newPininfarina body styling deviated from traditions of the previousdecade's sharp angles and flip-up headlights. The new V8 engineutilises a 3.6 litre capacity and, despite seemingly modest gains,in reality the power to weight ratio was significantly improved. The first model to be rolled out was the 360 Modena followed laterby the 360 Spider and finally as a special edition, the ChallengeStradale; there were 8,800 Modena's and 7,565 Spiders produced intotal. This Ferrari is a unique vehicle in respect of the condition andmileage. Our inspection confirmed this 360 to be totally originaland in 'as new' condition in every aspect. The paintwork andinterior remain as pristine as the day it was built and incredibly, the car has covered a mere 81 miles since being registered on24th January 2005. Perhaps even more impressive is thecomprehensive service history that accompanies this Ferrari:Mileage                          DateServiced                  Serviced by59 (PDI)                       31/12/2004                    Graypaul FerrariNottingham65                                26/05/2006                   Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham67 + Cambelts              27/06/2007                    Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham71                                30/07/2010                   Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham72                                02/08/2011                   Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham73                                18/02/2012                   Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham74 + Cambelts              04/11/2013                    Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham75                                25/09/2014                    Graypaul Ferrari Nottingham76                                03/08/2015                    JCT600 Ferrari LeedsThe original service book is fully stamped confirming the aboveand there is also an MoT test history print out; the current MoTtest certificate is valid until 30th July 2016. Porsche 911 Speedster (3.2 litre Turbo body)

Lot # 247 (Sale Order: 47 of 127)

The 356 Speedster has long occupied a small but perfectly formedslot in the Porsche hall of fame, particularly in America where itfused post-war Teutonic efficiency with Fifties glam Americana. Itwas Porsche's US importer who suggested the idea; a simple, nofrills take on the then current 356 model ideally suited to thesun-kissed environment of California. To market the car at a moreaffordable price, Porsche stripped all unnecessary comforts fromwithin, fitted bucket seats and not much else, and gave it the bareminimum of weather protection. The result was not only adistinctive and hugely popular car but also one that, thanks to itskeen power to weight ratio, was often to be found in minor sportscar races on the weekends. Jump forward a few decades and a more upto date version appeared using the next legendary modelnomenclature. The 911 Speedster, a low-roof version of theCabriolet, was produced in limited numbers (2104) starting inJanuary 1989 until July 1989 as both a narrow body car and aturbo-look.This Porsche Speedster is a one-owner vehicle and was suppliedin the UK on 1st June 1989 by Porsche GB. When commissioned, this911 was built with air conditioning, electric windows and a rearspoiler. In addition to these items, all of the dashboard gaugeshave been exquisitely trimmed in leather. The odometer reading of18,929km is correct and supported by the necessary service books;the car has been serviced by Porsche GB, Porsche in Stuttgart andPorsche in Reading. Finished in black with contrasting red leatherinterior, F318 SHM is in superb order throughout and is clearly avery well cared for example. With 911 Speedsters in high demandthis lefthand drive, 3.2 Turbo Body Porsche is sure to appeal toboth the prudent investor and Porsche enthusiastalike.?

Bentley T1 Saloon

Lot # 248 (Sale Order: 48 of 127)

Predating Bentley's 1980s resurgence, the T1 was produced in farfewer numbers than the equivalent Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, theratio being 11:1 in the Shadow's favour and is considerably rarertoday. On the road, the T-Series afforded its owners the advantageof an eye-line higher than that of most other cars giving itsoccupants a commanding view of their surroundings whileelectrically adjustable seats ensured unrivalled comfort. Summingup the ownership experience in 1989, 'Classic & Sportscar'observed: 'There's plenty of pleasure to be had from driving aSilver Shadow or T1, probably at town speeds more than anything. You learn to cope with its size very quickly. It soothes its driverlike no other car.'This extremely well presented example benefits from a full fileof all its construction and test records supplied from theRolls-Royce Enthusiasts' Club. It was originally sold through JackBarclay in London to John King of Melton Mowbray. With just threeprevious owners since then, it was sourced from Ireland by itscurrent keeper in a less than perfect state. It then benefittedfrom restorative work to include completely new sills and wheelarches, a full tip-to-toe re-paint in the original Velvet Greencolour and renovated door-cappings and dash. The interior retainsthe correct picnic tables and foot rests as well as the originalpatina sometimes lost with less sympathetic restorations.
