Lancia Aurelia B52 Rosa d'Oro

Lot # 23 (Sale Order: 26 of 55)

Lancia followed prewar tradition by supplying a limited number of rolling chassis to renowned coachbuilders such as Ghia and Vignale, but it was mainly Pinin Farina that clothed the majority of the bare B52 chassis. One of these was built in the manner of the car that won the Golden Rose at the elite Concours d'Elegance in Geneva in 1952.That car still exists, together with at least one of its sisters. Nobody knows exactly how many Rosa d'Oros were built some sources say two additional examples, some say five or six but the evidence suggests that just two remain. After a thorough restoration this car passed into the hands of Belgian classic car dealer Bernard Marreyt, who sold it to the present vendor in 2011.The B52 Rosa d'Oro with its robust dimensions, combines impeccable style with something that could only be Italian. It can't have been an easy task for Pinin Farina to build an elegant coupe, its muscles appear to tense and the cellulite in its figure falls away, and with its pillarless windows offering wind in the hair driving. The dashboard with its twocolour design and round dials is breathtaking. The car drives tightly through corners thanks to its suspension, and it moves with the grandeur and comfort befitting a conveyance that is meant for royalty. One of the car's curiosities is that behind the generous front bench seat there are only folding seats. Finished in cream with a black roof and tan hide interior, this wonderful example is one of just three cars built in this body style. A car for the true connoisseur it would be a welcome entrant at a host of global Concours D' Elegance, simply unique.View 1952 Lancia Aurelia B52 œRosa d'Oro on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1952lanciaaureliab52rosadoro for further details.

Maserati Bora

Lot # 24 (Sale Order: 27 of 55)

Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 1971, Maserati's new Bora, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, was intended to be a midengined grand tourer. While midengined cars had proven to be wonderful sports cars but quirky and somewhat compromising as grand tourers, the Bora sought to bring sophistication to the midengined platform. Offering contemporary styling with a comfortable cabin, usable trunk, and fourwheel independent suspension, the Bora quickly proved itself to be a compelling alternative to a Ferrari, Porsche, or Lamborghini.Utilizing Maserati's familiar 4.7litre fourcam V8 engine, the Bora was fitted with a fivespeed ZF transaxle. With 310 horsepower on tap, performance was brisk with a 0“100 kmh time of 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 260 kmh. Due to Maserati's partnership with Citroén, the Bora utilized a handful of components from the French manufacturer.Notably, the Bora utilized hydraulic components from Citroén, namely its hydraulically operated brakes, popup headlamps, driver's seat, and adjustable pedal box. From 1971 to 1978, just 564 Boras were produced. In addition, only 289 of these were fitted with the 4.7litre engine, including the example presented here.Supplied new in the UK, this particular Bora was built in 1973 with the 4.7litre engine and is a very rare righthand drive example. This model is finished in its original colour scheme of red with black leather interior. The car spent several years in the ownership of Maserati UK as part of their private collection before being bought by the current vendor in 2005.Since then the car has been kept in a private showroom and used sparingly, with the odometer reading less than 30,000 miles from new. The vendor describes this matching numbers example to be in a very good condition all round and running well. The original interior exudes a lovely patina and has been carefully maintained. There is an extensive history file consisting of the original owner's manual, service history, a current MOT certificate as well as several older ones and V5C registration document. Reportedly one of only eleven Bora's left in the UK and one of even fewer right hand drive examples, this Bora represents a unique opportunity to acquire a very rare 70's grand tourer.View 1973 Maserati Bora on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1973maseratibora for further details.

Lamborghini Countach Anniversary

Lot # 25 (Sale Order: 28 of 55)

Few would deny that Lamborghini's Countach is the quintessential supercar of its era. It was built by a talented and passionate team of designers and engineers with the purpose of being the most extrovert and outrageous of cars available for the street. As a replacement for the fabulous Miura this was a tall order, but there can be no doubt that it succeeded and even today, though there are more modern cars and faster cars, the Countach will draw people's attention like nothing else. The stunning styling was by Bertone's Marcello Gandini and when the first prototype was revealed as project 112, one of the factory workers exclaimed Countach, a local Piemontese expletive, politely translated as Wow The name stuck.Incorporating much race car technology, it was an automotive tour de force. With its backtofront, longitudinally mounted, V12 engine and gearbox, independent double wishbone suspension all round and rigid space frame, it was easily the fastest production car around, reaching a claimed 190mph. Like its predecessor, the car quickly found favour with enthusiastic drivers and wealthy playboys alike. One of Lamborghini's most loyal customers was Formula One race team owner, Walter Wolf, who owned several examples, one of which was modified for him by the factory to be quicker still. Suspension revisions allowed the fitting of much wider wheels mounted with Pirelli's brand new P7 tyre, designed especially for this car. Flared wheel arches sprouted from the flanks and at the front an air dam was fitted, while a huge delta wing sprouted from the rear bootlid. With engine modifications, Wolf reckoned his car was fast enough to be competitive at Le Mans. Lessons learned from Wolf's car were put into practice with the introduction of the S variant, essentially a cosmetic replica. 667 units came off the production line at Sant Agata before the Diablo was scheduled to replace it in 1990.It wasn't ready however so the ˜Anniversario' stepped up to the plate. Based on the current QV chassis, much had changed. The front and rear bumpers were redesigned, now with extra cooling vents for the front brakes. Sills had additional cooling streaks for the rear brakes and more cooling could be found on the rear shoulders. The suspension was modified in order to accommodate the new Pirelli P Zero tyres and OZ splitrim wheels and all modifications were executed under the watchful eye of champion racing driver, Sandro Munari.Purchased in August 1990 directly from the factory, this fabulous matching numbers example of the 25th Anniversary was owned by the same enthusiast from 1990 to 2015. The Countach has now covered c. 650 kilometres from new, at the hands of two owners, and has enjoyed a comprehensive service by the Lamborghini Centre Belgium, to the tune of ‚18,000. Offered with both keys, relevant Lamborghini Manuals, Service Book and proof of matching numbers, this is effectively a brand new, barely run in Lamborghini Countach. A once in a lifetime opportunity for the true enthusiast.View 1990 Lamborghini Countach Anniversary on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1990lamborghinicountachanniversary3 for further details.

Mercedes-Benz 230SL

Lot # 26 (Sale Order: 29 of 55)

In March 1963 the 230SL made its debut at the Geneva Show, replacing the much acclaimed 190SL and 300SL models. Like its 190SL predecessor, its mechanical elements were derived from a contemporary saloon, in this instance the popular 220SE model. The 230SL's 2.3litre engine was an enlarged version of its fuel injected six cylinder overhead camshaft unit and there was the option of automatic or manual transmission. Suspension was all independent with a low pivot swing axle at the rear. Mercedes engineering integrity, together with elegance and practicality, made the pagoda top SL cars among the most distinctive designs of the era, in closed form offering handsome proportions and coupelike comfort and with the hard top removed offering lively opentop performance. It is largely thanks to these attributes that they remain so universally popular today and command such a large market following. These popular Mercedes sports cars are very much in demand today and this example is no exception. Formerly in the ownership of the Getty Family, this example was subject to a costnoobject restoration and upgraded to 280 specifications by marque specialists Silchester Garage. With photographs and invoices to document works carried out, including disc brakes, automatic transmission, power steering, 280 engine upgrade and air conditioning. The car has recently been subject to tuning by MercedesBenz specialist Steve Refearn.Finished in Midnight Blue with black leather interior, this is a unique example of one of the most influential sports cars of the 1960's, with ownership from one of the world's best know families, and a no expense spared restoration.View 1964 MercedesBenz 230SL to 280SL Specification on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1964mercedesbenz230slto280slspecification for further details.

Pontiac Trans AM

Lot # 27 (Sale Order: 30 of 55)

The Pontiac Firebird was introduced in February, 1967, 5 months after its Chevrolet Camaro corporate twin was introduced. The Firebird, along with the Camaro, was GM's answer to the astoundingly successful Ford Mustang, and were known as Fbodies. The Firebird would ultimately be offered in a few different variants, not the least of which was the successful and iconic Trans Am model. The 455 engine available in the second generation Firebird Trans Am was arguably the last highperformance engine of the original muscle car generation. The 455 cu in 7.5 L engine made its first appearance in the Firebird in 1971 as the 455HO, which continued through the 1972 model year. The 455 engine was a game changer for Nascar, it was the seed for the motor used in the Nascar Pontiac motor division of which 180 race prepared engines were made. This top of the range variant of the Pontiac Firebird, provided with the 7.5L 455 engine, was delivered new to Belgium. Presented in its very rare colour scheme the car includes the original noneagle bonnet which was original to the European specification models. The Trans Am on offer has come from single ownership for many years and has been maintained and used regularly. Presented in good allround condition the example on offer still maintains its striking and aggressive looks, the car is as at home on the streets of London as it is on the startline of Santa Pod.View 1973 Pontiac Trans AM on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1973pontiactransam for further details.

Ferrari 246GT Dino

Lot # 28 (Sale Order: 31 of 55)

This classic and nowadays much soughtafter Ferrari was named after Enzo Ferrari's son Alfredino, who died in 1956, aged 24. Enzo Ferrari credits his son with the inspiration for a series of successful small and medium capacity V6 racing engines built by Ferrari from 1956, and in turn the name was given to a new line of midengined production Ferrari V6 coupés which first went on sale in 1969 in twolitre form. The definitive 246 Dino, with its 2.4 litre V6, appeared in late 1969 and fewer than 4,000 were built about 1,200 of them the detachable roof Spyder version before introduction of the slightly larger, and completely restyled V8 engined 308 Dino in 1973.The delightful bodywork was designed by Pininfarina, and was built in steel by Scaglietti. It covered a straightforward chassis of tubular steel which carried wishbone independent suspension at each corner. The compact engine, with four chaindriven overhead camshafts, was mounted transversely above fivespeed gearbox and just ahead of the rear axle line, allowing both a comfortable cockpit and usable boot space.Delivered to the UK importer Maranello Concessionaires in April of 1973, the Eseries Dino presented here was specified in Rosso Chiaro with a Nero interior, and the factory option of electric windows. The first owner was Lord Maxwell Aitken, son of Lord Beaverbrook and later to become a high profile businessman and politician. Lord Aitken took delivery of his brand new Ferrari on July 20th 1973 and enjoyed it through the remaining summer and autumn of that year, before trading the car back with Maranello who retailed the Dino to a Mr. Ferris of Putney in January of 1974.Showing now a mere 33,000 miles recorded with a mere 300 having been covered in the last 9 years, this beautiful original Dino is offered with a detailed file documenting its history, and has recently benefitted from a thorough inspection, the replacement of the original rubber suspension bushes with a polyurethane bush kit to improve ride quality and tautness, replacement door seals and hoses as a precautionary measure, and a full service. As testament to the care lavished upon the Dino over the years, chassis 06208 is offered with a thick file of documents and invoices which chart and support its history. Supplied with a copy of the original order sheet and bill of sale to Lord Max Aitkin, also jack, tools and handbooks, and offered with a new UK MoT certificate, this must be one of the nicest Dinos we have seen for some time.View 1973 Ferrari 246GT Dino on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1973ferrari246gtdino for further details.

Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 Roadster

Lot # 29 (Sale Order: 32 of 55)

Apart from the engine and transmission, Jaguar's EType was all new. Introduced at Geneva in March 1961, it combined a multitube front chassis with a monocoque centre section. Front suspension was similar to the predecessor XK150's wishbones and torsion bars, but the rear was revolutionary. Comprising transverse lower links and fixedlength driveshafts, its wheels were suspended on coil springshock absorber units, two to a side. The differential was mounted to a hefty steel crossmember and hosted inboard disk brakes. Antiroll bars were installed front and rear.At 2,520 pounds, it was 500 pounds lighter than the XK150 and more powerful to boot. The 3.8 liter twin cam engine was fed through three SU sidedraft carbs and developed 265 bhp. A top speed of 150mph was easily achieved with the standard 3.31 to 1 gearing, and some speculated that optional taller gears would be good for more. In its day, the EType was bested only by Ferraris and the MercedesBenz 300SL.This wonderfully presented example rolled off the production line on March 19th 1968 and was offered at Jaguar main Dealer Henlys of London. The current vendor acquired the car in 1983 as the fourth owner and in 1989 the car was treated to a meticulous restoration including a bare metal respray and much mechanical work which is documented in the history file with many bills and invoices of parts as well as pictures of the restoration process.During the vendors ownership the car has been used regularly including many tours throughout Europe and such there have been a number of important upgrades added to this example. Uprated front 4 pot and rear 3 pot brake callipers, Kenlowe radiator fan and the desirable five speed Tremec T5 gearbox. Presented in the original midnight blue and black leather interior the car is fitted with its original engine as well as a Jaguar factory hood. The body presents very well with no rust and still wears the body tag which is presented at the rear of the car. The panel fittings are good and the paintwork shows very few minor blemishes. The comprehensive history file includes invoices for all work that has been carried out in the vendors ownership including full Mot history dating back to 1983. In good allround condition this highly original example is ready to use and is offered with an MoT until April 2018 and the original matching gearbox.View 1968 Jaguar EType Series 1.5 Roadster on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1968jaguaretypeseries15roadster2 for further details.

*Regretfully Withdrawn* Mercedes-Benz 540K

Lot # 30 (Sale Order: 33 of 55)

Introduced at the 1936 Paris Motor Show, the Friedrich Geiger designed car was a development to the 500K, itself a development of the SSK. Available as a twoseater cabriolet, four seater coupé or seven seater limousine with armoured sides and armoured glass, it was one of the largest cars of the time. The Sindelfingen factory, where this exclusive bodywork was created, employed 1,500 people to create the 540K for some of the world's wealthiest and most famous, such as Jack L. Warner of Warner Brothers, and allowed a great deal of individual customisation.Rolling off the assembly line in Sidelfingen in 1937, it is confirmed by the factory records that 169355 is an original 540K Cabriolet A that was delivered new to Berlin on the 2nd of July 1937.It was shortly after WorldWar II that the car was purchased by Editoriale Domus on behalf of Gianinni Mazzocci, “ founder of Quattroruote, who purchased the car as one of the main features of his prestigious car collection. There it remained completely unmolested until in 1966, when the car was recommissioned to allow for participation in numerous classic car events. As time passed, it was becoming clear that 169355 was in need of a thorough restoration and by its 57th birthday in 1993, it had been decided. The comprehensive restoration that would be to last over ten years was entrusted to none other than specialist Vittorio Klun of Milan, under the close scrutiny of Frederick Robutti, “ head of the Quattroruote Museum. Restoration work included work to the car's ash wood body frame and brightwork. The original body was in excellent condition and was simply stripped and repainted, and the mechanics were rebuilt as new.Only at this point did it become clear that white was not the original colour. In several places on the body, clear traces of two shades of blue were found proving that the car was originally finished in the twotone it is seen in today.Fabio Calligaris, owner of the renowned trimming specialists Grantusimo, was entrusted with the restoration of all the interior of the car including the roof.Obviously the car is desirable being an original Cabriolet A, but being in single ownership from shortly after WWII to date, this could arguably be the only surviving Cabriolet A with such impeccable ownership provenance. In the late thirties there was nothing on the road that surpassed the MercedesBenz 540K for style, image, effect, and performance, and resultantly it is known by the world to be the first supercar ever made. That statement is no less true today, particularly in the case of this exceptional example.View 1937 MercedesBenz 540K Cabriolet A on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1937mercedesbenz540kcabrioleta for further details.

Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Litre Fixed Head Coupe

Lot # 31 (Sale Order: 34 of 55)

The Series 1 was introduced, initially for export only, in March 1961. The domestic market launch came four months later in July 1961. The cars at this time used the triple SU carburetted 3.8 litre sixcylinder Jaguar XK6 engine from the XK150S. The 3.8litre engine was increased to 4.2 litres in October 1964.The Series 1 can be recognised by glasscovered headlights up to 1967, small œmouth opening at the front, signal lights and taillights above bumpers and exhaust tips under the number plate in the rear. 4.2litre cars have more comfortable seats, improved brakes and electrical systems, and an allsynchromesh fourspeed gearbox. Optional extras included chrome spoked wheels and a detachable hard top for the OTS.The Series 1 4.2 offered here has been modified to a fast road example and is fitted with sports triple Webber Carburetors for intake and a tubular stainless steel manifold for the exhaust. It also has an uprated aluminium radiator with thermostatic control, probably as much for beauty as for functionality This car really is the subject of much recent work which whilst not exhaustive include a full retrim and respray, a new steering rack, hoses, belts, chrome work, door handles, lights, engine mounts, plugs, leads, waterpump, sump, bushes, ball joints, brakes and servo, reaction valve “ the list goes on. In fact the vendor estimates that well over 20,000 has been spent in 2017 alone. The car is supported by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, recent MOT and V5C registration. Believed by many to be the most desirable model, retaining the beauty of the early cars while benefitting from the later modifications, this car represents an excellent opportunity to own one of Jaguar's best.View 1968 Jaguar EType Series 1 4.2 Fixed Head Coupe on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1968jaguaretypeseries142fixedheadcoupe for further details.

Porsche 356 Coupe

Lot # 32 (Sale Order: 35 of 55)

Introduced in 1948, the Porsche Type 356 is acknowledged to be one of the world's greatest sports cars. Over a 15year production run, the handsome and durable 356 evolved from a streamlined little aluminiumbodied coupe powered by a VWderived, 46bhp 1,100cc aircooled flat four to a powerful autobahn burner with a 130bhp 2litre 4cam boxer Carrera engine. Over time came coupes, luxurious cabriolets and more spartan Speedsters and Roadsters, and more than 76,000 were built by the time production ceased in 1965.By the time the 356B arrived in September 1959, Porsche's first sports car had gained a onepiece rounded windscreen and 15inch wheels, along with further styling revisions and a 1,600cc engine. Outwardly very similar to the final 356B, the ultimate 356C model arrived in 1963 sporting disc brakes all round first seen on the 2litre Carrera 2, a new ZF steering gear and a compensating spring at the rear to calm the swing axle rear suspension. Engines options were the 75bhp ˜C' and the 95bhp ˜SC', both 1,600cc, the latter replacing the Super 90 model.Finished in the original paint colour of Signal red with black leatherette and rare factory headrest, this delightful example was delivered new in 1965 and has recently enjoyed a thorough groundup restoration that has taken numerous years, and is supported by detailed documentation recording most of the work that has been undertaken. Also included in the cars history file is a Porsche COA confirming it's a fully matching numbers car.View 1965 Porsche 356 Coupe on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1965porsche356coupe for further details.

Jaguar E-Type Lightweight

Lot # 33 (Sale Order: 36 of 55)

The elevation of the GT class to Manufacturers' Championship status for 1963 prompted Jaguar to develop a small batch of very special lightweight cars to challenge Ferrari. The FIA's regulations for the Gran Turismo category stipulated that a minimum of 100 cars had to be built, but permitted coachwork modifications, thus enabling Jaguar to claim that its lightweights were standard Etypes fitted with altered bodywork. This is the same loophole exploited by Ferrari to get the limited edition 250 GTO homologated, by claiming that they were rebodied 250 GTs. In fact, all 12 lightweight ETypes constructed in period were built from scratch with aluminium bodies, though they were invoiced as a new standard road car with additional modifications and numbered in the normal production sequence, albeit with an ˜S' chassis number prefix. To create the 1963 lightweight version, the EType's steel monocoque tub and outer body panels were remanufactured in aluminium and the engine drysumped and fitted with an alloy cylinder block, ˜wideangle' head and Lucas mechanical fuel injection, producing in excess of 300bhp. The production fourspeed gearbox was used initially before a ZF fivespeed unit was adopted towards the end of 1963. ˜4 WPD', the works development EType racer campaigned by John Coombs and driven by Graham Hill, was converted to lightweight specification and served as the prototype. The 12 cars built by the factory were intended for the use of competition orientated Jaguar dealers or specially selected private entrants. Today, modern interpretations of these rare competition variants are among the most popular and sought after of all ETypes. This beautiful matching numbers UK delivered example had been subject to a œnut and bolt rebuild to SemiLightweight specification, which was completed to a very high standard. The body was rebuilt and finished by Brian Wilkinson of Zealia Engineering, very well known and highly regarded for his accurate recreations of the factory Lightweight cars.During the build the doors, boot, bonnet and roof were replaced with lightweight aluminium items, and both side and rear windows replaced with Perspex screens. As in period, the correct air vents were added to the roof and boot, and the wheelarches extended with correct extensions as per Le Mans regulations. Finally, aluminium buckets seats, clad in periodcorrect blue leather, were fitted to the interior, whilst a set of magnesium knockoff wheels complete the exterior of the car.Mechanically the EType enjoyed many raceorientated upgrades. Notably the original 4.2 litre motor was fully rebuilt by Rob Beere and mated to triple Weber carburettors, breathing through a stainless steel freeflowing manifold and full stainless exhaust. Twin fuel pumps were fitted, in addition to an oil cooler, breather tank and aluminium radiator to improve engine cooling. The braking system was also upgraded and the suspension was also improved with a new adjustable setup. This wonderful EType has been completed to an exceptionally high standard, is licenced for the road and presented in truly outstanding condition. So much so that the car won œBest In Class at the Warren Concours in 2016, and was invited to be displayed at the Hampton Court Concours in September 2017.With c.5,000 miles recorded since completion, this is an extremely fast, well balanced car with upgrades that inspire confidence to drive the car at ten tenths. A mouthwatering prospect for the EType enthusiast and an amazing road car for any keen driver. Chassis IE20883 will be offered with a current UK MoT certificate, UK V5 document and Jaguar Heritage Certificate.View 1965 Jaguar EType Series 1 on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1965jaguaretypeseries12 for further details.

Aston Martin DB6 Volante

Lot # 34 (Sale Order: 37 of 55)

Considered by many to be the last ˜real' Aston Martin, the DB6 was launched in 1965, updating the DB5. Although Royal patronage of the marque undoubtedly helped DB6 sales, the car arrived at a difficult time for Aston Martin, with the home economy in a parlous state and the US market subject to evermore restrictive legislation.Though recognisably related to its Touringstyled DB4 ancestor, the DB6 abandoned the underlying Superleggera body structure of its predecessors in favour of a conventional steel fabrication while retaining the aluminium outer panels. Somewhat confusingly, ˜Superleggera' badges continued to be applied for a time, presumably until stocks ran out. The wheelbase was now 4 100mm longer than before, resulting in an extensive restyle with moreraked windscreen, raised roofline and reshaped rear quarter windows. Opening front quarter lights made a reappearance but the major change was at the rear where a Kammstyle tail with spoiler improved the aerodynamics, greatly enhancing stability at high speeds. ˜The tail lip halves the aerodynamic lift around maximum speed and brings in its train greater headroom and more luggage space,' declared Motor magazine, concluding that the DB6 was one of the finest sports cars it had ever tested. The Tadek Marekdesigned sixcylinder engine had been enlarged to 3,995cc for the preceding DB5 and remained unchanged. Power output on triple SU carburettors was 282bhp, rising to 325bhp in Vantage specification. BorgWarner automatic transmission was offered alongside the standard ZF fivespeed gearbox, and for the first time there was optional powerassisted steering.Premiered at the 1965 London Motor Show, the convertible DB6 marked the first occasion the evocative ˜Volante' name had been applied to a softtop Aston Martin. After 37 Volante convertibles had been completed on the DB5 shortwheelbase chassis, the model adopted the longer DB6 chassis in October 1966, first appearing in its definitive form at the London Motor Show. The stylish Volante offered fourseat accommodation and was generously appointed with leather upholstery, deeppile carpets, an aircraftstyle instrument cluster and an electrically operated hood.In the summer of 1969 the Mark 2 DB6 was announced in saloon and convertible versions. Distinguishable by its flared wheel arches and DBS wheels, the DB6 Mark 2 came with powerassisted steering as standard and could be ordered with AE Brico electronic fuel injection. Between 1965 and 1970 when production ceased a total of 1,575 DB6 saloons was completed. During this time the factory made only 178 of the longwheelbase Volantes and today these rare cars are among the most sought after of David Brownera Aston Martins. One of only 140 Volantespecification examples of the DB6, this wonderful motor car was first registered by H.R.Owen to a Mr. I.M. Stoller of London W1 in September of 1968, ordered in Platinum with a Dark Blue leather interior and convertible roof. It is believed Mr. Stoller exported his beloved Aston abroad for a number of years before the car was repatriated in 1979 and via Mr. Philip Hatulja sold to a Mr. Graham Wilkins, who owned the DB6 for a further 7 years before selling to specialist R.S. Williams in 1986. R.S. Williams sold the DB6 in 1987 to a Mr. Giles Swarbeck, who owned the Aston for a further 7 years before passing to Mr. Mogens Skjelmose, who enjoyed his Aston for a further 5 years before selling to Richard Meins, a wellknown participant in historic motorsport, who went on to own the car into the 2000s. The current owner, a prolific collector and enthusiast with a comprehensive collection, has decided after a few years of enjoyable ownership to hand his DB6 over to a new custodian.Finished in Oxford Blue with a matching blue leather interior and hood, the DB6 has enjoyed an older restoration which has mellowed beautifully in the intervening years. The Aston is offered with a comprehensive history file containing a number of current and older registration documents, a copy of the original build sheet, current and older MoT certificates, and copies of invoices for previous works completed from the likes of specialists such as Desmond Smail, and Ken Shergold amongst others.Ready to be driven and enjoyed, this elegant softtop Aston Martin is surely the perfect way to enjoy the wonderful summer months.View 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Volante on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1966astonmartindb6volante for further details.

Austin Healey 100 M Specification

Lot # 35 (Sale Order: 38 of 55)

These were cars that an upper middleclass owner could drive to work and rally or race on the weekends. But they weren't cheap. Next came the NashHealey sports car. But despite modestly pricedrunning gear from the American independent manufacturer, the chassis, suspension and coachwork still resulted in a car that cost more than 4,000.Healey was well aware that he needed a car that could be built in larger numbers and sold at a lower price in the rapidly emerging sports car market in the new world. MG and Jaguar were selling the bulk of their production to North America and Triumph was readying the TR2. Using the fourcylinder 2.6 litre Austin A90 engine and transmission, as well as other components from the parts bin of newlyformed BMC a merger of the Austin and NuffieldMorris companies, Healey produced a sleek and beautiful prototype styled by Gerry Coker. Healey showed his œHealey Hundred at the 1952 Earls Court Motor Show in the UK and caught the eye of BMC supreme Leonard Lord.Again, Healey's timing was perfect. Lord selected his car over a new MG prototype, thus delaying the replacement of the oldfashioned MG TD, which was also in the BMC family. When it went on sale in 1953, the beautiful AustinHealey 100 cost less than 3,000 in the United States and would top 100mph. Those first cars, designated BN1, used the 90 bhp Austin engine, a threespeed transmission with overdrive and were happily received in the United States, which took most of the 10,688 cars produced. The beautiful BN1 AustinHealey 100 on offer was built in March 1955 and was delivered through Dove Limited, Croydon London with a heater and wire wheels. The chain of ownership can be traced back to Mr Van Santen who owned the car in Middlesex from 1961 to 1970. The car changes hands twice in two years before a December 1973 Motorsport Magazine highlights the car for sale. Detailed letters dating January 1974 show correspondence between the new owner and the Healey owners Club. Correspondence in the cars file confirms it underwent a detailed restoration at this time. The car changed hands again in 1979 to 1989, where it was the property of Mr McIntyre A Director of the Royal Automobile Club and formed part of the well regarded Sorn Castle Collection. In 1989 the car was sold to Mr Summers who owned the car until 1991. Denis Welch carried out an engine overhaul at this time. The car moves to Cumbria in 1992 where it remained the property of a Mr Coulthard until changing hands to the present keeper in 2000.In 2005 the car underwent its second restoration by Colin Groom of Newton Abbot, Devon. Details are in the file. Between 2002 and 2009 30,000 was spent on a variety of works, both mechanical and to the body. With over 5,000 spent with Molesey Coach trimmers retrimming the vehicle to a very high standard indeed. With its M specification upgrades, and larger radiator this car has been caressed by its fastidious owner to insure it has become an excellent example mechanically performing as well in London traffic as it does on a country lane this well sorted example, with a large history file would be perfect for continental tours and events.View 1955 Austin Healey 100 M specification on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1955austinhealey100mspecification2 for further details.
These were cars that an upper middleclass owner could drive to work and rally or race on the weekends. But they weren't cheap. Next came the NashHealey sports car. But de...morespite modestly pricedrunning gear from the American independent manufacturer, the chassis, suspension and coachwork still resulted in a car that cost more than 4,000.Healey was well aware that he needed a car that could be built in larger numbers and sold at a lower price in the rapidly emerging sports car market in the new world. 2001 FERRARI 360 SPIDER F1

Lot # 35A (Sale Order: 39 of 55)

RIGHT HAND DRIVE EXAMPLE, LESS THAN 20,000 MILES FROM NEW Ferrari’s most successful model since the 308, the F355 was always going to be a tough act to follow. Its successor needed to be ground breaking and revolutionary; two words which, without doubt the 360 lived up to. Starting with a clean sheet of paper in designing the 360 Modena, the new car attracted superlatives that put even its illustrious predecessor in the shade. Just about the only item carried over from the F355 was its glorious V8 engine, enlarged from 3.5 to 3.6 litres for the 360, producing 400bhp. In every other respect the 360 was entirely new, the most striking break with Ferrari tradition being the body’s frontal treatment; gone was the omnipresent oval grille, replaced by two separate intakes set low into the front wings. A larger car than the F355, the 360 owed its radical new shape to the quest for increased downforce, generating four times as much as its predecessor yet achieving the impressively low Cd of 0.33. There was further innovation beneath the skin: a lighter, stiffer aluminium spaceframe/monocoque replacing the old tubular steel arrangement, resulting in a dry weight around 220lbs less than that of the F355. The 360’s on-the-road dynamics constituted a significant advance, its best time around Ferrari’s Fiorano test track being some three seconds faster than the F355’s. This stunning example in Rosso Corsa with sumptuous Nero leather interior, has covered less than 20,000 miles from new, having originally been supplied on 26th September 2001 by Lancaster Colchester. Optional extras fitted include Modular split rim wheels with red brake callipers, wing shields, front Challenge style grilles, rear Challenge grid and Challenge rear grille. For the past eight years it has been fastidiously maintained by Italian sports car specialists, Grimaldi Engineering Ltd of Halstead. The vendor advises us that the car has also benefited from a major service by them earlier this year which included replacement of the cambelts, plugs, etc. This exceptional Ferrari is accompanied by its wallet and book pack with stamped service history, invoices for servicing work with Grimaldi, assorted old MOT certificates as well as a current one and a V5C registration document.

Jaguar XK140

Lot # 36 (Sale Order: 40 of 55)

When the XK140 was announced in 1954 it was essentially a Mk II version. It retained the excellent dynamics of the XK120 and its superb level of appointment and attention to detail. Engine power increased to 190bhp as well as an increase to 210Bhp for the MC specification models. Stiffer torsion bars, improved lights, cooling, brakes and steering were just a few of the other upgrades to the XK range. The main improvement, however, was moving the engine and scuttle three inches forward which gave better handling and improved cockpit space without compromising the car's stunning lines. The entire range abounded with clever details such that the XK series is one of the few which truly merit the term ˜great'. Of the three variants the factory offered, the drophead coupé was the least common and just 2,789 were made. With its permanently attached hood the frame is a minor masterpiece and windup windows, it is an ideal compromise between the more sparsely equipped roadster and the fixedhead coupé.All three models were outstanding, however, and only the most expensive exotica could match them either under real driving conditions or for kerbside presence. Taking into account reliability, refinement and sheer pleasure of driving, the XK140 was one of the outstanding cars of its day and it remains one of the greatest classic cars. This Special Equipment XK140, fitted with its original and desirable CType cylinder head is presented in the beautiful combination of carmen red over black leather interiorDelivered new to Hoffman, New York this wonderful XK140 MC spent most of its life in the dry states of America. Toleman TG185

Lot # 37 (Sale Order: 41 of 55)

In the 1970s, businessmen and motorsport fan Ted Toleman began his involvement in various car racing formula in the UK. Toleman's entry to Formula One was announced in November 1980 and the Toleman teams' debut was in the 1981 San Marino Grand Prix. Over the next two years, their original Rory Byrnedesigned TG181 car was extensively developed as it had proved overweight and underpowered, however, in 1983 the new car T183B showed improved form. The budget increased as Toleman's current sponsor “ Italian white goods manufacturer Candy “ was joined by Iveco brand Magirus and BP. Noted driver, Derek Warwick achieved Toleman's first points finish in the Dutch GP and scored again in the remaining three Grands Prix. These results placed Toleman 9th in the constructors' championship standings. The driver lineup changed completely in 1984. Warwick's performances were rewarded with a Renault contract and his place was taken by Grand Prix debutant and future threetime World Champion Ayrton Senna. Senna quickly made an impression on Formula One in his TG184 car and achieved Toleman's greatest result. In a rainsoaked Monaco GP, he finished in a close 2nd place behind Alain Prost. The torrential conditions forced the clerk of the course Jacky Ickx to stop the race after 31 of the scheduled 78 laps. It was a controversial decision that stirred up a conspiracy theory and resulted in much debate about whether Senna would have won. In May 1985, Toleman acquired major sponsorship from the United Colours Of Benetton clothing company. During the 198586 offseason, the knitwear firm purchased the team and it was renamed Benetton Formula prior to the 1986 season. Offered for sale is a œUnited Colours of Benetton liveried Toleman TG185 Chassis No.5. Driven by Teo Fabi in the 1985 European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch, the car has been kept with it's ˜straight off the track' bodywork, untouched since Fabi stepped out in 1985. Underneath the unrestored paintwork, is the powerful Hart 415 T four cylinder turbo charged engine, which in period produced 740bhp in qualifying spec running boost at 2.5 bar.The Toleman TG185 famously acheived the small Toleman teams only pole position at the Nurburgring, driven by Teo Fabi. Fabi drove chassis 05 at the European GP at Brands Hatch, UK in October 1985.This car has been mechanically restored to the highest standard with no expense sparred on any aspect of it. The engine has been built up from a new block and head by the highly experienced F1 turbo specialists Geoff Page Racing. The bodywork is the only thing that hasn't been restored, so leaving the car looking as it was at the end of the 1985 season. The engine is running on a modern ECU and runs on 102 octane fuel which means this is a very simple F1 car to run privately. The car was recently run at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the expert hands of FOS regular Lorina McLaughlin with great success and is therefore eligible for future Goodwood events. This is one of the last cars produced by Ted Tolemans famous team in full running order and comes with a new external starter and preheaters and is ready to go straight to the track.View 1985 Toleman TG185 on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1985tolemantg185 for further details.

*Regretfully Withdrawn* Ferrari 330 GTC

Lot # 38 (Sale Order: 42 of 55)

˜At the top “ at the absolute top “ in the automotive enthusiasts' hierarchy of the cars of the world, there is only one. Ferrari. Is there really any question' Thirtyplus years after Car Driver magazine voiced that rhetorical enquiry the answer, of course, remains the same. And the car that prompted that eulogy “ The Ferrari 330GTC.Intended to fill a gap in Ferrari's lineup between the fourseat 330GT 22 and the racerontheroad 275GTB, the two seat 330GTC debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1966 and was essentially a closed version of the 275GTS. Pininfarina's understated coachwork combined elements of the latter at the rear with touches of the 500 Superfast at the front. Few would disagree with Car Driver's opinion that the result was most agreeable. ˜The GTC is a tasteful blend of the meanandlow look of Ferrari competition GT cars, with the elegance of superluxury street Ferraris of the past. Detail work, finish, panel fit, every aspect is superlative.'Beneath the 330GTC's bonnet resided the 4litre, 300bhp version of Ferrari's familiar, twocam, 60degree V12, as used in the 330GT 22. The short 94.5 wheelbase chassis followed Ferrari's established practice of tying together sturdy oval section main tubes in a steel spaceframe, while the suspension was independent all round by wishbones and coil springs.First introduced on a roadgoing Ferrari the 275GTB in 1964, the rear suspension incorporated the fivespeed gearbox in a transaxle, an arrangement that created a betterbalanced car and one that gave its driver, œthe wonderful sense of know ing just exactly what's going on between one's posterior and the pavé.Much development work had concentrated on the reduction of noise levels in the cabin, which was luxuriously equipped in the best Gran Turismo manner leather seats, electric windows and heated rear screen were standard radio, air conditioning and Borrani wire wheels the options. With a top speed in excess of 150mph, excellent ride comfort and sure footed handling, Ferrari could justifiably claim the 330GTC to be the finest of highspeed conveyances for two people and their luggage. This beautiful 330 GTC Berlinetta was delivered new to Verona, Italy in May 1968, finished in Grigio Argento Silver with a Pella Nera black leather interior. The car was later exported to the United States and into the custodianship of Richard Belveal of Scottsdale, Arizona a wellknown enthusiast in classic car circles in his region. The current family have owned the 330GTC since 2004, having purchased the car from specialist Heritage Classics of West Hollywood, and arranged for repatriation into Europe and to its current home in the UK. In their ownership, and in addition to servicing work, the car has benefitted from an interior trim in Nero leather, refinishing of the interior wood trim, a rebuild of the Borrani wheels, the carburettors rebuilt, the fitting of a replacement stainless exhaust system, and also attention to the brakes. To improve the engine running electronic ignition has been fitted, and the distributors adjusted. Bills are on file for c. 20,000 to support the works completed. All relevant numbers on the car chassis, body, engine and numero interno have been checked and verified to match.Supplied with a current UK MoT certificate, UK V5 document, FIVA card and file of invoices, this is a stunning example of one of Ferrari's very best efforts.View 1968 Ferrari 330 GTC on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1968ferrari330gtc6 for further details.

Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Litre

Lot # 39 (Sale Order: 43 of 55)

Jaguar would make a habit of shocking the automotive world. Sometimes the impact of its cars reached beyond the showrooms and exposition halls to rock popular culture, yet not even Jaguar's founder, Sir William Lyons, could have predicted the impact of the Jaguar EType. When introduced at the 1961 Geneva Salon, the new Jaguar stirred passions with its extremely sleek and timeless design backed by staggering performance. Constructed using methods derived from the DType sports racing car, the EType was a technical marvel. The light and rigid monocoque chassis used the engine itself as a structural part of the car, with the long and sleek bonnet hinged at the front. The headlights were beautifully recessed in the fenders, and covered with contoured Perspex for a freeflowing design and improved aerodynamics. The car featured 4wheel independent suspension, disc brakes all around and a 4speed manual transmission. The proven XK power plant was carried over from the XK150, and made sure the lithe Jaguar would exceed the 150mph mark.Often called the most beautiful production car of all time, the EType remains an automotive icon of design, engineering and speed. With spare parts readily available, a number of marque clubs to join and many driving and concours events to attend, the EType is an excellent, widely admired collector car.Presented in Carman Red with a black leather interior this lovely example was originally offered by H.W Motors of Surrey in February of 1964. The current vendor acquired the vehicle from a private collection some seven years ago, since then the car has been treated to light recommissioning and maintenance work and has been used on many trips throughout the UK. In good running condition the car is supplied with a UK V5C registration document and Mot until August 2018.View 1964 Jaguar Series 1 3.8 Litre on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1964jaguarseries138litre for further details.

Daimler Dart SP250

Lot # 40 (Sale Order: 44 of 55)

An unusual departure for a firm more noted for its stately limousines, the SP250 sports car was Daimler's final fling before its acquisition by Jaguar. Aimed at the North American market and launched in 1959, the SP250 employed a separate laddertype chassis on which sat controversially styled fibreglass coachwork manufactured by Daimler themselves. Fourwheel disc brakes were an unusual feature at the time but unquestionably the car's biggest virtue was its magnificent 2.5litre V8 engine. An outstandingly flexible unit, the smaller of Daimler's two Edward Turner designed V8s produced 140bhp, an output good enough to propel the SP250 to a top speed of 125mph. In keeping with the demands of its intended market, automatic transmission was available as an option. The model survived Jaguar's 1960 takeover, benefiting from its new owner's attention that resulted in the muchimproved ˜B' version. Introduced in April 1961, the SP250 ˜B' boasted a stiffer chassis and thicker fibreglass coachwork. The SP250 listed here was first registered on 8th June 1960. Finished in signal red and supplied with contrasting blackred wet weather gear hard and soft tops. The interior is wonderfully original with a patina that is only apparent and available through 57 years of careful and meticulous ownership. The history and paperwork supplied with this car is exemplary and too large to list here in full. There are almost three decades worth of old MOT certificates with matching tax discs dating back to 1977. There are also folders of old invoices, photos, service packs, brochures and manuals as well as a current MOT and UK V5C registration. A truly wonderful example of this increasingly rare British sports car.View 1960 Daimler Dart SP250 on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1960daimlerdartsp250 for further details.
An unusual departure for a firm more noted for its stately limousines, the SP250 sports car was Daimler's final fling before its acquisition by Jaguar. Aimed at the North...more American market and launched in 1959, the SP250 employed a separate laddertype chassis on which sat controversially styled fibreglass coachwork manufactured by Daimler themselves. Fourwheel disc brakes were an unusual feature at the time but unquestionably the car's biggest virtue was its magnificent 2.5litre V8 engine. 1931 Bentley 8-Litre Tourer

Lot # 40A (Sale Order: 45 of 55)

Only 100 examples of the 8-Litre model had been produced before bankruptcy overtook the original Bentley company, but had they been in a stronger financial position it mi...moreght well have been a different story. The chassis price of the 8-Litre Bentley at £1,850 was in direct competition with the Rolls-Royce Phantom II, allied with better performance, and the contemporary motoring press was lavish with its praise for the 8-Litre model. The latter had debuted at the 1930 London Motor Show and was the largest-engined car made in the UK at that time and arguably the fastest. Bentley’s advertising claimed ‘100mph without noise’ and tests bore out that claim, the 8-Litre being fully capable of the ‘ton’ even when burdened with weighty formal coachwork. As W O Bentley himself said: ‘I have wanted to produce a dead silent 100mph car, and now I think we have done it.’ This magnificent 8-Litre was first delivered new in Singapore to Mr. Eu Tong Sen in May 1931. Eu Tong Sen built his fortune by acquiring from the British monopolies for tax or revenue farming in several areas such as opium, alcohol, spirits, gambling and pawn broking, later acquiring land for mining tin. The 8-Litre was ordered with Thrupp and Maberly coachwork, and shipped directly to Singapore. Tong Sen used it to visit horse races with his girlfriends, which became such a habit that the Bentley became known as the Harem Saloon. During the Second World War the Bentley was stored away in one of Tong Sen’s mines, later being repatriated into the UK in the late 1940s. The new owner, Mr. Peter Quinn, gave the car its first UK registration number NLH 43 which the car retains today. He removed the original body but kept the original bonnet and scuttle from the car. The car was subsequently bought by a Mr. John Cobbing in 2002 who undertook the rebuild and restoration and re-bodied the 8-Litre as the stylish tourer you see presented today. The chassis was restored with new bushes and pins, and re-piped with its original one shot lubrication system, re-wired and restored to original specification. The engine was rebuilt with new valves and guides, a new water pump, new front and rear water plates, new oil drain tubes and new bottom three throw drive gear. The original crank however was deemed to be in fantastic condition and so was retained, with the main bearings being reground to approx. 0.012? under size. Then new bronzes were made and the metal was re-whited. A decision was taken to use new connecting rods and put them on modern shells, giving the car the best of both worlds. The crankcase and sump was machined for modern oil seals, replacing the leaky acme threads. To improve running the carburettors were stripped and rebuilt with new jets, needles, and cork washers. The autovac unit was stripped and restored with new valves and seals, and the magneto rebuilt by renowned expert Tony Stairs. Lastly a new coil was fitted, alongside an overhauled distributor with new points and condenser. Breathing was improved with a new 3” exhaust system as per the original design (the silencer was designed to be straight through with a centre baffle). To aid cooling the radiator was fully restored with a new core, and re-chromed on the shell. Modern Kenlowe fans were fitted to help with cooling, although the car still retains its original fan assembly. The gearbox was stripped; all the gears were found to be in excellent condition and as such it was rebuilt with new bearings, and mated to a new clutch lining and discs. The rear axle was stripped and fitted with a new crown wheel and pinion (the car now boasts a 3.21 : 1 ratio). New half shafts were fitted, new wheel bearings, the front axle was also stripped and fitted with new king pins and bushes. The steering column was found to be excellent, but nonetheless was dismantled and rebuilt with all new bearings. The brake servo was dismantled and found to require a new leather seal and brass fingered disc underneath. All components were cleaned and the servo full overhauled. Lastly the two original wheels were restored with new outer rims and spokes, then 4 new wheels were commissioned and built up to order. All of this hard work and investment produces a long-legged tourer which can also handle country lanes without the need for an overdrive gearbox. As such the 8-Litre has engaged in a number of trips down to Le Mans, behaving impeccably at all times. All in all a very well sorted example of a sporting yet comfortable and very stylish tourer of the highest order.

*Regretfully Withdrawn* Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM

Lot # 41 (Sale Order: 46 of 55)

œThere are AMG Benzes, really quite special AMG Benzes, and pretty damn amazing, spectacular and rare AMG Benzes. And the last of these is what you are looking at here. Richard Bremner, Autocar Magazine, 2005.The DTM was a special edition coupé built for the road out of the bones of the full racingspec 209 CLK DTM that raced in the ultracompetitive German DTM racing series. Originally priced at the equivalent of around 161,000 when launched, it sold out as soon buyers could scrabble to their local Mercedes dealer to place an order, and is now one of the most collectible Mercedes models available today. The 582 bhp 5.4 litre supercharged V8 engine was limited to a top speed of 300 kmh. That's right, limited to 300kmh. Front and rear track were widened by 74 and 110mm respectively and special tyres, produced specifically for the car, allowed 1.35g of lateral acceleration. 0100 kmh came in an amazing 3.8 secs. Very high profile customers only were ˜ invited' to become owners, which included F1 drivers of the day such as Mika Hakkinen and Jenson Button.Modelled on the racing version used by DTM hero and AMG racer Bernd Schneider, the CLK DTM also featured many bodywork modifications derived from racing, such as the deeper front apron, larger intake ducts, flared wheel arches and a bootmounted rear wing. Many of these body panels were built from carbon fibre, along with interior panels too.One of only 40 were ever destined to the UK, and this very low mileage example surely must rank as one of the best. Our CLK DTM has covered only 7,400 miles in the hands of two private owners, and is supplied with a fully documented Mercedes Service History record.Supplied with the perfect number plate DT55 AMG, and with a new UK MoT certificate, this is by far one of the most exclusive and sought after limitededition MercedesBenz models of recent years, and one we feel has an excellent future in the classic car market.View 2005 Mercedes CLK DTM on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars2005mercedesclkdtm for further details.

Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe

Lot # 42 (Sale Order: 47 of 55)

œFor 1955, Jaguar present a range of models incorporating not only added refinements, but mechanical advances directly derived from their many outstanding successes in international competitive events. All the wealth of experience gained on the racetracks of the world and in recordbreaking speed and endurance tests is built into every Jaguar to provide for discriminating motorists the highest degree of efficient performance allied to comfort and safety “ Jaguar Cars Ltd.Launched in 1954, the Jaguar XK140 was broadly similar to, though more refined than, its sensational XK120 predecessor, major engineering changes being confined to the repositioning of the engine 3 further forward and the adoption of rackandpinion steering as used on the racing CType. The suspension and brakes remained much as before, though with stiffer torsion bars at the front and telescopic shock absorbers replacing the previous lever type at the rear. Like its forbear, the XK140 was built in three model types roadster, coupé and drophead coupé, the latter two offering usefully increased cabin space and occasional rear seats. Outwardly the newcomer was distinguishable by its revised radiator grille, rear lights incorporating flashing indicators, and larger bumpers “ the latter adopted to withstand the cut and thrust of urban parking. The power unit remained Jaguar's welltried, 3.4litre, twincam six, which now produced 190bhp in standard trim thanks to higherlift camshafts and revised porting. To ensure reliability, steel bearing caps replaced the previous castiron type. A closeratio gearbox enabled better use to be made of the increased performance while Laycockde Normanville overdrive became an option for the first time. Special Equipment SE XK140's came with wire wheels and Lucas fog lamps, and could be ordered with an engine developing 210bhp courtesy of the ˜C'type cylinder head. XK140 performance was well up to the standards set by its exemplary predecessor, contemporary magazine road tests regularly recording top speed figures in excess of 120mph. Tested by Road Track magazine, a USAspecification XK140 MC as the ˜C'type headequipped SE version was known here recorded a 060mph time of 8.4 seconds on the way to a top speed of 121.1mph. This charming original right hand drive XK140 Fixed Head Coupe was delivered new through Henlys London on the 17th August 1955 to a Mr Stuart Cole. Presented in cream, most recently the car has resided in a significant European collection, returning to the UK for the sale. It is today presented in good general condition. The XK140 would be eligible as an interesting entry for any number of vintage rallies or shows. One of the most beautiful and charismatic sports cars of its era, this XK140 will undoubtedly turn heads at any automotive gathering.View 1955 Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1955jaguarxk140fixedheadcoupe2 for further details.

Ferrari 512BBi

Lot # 43 (Sale Order: 48 of 55)

Having reasserted itself at the top of the supercar hierarchy with the first ˜Boxer' “ the 365GTB4 BB “ Ferrari went one better with its successor, the 512BB. For the new Boxer, Ferrari abandoned its longstanding practice of denoting a model by the capacity of an individual cylinder and adopted the Dinotype nomenclature where ˜512' indicates 5 litres12 cylinders. Displacement was increased by enlarging both bore and stroke, while in addition the compression ratio was raised and drysump lubrication adopted. The result of all these changes was a useful increase in torque which, coupled with revised gear ratios, made the 512 more tractable.Changes to Pininfarina's inspired coachwork were, not surprisingly, few. The running gear likewise came in for only minor revision while the already excellent allround ventilated disc brakes remained unchanged. Inside, the 512 remained virtually the same as before but for the welcome adoption of multiway adjustable seats in place of the fixed originals. Road Track magazine had achieved a speed of 175mph 280kmh in the preceding 365GT4 BB, and although lack of road space prevented the discovery of their test 512's capability, Ferrari's claimed maximum of 188mph 302kmh was felt entirely realistic. In 1981 the model was updated with Bosch fuel injection, becoming the 512BBi. Once again, maximum power remained unchanged but there was more available at lower revs and torque increased still further. Possessing an engine directly related to Ferrari's contemporary Formula 1 unit, as well as being both lighter and faster than the legendary Daytona, the 512BBi was one of the most capable and exciting supercars of its era and is still capable of providing all the thrills that an enthusiastic ownerdriver could wish for. This lefthand drive example is one of only 1,007 512BBi models produced by Ferrari. Finished in Rosso Corsa red with dark blue interior trim and showing very little wear, the car is displayed in lovely condition all round.Showing a total of 56,000 kilometres on the odometer the car was previously sold by Charles Pozzi automobiles of France in 1983 the car has seen just three owners from new and has been serviced less than 2,000 kilometres ago. Included in the sale are bills of service and maintenance work as well as a Ferrari booklet with important documents included. With the value of V12 Ferraris from the 1960's and 1970's having increased dramatically, users and investors alike have recognised the potential of the Berlinetta Boxer series, and particularly that of the more practical fuelinjected models such as this one.View 1983 Ferrari 512BBi on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1983ferrari512bbi for further details.

Aston Martin Virage

Lot # 44 (Sale Order: 49 of 55)

Introduced at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1988, the Virage was joined by the highperformance Vantage in 1993, and the name of the standard car was changed to V8 Coupe in 1996.This V8powered car was intended as the company's top model, with the 6cylinder 1994 DB7 positioned below it. Although the DB7 was switched to a V12 engine and claimed a performance advantage, this V8 model remained the exclusive, expensive, and handbuilt flagship of the Aston Martin range. By the end of the 2000 model year, 1,050 of all Virage related models had been produced.œThis Virage is the last vehicle of a series of nine V8 cars that were commissioned by an enthusiast in 1987 to celebrate 21 years of the Marek V8 cars, which came of age in 1990. They are all finished in the rich Hunter Green with Tan upholstery, burr walnut wood trim and dark green carpeting. All had registration numbers that were consecutive in the same Surrey C.C series. All except the Lagonda have manual gearboxes. In 1995 they passed into the caring hands of another enthusiast who built them a special garage with climate control. This owner, not having the time to exercise them all as he would wish, decided, with some reluctance, to sell them. Sadly, the collection was not sold as one, but broken up. “ Aston Martin Owners Club Register 2005.Having covered less than 14,000 miles from new, this early manual example of the Virage presents extremely well. The car received a full service, new clutch, release bearing and slave cylinder in February 2016 at Aston Martin Hagley and comes with a current MOT and UK V5C. A wonderfully original Virage with incredibly low mileage and fantastic provenance a unique opportunity for the serious collector.View 1990 Aston Martin Virage on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1990astonmartinvirage for further details.

Porsche 912 Targa

Lot # 45 (Sale Order: 50 of 55)

912 Soft Window Targa production commenced in 1967 and were initially equipped with transparent plastic rear windows openable with a zipper. Later designated ˜Version I' by the factory, these ˜softwindow' Targas are now extremely rare, with about 200 currently listed in the 912 Registry. In September 1968, Christophorus magazine noted that with the softwindow œThe safety hoop is permanent but you can achieve four variations around it, depending on whether roof and rear window are used or removed. Take off the Targa top fitting unfolded in the trunk for a mega sunroof originally called the œTarga Voyage. Unzip the plastic rear window and you have a cabriolet with rollbar originally called the œTarga Spyder. You might leave the roof on and the back window down on blistering hot days, cold winter days, or even in a light rain. Button it up for complete enclosure in any weather. This rare Soft Window Targa SWT has in recent years benefitted from a comprehensive restoration. Treated as a ˜labour of love', works began with disassembling the car, removing the engine, transmission and fuel tank. The car also received a complete windowout quality bare metal respray to original Irish Green colour. An engine leak down and compression test was done with great results, so a full tune up service, adjustment of the valves, and detailing the engine and transmission was completed. New clutch and shift bushings fitted with the CVs joints all rebuilt. The interior is excellent and all original, even the carpets are amazing. All the rubber seals, even the Targa top seals were replaced and the soft window assembly was rebuilt. All the chrome, decos, bumper guards, lights and side markers are original.Finished in Irish Green with black leather interior, what we have here is a very nice and containing its original interior, largely unmolested example of the rare 912 soft window Targa.
