DESCRIPTION: Three panel hinged continental painted Victorian room screen. Depicts canal scene complete with gondolas and village on either side. Rivets frame borders on either side. Arched tops.
MEASUREMENTS: Each panel 17-5/8" x 67-5/8" high. Opens to 52-7/8" x 67-5/8" high.
CONDITION: Toning and darkening to paint throughout. Craquelure throughout. Slight flaking and losses to paint near bottom, does not detract. Material loss at rear.

DESCRIPTION: A small American Empire (circa 1840) mahogany veneered sideboard. The form consisting of two drawers over two additional drawers and two single door cupboards. The case resting upon simple carved feet in front and two straight legs on the back, as is typical of this period. The face of the chest having two free-carved spiral turned columns with antheminon capitals. The drawers with what appears to be original Sandwich glass hardware. PROVENANCE: By descent to the consignor from the family of Robert Fleming (1801-1874), Pennsylvania Senator in 1836 and 1839.
MEASUREMENTS: 51"' x 20-1/4" x 43-1/4" high.

DESCRIPTION: Ebonized mixed woods server, circa 1950. The case with a single cabinet door on the left and six drawers stacked on the right. The original hardware being a simple Moderne rolled brass. Made and so ink-stamped by "Drexel" and with a brass retail tag noting that it has been sold by Goldsmiths in Harrisburg. The latter was the finest furniture store in Harrisburg during the mid-20th century.

Harold Sack Reproduction Hepplewhite Sideboard

DESCRIPTION: Mahogany and mixed woods reproduction Hepplewhite sideboard with the label of "H. Sacks & Sons." The form consisting of finely inlaid (bell flowers and stringing) legs rising to join the case with doors, drawers and bottle drawers on the facade. Fine reproduction brasses. The firm of Harold Sack & Sons was established by the great antiques dealer Israel Sack to produce reproductions of fine period antiques. The pieces were bench-made by the Sack firm and include fine brasses made for each piece. These rarely appear on the market as they were expensive when new. PROVENANCE: By descent to the consignor from the family of Robert Fleming (1801-1874), Pennsylvania Senator in 1836 and 1839.

DESCRIPTION: Early 20th century secretary or cabinet that combines elements from both the Aesthetic movement of the 1870s and 1880s as well as the Art Nouveau. The natural motifs such as the peacock and other carving is typical of both of these movements. The form consisting of an arch top with drawers inside resting on a fall front desk/writing board and then upon turned legs. The interior painted red while the exterior with polychrome highlights.
