1999 Maserati Quattroporte V8 Evoluzione

Lot # 402 (Sale Order: 26 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 3.2L 1999 Maserati Quattroporte V8 Evoluzione automatic. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 87/135. One of only 340 made...336bhp, twin-turbo 3.2-Litre V8, and an automatic gearbox. The fourth generation Quattroporte Evoluzione was available from March 1998 and was the first Maserati built under Ferrari's more efficient regime. This luxurious left-hand drive, Maserati Quattroporte V8 Evoluzione, is relatively unusual in the UK and not to be confused with other models, particularly the pre-'98 Quattroporte which was a much inferior car. This particular car has recently been imported from Japan with all taxes paid and is reading 72,539 kms (45,000 miles). Presented in White (Bianco Birdcage) with a delightful interior featuring Tan Leather, Coffee Suede, and Mustard carpets, this car is presented to Auction with an MOT valid until August 2017 and will be UK registered before the sale.  At 'no reserve', this could be a very sensible way into Maserati motoring.     Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 3/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

2003 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

Lot # 403 (Sale Order: 27 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2.0L 2003 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI manual. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores 83/135. A great usable example...There have been seven noted versions of the WRX dating back from Subaru's original World Rally Cross staging vehicles. Subaru adopted the name "WRX" to stand for "World Rally eXperimental" (in some places WRX stands for "World Rally Cross") as all WRX versions (1992 to present) feature rally inspired technology, including all wheel drive, stiffened suspensions and turbocharged four cylinder engines. Presented to auction with an MOT until 5th January 2017 this a great example of the breed. This car has had one lady owner from new and has been maintained regardless of cost and comes with a very comprehensive history file to back up the mileage .   Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 3/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 5/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1997 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL

Lot # 404 (Sale Order: 28 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2.8L 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL280 automatic that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 109/135. Finished in deep Azurite Blue metallic with a matching top and a black leather interior that belies its mileage of 89,000, this 280SL feels hewn from solid. Mercedes-Benz SLs from the 1950s and 60s have continued to rise in value over recent years, putting them well out of  reach of many car enthusiasts, whereas the R129 SL series still represents great value for money.  Beautifully built, P208 BPG is filled with conveniences like a power-operated roof, pop-up roll-over bar and dual-range four-speed automatic gearboxes. Recently serviced, this lovely Mercedes is set to go. 1979 Ford Capri 2.0 Ghia

Lot # 405 (Sale Order: 29 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2.0L 1979 Ford Capri manual that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 93/135. Family owned from new, just 26,000 miles and good history... This super Ford Capri has been enjoyed by the same family from new as the current owner's grandfather purchased this car brand new in 1979. With just two registered keepers in the Log Book, this Diamond White, 1979 Ford Capri 2.0 Ghia has travelled a mere 26,000 miles and has been owned by our vendor since 2001. Presented to Auction with an MOT certificate valid until June 2017 (no advisories), the car retains its original service book, with one stamp, manuals and a copy of the original 1979 logbook, together with a number of older MOTs and service invoices during its current ownership. We understand that the car was not driven for short periods of time, but has been used, albeit sparingly, for most years including this year. We understand that it has been garaged since new and is described as being in largely original condition having never been restored. What little surface rust has come through has been regularly addressed and the underside of the car is described as being very clean for its year.  With the search for good Capris gaining momentum, this lovely, low mileage 2.0 Ghia is not to be missed.   Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 4/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 4/5, Vehicle history: 3/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1972 Alfa Romeo GT Junior

Lot # 406 (Sale Order: 30 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 1.75L 1972 Alfa Romeo GT Junior 1750 manual that has been with the current owner for the last 2 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 56/135. A grown up Junior...Lovely 1972, GT Junior that would make an ideal project!  This charming little Alfa Romeo has recently been imported from the dry climate of South Africa. Supplied with a UK NOVA number and South African registration documents, the car is offered without reserve and is being sold strictly as seen. The owner hopes to get the larger 1750cc engine running prior to the sale. The bodywork is presented in good condition and the shut lines look nice and original. There is some minor bodywork damage to the front of the car, carried out in transit, but it looks to be largely rust-free and an ideal candidate for a high-quality re-paint. The interior will require some minor fettling but the engine bay presents well. A unique opportunity to restore your very own Alfa Romeo.    Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 2/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 2/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 2/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1995 Volkswagen Corrado 2.9 VR6 Storm Limited Edition

Lot # 407 (Sale Order: 31 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2.9L 1995 Volkswagen Corrado 2.9 VR6 Storm manual that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores 94/135. The same ownership from new and just 62,400 miles... Much coveted because of its good looks and great handling, Auto Express magazine hailed the Corrado as "one of VW's best-ever drivers' cars" at launch. The VR6 model was listed as one of the "25 Cars You Must Drive Before You Die" by the British magazine, Car and 'By far the most desirable version of the Corrado' by Auto Express. Classic Car Auctions are delighted to present this 1995 Volkswagen Corrado 2.9 VR6  'Storm' Limited Edition. A UK-only limited production model, the Corrado Storm differed from the standard car by having some discreet 'Storm' badging, a colour-coded front grille, an additional Storm badge on the gear gaiter surround, 15 inch BBS 'Solitude' alloy wheels, and some previously optional items, such as the leather heated front seats, fitted as standard. Only 500 were produced: 250 in Mystic Blue and 250 in Classic Green with a Cream leather interior as we have here.   The current owner has driven the car from new, it was first registered to his business and then he transferred ownership to himself some 18 years ago after selling the business, so although the records display two registered keepers, this car is effectively a one owner vehicle. It was issued with an MOT with no advisories in May and it was also serviced at this time with the details in the file along with the rest of the comprehensive service history. These cars are just too good to miss. Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 4/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 4/5, Vehicle history: 4/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1955 Ford Hot Rod

Lot # 410 (Sale Order: 34 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 5.0L 1955 Ford Hot Rod automatic. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 79/135. Not for introverts... This is a totally road legal 'Hot Rod' with fifties Ford underpinnings, fitted with a five-litre V8 engine and a four-speed automatic transmission. It is constructed from, what we believe, is a '23 T-Bucket kit from Speedway Motors of Lincoln, Nebraska. It's described as being in good condition throughout and much work has been done to keep it in good running order. One of the advantages of a car like this is that it's possible to closely inspect the chassis and running gear and this vehicle appears to be soundly engineered with lots of attention to detail. Light weight, lots of power, an open top and the chest-rattling thump of a big V8. A perfect recipe for fun. Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 3/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 2/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1986 Jaguar XJ6

Lot # 413 (Sale Order: 37 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 3.4L 1986 Jaguar XJ6 automatic that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores 88/135. A dapper, mid-eighties, executive saloon.....Finished in sparkling Old English White with a complementing Red leather interior this low mileage example looks terrific. Other than being fitted with a set of the desirable, XJS style, 'Kent' alloys the car is as it left the factory back in 1986. It has clearly been well maintained throughout its life and is supplied with a very good history file dating way back to the early days. The interior is well preserved showing very little in terms of wear, but with a lovely patina. A low mileage XJ6 in this condition, and with this provenance, rarely comes to market and if you have always wanted one, this could be a great opportunity. A great example in a traditional colour...This is an absolutely 'classic' MkII with a 3.8 engine, manual 'overdrive' gearbox, wire wheels, and Coombs rear arches, Even better, it's finished in British Racing Green with a matching green leather interior. 1978 Datsun 260Z

Lot # 415 (Sale Order: 39 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2.565ccL 1978 Datsun 260Z manual. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 60/135. UK specified, right-hand drive and just 8,285 miles...First registered on the 10th March 1978 and has only had two owners having been purchased from the original owner by our vendor in 1994. At the time of purchase, our vendor had spent a long time trying to source the best 260Z possible and ended up selecting this car because of its very low mileage and long term ownership. After purchasing the car it was used sparingly for just one year before a change in circumstances meant that it was put into storage in 1995 showing just 8,284 miles on the clock from new. It would remain there for a further 21 years, untouched, until revealed in May of this year. When the car was pulled out of storage it underwent a thorough inspection by specialist Richard Thorne Classic Cars. The engine was turned by hand and then connected to a small auxiliary fuel tank to bypass the fuel tank/lines and briefly started and run with no obvious issues. In order for a new owner to fully run the car, the condition of the inside of the tank and fuel lines would need to be inspected and old fuel drained. It would also need a full mechanical service including thoroughly going through the braking system.  Finished in a striking shade of Copper Bronze Metallic, the bodywork is generally in very good condition with small, localised bubbles of rust here and there and some surface rust on the chrome work. There are some minor paint blisters in various places, mainly on the roof. Inside the car is in very good condition showing no obvious signs of excessive use.  Offered with a history file containing past MOTs, original handbook, service book detailing two services, original tool roll, jack and wheel chock and an older letter from the Datsun 'Z' Car Register confirming its mileage. Presented as it was the day it left storage, this car is possibly an unrepeatable opportunity to own what could be one of the lowest mileage €˜Z€™ cars in existence. Ready for recommissioning or preserving, this rare car would be a very rewarding and straightforward project. Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 1/5, Transmission: 1/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 1/5, Vehicle history: 3/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Lot # 416 (Sale Order: 40 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2.8L 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 manual that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 80/135. 'Belfast Silver Bullet' ...    The DeLorean DMC-12 was a ground-breaking, innovative sports car manufactured by John DeLorean's 'DeLorean Motor Company' for the American market from 1981-83. The car was the work of Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design and featured gull-wing doors and an unusual, Lotus-engineered, fibreglass chassis and underbody structure, along with a brushed stainless steel body.  This 1981 example has just 4,388 miles indicated which we are unable to warrant, however, when our vendor bought the car, he carried out a detailed inspection and was satisfied that this was a genuine low mileage, manual gearbox, DMC. Prior to our sale, this car has benefitted from a programme of light recommissioning. These cars continue to gain momentum in the collector's car market on both sides of the Atlantic. Offered to auction with a fresh MOT, and NOVA documentation, this is an exceptional DeLorean and not to be missed. Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 3/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 2/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1994 BMW E36 M3 3.0

Lot # 417 (Sale Order: 41 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 3.0L 1994 BMW E36 M3 3.0 manual that has been with the current owner for the last 2 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores 92/135. In 1992 BMW introduced this new M3 at the Paris Motor Show based on the E36 platform. The second incarnation of the M3 was a different animal to the 1980's E30 original, with a straight-six in place of the fizzy four, modern styling and a more refined demeanour. At this time, the Motorsport Division's new take on the iconic M3 was to utilise the standard M50TU engine (used in other E36s and earlier E34s). However, there were numerous upgrades over the standard M50 including individual throttle plates for each cylinder, continuously variable €˜Vanos' valve timing, lightweight pistons, graphite-coated connecting rods, larger inlet valves and re-designed equal length exhaust manifolds. The resultant 24-valve, S50B30 engine had a capacity of 2990cc and produced 282bhp, an output approaching 100bhp/litre, pretty impressive. The torque curve is not dissimilar to Ayers Rock, in that it is high and flat - and the dual mass flywheel contributes to the engine's ability to rev to nearly 7,300rpm. In 1996, the M3 was developed further with an increase in capacity to 3,152cc becoming known as the (M3) Evolution. The BMW E36 M3 is remembered for its road holding and all round ability and was awarded "Best-Handling Car" by Car and Driver magazine in 1997. The car presented here is a 1994 E36 M3 in the distinctive BMW colour of Avus Blue. This right-hand drive, UK car is in great original condition, having covered just 76,000 miles with just two former keepers. The car drives and feels just as you'd expect from such a well-preserved example. The driver-focused interior displays minimal wear, with even the wear-prone sports seats in great condition. Trying to find an earlier E36 M3 in this sort of condition is getting much harder. The inherent build-quality from this era is high, with a real feeling of being built-for-purpose and BMW had a hard act to follow after the E30 M3, so invested heavily in the development and execution of these early M3 E36 cars. This car comes with its BMW book-pack, a full set of keys, and the main dealer service records are consistent with the mileage. It has been hiding in a private BMW collection for 2 years, explaining the low mileage, and was recently subjected to a full recommissioning, with fresh brake pads and an MoT until August 2017. With prices having risen significantly for well-preserved and original E30 M3s, this is an ideal opportunity now to acquire its younger sibling before they do the same. This car is the right example to buy and keep. Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 4/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 4/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1965 Ford Mustang

Lot # 418 (Sale Order: 42 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 3.3L 1965 Ford Mustang automatic that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 102/135. A well presented '65 Prancing Pony... This cracking left-hand drive, 1965 straight-six, automatic Mustang is presented in "Happy Days" Red with a White Vinyl roof complimented by a lovely interior in the same colours. The car has just been imported from the dry state of Arizona and appears to have had ongoing restoration keeping it looking sharp and fresh. The vendor informs us that "not a spot of rust" can be found and that the few tiny cracks on the paintwork could be removed with a "deep polish" and "could easily be brought to almost perfect condition". From the photographs, the interior looks "fantastic" and has obviously been brought up to condition over the years. The car is said to drive well with "no leaks or strange noises", the engine bay has recently been detailed and a new carburettor, alternator, and battery fitted. With quite a lot of history from previous owners, this could be a superb entry level car into the growing American classic car fraternity. This car comes complete with an MOT to September 2017. Exterior: 4/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 4/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 4/5, Electrics: 4/5, Vehicle history: 4/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

Carefully crafted recreation of an early Mini Cooper...This homage to the iconic cars of the mid-sixties was built during 2014/15 from a standard shell stripped, sandblasted and strengthened with new panels where needed, before being professionally painted in the traditional Cooper colours of Tartan Red with a Black roof. The car was then methodically reassembled using high-quality stainless steel bolts, clips and brackets.Mechanically the build consisted of a modified 1275 engine with a Cooper 'S' head and other performance parts. Braking was taken care of using Cooper 'S' discs and all the suspension was poly bushed. The car is fitted with adjustable "GAZ" shocks and the fuel supplied through a new electric pump and fuel lines. To complete the sixties Cooper image, the red and black cabin sports some new bucket seats with three-point harnesses and a 'Momo' wheel.   This super Cooper evocation appears to have covered just over 1,200 miles since its build and has a current MOT.  Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 3/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 2/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1978 Porsche 911 3.0 SC

Lot # 421 (Sale Order: 45 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 2993L 1978 Porsche 911 3.0 SC manual that has been with the current owner for the last 2 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 82/135. A great example of the iconic 911...In 1978, Porsche introduced their latest development of the 911, christened the '911 SC', with the SC standing for Super Carrera, Powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a five-speed, 915 transmission, power output initially was 180bhp, later 188bhp and then, in 1981, it was increased to a heady 204bhp. 1979 was the year that Porsche had envisioned that their new 928 would replace the 911 (we are still waiting for that to happen), however, 911 sales remained so strong that Porsche revised its strategy and decided to inject new life into their core model. This early SC was manufactured in 1978 and is finished in Red with a black leather interior, piped in red and its history file shows that the car had spent a number of years in Ireland, with Irish Vehicle Test Certificates dating from 1993. Historical photos and invoices show the car had a wings-off respray in the late 1990s, and a letter from the Porsche Club GB around that time states the car was in "Very good condition throughout. Recent wings-off respray.". Sundry other receipts and invoices show work carried out in England by Red Triangle of Kenilworth in July 2014. Further receipts from noted Porsche specialists Autofarm are on file, with a recent invoice from Jaz Specialists in Porsche of North London in August 2015 to the tune of £1,947.20, and the vendor informs us the car was serviced at this time. Purchased by our Porsche enthusiast vendor on the 14th April 2014 to "tick the red 911 box" the car has been well maintained by him. Presented to auction with an MoT until 1st February 2017 and showing 81,127 miles, this lovely Porsche makes an ideal entry level example for those also wishing to tick "the red 911" box.   Exterior: 3/5, Interior: 3/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 3/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1972 Karmann Ghia ""Top Hat"" Coupé

Lot # 423 (Sale Order: 47 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 1.6L 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé manual that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with an extensive history file, this lot's condition scores an impressive 107/135. Launched in 1956, the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Coupé (Type 14) was VW's attempt to raise its image at a time when the western world was emerging from a period of bleak post-war austerity into an era dominated by American show-biz glamour. Using the frumpy, utilitarian Beetle as their starting point, VW's executives contracted German coach builder Karmann to turn their ugly duckling into a swan. In an inspired move, Karmann turned to Italian styling house Ghia to inject some Latin brio into the project and an instant classic was born. Basically a Beetle in a Hollywood party frock, the Karmann Ghia became a runaway success, and its cool California styling made it a best-seller right up until 1974 when it was finally replaced by the Scirocco.  This delightful example is an original, UK supplied car and has only just been subject to a very extensive restoration (see the website). It's been superbly repainted in its original Light Ivory with a Black Top which is a very rare factory finish and was known as a €œTop Hat€. It has an extensive history file with every MOT, invoices, and the original service book stamped to 82K. It's a manual, right-hand drive car with a fresh MOT and would reward a close inspection.  NB. The accompanying photographs were taken prior to the restoration. Exterior: 5/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 5/5, Transmission: 4/5, Running gear: 4/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 4/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.

1966 AMC Marlin

Lot # 426 (Sale Order: 50 of 184)

Offered for sale is a 4.7L 1966 AMC Marlin automatic that has been with the current owner for over 10 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 86/135. A rare sixties American muscle car....When did you last see one of these? With all references to its Rambler roots removed, the 1966 first generation Marlin became known as an 'AMC' to distance it from its humble beginnings. The distinctive, fastback, pillarless coupé's looks were well received and the car sold well, particularly the 287. This two-tone AMC Marlin '287' has been with its current owner ,who is a die hard American fan, for the last 33 years and has patently been molly coddled during this time. The only major work done to the car during his ownership is a full refit of the interior with new seat coverings making it really sharp, and overall the car presents extremely well and belies its 52 years. If you like sixties' Americana and fancy something a bit different, then this well-preserved Marlin could be the answer. Exterior: 4/5, Interior: 4/5, Engine: 3/5, Transmission: 3/5, Running gear: 3/5, Electrics: 3/5, Vehicle history: 3/5 For a full condition report, view this car on www.classiccarauctions.co.uk/.
