Plymouth returned to civilian production in 1946 with the P-Series full size sedan that was offered in two distinct trim levels: De Luxe and the top-of-the-line Special De Luxe. In 1949, Plymouth introduced art deco inspired styling touches to match the sumptuous interior appointments that had been present from the start. The inline 6-cylinder engine produced 97 hp, which was one of the most advanced units of the day, featuring cast aluminium pistons and a 7:1 compression ratio. With chair height seats and a wood finished metal dash, the cabin both comfortable and attractive. These popular models have exceptional aftermarket support and are one of the best ways to enjoy early postwar motoring.
The Motorcar Offered A highly original example that has received a repaint in the original black livery, this attractive coupe presents in very good condition. With very solid metal, this is a genuine two-owner vehicle that has been carefully maintained and preserved. With a recent engine tune-up, it runs and drives as it should and should prove a sound investment as concours examples have reached the $40,000 mark at recent auctions.
Estimate: $15,000-18,000
