Lot # 2161a (Sale Order: 216 of 535)

Lot includes 4 items from the banquet held on June 16th, 1927 by the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce at the Hotel Waldorf-Astoria honoring Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh. ...moreLindbergh had made the New York to Paris flight in 33.5 hours becoming the first pilot to do so. He returned back to the United States by ship aboard the USS Memphis (ordered to do so by President Coolidge) arriving in Washington on June 11th and back in New York on June 13th where he received a ticker tape parade. On June 16th he was awarded the cash prize of $25,000 (approx $460,000 today) and was honored at the banquet from which these items came. Included are the banquet menu and program in VG condition measuring 9.5" wide X 12.25" tall, the 16 page seating list in VG condition with one vertical fold measuring 6" wide X 9" tall, a red, white, & blue piece of crepe paper measuring 6" X 5" bearing the printed tag "A La Lindbergh", and a boxed bronze medallion or paperweight made by the Robbins Co. of Attleboro Mass. depicting Lindbergh's plane in flight with a commemorative inscription on the reverse. The medal measures 3.5" wide X 2.5"tall. It includes a small red, white, and blue ribbon used to tie the box. The embossed image of the medal appears on the cover of the banquet menu. (The making of the medal itself is incredible as Lindbergh had completed the flight only 26 days prior to the banquet.)

Lot # 2166 (Sale Order: 222 of 535)

**No Shipping - Pick Up or Third Party Transport Only** WWII British RAF Avro Anson 1 Bomber Propeller This twin blade propeller is for the famous British Avro Anson twin...more engine airplane - for the Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah aero-engine. These wooden propellers for the RAF were made in Canada and this one has a reprinted aircraft company decal for S & S Aircraft company of Winnipeg.
