Engraved Beretta S687 EELL Diamond Pigeon Shotgun Two Barrel Set

Factory Bottega C. Giovanelli Signed and Game Scene Engraved Beretta Model S687 EELL Diamond Pigeon Over/Under Shotgun Two Barrel Set with Case

Built with a single nickel bead sight on the matted vent rib which is marked with a gold "1" at the base, light scroll engraving around the upper chamber, interchangeable chokes (modified/improved cylinder installed), and 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a coin finished sideplated action which displays floral scroll engraving surrounding a trio of pheasants on the left and a pair of snipes on the right. The engraving is singed on the triggerplate "Bottega C. Giovanelli". The gun features a single gold trigger and a tang mounted automatic safety/selector. The gun is mounted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved coin fittings and a gold "1" on the release as well as a round knob pistol grip stock with blank gold inscription oval and a leather wrapped recoil pad. Included is a second matching 28 inch 28 gauge barrel set with gold "2"s in the place of the "1"s, interchangeable chokes (modified/improved cylinder installed), and 2 3/4 inch chambers. Also included is a factory takedown case that houses the set and four extra chokes (improved modified and full (28 ga.) and cylinder and full (20 ga.). Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proofed at 15.9mm (.626 inches) and measured .628 inches; minimum wall thickness .042/.042 inches; 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 2 oz.

Excellent, retaining 98% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and slight speckling on the upper tang. The wood is very good with numerous small scratches, some wear to the recoil pad, and overall sharp checkering. The extra barrel set is excellent. Mechanically excellent.

Blued Excelsior steel barrels with 3 inch chambers with ejectors, 2007 dated proofs, and choke tube system (modified/full currently installed). Blued action with floral scroll engraved at the front on either side with "BERETTA" at the top and a game scene of two mallards on the left and two quail on the right with the birds inlaid in gold. The underside of the action displays floral scroll with "687 SILVER/PIGEON IV" on a scroll above a gold inlaid Beretta Trident logo. Fitted with a gold washed trigger and selective tang mounted safety. Mounted with a nicely figured checkered walnut forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with blank silver initial escutcheon and Beretta recoil pad. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at the comb; 2 5/16 inch drop at the heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 7 oz.

Russel J. Smith Engraved/Inlaid S&W Model 53 Revolver with Case

Magnificent Patriotic Themed Russel J. Smith Signed Factory Master Engraved and Gold and Silver Inlaid Smith & Wesson Model 53 Double Action Revolver with Case and Extra Cylinder

Russel J. Smith made a name for himself as the master engraver for Smith & Wesson which lead him to engrave revolvers for a multitude of famous persons. Rock Island Auction had the great pleasure of selling the revolver inlaid and engraved for the King of Rock and Roll himself, Elvis Presley, in our August of 2023 auction for $199,750. This revolver, much like that made for Elvis, features a patriotic theme for the American Bicentennial and includes several motifs used on Elvis's iconic Model 53. Russel J. Smith truly turned this magnificent steel canvas into a work of firearms art. The barrel features a gold inlaid front sight, gold inlaid geometric designs at the muzzle surrounded by light foliate engraving, a duo of silver stars flanking the barrel markings on both sides which are inside of gold inlaid oval border all of which is surrounded by floral scroll with a geometric design under the ejector rod. The frame displays a matching engraving motif with silver inlaid star at the upper front of the frame inside a "V" shape with horizontal line engraving. The lower portion above the trigger guard has a gold inlaid wire outline while the trigger guard has interlaced line engraving surrounded by light geometric engraving. Lady Liberty is gold inlaid on her pedestal at Liberty Island on the left side of the frame below the cylinder release, and the side plate has a pair of sailing ships with the hulls in gold and sails in silver with "OP SAIL '76" inlaid in gold next to it. At the top of the back strap is a gold inlaid square border with "76" in stylized numbers. The cylinder displays a spray of floral scroll between the cylinder flutes with a gold inlaid wavy line behind the cylinder flutes and a band at the rear. This masterpiece is signed "by R. J. SMITH" on the underside of the ejector shroud. This revolver commemorates the closing of the bicentennial. Includes a hardwood case with red velvet interior and a matching engraved extra .22 Magnum cylinder. Also included are *prints of the engraving patterns for the Elvis Model 53 and this Model 53 with notes stating that motifs (the inlaid stars and dates on the barrel) were borrowed from this revolver to be used on Elvis's iconic Model 53. As the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. approaches, this bicentennial themed S&W would make for a fitting addition to any Americana collection. This revolver is consecutively numbered to the following lot, another magnificent piece of Russel J. Smith's magnificent firearms art!

Magnificent Patriotic Themed Russel J. Smith Signed Factory Master Engraved Smith & Wesson Model 53 Double Action Revolver with Case and Extra Cylinder

Russel J. Smith made a name for himself as the master engraver for Smith & Wesson which lead him to engrave revolvers for a multitude of famous persons. Smith truly turned this magnificent steel canvas into a work of firearms art. The engraving for this revolver consists mostly of magnificently executed deep floral scroll engraving. Both sides of the barrel near the muzzle display a motif of an eagle clutching a ribbon reading "1776" and "1976" on the left and right respectively. Between the cylinder flutes, a star is engraved among the floral scroll. The sideplate engraving depicts a trio of Revolutionary War musicians (two drummers and one flautist) with a banner to the right of the scene reading "1776*1976". Above the rear grip serrations is the Liberty Bell on a punchdot background. The work is signed "BY R. J. SMITH" under the right panel. Includes a hardwood case with red velvet interior and a matching engraved extra .22 Magnum cylinder. Also included is prints of the engraving patterns for the Elvis Model 53 with notes stating that several motifs (the Liberty Bell at the top of the back strap) were used on Elvis's iconic Model 53 after S&W asked the original owner of this revolver. This revolver commemorates the opening of the bicentennial. As the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. approaches, this centennial themed S&W would make for a fitting addition to any Americana collection. This revolver is consecutively numbered to the previous lot, another magnificent piece of Russel J. Smith's magnificent firearms art!

Manufactured in 1958-1959. Fitted with red blade front sight and adjustable rear sights, and standard markings. Import marked on the yoke above the serial number. The sideplate is marked with the Persona Non Grata Club logo with gold inlaid narwhal over ""Cam" Sweeney/Persona Grata" and "PNG 4" on the side of the frame. Includes a hardwood presentation case with a plaque on the lid reading "WALTER C. SWEENEY/MAJOR GENERAL USAF/"PERSONA NON GRATA"/C. R. HELLSTROM". The Persona Non Grata Club was a group of three civilians and two military members who were involved in an attempt at the creation of the Nordic Free Trade Zone. The American and European delegates did not get along, leading to the Americans referring to themselves as "persona non grata". Before their departure Major General Walter C. Sweeney (the recipient of this revolver) was gifted a narwhal tusk, and thus the animal became the group's mascot. Each member of the group was given a Pre-Model 29 and Model 53 Smith & Wesson Revolver with the same special inscription as this revolver, but with the recipient's name. The Model 53 from this set is available in the following lot.

The sideplate is marked with the Persona Non Grata Club logo with gold inlaid narwhal over ""Cam" Sweeney/Persona Grata" and "PNG 4" on the side of the frame. Includes a hardwood presentation case with a plaque on the lid reading "WALTER C. SWEENEY/MAJOR GENERAL USAF/"PERSONA NON GRATA"/C. R. HELLSTROM" containing six cartridge adapters and an extra cylinder numbered to the gun. The Persona Non Grata Club was a group of three civilians and two military members who were involved in an attempt at the creation of the Nordic Free Trade Zone. The American and European delegates did not get along, leading to the Americans referring to themselves as "persona non grata". Before their departure Major General Walter C. Sweeney (the recipient of this revolver) was gifted a narwhal tusk, and thus the animal became the group's mascot. Smith & Wesson Non-Registered .357 Magnum Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

The Non-Registered .357 revolvers are much more rare than their Registered Magnum model counterparts with only about 1,400 manufactured compared to about 5,400 Registered Magnums. The included factory letter states the revolver was shipped on July 15, 1940 and delivered to Union Hardware & Metal Co., Los Angeles, California, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel and blue finish. The revolver features a King red post reflector front sight, white outlined square notch rear sight, and matching serial numbers on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, and ejector shroud. One of the last .357 Magnums manufactured prior to World War II.

Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue finish with a series of handling marks on the left side of the barrel towards the muzzle and a light cylinder drag line. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with a few handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Smith & Wesson .357 Registered Magnum Double Action Revolver with Registration Certificate, Box and Factory Letter

This particular Registered Magnum (reg. no. 4358) is one of 1,518 manufactured with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was shipped on January 12, 1939 and delivered to The Krause Hardware Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, Call gold bead front sight, square notch rear sight, blue finish, and checkered walnut Magna grips. The included original registration certificate confirms the configuration as listed in the factory letter and indicates the revolver was registered by D.W. Cox of Dayton, Ohio. The rare original certificate shipping tube is also included and is addressed to D.W. Cox of Dayton. Other included documents: the purchase order on a Kruse Hardware Company form, the S&W order form, and S&W invoice. Matching serial numbers appear on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, and ejector shroud. Comes with a correct S&W model box numbered to a different gun, three bore brushes, and S&W caution leaflet.

Very fine, retaining 90% plus original blue finish with a few patches of pitting, high edge wear and a light cylinder drag line. 98% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are very good with a chip and a repair near the bottom on the right panel, minor handling marks, and some wear to the top of the checkering. The box is fine. Mechanically excellent.

This particular Registered Magnum with reg. no. 1063 is one of 1,518 manufactured with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. The revolver has a pinned blade front sight, an adjustable square notch rear sight, and S&W medallion checkered Magna grips with right panel numbered to a different gun (61825). Matching serial numbers appear on the butt, cylinder, and ejector shroud.

Rare Smith & Wesson K-32 Masterpiece (Pre-Model 16) Double Action Revolver with Gold Box and Factory Letter

This is one of only 3,630 K-32 Masterpiece (Model 16) revolvers S&W manufactured over a 26 year period starting in 1947. It is the rarest of the standard K-Masterpiece series. The accompanying factory letter states this 4-screw K-32 was shipped on August 12, 1958 and delivered to W.H. Kiefaber, Inc. of Dayton, Ohio, with a 6 inch barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut grips (currently fitted with checkered Magna grips with right panel numbered to a different gun). Comes with an unnumbered correct S&W model gold box.

Excellent, retaining 97% original blue finish with some muzzle wear, a cylinder drag line and some scattered handling marks. 98% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with overall crisp checkering. Box is fine. Mechanically excellent.

Extremely Rare and Documented Smith & Wesson K-32 Masterpiece (Pre-Model 16) Double Action Revolver with Special Order 4 Inch Barrel and Factory Letter

This S&W K-32 Masterpiece (pre-Model 16) revolver has a special order 4 inch barrel and is built on the 5-screw frame. The standard barrel length for this model was 6 inches. This is one of only 3,630 K-32 Masterpiece (Model 16) revolvers S&W manufactured over a 26 year period starting in 1947. It is the rarest of the standard K-Masterpiece series. The accompanying factory letter (two page letter with first page absent) states the revolver was shipped on March 4, 1949 and delivered to B.W. Folsom, Warren, Ohio, with a special order 4 inch barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut grips (currently wearing a set of Magna grips numbered to another gun). This shipment was for 10 units ordered with a 4 inch barrel and S&W charged an additional $6.00 for each of the 4 inch barrels. The included S&W invoice confirms the 4 inch barrel and lists the serial numbers for all 10 guns in the March 4, 1949 shipment. These 10 guns were the first 4 inch K-32s ever manufactured and other than two others produced in 1951, the only 4 inch barrels built on the 5-screw frame. Matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, and barrel.

Very fine, retaining 90% original blue finish with thinning to brown and extensive pitting mostly on the cylinder. 95% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The left panel as a small chip long the front edge of the left panel, otherwise the grips are fine with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Spectacular Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model Transitional Double Action Revolver with Scarce 6 1/2 Barrel, Box and Factory Letter

Also known as the 1926 Model .44 Military, the .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model (Postwar-Transitional) revolver was manufactured from 1946 to 1949 with nearly 1,500 units reported to have been produced. This high conditioned example has the very scarce 6 1/2 inch barrel (standard barrel length was 4 or 5 inches), standard S&W factory markings, Magna grips and blade and frame groove sights. The matching serial number is found on the butt, ejector shroud, rear cylinder face and right grip panel. The assembly number "3800" is stamped on the yoke and crane. The original factory box is numbered to the gun. The serial number is correctly found on the bottom of the box. The serial number is also hand marked on the end label. The accompanying factory letter states the revolver was shipped on July 18, 1946 and delivered to Warshal's Sporting Goods Co. of Seattle, Washington, with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and checkered walnut square butt grips.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains over 99% original blue finish with a very faint cylinder drag line. 99% plus original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are near new with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with a tear on a long side of the lid. This revolver would be virtually impossible to improve upon, and with the original box and very scarce barrel length, will make for a great addition to any post-war Smith & Wesson collection.

This particular Registered Magnum (reg. no. 4797), is one of only 735 Registered Magnums manufactured with an 8 3/4 inch barrel. The revolver has a Call bead front sight, an adjustable square notch rear sight, and S&W medallion checkered Magna grips. Matching serial numbers appear on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, and ejector shroud.

These revolvers are even more scarce than their Registered Magnum model counterparts with only about 1,400 manufactured compared about 5,400 Registered Magnums. Production of Registered Magnums was stopped because it was deemed to costly to manufacture the revolvers, which at the time sold for $60. This example was manufactured in 1940 and fitted with serrated round blade front sight and adjustable rear sights. Matching serial numbers are on the barrel, cylinder, and butt with the right grip numbered to another revolver.

C.M. King Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector Double Action Revolver

Built on a S&W Hand ejector frame, this revolver utilizes a C.M. King 12 inch barrel. The barrel is chambered in .32 caliber, is marked "C.M. KING" on top, and is fitted with a pinned blade front sight. The frame retains the original sighting groove and has been fitted with a fixed "U" notch rear sight. The matching numbered cylinder has been sleeved. The right grip panel is also numbered to the gun.

Very fine as period upgraded to current configuration by C.M. King. The C.M. King barrel retains 80% blue finish with smooth brown patina on the balance. The frame and cylinder retain 85% factory blue finish with some thinning to brown on the grip straps and high edge wear. The rear of the cylinder is gray. The hammer and trigger retain 80% original case colors. The grips are fine with a chip near the bottom (right panel), scattered handling marks, and softened checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Rare Pre-World War II Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model Target "Wolf & Klar" Double Action Revolver

Also known as the Model 1926 Hand Ejector Pre-War, the .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model "Wolf & Klar" double action revolver was manufactured from 1926 to 1941. This model was usually available on special order only, not cataloged until 1940 and had a shrouded extractor barrel as requested by the Fort Worth, Texas dealer Wolf & Klar. Offered here is a rare target version with a 6 1/2 inch barrel. It has been estimated that fewer than 100 were manufactured. This example was manufactured in 1937. It is fitted with a Marble beaded blade front and adjustable "U" notch rear sight. Matching serial numbers are marked on the barrel, cylinder, and butt.
