Three Czech PG-7 Sub-Caliber Training Devices with Case

Lot # 3464 (Sale Order: 465 of 749)

Three Czech PG-7 Sub-Caliber Training Devices for the RPG-7 Anti-Tank Weapon, with Case -A) PG-7 Training Device

Three Czech PG-7 Sub-Caliber Training Devices for the RPG-7 Anti-Tank Weapon, with Case -A) PG-7 Training Device
Developed as a training device to familiarize soldiers with the RPG-7 shoulder-fired anti-tank weapon, the PG-7 sub-caliber training device is effectively a single shot bolt action barreled receiver installed in a housing shaped like a shaped-charge rocket. With these devices, a crew could practice all the steps for preparing the RPG-7 for action and firing for accuracy in a way massively cheaper and more forgiving of operator error than firing live rockets. Each device has a yellow painted "warhead" and black body with "GPC" import marks and "CZO-1968" date, and a screw-adjustable muzzle collar for fine tuning the device. A recessed trigger button and a spring loaded safety lever are installed on the underside of the receiver, and a white plastic guide block is installed on top to interface with a matching notch on the RPG-7 to ensure proper alignment of the trigger button with the firing pin of the launcher; the guide blocks on A and C have been trimmed down and function with the RPG-7D launcher in the previous lot, and the block on B has been untouched. All three come in a green hardwood transport case.

Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 97 Sniper Rifle with Scope

Lot # 3473 (Sale Order: 474 of 749)

World War II Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 97 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Scope and Case

Approximately 14,500 Type 97 sniper rifles were manufactured at the Nagoya Arsenal and 8,000 at Kokura Arsenal between 1938-1943. A scope-equipped variant of the Type 38 service rifle, the Type 97 was one of Imperial Japan's go-to sniper weapons for World War II, and gained great infamy during the "island hopping" campaign in the Pacific. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights. The receiver markings are properly offset to accommodate the scope base, with a crisp Imperial mum above Type 97 markings on top of the receiver ring. The bolt body, firing pin and safety knob are serial numbered "878" one number off the receiver number "1879", likely factory assembled this way. Matching "879" marked on the bottom of the bayonet lug of the front barrel band, and non-matching "473" marked inside the floorplate. The top of the scope tube is marked "2.5X10" above a circled logo and "99.No.3904/JES" and the scope base is numbered "5429" inside. Fitted with a correct mahogany stock. Includes a correct rubberized canvas scope case with leather fittings.

Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun

Fine, retains 70% plus original blue finish with smooth brown patina on the balance. The stock is also fine and shows numerous dings, scuffs and scratches appropriate for period field use. Mechanically excellent. Scope is very fine with 90% original black painted finish with some minor flaking, and crisp clear optics with a well defined reticle. Scope case is very fine.

Loewe Model 1893 Borchardt Pistol with Accessories

Lot # 3474 (Sale Order: 475 of 749)

Ludwig Loewe Model 1893 Borchardt Semi-Automatic Pistol with Three-Digit Serial Number, Shoulder Stock, and Accessories

Manufactured in the 1890s by the firm of Ludwig Loewe (later DWM), the Model 1893 was the work of Hugo Borchardt, formerly the Superintendent of Sharps Rifle Manufacturing Company, and was among the first viable semi-automatic pistol designs to hit the commercial market. The Borchardt Pistol was also an important forerunner to the work of Georg Luger, who would refine the core mechanical principles of the Borchardt to make his own eponymous and world famous handgun. Fixed blade and notch sights, with "WAFFENFABRIK/LOEWE/BERLIN." marked on top of the chamber, "SYSTEM BORCHARDT. PATENT." on the right of the frame, and the patent marking "D.R.P./No. 75837" on the front toggle link. A series of "(crown)/letter" (B, U, and G) proofs are present on the barrel, barrel extension and toggle assembly, with the "172,28" bore diameter on the left side of the barrel and matching external serial numbers. Niter blue and straw colored small parts, with smooth borders on the finely checkered hardwood grip panels with the matching serial number stamped on the insides and on the walnut base of the nickel finished magazine. Included with the lot is a matching numbered extra magazine, matching numbered board stock with "J.R. JONES" stamped on the side and an unmarked detachable cheek rest, pigskin holster, leather straps and an English-language manual.

Class: Antique

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, scattered spotting, patches of shallow oxidization concentrated on the sides of the barrel and left side of the frame, edge wear, and mild handling marks. The grips are good, with moderate wear, some dings and varnish loss. Mechanically fine.
