This auction includes several full estate collections. This is a "No-Reserve" Auction, everything sells to the highest bidder, regardless of price. The only way to bid is through ProxiBid, there is no live crowd and no left bids. Its low felt recoil and reliable repower delivers on target with every pull of the trigger. More than just a rifle, the Model 82 is an American icon. The M82A1 is known by the US military as the SASR?"Special Applications Scoped Rifle", and it was and still is used as an anti-materiel rifle and explosive ordnance disposal tool. U.S. troops have also given it the nickname "Light Fifty" due to its chambering of the .50 BMG 12.7?99mm NATO cartridge and its devastating power. The Barrett M82A1 rifle was used as a platform for the experimental OSW (Objective Sniper Weapon) prototype. This weapon was fitted with a shorter barrel, and fired 25mm high-explosive shells developed for the 25?59 mm OCSW (Objective Crew Served Weapon) automatic grenade launcher. The experimental OSW showed an increased effectiveness against various targets, but the recoil was beyond human limitations.
