Vintage U.S. military large frame double action service revolver chambered in .45 Colt, manufactured circa 1911. The model 1909 was an interim solution to the shortage of sidearms created by the trials for the 1911. All but 350 of the 19,503 contracted revolvers were sent to the Manila Ordnance Depot in the Philippine Islands. Features a high polish blued finish, 5 1/2" barrel, blade front sight, "u" notched rear sight, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, fluted swing out six-shot cylinder, non-shrouded ejector rod, lanyard loop on the butt, and two-piece smooth walnut grips. All observed serial numbers are matching with exception of the left grip panel which has another number written in pencil. Military marks: Barrel - "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "P" & "R.A.C." Frame - "R.A.C." & "F.B." Grip Panels - "R.A.C." and Cylinder - "R.A.C." Revolver retains approximately 50% of it's original blued finish showing holster wear, thinning, some scattered pin prick pitting and finish loss on the grip straps. Action is crisp with solid lock-up, the bore is bright with good rifling & some minor pitting near the muzzle, markings are clear and the wood grips are good+. Features a blued finish with straw colored small parts, 4" barrel, dovetailed inverted 'V' front sight with witness-marks, 'v' notched rear sight, smooth crescent trigger, knurled charging knobs on the rear toggle link, manual safety of the left side of the frame, knurled push button magazine release, 8 round magazine with wood base, steel frame with lanyard loop & stock lug, and two-piece finely checkered wood grips. All observed serial numbers are matching with the exception of the holdopen latch #73 and magazine #9591a. Pistol retains approximately 85% of it's original finish showing little remaining straw color, mild holster wear, and a small amount of light scattered surface rust/pin prick pitting. Revolver exhibits nearly all of it's original nickel plated finish showing scattered superficial scratched throughout with no observed losses. Almost certainly this rifle left the factory as a "Winder Musket" circa 1914-1923 and has since been altered to it's current configuration. Features a blued finish, unmarked 24" tapered barrel, globe front sight, removed rear sight, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, "s" shaped lever, drilled & tapped receiver for side mounted sight, coarse checkered walnut forend with and straight grip shoulder stock with metal carbine buttplate. Rifle exhibits a smooth dark grey patina on the barrel, has a bright blued finish on the receiver showing edge wear and the finger lever is predominately in the white.
