CONFEDERATE TENNESSEE-STYLE CAVALRY SABER &

Lot # 3001 (Sale Order: 1 of 461)

SCABBARD. 34” forged blade with crude square ricasso similar to several Tennessee and North Georgia makers but different, forging flaws are present. The large flat guar...mored very similar to Memphis Novelty Works sabers but unmarked. The brass mounted braised seam scabbard is also like products of Memphis Novelty works. Memphis Novelty Works is the only Confederate saber maker I am aware to use spring teeth in their brass throats. The scabbard fits well and appears original to use, the brass drag is restoration. (02-19334/JS). $2,000-2,500.
