Lambert Custom Vaquero Wade Tree Silver Saddle

Lot # 53 (Sale Order: 48 of 739)

This is an excellent, custom and handmade Lambert Leather Custom Saddle showing an American Indian Show Parade quality. The saddle was hand crafted after the works of Vaq...moreuero style saddlery, including a custom made set of Tapaderos. The saddle is completed by a custom design featuring tooled leather "miras" geometric decoration on the border and silver Vaquero style concho accents. The piece was handmade by George Lambert of Lambert Custom Leather of Hutchinson, Minnesota. The saddle was completely custom made and carries an estimated value of over $5,000. The saddle is signed “Lambert Leather” and was consigned by the collector/maker, George Lambert. The saddle shows a Wade Tree Vaquero style and is in like-new condition. The first report of a Wade Tree comes from acclaimed horseman Tom Dorrance, who, seeking improvement in the design and fit, brought an old saddle bought by Aaron Wade in the late 1800's to Walt Youngman, who had been the established head tree maker at Hamley's. Some slight adjustments were made to the original Deadwood saddle, which resulted in the 1940 Wade style tree (as you look at some of the old Spanish Vaquero saddles, you can see some of that influence in the design). The seat measures 15 1/2" with overall measurements of 20" x 26 1/2" x 45 1/2".
