Signed Navajo Turquoise & Sterling Cuffs & Pendant

Lot # 451 (Sale Order: 501 of 512)      

These are signed Navajo Native American Indian turquoise, and sterling silver cuffs and a pendant. The first cuff shows a rectangular cut chip of sleeping beauty turquoise, flanked on each side with a fluer-de-le motif, and additionally has symmetrical hash marks down the entirety of the band. This cuff is stamped with the rocking R hallmark of Relios Jewelry, owned by Carolyn Pollack. The second cuff shows a petit construction, with two skinny sterling silver bands joined at the ends, with a nugget of sleeping beauty turquoise set into the center, with a sterling leaf wrapping around the edge. This cuff is stamped "P - Sterling". The last piece - the sterling and lone mountain turquoise pendant is stamped "AB - Sterling", which attributes the piece to expert Navajo silversmith Alex Begay. The lot shows good condition overall, each piece boasts a warm silver patina. The largest cuff measures 2 1/2" wide, and 1 7/8" tall. The inside circumference of the bracelet equals approximately 6 1/2".

The cabachon measures 2.5" long by 1.25" wide and is on a 20" silver chain. The consignor has attributed the necklace to the Navajo Yazzie clan.

The somewhat diamond-shaped pendant features seven small turquoise stones symmetrically set. It is on a 19" silver chain. The second necklace features a stylized Native American head with feather headdress, two dangling feather earrings, and two small turquoise stones for eyes; it is stamped "sterling" on the back. The pendant is about 1.5" wide x 2" tall and is on a 16" silver chain. Both necklaces are in good condition and are unsigned.

It features three small turquoise and three small coral cabachons set asymmetrically in a 1.5" x 2.5" field of hammered silver, supported by double bands of silver. This lot includes an antique criss-crossed ski brooch pin, crafted in sterling silver, as well as two antique ski school pins. The pins advertise for "Gus Gnehm Ski School", and depict an alpine skier soaring through the air. The Ski brooch is marked on the back side with "Sterling", indicating its .925% silver purity. The lot is in fair condition, the clasps on the ski school pins have deteriorated. The sterling skis show a nice warm silver patina. The skis measure 2 5/8" long, and 3/8" wide.
