(M) TURNBULL TAR-15 SEMI AUTOMATIC CARBINE.

Introduced in 2015 and now discontinued, the TAR-15 combines the AR-15 platform with Turnbull's iconic and highly attractive finishes. This example was one of the first hundred produced with serial number "TAR1500074". The case hardened steel lower features Turnbull's encircled bull logo and manufacturer information on the left. The matching case hardened flat top upper features an integral optic rail, currently mounted with flip up iron sights. The M4 profile chrome lined 1-9 twist DPMS barrel is gray finished and fitted with a perforated flash hider. Carbine is stocked in figured walnut, including a 2-piece smooth hand guard, finger groove pistol grip, and buttstock with cheek piece and rubber butt pad. CONDITION: Excellent, with only a few mild handling marks. Fine mirror bright bore. A wonderful mixture of historical craftsmanship and modern performance. Rear sight is a single leaf style express sight, dovetailed into a sweated-on boss. Sling swivel on its own band sweated onto barrel ahead of forearm tip. Left side of barrel as serial number, caliber designation, and German nitro proofs for a gun proofed at Munich in 1991. Top of shank with a diamond of scrollwork. Large ring Mauser action with a French Grey type finish is engraved with scrollwork throughout, and fit with turn-off scope bases, currently mounted with a Swarovski Habicht 1.5-6x42 FFP scope with a German #4 reticle. Grooved receiver with Swarovski ZFM 6x42Z scope on quick detach mounts. Checkered black stock with detachable polymer magazine and leather sling. CONDITION: Very good overall. The vast majority of the factory finish is retained. An area of abrasion present near the center of the barrel. Stock shows moderate wear and handling marks throughout. Bore is mirror bright and displays crisp rifling throughout. Fine mechanics. Crystal clear optics. Coin finished scalloped boxlock action with light scroll and floral bouquets and reads "PROGRESS-CHAPUIS” and “S’ETIENNE- FRANCE” at bottom. Action built with double triggers, checkered and floral scroll engraved top lever, and checkered slide safe. Red dot for safe. Coin finished and floral scroll engraved trigger guard extends to a long bottom strap. Reddish brown walnut stock with checkered pistol hand grip. Pistol grip with coin finished steel grip cap with door. Stock is completed with check piece and thin brown leather covered pad. Long beavertail forend with steel Deeley styled latch release. Engine turned interior iron metal with serial number and “375HH”. Rifle lives in long Browning rifle case. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel black is very good to excellent and rifling is as well. Action, triggers and ejectors appear to function well. Stock and forend both very good with very light handling marks. Case is very good with light handling marks. Manufactured from 1896 into the 1930s. The blued No. 1 weight octagon to round barrel is marked with 2-line "J. STEVENS A. & T. CO." address, "'32.40" caliber designation, and, on the underside, the full serial number. Globe front sight and adjustable aperture short-range Vernier rear sight. Built on a case hardened Model 44 action with double set triggers and full loop lever. Action marked "49 0" on the front is very attractively etched with scrolls around central buck and goat motifs over a matted background. Checkered walnut Schnabel tipped forend inlaid with a US Army Corps of Engineers insignia and silver heart. Checkered pistol grip stock with cheekpiece and fancy Swiss butt plate. CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrel retains the vast majority of its factory blue, the forward portion starting to fade. Receiver case colors are strong with some mild loss. The lever has largely faded to patina. Stocks have only light handling marks. Bore is good with well-defined rifling. Fine mechanics, including set trigger. Fitted with globe front sight, Lawrence patent ladder rear, and short Vernier aperture tang sight. Standard case hardened Borchardt patent receiver marked on the left with patent and maker information. Checkered walnut forend with Schnabel tip. Checkered pistol grip walnut stock with correct checkered "SRC" monogrammed shotgun butt plate. CONDITION: Good. Barrel retains significant portions of fading original blue drifting to patina. Barrel retains approximately 90% factory blue with silvering along the high edges and other mild cleaned oxidation marks. Generous dark case colors present on the receiver with some areas starting to fade. Lever retains portions of case colors on the sides, the working surfaces largely faded to patina.
