Made early 1980s. Top of the barrel is marked with the New York City address. "The Colt Heritage Commemorative" is engraved in gold on the left side of the barrel assembly, while the right has gold etchings of Samuel Walker and Samuel Colt. Markings imitate a gun from company "C". Both sides of the grip are marked with U.S. style inspector marks. Matching serials throughout. Cylinder has its standard engraved scene. Original blued finish on the barrel, cylinder. Loading lever, frame and hammer are case colored. Brass grip straps. Walnut grip has a light oil finish. Includes original green velvet lined wood display case and the original serial matching book, "The Colt Heritage" by R.L. Wilson. Case includes 2 keys. CONDITION: Metal components retain 98% of its original finishes with little signs of used. Grips are excellent. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Unfired from the factory. Tight hammer and cylinder. Fine scroll engraving on the frame, barrel and cylinder. Gold etching on the barrel and cylinder as well. "T.P. Hunger" engraved on the back strap. Octagon barrel with blade front sight and v-notch. Mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut service grips with silver Colt medallions. CONDITION: Very good. Revolver retains bountiful amount of original finish showing a faint turn line, a few spots of light wear, and minor spots of cleaned oxidation. Officer's Model double action revolver chambered in .38 Special manufactured by Colt in 1930. The left side of the barrel is stamped "*OFFICERS MODEL 38*", with Colt's 2-line address across the top. Left side of frame bears the Rampant Colt logo and "VP" proof. Features include a blued finish, 2-piece custom period Colt silver medallion smooth ivory grips, 6" barrel, bead front sight, as well as an adjustable U-notch rear sight. Revolver is accompanied by a custom period wood display case, featuring a green velvet interior, 18-round ammunition block, screwdriver, oiler, as well as a cleaning rod mounted on the interior of the lid. Factory letter indicates under "Special Features:" that this revolver was furnished with a bead front sight and was shipped to Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis, MO on March 14th of 1931, in a shipment of two guns. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered spots of inactive oxidation and some very light high edge wear overall. Cylinder bears a light dragline and exhibits a few minor marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting sharp and well defined rifling throughout. Ivory grips show patina overall, with replaced sections at the bottom corner or each grip panel. Right grip exhibits a repaired crack, stemming from the top and terminating at the center. Casey's inspector marking. "C" replica Casey markings can be found on all major parts of the revolver in the correct places that would have been on Colt government single action revolvers in the latter half of the 19th century. CONDITION: Excellent with a vast majority of the factory bluing remaining with visible case hardening on frame and hammer. Grips are excellent with virtually all of their factory finish remaining. Outfitted with a set of custom 2-piece walnut target grips and mounted with a Leupold M8 2X scope on Buehler 1-piece base. CONDITION: Very good as modified. Nearly all of the reapplied finish is retained with some light wear at the muzzle, a turn line, and other minor marks. Grips have some light finish loss along high edges and a few handling marks.
