The sign has a slightly routed edge border with heavily soiled gold leaf. There are PRR Keystone logos on each end. Field paint is a heavily faded PRR red with significant paint loss and weathering. CONDITION: Sign is overall excellent showing outstanding color & gloss throughout with an outstanding condition graphic. Sign shows two minor areas of light chipping in the lower field and the remaining outer field is excellent. Sign shows all of its original grommets present with an excellent condition outer edge showing only one area of chipping. An excellent displaying example. Condition: (8.9+). Dimensions: 30" Diameter.

LOCOMOTIVE NOSE SHIELD.

A stainless steel three-piece nose shield from an early Missouri Pacific diesel locomotive. The components are formed to the curvature of a locomotive nose, likely an early EMD passenger unit. The center part is cut in an eagle silhouette shape and a reflective Missouri Pacific Buzzsaw logo is attached. There are lightly etched stripes emanating from the logo that go all the way around the sign and there is also a lightly etched border and foot detail of the eagle's foot. Unit has some railroad grime and dirt and a few nicks and scratches. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (7.0). The plate shows newer black field paint with yellow border and numerals. Back of plate has newer black paint and "201445" and "X10010" embossed. There are three stud mounting positions as expected, with evidence that the plate was torch-burned off of the smoke box door at the scrapping venue. Plate measures 10 - 1/4" from the top concave surface to the tip of the shield and 13 - 3/4" across the top edge of the shield. There are three mounting holes. This plate is believed to be a reproduction, as the numbers are not separately applied and are part of the casting. Field paint is old, worn gloss black with faded silver letters, numbers and border. An early sepia tone builder's photo of Nickel Plate No. 128, a 2-8-0 built by the Brooks Works in February 1902, construction 4114. The photo shows a clear image of an early transitional round builder's plate. The photo is nicely matted and has "American Locomotive Company Brooks Works Dunkirk New York, USA" printed at the bottom of the mat. The frame is an old oak unit. The frame looks to be original and the whole unit is dirty. The photo has a couple of minor scratches in it. Condition: (6.0). Dimensions: Frame: 34 - 3/4" x 24 - 1/2".
