As we approach the 150th anniversary of the Kentucky Derby, now is your chance to collect an unopened Jim Beam whiskey decanter commemorating the 100th running of the Ken...moretucky Derby in 1974 (the year Cannonade won). Two unglazed horseheads on the front of the decanter depict the first Derby winner Aristides, and the 100th winner, with a little sticker with Cannonade's name (presumably original to the bottle, applied post-race). The tax stamp and bottle seal are intact and the decanter comes with its original bag. While we can’t see how much bourbon is in the decanter, based on weight, we estimate the decanter to be 90% full. Decanter holds 4/5 quart of 100 month old 86 proof Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Named after Japan’s indigenous wood, Mizunara is a unique type of white oak. Mizu translates to water, while nara means oak. This luxurious wood grows in the northernmost island of Japan. The 15-year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, featuring an premium embossed label with a stamp border and details. Approximately 3,500 bottles were produced. The second expression is a very limited 18-year old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, featuring an embossed label with a gold-foiled stamp border and gold details. The 18-year-old expression was exclusive to the Kentucky market. King of Kentucky was established in 1881 as a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Brown-Forman acquired the brand in 1936 from Selected Kentucky Distillers and, by 1940, converted it to a blended whiskey until it was discontinued in 1968. In 2018, Brown-Forman revived the label paying homage to the brand’s past.
