Imperial German "1911" Dated DWM Model 1908 First Issue Unaltered Military Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol with XIII Army Corps Unit Marking and Holster

Manufactured on contract for the Imperial German military, this pre-World War I DWM Model 1908 Military Luger was manufactured without a stock lug or hold-open device, and managed to avoid being retrofit for the latter during its service life. Features fixed sights, with "1911" date marked chamber and "DWM" monogram on the front toggle link. Three "Crown/Gothic letter" military proofs are present on the right side of the barrel extension, with Imperial eagle firing proofs on the extension, barrel and breech block, and traditional "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" markings on the lower safety position and extractor. Matching visible serial numbers on the barrel and frame, with matching "58" partials on small components. The front strap is unit marked "A.M.XIII.6.11." for weapon number 11 of the 6th Field Artillery Munitions Column, XIII (Royal Wurttemberg) Army Corps. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips and a replacement nickel finished magazine with unmarked hardwood base. Includes a "F.BIERENDREIER/KEHL A/RH." manufacturer marked brown leather flap holster, with "UR14/1911" in stamp, "1911" stamp, and "SGT. BOYCE/D. Coy" written in the interior, along with a cleaning rod, takedown tool, and extra magazine with hardwood base numbered to another pistol. The upper lip of the holster is double stamped with the unit mark "R.R.13.33." for weapon number 33 of the 13th Reserve Infantry Regiment.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Very fine, retaining 85% plus blue and 60% straw colors with limited minor edge wear, minor handling marks, limited minor spotting, as well as smooth brown patina visible on the takedown lever, trigger, muzzle, and front sight base. The grips are also very fine with crisp checkering. The holster is fine with scattered light handling evidence and defined markings. Mechanically excellent.
