Antique Lefever Arms Company (Pre-Ithica) Sideplated Double Barrel 12 GA Shotgun in G-Grade

Lot # 146 (Sale Order: 153 of 258)

Please Note: We were Notified Today of a Civil Action that will prevent us from releasing this lot until it has been resolved. We will still sell it in this Auction to ...morethe highest Bidder without Reserve, but “Subject to Confirmation” and will not take payment or release the item until the issue is resolved. This will not in any way affect the sales price, and the dispute is not in relation to a reserve or minimum bid. We apologize for any inconvenience, but this is out of our control, and the Attorneys are working diligently to expedite this process as quickly as possible. This is an Antique Lefever Arms Company (Pre-Ithica) Sideplated Double Barrel 12 GA Shotgun in G-Grade. This gun is marked serial #G 40244 under forearm and 40244 on the trigger guard and barrel. This gun is in very good antique condition. The barrels are very clean inside, with the right barrel showing a minor dimple. We would recommend that this should be looked at by a gunsmith to determine if this will be an issue or needs repair before shooting the gun. The barrels measure approximately 27.75” and overall length of rifle is approximately 44.5”. There is average patina and wood scuffing due to use and age. This gun and other high quality guns in this Auction are from a private collection and should be inspected in person to ultimately determine and confirm condition, value, type, grade, measurements, touch marks, and variations. We are not Experts on some of these rarer guns, so we have given possible models that they may be, but we have gotten multiple emails of different opinions on other possibilities as well, so please only use our opinions as a guide, and do your own research to determine what model you believe each gun is. Even the Gun Guide recommends that a gun expert validate some of these guns because of the slight variations that so dramatically change the values. ALL GUNS PURCHASED ONLINE ARE WIRE TRANSFER ONLY ~ NO CREDIT CARDS!!!! There is too much credit card fraud right now, and our consignor wants to make sure we have verification of who actually purchases the guns, and be certain it is not a stolen card NO EXCEPTIONS! For the Antique Guns that Predate 1898: The law states that the specific gun must be made prior to 1898. This is NOT the Patent Date, but the date of manufacture, based upon the serial number. If we cannot find the date of manufacture in our reference books, and you do not want to have a background check, it is up to you to send us a link or copy of a reference as to what year the serial number of the gun you have purchased was manufactured. Otherwise you will be required to ship through an FFL and complete a background check.
