FEATURES: Brass blade front sight. Groove rear sight at top front of frame. Knurled hammer. Knurled blued break open latch at bottom rear of barrel assembly. Serial number matches on bottom of barrel cluster and bottom of grip. Grip panels show moderate wear with a small piece missing from the bottom of the right grip panel.

MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Steel barrel and lock plate. Brass mountings. One piece wood stock.
FEATURES: Brass blade front sight. One brass barrel band with strap extension joining the lock plate. Brass trigger guard, lower tang, back strap, and grip cap. Swivel type steel ramrod with button shaped head. Left rear of barrel stamped "JH / P". Side plate stamped "US / H. ASTON" in front of the hammer and "MIDDTN . CONN / 1847" vertically behind the hammer. Blued trigger. Cartouches on left side of stock above trigger guard.
CONDITION: Fine. The original bright finished metal components have a modest patina. Old pitting at the muzzle, breech, and bolster. Brass components show moderate wear with tooling marks on the bottom of the grip cap. Ramrod is very good. Moderate wear to stock with light scratches and gouges. Longitudinal cracks on both sides of grip running from the back strap to the lock plate on the right side and trigger guard on the left. Two other small longitudinal cracks run from the front of the trigger guard forward at 45 degree angles.

DESIGN: Single shot black powder pistol. 7-3/4” octagonal to round barrel. Bore at the muzzle measures to approximately .60".
MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Iron lock plate. Brass mountings. One piece wood stock.
FEATURES: Brass blade front sight. Brass trigger guard, lower tang, ramrod guides, fore-end cap, side plate screw housings, and grip cap. Tapered wood ramrod. Brass components line engraved at the borders with leaf engraving on the grip cap and an instrument motif on the bottom of the trigger guard. Lock plate is modestly engraved with another instrument motif at the rear of the plate.
CONDITION: Fine. The iron components have a modest patina with a flaking appearance to the barrel. Old pitting at the breech. Brass components show moderate wear and may have been cleaned at some point. Ramrod is very good, possibly a replacement. Moderate wear to stock with light scratches and gouges. Light longitudinal cracks developing with one "V" shaped crack at the rear of the top tang.

MATERIAL/FINISH COMPOSITION: Nickel and gold electroplated metal. Checkered ivory colored plastic grip panels.
FEATURES: Brass post front sight. V-notch rear sight located on tip of hammer. Knurled spur hammer. Hammer, cylinder, and loading lever are gold plated. Barrel, frame, trigger guard, and front and rear grip straps are nickel plated. All metal components are engraved with decorative motifs and border decoration. Top of barrel stamped "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-". Bottom left grip panel has molded depiction of American Eagle and shield. Uses the original serial number of 13511. Comes with cardboard sleeve, foam insert, letter of authenticity, and pamphlet on General Custer.
