1963 Chevrolet Corvette

Lot # 75 (Sale Order: 79 of 130)

1963 Chevrolet Corvette L84 Split Window ‘Fuelie’ Coupe Vehicle Identification Number 30837S101422 NCRS Top Flite® Award Winner Matching Numbers Example Concours Level Restoration 327 cid – 360 hp V-8 with fuel injection 4-speed Borg-Warner manual transmission With the Jaguar E-Type and Ferrari 250 garnering the bulk of attention from the motoring press, Chevrolet responded with a complete overhaul of the Corvette that was dubbed the Sting Ray. Based on Bill Mitchell’s 1957 SS racer and the XP-720 prototype, this all-new model was destined to take the market by storm. Introduced as both a roadster and coupe, it was smaller, more powerful, and wore a futuristic fiberglass body, boasting knife-edged front fenders and powerful haunches, styled by Larry Shinoda. To improve road holding and ride quality, Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov ordered development of an all-new stiffer ladder-frame chassis with an independent rear suspension that allowed it to compete with the best sports cars from Europe. For the first year only, every coupe featured a split rear window treatment that rendered these rare examples certain collectibles. Arguably, the most sought after American sports car ever produced, the 1963 Corvette Coupes are true unicorns of the hobby: revered, respected and valued as the very best of an immortal line. The Motorcar Offered Restored to an exacting standard by Rex Marshall, a long-time member of the National Corvette Restorer’s Society, this NCRS Top Flite® Award Winner is an exceptional example of the most prized Corvette model ever built. Fitted with the top of the line L84 fuel injected powerplant, this car is the rarest of the rare, wearing matching numbers to confirm its vaunted status as the most desirable Corvette in history. Opportunities to purchase such an iconic vehicle in the same condition seldom occur, making this example one the true stars of the auction, certain to attract attention and robust bidding from around the world. Estimate: $195,000-210,000

1930 Packard Standard Eight Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton

Lot # 76 (Sale Order: 80 of 130)

1930 Packard De Luxe Eight Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton Chassis Number 293317 Engine Number 294241 Vehicle Number 293301 Delivery Date July 31, 1930 Definitive American full classic with original Sport Phaeton coachwork, older restoration in good running order with 385 cid inline eight-cylinder engine with 106 horsepower, four-speed manual transmission, solid front axle with leaf-spring suspension, solid rear axle with hypoid drive gear, and mechanical drum brakes on all four corners. Packard introduced its landmark seventh series on August 29, 1929, bearing iconic styling from Raymond Dietrich. Featuring flowing fenders, numerous art deco touches and repositioned lighting, these are widely considered some of the most beautiful examples from the prewar era. While the running gear was not changed much from the previous version, save for a new carburetor from Detroit Lubricator, better cooling and the line’s first 4-speed transmission, it remained one of the most desirable, capable – and expensive – automobiles on the market, which would soon begin to feel the effects of the Great Depression. Today, these Dual Cowl Phaetons are considered one of the most collectible classics on the market, displaying inimitable styling, blue-chip ratings and a wide international following. Very few examples were ordered in period with this stunning coachwork, and fewer still exist in the present day, making this Packard a unicorn for classic car collectors. This example is an older restoration of an extremely rare 733 Standard Eight Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton that has resided in the same prominent Utah collection for almost three decades. Featuring a recent mechanical refresh that has brought this exquisite automobile back to sound running order, this is a rare opportunity to own one of the finest models from the premier luxury manufacturer of the prewar era in a condition that begs use for driving tours and CCCA events. Auction Estimate: $165,000-200,000

1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Lot # 77 (Sale Order: 81 of 130)

1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Vehicle Identification Number 8T03S115950 Home-reserved special order example Professionally restored to exceptional condition Accompanied by Shelby American build sheet and Marti Report 428 cid – 335 hp V-8 engine 5-speed Tremec manual transmission Carroll Shelby, who had won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with Aston Martin and driven factory racers for Austin-Healey and Maserati, gained everlasting fame when he mated an American Ford engine with a British-built sports car from AC to create the immortal Cobra. Always looking for an opportunity, Shelby leveraged his relationship with Ford to manufacture modified Mustangs that were sanctioned by the factory and sold through selected authorized dealerships. The first Shelby Mustang arrived in 1965 and became a legend, but the second generation upped the performance ante with the installation of the 428 cid Cobra Jet Big Block V-8. First built at Shelby’s Los Angeles-based facility, production moved to A. O. Smith’s factory in Ionia, Michigan. Most experts consider these genuine rarities to be ultimate muscle cars and rapid continued appreciation seems to validate those opinions. This is surely one to drive and enjoy while it continues to increase in value over time. The Motorcar Offered This Shelby GT500 was purchased through a home office special order (No. 2505) that specified a Traction-Lock differential with 3.50:1 gears, C6 automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes. Less than 300 miles have been covered since a comprehensive restoration that allowed for the installation of a few discrete enhancements, which can easily be reversed to allow the car to be shown at the national Concours d’Elegance level. Among the changes are a 5-speed Tremec T-5 manual transmission, FiTech fuel injection, and four-core aluminium radiator with twin electric cooling fans. Fully documented with its build sheet from Shelby American and a deluxe level Marti Report, this is a remarkable automobile that will attract interest wherever it is driven or shown. Estimate: $150,000-160,000

1933 Packard Super Eight Roadster

Lot # 79 (Sale Order: 83 of 130)

This car will not present at auction today. The owner is down with a serious bout with the flu and was not able to get the Packard to the auction. If interested in this car. Please contact me at 406-698-7930 the week of March 5. 1933 Packard Super Eight 659 Roadster Convertible Vehicle Identification Number 750412 Displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance© Multiple Best of Show winner Numbers matching example 384 cid 8-cylinder engine 3-speed manual transmission As manufacturer of some of the finest examples of the prewar era, Packard built its automobiles to the highest standards. First introduced in 1924, the Model Eight was the first of the breed to feature four-wheel brakes, which were a welcome addition due to the power on tap from the potent eight-cylinder engine. With some of the most attractive styling seen in the period, Packard continued to shine in 1933 with its tenth series models, which were featured in 55 body styles on five different wheelbase lengths. The Super Eight featured a 384 cid engine and a fully synchromesh transmission, making it a decided rarity for the period. In the midst of the Great Depression, however, few buyers could afford the enormous price tag, forcing production of the 1004 series to less than 1,400 examples. The Motorcar Offered Previously displayed at the world famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance©, this Super Eight 659 Roadster is the one of the most admired representatives of the much admired tenth series from Packard. Without question one of the finest examples in the world, this elegant convertible received a painstaking restoration that was thoroughly freshened in 2010, leaving it in impeccable cosmetic and mechanical condition. Recognised with a Best of Show award at the Utah Concours d’Elegance, this stunner has also won an additional 40 Best of Show trophies at smaller regional events, making it one most heralded examples in existence. Produced for only seven months, the tenth series is a landmark in Packard’s history, making this an automobile to treasure. Eligible and ready for participation in CCCA and AACA events, this is an investment grade Super Eight that is sure to garner worldwide attention on its way across the block. Estimate: $270,000-290,000

The following year, further revisions marked the debut of the Series II, which gained more attractive dual headlight styling, alloy wheels, and a 5-speed gearbox. With only 474 built, the 330 GT 2 + 2 is a rare, but surprisingly affordable 12-cylinder Ferrari. With contemporary examples trading for many millions of dollars, this model is sure to appreciate, while also providing its fortunate owner with an opportunity to drive a legend. The Motorcar Offered Owned by a prominent collector, this Ferrari V-12 is offered for sale straight from a professional restoration by Ferrari of Salt Lake, an authorized dealership that completed its assigned task to an exacting standard. With matching numbers, this pristine example has had only two owners from new, helping to explain the low mileage and exceptional care that it has received. Offered with a complete tool kit and an owner’s manual, this fantastic grand tourer is certain to delight its next custodian. Estimate: $275,000-300,000

1968 jaguar E-Type Roadster Convertible

Lot # 82 (Sale Order: 86 of 130)

1968 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Convertible Vehicle Identification Number: 1E16161 Engine Number 7E14761-9 Body Number 4E8128 Gearbox Number EE1457 This Series ?1 ½? 1968 Jaguar 4.2 E-Type Matching Numbers Convertible left the factory in October of 1967. Factory triple blue with a brand new professional paint job. This E-Type was an Arizona car its whole life and is a completely rust-free car. There were only 2,479 examples of the Series 1.5 (LHD) Roadster ever made. The Series 1 1/2 added many improvements in drivability and improved synchromesh gearbox. The cooling system was increased in capacity which eliminated overheating in warm climates. The 1968 Jaguar Series 1½ E-Type shares the desirable 4.2-liter engine and remarkable body style with its predecessor including the sexier smaller mouth. This model, which fell between the Series I and Series II, featured open headlights, twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, twin cooling fans, adjustable seats, rocker switches instead of toggles and two windscreen wipers instead of the previous three. As the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate (JDHC) attests it was manufactured in Coventry in October 26, 1967 and dispatched to Jaguar Cars, New York, USA November 29, 1967.... It was then sold to its original owner Mrs. Eleanor A. Smith in Arizona. Recently acquired from the original owner, the car was in original condition with its original (but very faded) factory paint. As much as we were tempted to leave the paint, we felt that it did not do the car justice and it needed a professional grade paint job. The interior was in excellent original condition so we left it alone except for the torn original convertible top which we replaced with a with a brand new one. The carpet looks to have been replaced at some point in the car’s life along with the addition of a more modern stereo and speakers. ENGINE/TRANSMISSION: Our engineer went through the car and mechanically she needed nothing. The original un-modified 4.2 liter straight six motor runs great, and makes excellent power. The original 4 speed transmission shifts effortlessly and makes for a spirited fun drive. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine compartment looks nice with new paint under the bonnet and the engine is clean and presentable and in original condition. EXTERIOR: The undercarriage was in excellent original condition so we left it as it was and focused on removing the chrome, emblems, and stripping off all the original worn paint. We then gave it a very high quality, laser straight show quality paint job in its original color as documented in the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. INTERIOR: On the inside the seats, dash, and carpet were in great condition and did not need to be replaced. The convertible top was replaced with a professionally installed quality replacement. All window glass is in excellent condition and windows roll up and down as they should. There are no rips or defects in the interior upholstery and all gauges work as they should. You will feel at home in the cockpit of this outstanding E Type. The result of this effort is a stunningly gorgeous Jaguar E-Type painted in its correct midnight blue paint, sitting on wire wheels and redline tires. This is a E type you will be proud to take to Vintage Car Rally’s, car shows, or just a fun summers drive. Auction Estimate: $85,000-90,000

1969 Ford Shelby GT500

Lot # 83 (Sale Order: 87 of 130)

1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Vehicle Identification Number 9F02R482693 Only 2 cars built to this specification Extensive documentation Rare factory Drag Pack 3:91 Traction-Lock Special order Grabber Yellow paint 428 cid – 335 hp Cobra Jet V-8 engine C-6 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission In 1967, the Shelby Mustang production line moved to Ionia, Michigan, allowing Ford to maintain greater supervision of their crown jewel. Notwithstanding the change in scenery, under the hood remained the 428 cid V-8 engine built to ‘Police Interceptor’ specification standards. For 1968, this monster was replaced with the heart from a snake, the Cobra Jet 428, which featured oversized valves, a high-performance intake manifold and ram air induction. With an output fast approaching 400 hp, the GT500 would become the ultimate muscle car. A major restyle appeared in 1969, which would be the last year for the fabled GT500, but these will always remain iconic examples from Detroit’s heyday, bringing joy to drivers and show goers alike. The Motorcar Offered This 1969 Shelby Mustang GT500 is offered with an unprecedented level of documentation, including the original invoice from Shelby American to the dealer, window sticker, individual order form, manufacturer’s retail label, Shelby American dealer list and deluxe Marti report. It was built to an incredibly unique specification, such that only one other example carries the same kit, including the eye-catching Grabber Yellow livery, Sport Deck rear seat, and the rare factory drag pack racing package with a 3:91 Traction-Lock rear axle and F60 x 15 rolling stock. Additional options included an automatic transmission, visibility group package, power assisted front disc brakes, tinted glass, a warning light tachometer, deluxe belts, AM radio and tinted glass. Believed to be a numbers matching example, the code on the engine block (9-D-22) corresponds with the vehicle’s May 28, 1969 production date. Early on it received a factory replacement carburettor, but that has recently been swapped out for a professionally rebuilt period correct replacement that is correct for the build date. Professionally inspected and appraised in late 2016, there is no visible evidence of prior accident damage. In order to ensure the highest degree of accuracy, the consignor replaced many items at great expense with period correct items, including the alternator, voltage regulator, wipers, battery, rear seatbelts, speakers and AM radio. Additionally, the steering wheel was restored and the rear axle was rebuilt, while the power brake booster, terminal cables and remote mirror bezel nut were replaced. One of the rarest muscle cars built, this pristine example is even more valuable due to the lavish care that it has received at the hands of the present consignor. Estimate: $125,000-130,000

1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

Lot # 85 (Sale Order: 89 of 130)

1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 Tribute Over $180,000 in receipts An over-the-top muscle car with unmatched performance 510 cid – 700 hp V-8 engine 5-speed Tremec TK0600 manual transmission Carroll Shelby, who had won the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans with Aston Martin and driven factory racers for Austin-Healey and Maserati, gained everlasting fame when he mated an American Ford engine with a British-built sports car from AC to create the immortal Cobra. Always looking for an opportunity, Shelby leveraged his relationship with Ford to manufacture modified Mustangs that were sanctioned by the factory and sold through selected authorised dealerships. The first Shelby Mustang arrived in 1965 and became an instant classic, but the second generation upped the performance ante with the installation of the 428 cid Cobra Jet Big Block V-8. Far more popular in period than its smaller engined sibling, the GT500 sported a fiberglass nose and tail section for reduced weight, functional hood scoops, and a number of options that could improve both performance and comfort. With such a vaunted reputation, it is no wonder that so many tributes have been built, replicating the memorable appearance, but raising the performance stakes to heights that would never have been possible in period. The Motorcar Offered This modern interpretation on an iconic formula started out as a Mustang GT with a 390 cid Big Block V-8. Although the body celebrates ‘Eleanor,’ what lies beneath is an unrestrained monster ready to devour any other car in its path. With more than $180,000 spent creating this rolling passion project, there is almost certainly nothing else like it in the world. Among the modifications carried out are a Ford Ken Craft Racing 427 cid engine with an aluminium block that has been stroked to 510 cid and mated to a Demon 4-barrel carburettor, Edelbrock Victor 427 intake manifold, and JBA performance exhaust headers. The entire package is good for more than 700 bhp. Additional upgrades include an aluminium radiator with twin electric cooling fans, Currie modular rear axle with 3.25 gears, side exit exhaust with electric dumps, subframe braces, and a Tremec TK0600 5-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch. Also included are a 4-link rear suspension with coil over units front and rear, Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, drilled and slotted brake rotors, Budnik custom wheels, rack and pinion steering, power windows, air conditioning, custom seats, Corbeau harnesses, relocated battery, custom painted fiberglass headliner and custom one-piece dash. A nitrous system has been installed, but never used. Difficult to replicate and impossible to beat at the stoplight, this is a muscle car for the enthusiast that wants something extra special to park in the garage. Estimate: $75,000-80,000

1964 Ford Thunderbird Sport Coupe

Lot # 87 (Sale Order: 91 of 130)

1964 Ford Thunderbird Sport Coupe VIN: 4Y837159498 1964 Ford Thunderbird Sport Coupe finished in Ice Blue Metallic. We have all heard the following regarding classic cars: Oh, the vehicle is rarer then Hens Teeth, no other car like it, best in the world, best car on the planet, or the entire solar system for that matter. Occasionally, the aforementioned assertions can be true. More often, they are an aggrandizement of the particular automobiles rarity. That being said this Thunderbird before you I will sum up as RARE. After all, I have no idea if there is another 1964 Thunderbird such as this one. 351 cubic inch 300 horsepower “FUEL INJECTED” engine with headers totaling $9000.00 to build. Options are as follows: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, electric antenna. Both seats are 10 way power operated. Clarion 10 disc CD player firmly mounted in the trunk. Tilt and Thunderbird’s patented swing-away steering wheel, cruise control, Ribbon speedometer, Kelsey-Hayes true wire wheels, remote controlled side view mirrors, Air Conditioning (currently not-functioning), dual exhaust which exit through the rear gravel pan tastefully, as well as, precisely finished. Dash mounted emergency flashers which were a first introduced in the model year of 1964. No, the car hasn’t been modified. I’d rather use the term, “Modernized”. The paint and body are unequivocally “PERFECT”. The previous word cannot be compromised, cannot be considered maybe, cannot be interpreted as possible. Chrome, stainless and all other brightwork are in sparkling condition. The attention to detail and exactness is ostensible in any area/section of the Thunderbird. I suppose the most enviable, “piece of work” would be the location of the automatic shifter. In 1964 Ford Thunderbird featured the shifter lever on the column. Actually throughout the late 1950’s all of the 1960’s and most of the 1970’s the car had a column mounted shifter, that’s it. Well, take a look inside and you will note the shifter is in the center console appearing as if it truly was ordered as such. Auction Estimate: $20,000-$25,000

Well, take a look inside and you will note the shifter is in the center console appearing as if it truly was ordered as such. Auction Estimate: $20,000-$25,000

1930 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Coupe Roadster

Lot # 89 (Sale Order: 93 of 130)

1930 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Coupe Roadster Fully restored by the previous owner in an attractive blue and black livery, this exceptional 1930 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Coupe Roadster benefits from a professionally rebuilt drivetrain. The stock Model A engine block was sleeved and had shell bearings installed in place of the original babbits. The rotating mass (including the crankshaft and flywheel) was balanced and provided with high-compression pistons, mild performance camshaft and a high-compression Police specification cylinder head (B-insignia casting) with stainless steel valves and hardened seats to allow use of unleaded fuel. The original popout ignition remains in a nod to period correct standards. Best of all, a Volvo overdrive, high-speed differential and rebuilt shock absorbers have been fitted, and turn signals added for safety. A luggage rack and rear mounted spare complete the package. A truly exceptional classic, this is a car to preserve and hand down to a future generation to show the beauty of a true American classic. Auction Estimate: $19,000-22,000 The owner states: "This is a 1930 Model A Roadster with a rumble seat, luggage rack and rear mounted spare tire. I have been a member of a Model A club in my home town for over 35 years. A few years ago, one of my good friends, in the Model A Club, had just finished restoring this car and got sick and thought he was going to die. I have always liked the car and he wanted to sell it. So, I bought it. It has a stock Model A block and has been sleeved and bearings instead of babbits. It has a balance crank shaft, high compression pistons and high compression police head. It has a Volvo over-drive, turn signals, slightly modified cam and a turned down and balanced fly wheel. This is an excellent running car and very fast. I never thought I would sell any of my cars, but it is getting to a time in my life that I need to liquidate. This has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my life. It’s time for someone else to be the caretaker of this beautiful car."

1955 Chevy 2 Door 210

Lot # 91 (Sale Order: 95 of 130)

1955 Chevrolet 210 2-Door Custom Restored from a dry California example with a pedestrian 6-cylinder engine, this stunner was hand crafted into a beautiful classic with modern performance and an eye-catching paint scheme that screams ‘look at me!’ The NOS fenders and a new hood completed the new metal necessary, while under the hood is a professionally rebuilt 350 cid Vortex V-8 fitted with custom headers and a glass pack exhaust. The Cadillac 700R/4 transmission with overdrive allows effortless freeway driving, while the air shocks provide a dream-like ride. American Racing Mags are the perfect touch, but the 100 mph flames are the literal cherry on top of a perfect sundae. Disc brakes offer great stopping power and the custom black Naugahyde interior is a sight to behold, especially with the sound system with CD player, custom steering column and wheel. A real delight, this is a perfectly sorted hot rod that can be driven anywhere in the country without concern. Auction Estimate: $27,000-30,000 The owner states: "When I was younger, I made a list of cars I wanted to have. This car was #4 on that list and is a car I that I wanted when I was in high school. Of course, I didn't have any money then, but when I got older and was able to afford it, I bought this car out of California and had it shipped to Utah. Originally it had a 6 cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. I pulled these out and installed a 350 Chevy with a Cadillac 700R4 transmission with overdrive. I installed disk brakes on the front. Being from a dry climate, it had very little rust! The front fenders are N.O.S. with a new hood. It has 60's style Mag wheels. The car is painted red and white with 100 mile an hour flames pinstriped in blue. It has an Ididit tilt steering column with a custom steering wheel with flame inserts. It has a CD stereo system and Black Naugahyde interior. The side windows and rear windows are tinted. This is an old school hot rod!" He also states: "I am getting older and I have a bunch of cars. I don't want to sell any of them, but don't want my wife and kids to have to worry about them. This is just tearing my heart out!"

1914 Ford Model T Hack

Lot # 96 (Sale Order: 100 of 130)

1914 Ford Model T Hack In 1914, at the young age of 14, Orson Lewis, started “Bingham Stages” transporting miners from Bingham UT to Salt Lake City UT. His 1st vehicle in 1914 was a Ford very similar to this truck. Orson Lewis later expanding the business to Lewis Brothers Stages with his siblings, which was in business in Salt Lake City for over 100 years. In 1947 Orson Lewis, longing to have one like his first, bought this Ford from a collector. The vehicle then sat in a garage at Lewis Brothers Stages for many years following Orson’s passing. Over the years, Orson’s Granddaughter Tina would often ask her father, Joe Lewis, about restoring the truck. Finally in approximately 1990 the Ford was rebuilt by Berlings Customs in Murray UT. It was broken down to every nut, bolt and screw and laid out on the floor. All pieces that were rusted or not repairable were replaced as it was reassembled. At that time, Joe decided to go with the “Woody”- Jitney body, which is an authentic design from that era and looks very similar to the original Bingham Stages Model T’s making the run between the Bingham Canyon and Downtown Salt Lake. The original brass headlamps had been stolen and were replaced with the black painted ones that are also an authentic era option. An electric starter was installed during the restoration for convenience. It seats 6 or 7 and has a two speed rear axle. Since the restoration, this tribute to early Salt Lake City history has been driven probably less than 25 miles. Auction Estimate: $12,000-$15,000
