Model 1904 Hospital Corp Bolo, by Springfield Armory, with leather scabbard, #31882, dated 1913, 12'' rounded blade, 17-1/4'' overall, brass S-shaped guard, wood grips held in place by brass rivets, finished with a brass pommel cap. Included is a 1909 dated Rock Island Arsenal T.C.C. leather scabbard with brass throat and steel swiveling belt hook. Condition is very good showing normal signs of age and wear. Blade markings remain clear. Handle with moderate oil darkening and impressions as well as a crack located at the brass rivet near the pommel cap. Brass parts on the bolo with a light to medium patina. Scabbard with clear maker's stamps and general scuffs and impressions. Stitching and seams remain tight. Belt hanger stop functions as designed. Scarce Ethiopian Contract FN-24 Bolt Action Rifle, #5615, 8mm, 22.5'' barrel, blue finish, European walnut stock and upper handguard, chamber area, Ethiopian crest and Lion of Judah acceptance marking. Acquired by the Ethiopian government prior to the Italian invasion with most delivered between 1933-35. Condition is very good retaining approx. 70%-75% original finish. Bolt is mismatched, rifle has no importation markings. Stock shows light even wear with darkening near metal surfaces. Upper handguard is solid with no fractures and small half-by-quarter loss to rear left portion which detracts little. Action is crisp, bore is fine. As our consignor states it was brought back from Italy by an American Service man, having been captured by the Italians from the Ethiopians and captured again by the Americans. Est.: $450-$650. Russian Three-Line Rifle, aka U.S. Model 1891( Mosin-Nagant Rifle), #902163, 7.62x54Rmm, Mfg'd by New England-Westinghouse, dated 1915. ''SA'' marked in Suomen Armeija (Finnish Army). 30'' barrel, armory blue, Finnish-replaced birch stock, cleaning rod present. Bolt and receiver serial numbers match, buttplate does not. Condition is fair to good. Stocks shows much oil darkening on the buttstock and wrist, usage and storage dings, with 75%-80% blue remaining although thinning near muzzle end of bore and on magazine box. Bolt assembly is bright but graying with age. All metal edges are sharp and metal has not been refinished. Light import mark on barrel. New England-Westinghouse and Remington mfg'd the Mosin-Nagant Three-Line Rifle for the Imperial Russian Gov't between 1915 and 1918. Because of the turmoil in Russia caused by the Bolshevik Revolution, the Russian Gov't defaulted on most of the production and the U.S. Army purchased a large number of the rifles to be used for training new recruits. Many of these rifles were also used by the Finns during the Winter War and the Continuation War (WWII) as evidenced by the ''SA'' marking on the receiver. Est.: $250-$450. (C&R)...more

Russian Model 1891 Three-Line Rifle, (Mosin-Nagant), mfg'd at the Tula Arsenal, #N84213, 7.62x54Rmm, mfg'd at the Tula Arsenal, 1899 and so marked. 30'' barrel, armory blue, cleaning rod present, bolt and receiver mismatched. Hexagonal Type 1 receiver. No Finnish markings. Unit disk removed. Pre-1904 barrel bands, walnut stock and handguard, 1908 Type 2 rear sight for spritzer-style bullet, 1909 reinforcing bolt in stock, 1910 sling slots. Condition is good to very good. Stock and handguard show some age drying and scattered bruises and dents. Wrist and buttstock show Armory dowel repairs. Blue is fading on metal surfaces. Magazine box and bolt are graying. Bolt, mid-band and triggerguard with matching numbers. Topped with a Norinco 2.5x20 scope. Condition is fine as sporterized. Stock has been sanded and refinished with letter ''R'' initial to bottom edge of buttstock, as well as noticeable impressions to the right side between the fingergroove and mid-barrel band; right side of stock with what appears to be an extremely fine hairline fissure that starts at the mid-point of wrist and extends in line at approx. the mid-point of the floorplate.
