Item Details
The P38 is a 9mm Luger semi-automatic pistol that was developed by Carl Walther GmbH as the service pistol of the German Army at the beginning of World War II. The P.38 was a groundbreaking semi-automatic pistol design, which introduced technical features still used today in current commercial and military semi-automatic pistols. The Walther P.38 was in production from 1939 to 1945. During WWII, the P.38 was produced by three separate manufacturers: Walther, Mauser, and Spreewerk. To conceal manufacturer identities, each wartime manufacturer used a letter code: ac (Walther); byf (Mauser), and cyq (Spreewerk). The Mauser factory was liberated by the Allied forces in April 1945. Control of the factory was handed over to the French army which was in desperate need of firearms. Many P38 parts were still available in the Mauser storage rooms and the French decided to take advantage of this to produce P38 pistols for their own needs. Mauser used the secret code byf up to 1944 but changed in 1945 to SVW. The last two digits of the production year were stamped behind the code. The French applied a new, very rough black phosphate finish over the original German finish, which is still prevalent on this gun. This 1945 French Occupied Mauser P.38 is marked "SVW45". Features include a 4.9" barrel, ribbed metal grips with lanyard ring and 8-round magazine. This gun is showing light wear on the original black phosphate finish, but appears to be unfired/ surplus with a perfect bore and is in "new" working order.

- Each successful buyer will receive a invoice FROM PROXIBID within 24 hours after the conclusion of the auction. This will be a "FINAL INVOICE" which will include shipping and/ or any other fees that may apply.
- If you do not see your invoice in your Inbox, please check your Spam. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN INVOICE BY MONDAY, MARCH 21st PLEASE LET US KNOW. (YOU SHOULD RECEIVE YOUR INVOICE SOMETIME SATURDAY NIGHT)
- There is a $15 Per Gun Paperwork Fee. This applies to guns being shipped and still applies if the buyer is an dealer.
- ALL GUNS BEING SHIPPED MUST BE SHIPPED TO AN FFL OR C&R - THIS INCLUDES BLACK POWDERS & ANTIQUES - This is an Illinois Law
- It is the buyers responsibility to have their dealer (Sporting Goods Store, Pawn Shop or Local Gun Dealer) email us a copy of their license - auction@willsullivanauction.com PLEASE HAVE YOUR DEALER INCLUDE YOUR NAME SOMEWHERE ON THE EMAIL.

- Guns may be picked up to avoid shipping costs. All Federal & State Gun Laws/ holding periods apply. The procedure for picking up a gun is the same as buying a gun in a gun store.
- SHIPPING RATES - 1 long gun = $50, 1 handgun = $30, $10 for each additional gun, regardless if it is a long gun or handgun.
- SHIPPING EXAMPLES - 2 long guns = $60, 2 handguns = $40, 1 long gun & 1 handgun = $60, 3 long guns = $70, 3 handguns = $50 - Items other than firearms will have a shipping cost listed at the end of the description
- WE WAIT ONE WEEK AFTER THE AUCTION BEFORE WE START PACKING/ SHIPPING. Items will be shipped out sometime between Monday, March 28th & Monday, April 4th.
- Each successful buyer will receive a tracking number from UPS when their package(s) have shipped.
