Austin Ruby 7

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 55)

For years in the 1920s and 1930s the tiny Austin Seven was a bestselling little car. It set every standard of small packaging, it seemed cheeky, simple, and promised low cost motoring. In many ways, it was similar to the Mini which followed decades later. When produced the 7 was on sale for 165, in the UK only the mass produced Ford Model T was cheaper, so it provided great value for money. At its highest point, which lasted for more than a ten years , well over 20,000 cars were being sold every year. In later life the engine found further use in Reliant three wheelers, and a passion for racing, encouraged by the 750 MC, saw power outputs pushed up to extraordinary levels.Austin sold tens of thousands of these little cars every year. At first the tiny 747cc engine produced a mere 10.5bhp but this increased gradually over the years, culminating at 17bhp in the mid1930s, by this time an Austin Seven could reach more than 50mph. The Austin Ruby 7 on offer is presented in Garret maroon over a matching leather interior, as part of a private collection the car has been meticulously looked after including a no expense spared 12,000 renovation and is now in very presentable condition. The paint and body work are in good order with no major blemishes, as is the interior which presents very well. Offered with a V5C UK Registration document and period buff logbook. A huge amount of motoring fun, this wonderful example is a fantastic opportunity to acquire what is widely regarded to be the marques most successful model.View 1935 Austin Ruby 7 on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1935austinruby7 for further details.

Caterham Super 7

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 2 of 55)

The Caterham 7 is a superlightweight sports car produced by Caterham Cars in the United Kingdom. It is based on the Lotus Seven, a lightweight sports car sold in kit and factorybuilt form by Lotus Cars. Between 1986 and 1995 a limited edition HPC version fitted with a BDR1700 engine and limited slip differential was available. The name derived from the fact that owners were required to take part in a High Performance driving Course before taking delivery of their new car, such was the performance available. HPC made use of the 1700 Cosworth BDR engine, which produced 170bhp. But the HPC isn't just about the grunt it's such a finely honed, beautifully balanced expression of the Lotus Seven genre that Autocar called it œpossibly the best allpurpose Seven there has been. This Super7, finished in black with black interior was produced in 1987 with the 1700 Cosworth BDR engine. Not long after the car was purchased by the wellknow comedian and petrolhead Rowan Atkinson as confirmed by its V5 document. Mr Atkinson is believed to have owned the car until August 1989, when the current owners made a visit to the Caterham factory. Having been interested in purchasing a Caterham Super7 for a while but mainly interested in one with a BDR engine, they were promptly told that whilst a new one was not be available, there did happen to be a secondhand example which was at the time being sold on behalf of Mr Atkinson. In 1990 the car was featured in a television programme called ˜The Driven Man' which detailed Rowans interest in cars, and aimed to get as many of his previous cars together. The current vendors still have photos from that day when Rowan stood in the car, one copy will be included in the sale. After several years of use, the car underwent extensive restoration by Super7 specialists Partridge Green Motorsport Ltd., returning to the road in April 2017.Alone the Super7 HPCBDR represents the pinnacle of Caterham in this period, however with a recent restoration by marque specialists, 28 years of current ownership and being originally owned by one of Britain's best loved comedians and allround petrolhead, this particular example is truly unique.View 1987 Caterham Super 7 HPCBDR on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1987caterhamsuper7hpcbdr for further details.

Porsche 964 Targa

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 3 of 55)

The Porsche 964 is the company's internal name for the Porsche 911 manufactured and sold between 1989 and 1994. Designed by Benjamin Dimson in 1986, it featured significant styling revisions over previous 911 models, most prominently the more integrated bumpers. It was the first generation 911 to be offered with Porsche's optional Tiptronic automatic transmission and allwheeldrive as options.Known internally as the 964, Porsche's new generation 911 debuted in 1989 and was available in two Carrera 2 and fourwheel drive Carrera 4 guises with its familiar silhouette clothing a radically revamped platform. Boasting a drag coefficient of just 0.32 thanks to its deeper bumpers, smoother sills and flatter floorplan, highspeed stability was maintained by a selfdeploying rear spoiler which rose above 48mph. Powered by an extensively reworked 3.6litre aircooled flatsix equipped with twin spark plugs per cylinder and a remapped Bosch Motronic fuel injection, the 964 claimed an impressive 250bhp and 229lbft of torque. Fitted with a fivespeed manual gearbox as standard, most variants were reputed to be capable of 060mph in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of over 160mph.This lovely UK example, presented in Guards Red with light Linen leather has been well looked after “ particularly as it's spent nearly half of its life in storage. For the first eight years, the car covered 49,002 miles and was serviced by a Porsche main agents and specialist as required. From 2000 until 2005 it was placed into storage whilst the owner worked abroad and in 2006 it was recommissioned with the odometer reading 50,942. From 2007 to 2008 the car covered a mere 4,177 miles and from 2011 to 2015 it was once again placed in storage. The car was then recommissioned in 2016 and in November of that year it had a full service which included a new clutch, flywheel, and alternator. Since April of this year, the owner has also had the paintwork refreshed and the leather upholstery refurbished. All this work is fully documented in the history file along with the service book and invoices to match the service stamps. This lovely example comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and a current MOT test certificate which expires in May 2018. As this is the Targa version of this model, it offers the great flexibility of letting the Sun in, or enjoying the soundtrack from that potent 3.6litre engine with the top firmly on.View 1991 Porsche 964 Targa on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1991porsche964targa for further details.

Ferrari F430

Lot # 5 (Sale Order: 5 of 55)

Manufactured from 2004 until 2009, the Ferrari F430 was the successor to the enormously successful 360M. According to its creators, the F430 was at least 70 new compared with the 360. It had a new engine, a new F1 gearbox, a new diff and a brandnew chassis, and although the styling is obviously reminiscent of the 360M's, in reality, it's pretty much a groundup design. Only the bonnet, doors, and roof were carried over the rest, even the door mirrors, were all new and largely the work of Pininfarina, overseen by Ferrari's design chief Frank Stephenson. The F430's complex variablevalvetiming system is also lifted straight from the Enzo's V12, and as ever there is drysump lubrication, a very high compression ratio 11.31, a variable airflow plenum chamber. and an enormous electronic brain making the decisions in the form of not one, but two, Bosch Motronic ME7 ECUs. At 483bhp it has a significant 21 more power than the 360. Its fabulous 4.3litre V8 will rocket this very sleek new Ferrari from 062mph in just 3.7 seconds and on to a maximum speed in excess of 196mph. Offered here is a UK, righthand drive F430 Coupe that is fitted with the rare and desirable manual gearbox. Presented in the classic combination of Rosso Corsa with Crema interior, this is a lovely example of a late production F430, one of the last manual V8's.Factory fitted options include full carbon driver zone, upgraded stereo system, ˜Daytona' seat inserts and seat, steering wheel and car covers. This car has covered 11,630 miles since leaving Maranello in 2008 and benefits from full Ferrari main dealer service history, and offered with current UK V5 and MOT valid until May 2018.View 2008 Ferrari F430 on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars2008ferrarif430 for further details.

In the US, it featured the sixcylinder engine that was carried over from the TR250, while the UK version had a more powerful fuelinjected engine from the TR5 that included the Lucas mechanical fuel injection system. 1967 MINI MOKE

Lot # 6A (Sale Order: 7 of 55)

The Mini Moke was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis at the same time as the Mini saloon and used an identical engine, transmission and suspension parts. Although the pre-production prototype came out in 1959, full-scale production did not start until 1964. It may seem strange to design and build a vehicle with no clear idea what you are going to do with it, but this was BMC in the sixties. It was initially mooted as a parachute-dropped utility vehicle for the British Army, but this notion failed at the first hurdle when they rejected it due to its low ground clearance. Sold overseas as a utility vehicle but in Britain viewed more as a fashion accessory, the Moke captured the 1960s’ spirit of freedom and self-expression more effectively than any other car. The Moke’s prominent role in Patrick McGoohan’s cult TV series The Prisoner has only served to maintain its popularity, and today this quirky Mini variant remains highly sought after. Some 14,500 Mokes were produced at BMC’s Longbridge plant between 1964 and 1968 before production moved to Australia where a further 26,000 were made between 1966 and 1981. Another 10,000 were made in Portugal before production finally ceased in 1993. One of the last UK-built Mokes, the example offered here today was restored in 2015 and is described to be in very good condition by the vendor; who advises us that many tens of thousands of pounds have been spent on it. The car comes with a comprehensive history file containing the restoration invoices, old MOT’s and tax discs dating back to 1979, and a V5C Registration Certificate. The original steering wheel and a more usable modern one are included in the sale.

Jaguar C-Type by Proteus

Lot # 8 (Sale Order: 9 of 55)

Jaguar built only 54 CTypes and it is worth noting that the first three Formula 1 World Champions “ Guiseppe Farina, Alberto Ascari and JuanManuel Fangio “ all bought them as road cars. It is not hard to understand why at the time of its introduction the CType represented the stateoftheart in racing car engineering and thus was one of the most advanced road vehicles in the world. Those multiple Le Mans wins in the 1950s, as well as numerous victories in the other great classic endurance events, coupled with superlative driving qualities that made it so attractive to three of the greatest drivers in history, have ensured a continuing healthy demand for replicas of Jaguar's rare and exotic sportsracer. An acknowledged master in this highly specialised field is Proteus Sports Racing Cars Ltd of Silchester, Berkshire, which since its foundation in 1985 by Jim Marland has established an unrivalled reputation for quality reproductions of classic sports cars. The car we have here today is believed to be an early model dated to the late 1980's during Jim Marlands' directorship of Proteus. Originally delivered new to Germany the Ctype has more recently been imported into the UK in 2015 by the present owner who has used the car for many long distance tours including Monaco, Pau, Le Mans, Goodwood and Silverstone. Recent work includes an overdrive overhaul, new springs, shock absorbers, wheels and tyres. There are several spare parts offered in the sale including a new gas flowed cylinder head. Built around an aluminium tub with aluminium doors and GRP bonnet, this lovely example on offer presented in the classic Jaguar colour of British Racing Green over green leather interior has an amazing patina that looks like it has just finished several fast laps of LeMans, few examples exude character like this. Sold with a current UK V5C registration document, the original German registration and importation papers and a valid MOT test certificate.View 1988 Jaguar C Type by Proteus on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1988jaguarctypebyproteus for further details.

Porsche 911S Coupe

Lot # 9 (Sale Order: 10 of 55)

The first of many highperformance versions of the newly introduced 911 arrived in 1966 with the introduction of the 911S. Easily distinguishable by its stylish Fuchs fivespoke alloy wheels, the ˜S' featured a heavily revised engine producing 160bhp, the increased urge raising top speed by 10mph to 135mph. A lengthened wheelbase introduced in 1969 improved the 911's handling, and then in 1970 the engine underwent the first of many enlargements “ to 2.2litres.By this time, the 911 models had established themselves as one of Europe's most refined and enjoyable sports cars for the road, and also as a serious weapon on the racetrack in productionbased formulae. To have a Porsche 911 as a road car made a statement “ you knew about the best things in life. Just take the king of cool for instance in the opening scenes of the cult movie Le Mans, Steve McQueen is seen charging around French country roads in a 2.2litre 1970 911S “ the glorious sound of its flatsix and virtually open fuel injection intakes are remembered by most who have seen the movie. It's perhaps no surprise that McQueen kept one for his own personal use long after filming was over. These 2.2litre 911S models are nowadays considered one of the most sought after pre1973 911's, offering a very flexible torquecurve, yet retaining the light, revhappy feel of the earlier 2.0litre models.Finished at the Zuffenhausen Porsche plant and sold in March 1970, this excellent topoftheline S model is finished in white with contrasting black leather interior. With vast expenditure at renowned UK specialists, Sportwagen, this wonderful matching numbers 2.2 S has been maintained regardless of cost and is a truly exceptional example of one of the best driving sports cars ever built. Both cosmetically and mechanically this car stands out and would be a strong contender at any worldwide Porsche Club judged event it retains so many original features only to be noticed by the most fastidious Porsche connoisseur.View 1970 Porsche 911S Coupe on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1970porsche911scoupe for further details.

Alfa Romeo SZ

Lot # 10 (Sale Order: 11 of 55)

Reviving its tradition of building specialbodied Alfa Romeos, including the original SZ Sprint Zagato competition coupé of the late 1950s, Carrozzeria Zagato unveiled its outrageous new SZ at the 1989 Geneva Salon. Built at Zagato's factory at Terrazano di Rho, the SZ was a joint project that also involved the styling departments of both Alfa Romeo and its parent company, FIAT, whose Robert Opron was responsible for the initial sketches.Originally typed ˜ES 30' Experimental Sports 3.0litre but known popularly as ˜Il Mostro' The Monster the aggressivelooking twoseater coupé eschewed the rounded styling and aluminiumalloy coachwork hitherto associated with Zagato's highperformance Alfas in favour of an angular bodyshell crafted in lightweight moulded plastic “ alloy roof excepted “ by Carplast, which was bonded to the floor pan of the existing Alfa 75. Lessons learned from the latter's IMSA racing programme influenced the SZ's suspension, which endowed the car with superlative handling and roadholding, some drivers recording lateral cornering forces of up to 1.4G during testing. Suspension development was overseen by engineer Giorgio Pianta, formerly team manager of the FIAT and Lancia works rallying teams. There was power assisted steering but no ABS.Powering the SZ to its highly respectable 152mph top speed was a 210bhp version of Alfa's superb 3.0litre fourcam V6, widely recognised as one of the finest power plants of recent times. This excellent performance was achieved thanks partly to the body's exceptionally low drag coefficient of 0.30 Cd, the product of many hours spent in FIAT's wind tunnel. The Alfa Romeo SZ offered here is number 111 of the 1000orso models manufactured and was delivered new to the UK and has the correct MPH speedometer. We are told that the car is in excellent all round condition having been well maintained throughout it's life and with recent work carried out by Alfa Aid. This included a cambelt change in 2016 and more recently a replacement starter motor and alternator. The suspension was also refurbished at this time with new ball joints, bushes and gaitors. The interior presents wonderfully with everything working correctly and the leather seats having recently benefitted from reconnolising. This wonderful example of a highly sought after and rare Zagato is showing approximately 56,000 miles on the clock and comes with a large history file, service book, rare parts manual and Certificato di Collaudo. The car also comes with a UK V5C and valid MOT until September 2018.View 1991 Alfa Romeo SZ on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1991alfaromeosz3 for further details.

Mercedes-Benz 170V Cabriolet Saloon

Lot # 11 (Sale Order: 12 of 55)

A landmark model for the Stuttgartbased manufacturer, the fourcylinder, 1.7litre 170 V was introduced in 1936 and formed the mainstay of MercedesBenz production in the immediate postwar years. In May 1949 an improved version “ the 170 S “ was introduced, which came with a 1,767cc engine equipped with an aluminiumalloy cylinder head and producing 52bhp, a 37 improvement over the 170 V. The suspension too had undergone considerable development, a thoroughly modern double wishbonecoil spring design being adopted at the front, while at the rear the track was widened and telescopic shock absorbers fitted. Production of the 170 S continued until 1955.From the cars documentation Daimler Benz commissioned the car and delivered it new in 1949 to the Fa. Herman Holter near Dusseldorf, according to factory built records. Generalleutnant Herman Holter fought in both World War I and World War II and was captured in Norway in May 1945, and was released from US custody in December 1947. An outstanding General Staff officer in the eyes of his superiors he was awarded the East Medal for the Winter Campaign in Russia , a 1st Class Long Service Award , Knights Cross, Iron Cross and the Lapland Shield.Photographs within the cars history file reflect the above, and it is suggested that the car was in Military Service at this time. Holter Published the Book Armee in der Artkis, an account of German Campaigns in Northern Finland and Norway , it was printed in 1953.First registered in the UK in June 1958, the original buff Log book supplied confirms its importation from Germany where it became the Property of the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works. It remained in their custody until it was sold from the Ministry to Mr Stickland in 1967. Paperwork available in the cars file confirms that Stickland worked from the Ministry in 1958, and we presume the car remained with him when he chose to retire.By 1975 the car had been shipped to the Channel Islands, but the vehicle was later returned to UK mainland where it remained off the road but was in listed as part of a collection used for film shoots. A Restoration progressed from 2009 by a Mr Carr who restored the car finishing it in the red and cream colour scheme as it presents itself today.A car with what would appear a most interesting history has seen very little use since its restoration and now presents in excellent overall condition.View 1949 Mercedes Benz 170V Cabriolet Saloon on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1949mercedesbenz170vcabrioletsaloon for further details.

*Regretfully Withdrawn* Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster

Lot # 12 (Sale Order: 13 of 55)

The Series 3 model powered by Jaguar's new 5.3litre, overhead camshaft V12 developing 272bhp. This resulted in a top speed in excess of 140mph with 0100mph taking just 16 seconds, the fastest ever acceleration figures for the model. Revisions to the running gear included antidive geometry on the front suspension and ventilated disc brakes. Power steering was standard and flared wheel arches were incorporated to allow fitment of wider rubber to maintain grip. A deeper radiator aperture with chrome grille completed the restyle. With manual or automatic transmission options the Series 3 ensured the immortal E Type would survive into the new decade of the 1970s.The example you see here is not only a rare surviving RHD Series 3 EType Roadster fitted with the more desirable manual gearbox but also one with a fascinating history. Despatched from the works on 7th June 1972 to Henleys and sold by Charles Follet of London W1, our EType was delivered new to the Honourable John Lyttelton 11th Viscount Cobham, specified in Willow Green with a Beige Interior. The EType was later acquired by Mr. Kevin Keegan, England footballer, manager, and keen Jaguar devotee. As a player in the 1970s and 1980s, Keegan has been described as œarguably the first superstar English player to attract the modern media spotlight. Keegan played for several clubs including Liverpool, Southampton and Hamburger SV, going on to manage Newcastle United, Fulham and Manchester City, winning promotion as champions in his first full season at all three clubs. Keegan later managed England from 1999 to 2000.After Keegan's ownership the car became part of a large Londonbased collection distributed around various rented garages in the capital. Upon acquiring the vehicle, our vendor was able to trace the previous registration document with Keegan's name on it. The mileage displayed is 29,000 recorded from new, which whilst cannot be verified, is believed to be correct having inspected the condition of the mechanicals. This genuine, original, Etype is offered in the same colour as when it left the factory, with the original steel wheels and beautiful factory panel gaps. Whilst we are unable to guarantee this, the vendor is hopeful that with new brakes, tyres, a full service and a good clean, the EType could be pressed once more into service. It is really welcoming to see such a nice genuine example of what is rapidly becoming one of the most popular of the EType variants, and our case one with both an interesting history and an exciting future.View 1972 Jaguar EType Series III Roadster on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1972jaguaretypeseriesiiiroadster for further details.

1972 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES III ROADSTER

Lot # 12A (Sale Order: 14 of 55)

PREVIOUS OWNER FOR 35 YEARS WITH BILLS FOR £40,000 - UK DELIVERED, MANUAL GEARBOX Whilst the concept of the Jaguar E Type was without doubt one of the finest pieces of automotive design ever to be put into general production, one of the problems with its continued development was the inevitable weight gain. Throughout the 1960s ever more stringent safety legislation emanated from the USA and, as this market was a major breadwinner for Jaguar, it was perhaps unavoidable that the purity of the original design would be compromised to compete within it. Emissions legislation had forced the adoption of twin Stromberg carburettors on trans-Atlantic bound cars resulting in a reduction in power to 177bhp instead of the quoted 265bhp for European examples breathing through triple Webers. However, the balance was to be redressed with the introduction of the Series 3 model powered by Jaguar’s new 5.3-litre, overhead camshaft V12 developing 272bhp. This resulted in a top speed in excess of 140mph with 0-100mph taking just 16 seconds, the fastest ever acceleration figures for the model. Revisions to the running gear included anti-dive geometry on the front suspension and ventilated disc brakes. Power steering was standard and flared wheel arches were incorporated to allow fitment of wider rubber to maintain grip. A deeper radiator aperture with chrome grille completed the restyle. With manual or automatic transmission options the Series 3 ensured the immortal E Type would survive into the new decade of the 1970s. Back In 1971, Jaguar’s jaw-dropping E-Type had been in production for a decade. Despite continual improvements, new emissions legislation in the all-important American market threatened to strangle the big cat’s performance. Jaguar responded by giving its revered sports car fresh claws in the shape of a 5343cc V12 engine developed from the stillborn XJ13 Le Mans project car. The new engine was both effortlessly powerful and eerily refined. “The turbine-like smoothness with which the engine provides a sustained shove in the back is almost uncanny, the more so when one accelerates hard in top gear without even a gear change to interrupt one’s headlong dash into the distance”. (Autocar 5th July 1973) With some 272bhp and 304lbft of torque on tap, the Series III E-Type once again had 150mph in its sights. A revised wheelbase yielded better cabin space and together with wider tracks front and rear, new anti-dive front suspension geometry and fatter tyres gave improved road holding. Imbued with a more muscular stance thanks to its flared wheel arches, re-profiled wings and larger grille, it also benefited from vented disc brakes and a restyled interior. This wonderful late E-Type was delivered to its first British owner in September of 1973, finished in Pale Blue (Jag 507) with Dark Blue leather interior and a manual gearbox. With one owner for 35 years, the E-Type has enjoyed much care and attention over the years, to the tune of £40,000. Amongst other items the E-Type has benefitted from an engine overhaul at 60,000 miles, a new Jaguar rear end, new brake discs, calipers, and brake pipes. The cooling system has been improved with new radiators, replacement hoses and a new water pump. The fuel system has been treated to an overhaul of the carburettors, and the fuel pipes replaced, and ignition uprated to an OPUS electronic system. Breathing is improved with a new exhaust manifold, and firing uprated with a new set of NGK spark plugs. The E-Type looks resplendent in its new retrimmed interior with new carpets, new bumpers and other chromework, replacement wheels and spinners and new headlamps. Now showing 84,000 miles from new (which has been confirmed by the previous owner), the E-Type is offered with a new tool kit, folder of service history (much of it with specialist Southern Roadworks), and an MOT certificate valid until August 2018. All in all a cracking example of what has rapidly become one of the most desirable variants of the timeless E-Type.

All in all a cracking example of what has rapidly become one of the most desirable variants of the timeless E-Type.

Rolls-Royce Phantom II

Lot # 13 (Sale Order: 15 of 55)

In the 1930s, RollsRoyce set new standards with its Phantom series. It was achieved not by making great technical breakthroughs, but by using the very best of proven technology. One could argue that various Hispano Suizas had more advanced specifications, but one has to note that many of them are now fitted with RollsRoyce gearboxes. There were no weaknesses in the cars which RollsRoyce made which is why, when the company began to use the slogan, ˜The Best Car in the World' it was regarded as measured opinion backed by solid collateral. The Phantom II, introduced in 1929, was said to have been the last model that Royce designed himself, working from his villa in the South of France. Between 1929 and 1935 around 1,770 of these chassis were built, being available in 144 and 150 wheelbase lengths, the former being used for the Continental models. These chassis were very popular with the major coachbuilders of the day, and some truly glorious cars were made. The wonderful Phantom II offered here was bodied as a limousine by Hooper Co., the famed London coachbuilders favoured by the Royal Family. Delivered new to its first owner, J. CooperDean of Christchurch in February 1934, the car passed through two more owners until 1965 when it was exported to California. The car returned to the U.K. in 1998 and was bought by the current vendor in 2015 to add to a collection of prewar RollsRoyce's.Described by the vendor to be in a very good condition throughout this car has been maintained to a high standard with recent work amounting to a little over 11,000 in his care. This included rewiring the lighting system and wipers, as well as rechroming the headlights. We are told that the engine was comprehensively overhauled and runs very well and at a reassuringly cool temperature even in traffic. Finished in black over cream with black leather interior, this striking RollsRoyce is stunningly elegant with classic lines and comes with a full history file and V5C registration.View 1934 Rolls Royce Phantom II on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1934rollsroycephantomii2 for further details.

Aston Martin DB7 Vantage

Lot # 14 (Sale Order: 16 of 55)

Aston Martin introduced the longawaited Vantage version of their successful DB7 in 1999. Sporting a Cosworth designed, 5.9 litre V12 producing a creamy 420bhp, the car was superquick and was electronically limited to 185mph. The V12 had a serious appetite for air compared to its 6cylinder predecessor, demanding a larger intake and other modifications to the frontal airflow were made to aid cooling.Other changes included chassis and braking upgrades to cope with the increased performance, and Ian Callum enlarged the grille, added fog lamps, and restyled the valances to give the car a more purposeful look. The Vantage interior leather trim was cut and sewn at a special trim shop at Newport Pagnell, where the carpet and wood veneers were also prepared. This stunning Aston Martin DB7 Vantage has only a covered a modest 30,000km from new. Described to be in good to excellent condition throughout, this very original unmolested example comes with all of its books, manuals and tools.MOT'd until July 2018 this example comes with a comprehensive service history stamped by both AstonMartin AstonMartin approved Specialists.View 2000 AstonMartin DB7 Vantage on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars2000astonmartindb7vantage for further details.

Porsche 911 3.2 Cabriolet

Lot # 15 (Sale Order: 17 of 55)

A ˜modern classic' if ever there was one, Porsche's longrunning 911 arrived in 1964, replacing the 356. The latter's rearengine layout was retained, but the 911 switched to unitary construction for the bodyshell and dropped the 356's VWbased suspension in favour of a more modern McPherson strut and trailing arm arrangement. In its first incarnation, Porsche's singleoverheadcamshaft, aircooled flat six displaced 1,991cc and produced 130bhp progressively enlarged and developed, it would eventually grow to more than 3 litres and, in turbocharged form, put out well over 300 horsepower.Porsche's first take on a 911 convertible had been the Targa model of 1965, a ˜halfway house' design chosen because of fears that a genuine softtop would not meet US Federal safety regulations, but by 1981 the company felt able to proceed with the genuine article. Introduced in normally aspirated 3.0litre form in 1982, the 911 Cabriolet lost little, if any, rigidity with the deletion of the Targa rollover bar, while its speedily raisedlowered top featured a detachable, zipfastened rear window. Introducing a ˜proper' softtop proved to be a shrewd move by Porsche, as sales immediately exceed those of the Targa version, and the popular Cabriolet continued when the ˜Carrera' name was applied to all 911 models in 1983, coincidentally with the introduction of the 3.2litre engine. Not merely enlarged, the new engine was also extensively revised and produced 231bhp, 27 horsepower up on its predecessor. The 911 Carrera's top speed was now 152mph, with 100mph reachable in a breathtaking 13.6 seconds.Provided with its original books and manuals, this car comes with a comprehensive history file of invoices that include a recent topend engine rebuild costing in excess of 4,000 GBP. Fitted with desirable Fuchs alloys and sports seats, this example presents beautifully and is said to be in good condition throughout with none of the commonly seen rips or tears in its leather upholstery.Equipped with the desirable G50 gearbox, and offered with a very reasonable reserve, this fun bit of motoring is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.View 1987 Porsche 911 3.2 Cabriolet on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1987porsche91132cabriolet for further details.

Ferrari 250 GTE

Lot # 16 (Sale Order: 18 of 55)

Intended to extend Ferrari's appeal to a sector of the market already contested by rivals Aston Martin and Maserati, the 250GTE 22 arrived in the summer of 1960. Ferrari's first ˜fourseater', the 250GTE 22 was directly descended from the most commercially successful Ferrari of its day, the 250GT. Launched in 1954, the latter featured a lighter and morecompact Colombodesigned 3.0litre V12 in place of its Europa predecessor's bulkier Lampredi unit. The 250GT chassis followed Ferrari's established practice, being a multitubular frame tied together by oval main tubes, though the independent front suspension now employed coil springs instead of the transverseleaf type. A fourspeed, allsynchromesh gearbox transmitted power to the live rear axle while hydraulic drums all round looked after the braking. Disc brakes arrived late in 1959 and a fourspeedplusoverdrive gearbox the following year, and both these features were incorporated into the 250GTE from the start of production in 1960.Pininfarina's brief had been to produce a ˜22' without sacrificing the 250's elegant good looks or sporting demeanour and the master carrozzier succeeded brilliantly with the GTE. By moving the engine, gearbox and steering gear forward and the fuel tank back, sufficient room was created for two occasional rear seats within the 250GT's 2600mm wheelbase. The Tipo 128E outsideplug engine's 240bhp ensured that there was no reduction in performance despite the inevitable gain in weight. A popular and highly profitable car for Ferrari, the 250GTE remained in production until 1963.This Ferrari 250GTE chassis 3153GT was sold new in 1961 in Grigio Silver with sumptuous black leather interior. According to the 250 register it still remained highly original when it was sold in 1992 by Tom Arra with just 36,000 km displaying on its odometer. It was at this time it was repatriated to European shores from the USA.A desirable series one car which has formed part of the current owner's small but exclusive private collection in Beligum , and is offered with Beligian registration papers this matching numbers example is highly original , this car is not to be confused with so many over restored examples and has covered fewer than 5,000 kilometres since 1992. Tastefully finished in silver with its original black leather interior, this most practical of Ferraris has in recent years grabbed the collectors' attention as many have grown to appreciate the comfort, style, and usability that made them so popular in the early sixties.View 1961 Ferrari 250 GTE on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1961ferrari250gte for further details.

Mercedes-Benz 190SL

Lot # 17 (Sale Order: 19 of 55)

Stylistically evocative of the mighty 300SL, but with a slightly less complex drive train, the 190SL remains among the most desirable roadsters of its era. The prototype was first shown at the 1954 New York Auto Show, with the 190SL produced between May 1955 and February 1963.The 190SL was sold alongside the 300SL, similar not just in terms of styling, engineering and detailing, but also sharing fully independent suspension, double wishbone suspension at the front and swing axles at the rear. The 190 SL was powered by a new, slightly over square 1.9 litre straightfour SOHC engine that developed 120hp with twinchoke dual Solex carburettors, the fourcylinder engine block was based on the sixcylinder engine of the 300 SL. Teamed with a fourspeed manual gearbox, sleek aerodynamics and comparatively light weight allowed for a top speed of 115mph and a respectable 060 time of 13.0 seconds.Delivered new on the 18th June 1960 this rare right hand drive 190SL is one of an approximate 500 examples made from an overall production run of 25,881.Finished in ivory with red leather interior, this wonderful example has recently undergone mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment with numerous bills detailing the work completed in its history file. All work has been completed by marque specialists such as Redcastle and includes works such as new trim, new black convertible top, new tyres and all of itsbrightwork rechromed or replaced.Still fitted with its period correct solex carburettors and matching numbers engine, this is a truly original example of the rarest specification 190SL's ever made. Its desirable colour combination making it a true head turner, and not to mention what a great investment opportunity this car represents.Having recently undergone a service by Redcastle and found in lovely condition throughout, the car represents the style of true Mercedes Benz Sports Car motoring in the 1950's and offers as much pleasure to drive today as it was when manufactured in 1960. Aston Martin DB5 Saloon

Lot # 18 (Sale Order: 20 of 55)

To many observers the Aston Martin DB5 is the epitome of the company's models during the David Brown era, boasting both beauty and refined high performance. It is also perhaps the best known Aston Martin in the world, having starred in the James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball, complete with machine guns and other gadgetry. In evolution terms the DB5 is a Series V DB4 but with a 4.0 rather than 3.7 litre engine, its coachwork embodying detail changes it thus featured similar stunning styling from Touring of Milan, incorporating DB4 GTstyle fairedin headlamps, with aluminium panels attached to a lightweight steel frame using Touring's Superleggera method of construction.Underneath the platform chassis used independent coil spring wishbone front suspension with a live rear axle located by Watt linkage and parallel trailing arms. Disc brakes were fitted all round, but the Girling items of the DB4 GT rather than the DB4's Dunlop discs.Following its launch in July 1963 in saloon and convertible forms the DB5 received much praise, not least for its performance. A maximum of 148mph in standard trim, allied to 060 and 0100mph in 7.1 and 16.9 seconds respectively, made the DB5 one of the fastest cars available and a match for the very best from Europe. Its production, however, was fairly shortlived, ending in September 1965 after 1,021 had been made of these only 123 were Convertibles while just 65 had the Vantage engine. This early matching numbers DB5 was first registered in late 1963 in the colour scheme of Caribbean Pearl with a red Connolly leather interior, and fitted with the ZF 5speed gearbox. The supplier dealer was Brooklands of Bond Street the Aston Martin agent for London's West End at the time, with the first owner being the head of Manger Henley Ltd. of Borough High Street, London. We note that the build sheet also details service work carried out between the car's delivery and March 1970 at c.45,000 miles, by which point ownership had passed to builder Jack Rhodes. Jack Rhodes was a successful builder with a liking for the ˜Good Life', however the recession of the lateseventies hit the building industry hard Jack's business took a downturn and many of his assets including his treasured Aston had to be sold.In 1986 the car was bought by John Goldsmith of wellknown Aston Martin specialists Goldsmith Young, at which point this luxury sports GT car become a successful historic racer. As such the car was modified for racing with wider arches to accommodate different wheel choices, which it still wears today. We note that plaques still on the steering wheel show it achieved fastest laps at Brands Hatch in 1986 and at Oulton Park in 1987. In the earlynineties the car changed hands again, being purchased by a Mr. Pitkethley who maintained the car well in 2000 the engine was rebuilt to a ˜fastroad' specification, the conversion raising the capacity to 4.2 litres with Cosworth pistons. The Aston was also refinished in its current livery of Silver Birch with black leather upholstery. In current ownership the Aston has benefitted from a thorough inspection, and we feel provides an enticing prospect for either fast road use, or concours restoration. The DB5 is offered with comprehensive documentation, a heritage certificate, UK V5 document and current MoT. A good example of the definitive GT car of the 1960s, and one with a fascinating history. Bentley Continental T

Lot # 19 (Sale Order: 21 of 55)

Introduced in June 1996, the Continental T was a shortwheelbase version of the Continental R, some 4 100mm being taken out of the chassis aft of the doors. With 400bhp at its disposal and crouching aggressively on 18 wheels, the lowslung Continental T looked every inch the thoroughbred Bentley sports car, the cockpit with its engineturned dashboard recalling the heroic exploits of W.O.'s 1920s racers. The engine start button was another neat ˜retro' touch. Despite weighing as much as two Ford Mondeos, the luxuriously appointed Continental T was certainly no slouch, racing to 60mph in a tireshredding 5.8 seconds on its way to a governor limited top speed of 155mph. Equally eyewatering was the price at time of launch.A good example of the rare and desirable T model finished in a great colour scheme of dark Atlantic Blue with parchment hide interior. It features a stereo upgrade and optional rear parking sensors.Originally supplied and maintained by Bentley agents Weybridge Automobiles, the car has a fully stamped original service book with 13 service stamps recorded with Official Bentley dealers and specialists. It has covered 70,000 miles from new and the cars good order would suggest it has been well cared for by each owner.A fine example of a desirable contemporary Bentley model that remains eminently usable. It comes with the above mentioned stamped maintenance book, all other owners manuals, tools, keys, sundry invoices and a current MOT Certificate expiring in September 2018.View 1997 Bentley Continental T on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1997bentleycontinentalt3 for further details.

1973 FERRARI DINO 246 GTS

Lot # 20A (Sale Order: 23 of 55)

RIGHT HAND DRIVE, UK DELIVERED CAR - ORIGINAL COLOUR COMBINATION This classic and nowadays much sought-after Ferrari was named after Enzo Ferrari’s son Alfredino, who died in 1956, aged 24. Enzo Ferrari credits his son with the inspiration for a series of successful small and medium capacity V6 racing engines built by Ferrari from 1956, and in turn the name was given to a new line of mid-engined production Ferrari V6 coupés which first went on sale in 1969 in two-litre form. The definitive 246 Dino, with its 2.4 litre V6, appeared in late 1969 and fewer than 4,000 were built (about 1,200 of them the detachable roof Spyder version) before introduction of the slightly larger, and completely re-styled V8-engined 308 Dino in 1973. The delightful bodywork was designed by Pininfarina, and was built in steel by Scaglietti. It covered a straightforward chassis of tubular steel which carried wishbone independent suspension at each corner. The compact engine, with four chain-driven overhead camshafts, was mounted transversely above the five-speed gearbox and just ahead of the rear axle line, allowing both a comfortable cockpit and usable boot space. With its flexible engine, uncomplicated chassis, outstanding handling and superb looks; the 246 Dino is a true classic the like of which has made the name Ferrari possibly the most revered of all motor manufacturers. It is certainly one of the most collectible of all Seventies sports cars. An original right-hand drive model, this Dino 246 GTS was delivered new in November 1972 and sold to its first owner, Mr T. Connor of Harrow. Chassis 04634 was originally finished in Verde Germoglio with black leather interior, and is believed to be one of only seventeen right-hand drive examples finished in this colour. In 2009 the Ferrari was exported to Malaysia where it was serviced by Douglas Garage, Selangor which is supported by several invoices in the cars file. In 2015 the car was repatriated to the UK where it was serviced by marque specialists, Fosker’s. Earlier this year, the car was restored and re-sprayed in its sensational original colour, Verde Germoglio by Hexagon of Highgate, with a new black leather interior trim provided by Luppi, Italy. This Dino 246 GT has been recently serviced and comes with a current MOT ready for the lucky new owner. There is an exhaustive history file containing the original purchase invoice, numerous bills, expired MOT’s, and a UK V5C registration certificate. The car also benefits from having a leather book pack, two handbooks and two sets of keys. Having been continuously pampered and recently restored, this Dino presents an opportunity to own one of the very best mid-engined Ferrari’s in an exceptionally eye-catching livery.

Fiat Topolino

Lot # 21 (Sale Order: 24 of 55)

If they dished out Oscars for cuteness, the adorable Topolino would surely be head of the queue. A masterpiece of minimalist engineering, it was the brainchild of Fiat boss Senator Giovanni Agnelli who, in 1934, envisaged a small massproduced ˜people's car' capable of carrying two people in comfort with 50kg 110 lbs of luggage. The task was entrusted to 29yearold Dante Giacosa, an ace engineer who had cut his teeth in Fiat's aeronautical department and was now a fast rising star of the car division by 1946 he was director of engineering for the whole company. Launched in 1936, the resulting Fiat 500 quickly dubbed the ˜Topolino' or ˜Little Mouse' was an instant classic, bristling with space saving ingenuity and engineering subtlety. The coachwork was largely the work of chief stylist, Rudolfo Schaffer, and not only looked gorgeous but also endowed the car with great strength when bolted to Giacosa's chassis. It was powered by a 569cc fourcylinder, sidevalve, watercooled engine mounted ahead of the front axle, with the radiator located behind the engine where it doubled as the interior heater. Although it developed a modest 13bhp, it could still reach 55mph and cover 50 miles on a single gallon of petrol. Transmission was via a fourspeed gearbox, with independent front suspension, 12volt electrics and Lockheed hydraulic brakes. Best of all was the rolltop canvas roof which turned it into almost a full convertible.Add in the low price of just 120 at launch and it's no wonder that the little mouse was a huge success, selling over 120,000 units before a major redesign in 1948.This wonderful example presented in Fiat country green is in very presentable condition and shows just over 45,000 kilometres on the odometer. There weren't many cars more popular in its day, certainly none that exude the Topolino's character. Known for its charming looks and superb fun the Topolino we have here is a delightful example and is offered with an Italian libretto.View C.1936 Fiat Topolino on httpwww.coys.co.ukcarsc1936fiattopolino for further details.

Jaguar XK150 3.4 Litre

Lot # 22 (Sale Order: 25 of 55)

œThe Jaguar XK150 is undeniably one of the world's fastest and safest cars. It is quiet and exceptionally refined mechanically, docile and comfortable we do not know of any more outstanding example of value for money. The AutocarWhat would turn out to be the final glorious incarnation of Jaguar's fabulous ˜XK' series of sports cars arrived in 1957.As its nomenclature suggests, the XK150 was a progressive development of the XK120 and XK140, retaining the same basic chassis, 3.4liter engine and 4speed Moss transmission of its predecessors while benefiting from a new, wider body that provided increased interior space and improved visibility courtesy of a singlepiece wraparound windscreen, replacing the XK140's divided screen.Cleverly, the new body used many XK120140 pressings, the increased width being achieved by means of a 4wide central fillet. A higher front wing line and broader radiator grille were other obvious differences, but the new model's main talking point was its Dunlop disc brakes. Fade following repeated stops from high speed had been a problem of the earlier, drumbraked cars, but now the XK had stopping power to match its prodigious straightline speed. Introduced in the spring of 1957, the XK150 was available at first only in fixed and drop head coupe forms, the open Roadster version not appearing until the following year. At 210bhp, the standard 3.4liter engine's maximum power output was identical to that of the XK140, so performance was little changed. Overdrive and a BorgWarner automatic gearbox were the transmission options, the latter becoming an increasingly popular choice, while a Thornton PowerLok limitedslip differential was available for the XK150S.This delightful matching numbers XK150 finished in Carmen Red with black interior trim was distributed by Jaguar cars, New York on the 20th March 1958, with its first owner being a Mr. Richard Piper according to its Jaguar Production Record Certificate. Brought back to the UK 25 years ago this car then stayed in single ownership until recently.Recently subject to light restoration including work completed to the wire wheels, new tyres fitted, stainless steel exhaust and carburettors reconditioned. The XK150 is said to be in superb condition but the current owner and an independent report by a Jaguar specialist notes that ˜the interior is very tidy, leather good, head lining good, dashboard good. The car drives well and pulls strongly, with oil pressure when hot 40psi at idle 60psi at 2000RPM.'View 1958 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Litre on httpwww.coys.co.ukcars1958jaguarxk15034litre for further details.
