Le Monet-Goyon Tricycle

Lot # 201 (Sale Order: 1 of 139)

These models appeared from 1921 right up until the 1950's and was designed for and used by people who cannot use pedals. It has a chassis made of steel tubes with two big wheels at the rear and a deep basketry seat. At the front, the open tubular frame ends with a wooden footrest floor where two tubes hold the steering column. There is a hand pedal with a chain for transmission to the front wheel. There is also a small directional front wheel with drum brakes on the front wheel. They cost originally 950,000 Francs, depending on model. This example was acquired in France from the Museum of Peter Harris, renowned vintage bicycle collector in 2011 and imported into the UK by the vendor. The frame, basket seat and tyres are in sound working order.

Nissan Mitsuoka Jaguar 1

Lot # 202 (Sale Order: 2 of 139)

Mitsuoka Motors is a small Japanese car company, noted for building unique cars with unconventional styling, some of which imitate British vehicles of the 1950s and 1960s. The company is primarily a coachbuilder, taking production cars for example the Nissan March and replacing various aspects of the bodywork with its own custom designs. Mitsuoka Motors has a sales outlet in the UK and is soon to launch the Mitsuoka Roadster in the UK which is based on a Mazda. This Mitsuoka is based on a Nissan Micra, with the front styling similar to that of a Jaguar Mk. II. The vendor advises us that M363CDM drives with no known faults and with such items as power steering, electric windows, air conditioning and automatic transmission, this is a light easy car to drive around town in. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate this Mitsuoka is offered for sale without reserve.

Lancia Beta 2000 Berlina

Lot # 203 (Sale Order: 3 of 139)

Continuing a tradition established by founder Vincenzo Lancia of naming his early vehicles after letters from the Greek alphabet, the 'Beta' was launched in 1972 to symbolise a new beginning for the car maker under new ownership by Fiat. The Berlina had fastback styling although the boot was of traditional operation and not hatchback. From a technological and design perspective the engineering was pure Lancia detailed, well engineered finesse. The motoring press praised Lancia's new car, which was very advanced for its time, for its zesty performance and excellent road-handling characteristics. All in all the Lancia Beta was seen as a very charismatic drivers car and it went on, in all guises, coupé, spider, HPE and Montecarlo to become the best selling model ever launched by Lancia, up until that time. A high performance two litre twin-cam model (+20% torque) was introduced in 1975 and automatic was optioned from 1978. Supplied new on 27th June 1979 by Colebrooks Ltd. on the Island of Jersey, this top of the range two-litre Berlina was specified with automatic gearbox, metallic silver paintwork, stereo and blue cloth. Mr. Stevens took the car from Jersey to Isle of Mann in 1980 where the Beta stayed for 20 years, covering just 24,000 miles in that time. He continued to use the car sparingly when he moved to Solihull before selling the car to Mr Collins, a Lancia enthusiast in 2003 who has kept the Beta garaged ever since, albeit with formal ownership transferring to his closest friend's father in 2013 until being registered back at Mr. Collins address, this time in the name of his friend. Essentially this car has spent 99% of its life and miles in the care of two gentlemen and today's low mileage of 29,000 miles is supported by the service history, old Mot test certificates and time-warp condition. The car is reported to start on the button and drive tightly with excellent transmission and ride comfort. The lively two-litre engine delivers a satisfying engine note, the interior has been beautifully preserved and has even retained its 1970's Lancia new car smell. Carpets are perfect and the original Lancia overmats are also in excellent order. Door cards, buttons, belts and switches are virtually as good today as they always were. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the best remaining righthand drive Lancia Beta Berlinas.

Citroën Light Fifteen

Lot # 204 (Sale Order: 4 of 139)

The Traction Avant, French for 'front-wheel drive', was designed by André Lefèbvre and Flaminio Bertoni in late 1933. While not the first produced front-wheel drive car, it was the world's first front-wheel drive, steel monocoque production car and successfully pioneered front-wheel drive on the European mass car market. Lefthand drive versions were built in Paris, Belgium and also Denmark; righthand drive cars in Slough, England. The Slough version was called the Light Fifteen and the long wheelbase model became the Big 15. First registered on the 14th April, 1955 in London and presented in red with burgundy trim, this light 15 was purchased in the 1990's at a Sotheby's auction before becoming part of a collection in Ireland and then returning to the U.K. The original colour was grey but had a full engine-out respray in the early 1970s; it appears to have been executed to a very high standard, however given time, the paint is now showing its age. The original leather interior in dark burgundy has been well used and the rear seats have a beautiful patina. Bakelite faux wood window trims are in superb order as is the wood dash and the fine dashboard instruments. Believed to have been restored in 1992, the engine received new pistons, liners and rings, valve guides and exhaust valves. In early 2014, the brakes were overhauled with new brake shoes front and rear and new brake hoses; it also boasts a full set of correct Michelin X tyres including the spare. Over the past 18 months, the engine and transmission have seen work done with replaced or refurbished parts including: rebuilt gearbox, rebuilt dynamo, new voltage regulator, rebuilt Solex carburetor, new spark plugs, new points, new ignition coil, new condenser, new battery, new distributor cap and spark plug leads. The vendor states 'the car starts on the button and is a pleasure to drive' and is accompanied by various receipts of recent works, old MoT test certificates, a V5 registration document and green buff logbook from 1970.? * Interested parties should note that unfortunately the near side drive shaft has recently broken on this vehicle. However the vendor has stated that he will repair and deliver (subject to location) the Citroen to a successful bidder. The necessary parts have been ordered and the repair should be carried out within a short time frame. Any successful bidder will not be expected to pay for the car until the repair has been carried out.

Triumph TR3 Race Specification

Lot # 205 (Sale Order: 5 of 139)

The Triumph TR3 was built between 1955 and 1957 during which time only 1,286 cars were produced for the home market. According to the TR Register, as of 2002, there remains only 893 registered TR3/3A's on UK roads. The TR3B is an unofficial name given nowadays to the final version of the TR3 which was produced in 1962. With possible links to racing driver Reg Woodcock, which we can unfortunately not confirm, this TR3 has been heavily modified to be a very capable competitor. Believed to have also been used by Chris Gooding, this original righthand drive from new is supplied with a Heritage Trust certificate and offered at no reserve. Presented in red a new owner could race, restore or simply put the pieces of the puzzle together; this is a very attractive proposition for any bidder.?

Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce

Lot # 206 (Sale Order: 6 of 139)

The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, a two person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades. Over that period, only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes were made with Pininfarina assembling the first three series out of the four. Recently imported from South Africa, this righthand drive Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce, previously owned by the Chairman of the Johannesburg Alfa Romeo Owner's Club, is presented in Alfa Romeo Rosso with black leather seats and Campagnolo alloy wheels. There is evidence that the Spider was originally blue and has been over coated in its current colour. This has led to some areas of paintwork having reacted but look more closely and you will find a very straight and rust free Alfa Romeo. The interior has the rare option of leather seats that are in excellent order. The hood, although good, does have a repaired split rear window. The boot area is clean and shows that a new fuel tank has recently been added, however, there is not a spare wheel fitted. We are informed that this Spider has a NOVA certificate and has import duties paid and will arrive at the sale with an MoT test certificate and UK registration. The Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is as popular as ever and with this sound and straight example, an important factor, being offered with a very tempting estimate, we feel that it represents excellent value in today's market place for an enthusiast to take to the next level. ?

Mercedes-Benz E320 Sportline Cabriolet

Lot # 207 (Sale Order: 7 of 139)

The debut vehicle for this line was the 300 CE-24 Cabriolet, built until 1993 until it was succeeded by the E320 Cabriolet which became a classic in its own right. What is more, it had the potential to become a genuine piece of automotive history since its production period was relatively brief and numbers built were relatively low. The design stems from their four-door counterparts with modern features such as the eccentric-sweep panoramic windscreen wiper, independent suspension and highly advanced safety systems. These were also disguised roll-over hoops in the event of an accident. If un-extended, they automatically deployed in 0.3 seconds if sensors detected an 'unusual angle of attack'. The convertible roof stowed away under a rear panel leaving nothing above the body to disturb the cabriolet form. This 1996 Mercedes-Benz E320 Sportline Cabriolet was the dealer demonstrator for Jacksons of Guernsey, then sold and has remained in the same family ownership until very recently when it was imported to the UK. This example is fully loaded with all the extras including air-conditioning, electric steering column, wood/leather steering wheel, ARS, cruise control and electric heated seats. It has only covered 62,000 miles from new which is confirmed with a full Mercedes-Benz service history with the last service being carried out in January 2016. Finished in black with black roof and grey leather interior, this E320 will be supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2017, the handbook pack which includes all the manuals which were supplied when the car was new and a file of invoices which go back to 2002. This desirable Sportline model is a delight to drive and has the flexibility of being a very useable, everyday convertible. Back in 2006, 'Honest John', an impartial and highly experienced motoring journalist, described this model as 'a beautiful and appreciating classic.' ?

Triumph Stag

Lot # 208 (Sale Order: 8 of 139)

Launched in 1970, the Triumph Stag was a luxury grand tourer. Envisioned as a luxury sports car, it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A new 2.5 litre, V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2,997cc. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox although manual gearboxes with overdrive are available. Electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes were fitted as standard. Owned by the vendor for the last three years, this well-prepared and striking example has spent the last two of these under restoration. The car was fully disassembled; including engine, glass and wiring loom, and repainted in the vendor's childhood dream colour of Triumph Mallard Green. As the suspension was re-fitted, polybushes were added to increase ride quality and the final drive was rebuilt. All engine ancillaries, including core-plugs, were removed cleaned, fresh gaskets added and the complete unit refitted. An up-graded burr-walnut dash has been installed, complete with the more attractive Mk. I Stag instruments. The seating has been re-foamed, re-packed with new webbing and re-installed as well as a new blue mohair soft-top fitted. This well-priced and well presented Triumph Stag, with automatic gearbox, will carry you elegantly through the summer.

*Regretfully Withdrawn* Jaguar Mk. II Saloon (2.4 litre)

Lot # 209 (Sale Order: 9 of 139)

*Regretfully Withdrawn* The lineage of the Mk. II can be directly traced back to its predecessor, the 2.4 saloons or Mk. I as it would become known in later years. This sporting saloon, designed to fill the gap in Jaguar's range between the XK sports and voluminous Mk. VII, entered the market in 1956. Power came from the legendary XK straight six, twin cam, engine in 2483cc form. The 2.4 was notable as being a complete break away from the previous designs of (Sir) William Lyons and Co., and was their first foray into the modern world of monocoque construction. Traditional Jaguar buyers would not feel alienated by the new offering from Coventry however, as the interior was up to their usual standards, with leather and walnut being the order of the day. Rather than introduce a completely brand new car, Jaguar successfully re-designed the car from stem to stern, and the Mk. II was born, debuting in 1959. The chunky windscreen pillars of the early car were replaced by slimmer offerings giving a much more airy cabin, which both improved the styling and freshened up the design for the new decade. The car on offer today was built in 1969 and is finished in Cotswold Blue coachwork with a dark blue leather interior which is in great condition for its age. An original 2.4 litre car with automatic transmission, it is offered with a current MoT test certificate and V5C registration document. It is thought to have been restored some 12 years ago by one of its former keepers and has since been used as a reliable classic, the current vendor has enjoyed owning WLO 536G and is reluctantly selling her due to lack of suitable garage space. Sitting proudly on wire wheels, competitively priced example is a fantastic opportunity to own one of these iconic saloons for an affordable price and a sound future investment. ? *Regretfully Withdrawn*

MG TD

Lot # 210 (Sale Order: 10 of 139)

The 1950 MG TD combined the TC's drivetrain, a modified hypoid-geared rear axle, the MG Y-Type chassis, a familiar T-Type style body and independent suspension using coil springs from the MG Y-Type saloon. Also new were rack and pinion steering, smaller 15-inch disc type road wheels, a lefthand drive option and standard equipment bumpers with over-riders. The car was also five inches wider with a track of 50 inches. In 1950, the TD Mk. II was introduced alongside the standard car, featuring a more highly tuned engine with 8.0:1 compression ratio giving 57bhp at 5500rpm. It also featured twin fuel pumps, revised dampers, and a higher rear-axle ratio. Nearly 30,000 MG TD's have been produced, including some 1,700 Mk. II models. When the series ended in 1953, all but 1,656 were exported with 23,488 of them to the United States. An example tested by 'The Motor' magazine in 1952 had a top speed of 77mph and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 18.2 seconds. Exported to the U.S. when new, this MG TD was repatriated to the UK in 1990 and immediately underwent a total restoration. She still presents in good condition, although as always with a 64 year old vehicle, maintenance is an ongoing necessity. The green coachwork is in good order as is the delightful green leather interior. New brakes have just been fitted prior to the vehicle passing an MoT test on 28th April. We are happy to report, she passed with no advisories. Supplied with a comprehensive history file dating back to 1990 and a V5C registration document; sitting proudly on wire wheels and now in righthand drive format, this MG TD is offered with a very tempting estimate.

Mercedes-Benz 280SE Saloon

Lot # 211 (Sale Order: 11 of 139)

The first 'S-class' Mercedes-Benz arrived in 1968 in the form of the 280S and 280SE which were large comfortable sports saloons offering powerful touring capabilities and luxurious interiors with space to seat five occupants. Known as W108/109 models, they were constructed on a 108" wheelbase and the new S-Class saloons were much heavier than earlier models. The styling was updated using a thoroughly modern design featuring the attractive stacked layout of the headlights which was popular during the period. Although the 280 was usually powered by a 2.8 litre, straight six engine, Mercedes-Benz added a V8 engined 280SE to the model range. This Mercedes-Benz 280 is powered by the very robust 2778cc straight-six engine, mated to an automatic gearbox. Originally registered in South Africa, the vendor brought it to the U.K. in February 2015 and is only selling her due to lack of suitable garage space. Our inspection confirmed this 280 to be a sound example with no signs of corrosion and appearing to be in good condition mechanically. It is supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 5th March 2017, together with the original service books. Finished in cream with stunning oxblood leather interior, this a solid, perfectly useable example of an increasingly rare classic Mercedes-Benz 280 saloon.

Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster

Lot # 212 (Sale Order: 12 of 139)

In 1989, Mercedes Benz introduced the fourth generation SL model, the R129, which was supplied in Europe with several engine options and named accordingly. The specification was high with electric windows, mirrors, seats, roof and host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers and front airbags. The R129 model was the first convertible/roadster to offer the automatic roll-bar deployment in event of rollover, although the motorist could also manually raise and lower the roll-bar should he choose to thus facilitating the clean look of the R129 without compromising the occupant's safety. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. A remarkably low mileage 280 R129 SL, this example in beautiful condition, is presented in burgundy with cream leather trim and boasts just three owners from new. This Roadster benefits from the optional hard top and a very high specification despite being the smaller more nimble 280 SL. With an MoT test certificate valid until June 2017 and in such great condition, this genuine low mileage is a future classic that will put a smile on anyone's face when driving with the top down this summer.?

Fiat Barchetta

Lot # 213 (Sale Order: 13 of 139)

Fiat's Barchetta (Italian for 'little boat') was developed between 1990 and 1994 under project name 'Tipo B Spider 176' and culminating in a two door roadster with deft and distinctive styling flare. Powered by the well proven and lively 1.7 litre, four-cylinder, 16v engine, the Barchetta was good for 130bhp and 124mph. Whilst being no slouch, the Barchetta exhaust boasts a pleasing rasp and the driving experience gives the sensation that the car is even faster than it really is. Sold only in lefthand drive, manufacturing ceased by Maggiora in May 2002 and Fiat resurrected the Barchetta with a Phase Two model during 2004 built at its Mirafiori plant in Turin before ending production soon after in June 2005. Presented in near unmarked silver coachwork with black leather, this lovely Barchetta has been cherished throughout its life. Sold by DTR Sports to a Mr. Godfrey in July 1999 and with the original sales invoice in the history file, this example has had just three further owners from new. The history file includes details of service schedules and, importantly, the dates of the major services which can be substantiated by the comprehensively stamped service booklet. Having been garaged for some four years between 2007 and 2011, this little roadster covered around 60,000 miles when it had a new clutch, a reconditioned gearbox followed by a cam belt service and new exhaust. With an MoT test certificate valid until April 2017 and described by the owner as a 9/10 example, this is a fantastic opportunity to own this fun, pretty and collectable roadster.?

Renault Avantime Privilege

Lot # 214 (Sale Order: 14 of 139)

Patrick Le Quement's 2+3 Coupe GT MPV concept was revealed at the Paris Motorshow in 1998. The reaction from the motoring press was unanimously positive prompting Renault to take the very bold step of launching their 'Avantime' (meaning ahead-of-time) into production largely unchanged. This radical flagship not only had handsome good looks but also an abundance of luxuries, safety features and advanced engineering. Highlights included unique double-hinged 'kinematic' pillarless doors allowing easy access to the front and rear seats (even when tightly parked), the world's largest opening glass sunroof at the time featuring strengthened heat-reflecting tinted glass, theatre seating (rear higher than the front), galvanised steel chassis with aluminium upper structure, cavernous 530 litre boot, xenon headlights, and a 'grand air' mode which retracts the 1m² glass sunroof at the same time as the pillarless side windows, all at the press of one switch. 'Sub Zero' status on Top Gear's 'Cool Wall' earned the Avantime some notoriety, especially with the presenters claiming that Renaults Avantime was cooler even than the Aston Martin Vanquish and "the coolest car money can buy" yet just 450 cars ultimately sold in the UK. Our example is a top of the range V6, three litre 'Privilege' automatic (approximately half of all UK cars were built as V6 models). Striking in very rare Nocturne Purple with silver aluminium roof rails contrasted with beige leather upholstery. The history file contains many Renault main dealer receipts and details two cambelt changes. This well very well presented example performs its duties in style and comfort with plenty of power and a satisfying exhaust note. Matching Continental tyres all round on smart 'Rhodes' alloys. There are many previous MoT test certificates in the history file, the most recent was issued without any advisories. Sophisticated and flamboyant, audacious yet practical, the Avantime is a fascinating concept car which made it into very limited production. This elegant top of the range example will deliver fun and stylish motoring for many years to come and a shrewd investment with values only set to rise.

Mercedes-Benz 300-24v SL Roadster

Lot # 215 (Sale Order: 15 of 139)

Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129-series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin included a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows/mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. Presented in metallic blue with contrasting biscuit leather interior, this 300SL is in excellent order throughout. Accompanying this example is an MoT test certificate valid until December 2016, a history file including receipts and old MoT test certificates. Unfortunately the service book has been misplaced however the vendor assures us that the car was fully serviced by main agent's right up to 83,000 miles. The condition throughout certainty leads us to assume this is correct. The accompanying hardtop is in excellent order as is the soft-top for summer motoring and representing superb value for money. This highly usable modern day sports car is already regarded as a design classic and rarely found in such exceptional condition.?

Jaguar XJS Convertible

Lot # 216 (Sale Order: 16 of 139)

The Jaguar XJS Convertible, which first appeared in 1988, was considerably more than just a coupé with the roof removed. The earlier 'T'-top cabriolet paved the way as the first open Jaguar since the demise of the E-Type in 1975 but this was to be the first full convertible and a strengthened sub-frame was employed in order to alleviate scuttle shake. Retaining the roomy cockpit space of the coupé, the new convertible naturally boasted all the expected Jaguar refinements as standard making for a very fine, open grand touring car. The XJS's superlative 5.3 litre engine developed some 295bhp in later fuel injected form and, when allied to automatic transmission, gave authoritative 150mph performance. Today, this model is very much establishing itself as a most worthy latter day classic; good examples being eagerly sought by connoisseurs of the marque. This elegant XJS Convertible, offered in Kingfisher Blue with contrasting Barley leather, has lived a remarkably charmed life having been being continually garaged since its purchase from Jaguar. This benefits from a high specification including electric leather seats and ice cold air conditioning. It is offered with a wealth of history. The woodwork is in fantastic order, as is the paintwork and chrome; the electric windows and roof mechanisms show no signs of faults. With a valid MoT test certificate, this really is a fine example of this desirable and iconic grand tourer which begs to be taken to the south of France with the roof down to see exactly why Jaguar sold these cars so successfully. ?

Alfa Romeo Montreal

Lot # 217 (Sale Order: 17 of 139)

It is important to understand how the Alfa Romeo Montreal came about as its design and power plant are something to behold. Montreal, Canada, the setting for the 1967 World's Fair; the International and Universal Exposition or 'Expo 67' as it was known, Alfa Romeo was asked to provide an exhibit that would be representative of the automotive industry. The result was a fabulous prototype designed by Marcello Gandini of the Bertone styling house and named Montreal in honour of the event. The 105 series chassis and components were used as a basis, designed with ease of future production in mind. When the first production model was revealed in 1970, the styling was virtually identical to the World's Fair prototype but the biggest surprise was the power plant under the bonnet. Alfa Romeo used a detuned Type 33 racing V8 engine of 2,589cc capacity which produced over 200bhpcoupled to a ZF five-speed gearbox and modified 105 series rear axle were incorporated to good effect. This is a very rare righthand drive Montreal, only 180 were manufactured in this format out of a total production run of 3,917. According to the DVLA records, 57 cars are still in the UK although it is known the majority of these are lefthand drive; it is certainly the only righthand drive example we have ever seen. Sadly being sold as part of a deceased estate, this Alfa Romeo was purchased by the registered keeper in 1986. After using the car for a few years, OLX 250P was put into storage and later dismantled in preparation for restoration. Everything was removed from the car, including all of the interior trim, glass, and some of the engine bay, although the engine and gearbox remained in the car, we are advised the engine was strong with good oil pressure and was not thought to have been in need of rebuilding. The bodywork has since been taken care of with any areas showing signs of corrosion removed and re-fabricated. The red paintwork appears to be to a high standard, with a good depth to the paint. All of the ancillaries have been painstakingly boxed up and everything appears to be present. The car is best described as being a rolling restoration project that just needs reassembling. Supplied with a collection of invoices and receipts, a V5 registration document and three previous MoT certificates, the last one expiring in March 1988 together with some technical data documents; this Alfa Romeo Montreal is a superb opportunity to own a 'forgotten supercar', offering power, presence and style in abundance, together with a delightful 'V8 soundtrack'.

*Regretfully Withdrawn* Lancia Appia

Lot # 218 (Sale Order: 18 of 139)

*Regretfully Withdrawn* The Lancia Appia was introduced in 1953 as a replacement for the Ardea which remained in production for ten years. The Appia was the last in a long line of Lancia production cars dating back to the Lancia Lambda (introduced in 1922) to use the famous sliding pillar front suspension. All three series produced had a Lancia V4 engine of 1089cc. In addition to the saloon, a number of special bodied Appias were produced including a coupé by Pininfarina, a convertible and two-door saloon by Vignale and an aluminium-bodied GT by Zagato, as well as light commercial vehicle variants. In all, 107,000 Appia were built: 98,000 saloons, 3,863 commercial vehicles, and 5,161 chassis supplied to coachbuilders. In March 1959, the third series Appia was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show with a new front end inspired by the Lancia Flaminia flagship. Engine power went up again to 48PS, as did top speed, to 132km/h (82mph). The braking system was improved with front drum brakes and a 'Duplex' dual hydraulic circuit during the 1960 model year. In its third iteration, the Appia was finally mature and 55,577 saloons were made, the vast majority in lefthand drive. This charming little Appia is finished in dark blue with a beautiful grey-blue interior, accessed via the pillarless doors which is always a novelty and complements the exterior paintwork perfectly. The car underwent a restoration some years ago and we are informed by the vendor that it is in good condition throughout. Supplied with Italian paperwork and original documents from 1962, this charming pillarless saloon is offered at no reserve and provides all the Italian style and charm of much more exotic machinery. *Regretfully Withdrawn*

Austin A90 Atlantic

Lot # 219 (Sale Order: 19 of 139)

The Atlantic was one of the first post-war cars engineered from scratch by Austin. The car was almost certainly influenced by a 1946 Pininfarina-bodied Alfa Romeo cabriolet which just happened to end up at the Longbridge factory in mid-1947, a few months before the light blue 16hp sports prototype made its first appearance in the experimental department and on nearby roads around the factory. With the then Government edict of "Export or die", and steel allocated only to those who generated much needed dollar revenue, the Atlantic was designed specifically to appeal to North American tastes. The car featured up-to-the-minute detailing with a wrap around windscreen. The front wings sported twin 'Flying A' hood ornaments and swept down to a rounded tail with spats enclosing the rear wheels. A centrally mounted third headlight was built into the letter-box style air intake grille and the then unheard of luxury of hydraulically powered windows along with the option of EKCO or HMV Autocrat radios. As its final party trick, the centre section of the three piece, wrap around, rear window, could be lowered into the boot, for added ventilation by a remote winder above the front windscreen. Few people in the car's native Britain would have ever seen anything like the futuristically-styled Atlantic before and certainly not from a conservative mainstream manufacturer like Austin. However it did not make sense in the USA with only a few hundred sold against the mighty Detroit built home market V8 machines. With only a few thousand produced over two and a half years, they became rare even after the 1960s with a rough estimate of under 60 units surviving today. This superb example was restored from 1999 at a cost approaching £70,000 and is without doubt the best available. This fine example has been in a car collection for the past 14 years and remains in near perfect condition with a stately yet stylish appearance. There are several boxes full of history on the car and all tools, handbooks are also complete. A truly unique and exquisite example of this rare motor car.

Daimler Sovereign Coupé (4.2 litre)

Lot # 220 (Sale Order: 20 of 139)

The launch of the Jaguar XJ6 in 1968 and its Daimler sister that followed in 1969, redefined expectations in the luxury car sector. The new model truly 'moved the goalposts', setting new standards in comfort, refinement and handling. A waiting list was quick to form and enthusiasm remained strong upon the introduction of the Series II cars in 1973. The standard or long wheelbase saloon models were joined later that year by a striking new variant, an elegant pillarless coupé, all being built on the short-wheelbase chassis and with black vinyl-covered roofs. Available with either the 4.2 litre straight-six XK unit or the fabulous 5.3 litre, V12, this handsome design retained the saloon's supple all-round independent coil and wishbone suspension, disc brakes and power steering. Performance was predictably strong with both variants reputedly able to exceed 120mph. Rarer than its Jaguar brother, just 1,677 Daimler Sovereign 4.2 Coupés are thought to have been produced by the time production ended in 1978 with 613 built in 1977 and only six in the final year. This three owner Daimler Sovereign 4.2 Coupé comes with the most desirable options which include leather interior, chrome wheels and tinted glass. Finished in Juniper green, this excellent example has been with the last owner since 1990 and is supplied with a full service history. Recent renovations include fitting a new headlining and checking the car throughout. This 1977 Daimler Sovereign 4.2 Coupé is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in December 2016, old MoT test certificates which go back to 1987, a full handbook pack, invoices and a warranty letter from Jaguar. Daimler cars have always been associated with being luxurious and exclusive because of the Royal connections, and this one is no exception. ?

Ariel Atom

Lot # 221 (Sale Order: 21 of 139)

TheAtom is a road legal high performance sports car made by the Ariel Motor Company based in Somerset and features a prominently visible chassis (an exoskeleton, no roof or windows,) with a drag coefficient of 0.40. The Atom began as a student project by Coventry University transport design student, Niki Smart. It was developed at the university in 1996 with input and funding from various automotive industry members, including British Steel and TWR. Ariel Motor Company boss Simon Saunders was a senior lecturer whose responsibility for the project was primarily as financial manager and design critic for Smart, whom he described as 'The best all-round design student I've ever seen'. The car was first shown publicly at the British International Motor Show in Birmingham in October 1996. This Ariel Atom was originally registered on 8th June 2004 and is powered by a 1998cc 300bhp turbo charged power unit. The gearbox is a six-speed manual transmission, and braking system is via disc brakes all-round with the fronts being ventilated. It's all business inside the cockpit with integrated race seats, a quick release steering wheel and stainless steel gear knob. Straightforward instruments monitor speed and revs, while normal indicator lights and indicators are a reminder that this is a road car too. With no real creature comforts or excess weight, this Atom is quite simply astonishing to drive, with 0-60mph achieved in under three seconds. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a full years MoT test certificate and some history; is it possible to have more fun on four wheels?

Porsche 911 SC Targa

Lot # 222 (Sale Order: 22 of 139)

The iconic 911 can trace its history back some 44 years; its family tree containing such memorable cars as the 911S, the 2.7 Carrera RS and the notorious Turbo. The landmark SC replaced all non-Turbo 911s, first being presented to the general public at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. Featuring 7Jx16 Fuchs rear rims and flared wings, it was offered in either coupé or targa form. Power came from the three litre Carrera engine, detuned to 180bhp and a five-speed 915 transmission. This was still good enough to return a 0-60mph time of 6.4 seconds and would propel the car on to a maximum of 144mph. Do not be fooled by the odometer reading on any Porsche with the 2993cc engine; as with much Porsche engineering, these examples were built to last. Given that this example had the desired engine rebuild, you can safely think of this car as having covered half the distance, especially as the car recently had a full body restoration and re-trim which leaves this example looking as new and is described by the vendor as a 10 out of 10. Presented in gold with black leather and inserts, this car has a comprehensive service history with invoices from new. The original Porsche service book was fully stamped up to 140,000 miles by both Porsche and specialist dealers at which point invoices support the remainder of the service history. The engine rebuild was carried out at 87,960 miles by RSR Motorsport or Surrey at a cost of £2,707 and receipts can be found in the extensive history file. The last service was undertaken by Autostrasse, Essex just 850 miles ago and we are informed the car is kept dry and garaged. The vendor beams when talking about his 911 stressing that the underside is every bit as good as the top and he will be sad to see it go. The MoT test certificate is valid until June 2017 and having been blessed with a new targa roof, this Porsche is a great example of the fast appreciating 1970's and 1980's 911.?

Triumph TR3A

Lot # 223 (Sale Order: 23 of 139)

The Triumph TR3 was built between 1955 and 1957 by Standard-Triumph in the United Kingdom, during which time only 1,286 cars were produced for the home market. According to the TR Register, as of 2002, there remain only 893 registered TR3/3A's on UK roads. Although it was usually supplied as an open two-seater, an occasional rear seat and bolt on steel hard top were available as extras. The car was powered by a 1991cc engine which initially produced 95bhp increasing to 100bhp at 5000rpm. The four-speed manual transmission could be supplemented by an overdrive unit on the top three ratios, electrically operated and controlled by a switch on the dash. In 1956, the front brakes changed from drum to disc, becoming the first British series production car to be so fitted. Because of these disc brakes, the TR3 and subsequent TR3A's became known for their superior braking ability, making it an autocross favourite. In 1957, the TR3 was replaced by an updated version, the TR3A. Updates included new wide front grill, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and came with a full tool kit as standard, although the TR3A's still retained the 1991cc engine. This delightful TR3A has been the subject of substantial investment in recent years and as such, presents in very good order today. The black coachwork is in good order and the contrasting red leather trim unmarked. This Triumph benefits from some significant improvements including the fitment of front disc brakes and a brake servo. In addition to this, the car has had an all synchromesh gearbox fitted and recently a total engine rebuild including modifications to run on unleaded fuel. The engine on this TR3A runs and sounds beautiful, even though she has only done minimal mileage since the rebuild. This is one of the best driving TR3's we have been in and with the modifications she has had this is a very enjoyable classic car to use. Supplied with a V5C registration document, a current MoT test certificate and a history folder, this Triumph is very competitively estimated given the substantial investment.

Range Rover Vogue Classic

Lot # 224 (Sale Order: 24 of 139)

The first generation Range Rover was initially not designed as a luxury 4x4; while certainly up-market compared to preceding Land Rover models, the early Range Rovers had fairly basic, utilitarian interiors with vinyl seats and plastic dashboards designed to be washed down with a hose. Features such as power assisted steering, carpeted floors, air conditioning, cloth/leather seats, and wooden interior trim were fitted later. The Range Rover was a body-on-frame design with a box section ladder type chassis similar to contemporary Land Rovers. It utilised coil springs as opposed to leaf springs, permanent four-wheel drive and four-wheel disc brakes and was originally powered by the Rover V8 engine. This example is presented in good order throughout with a Cairngorm Brown exterior and matching 'Teddy Bear' interior. Owned by the vendor for the last two/three years, some works have taken place during this time and the vehicle has been used regularly. We are also informed (by letter) that, up to 2004, Lakeland Land Rover have performed its full servicing requirements although the history is not present. A further 95,000 mile service took place in 2007 by Brooklyn 4x4. An extremely serviceable example competitively priced. *Guide Price £5,000-£8,000.
