1987 Ferrari 328 Gts 1987 Ferrari 328 Gts

1987 Ferrari 328 Gts

Lot #501 (Sale Order 2 of 53)

The Ferrari 328 first appeared in 1985 as the successor to the 308, featuring a normally aspirated 3.2 V8 engine and very handsome styling. Instantly popular, Ferrari went on to produce 7,400 variants worldwide during the production run which finished late in 1989. Now regarded as a true design classic, this ultimate 270bhp sports car of the day reached 0 - 60 in 5.5 seconds and went on to a top speed of 166mph.This excellent RHD example is showing just 3 owners on the logbook and is finished in the classic colour combination of Rosso / Crema.Having been owned by our vendor since 2006, the car covered a mere 4000miles in his ownership whilst spending the majority of its time stored in a dehumidified heated garage. The car has a superb service history and is presented for sale having undergone a detailed recommissioning by Dave Walton, Ferrari Specialists at a cost of over £2,500. 1997 Renault Spider 1997 Renault Spider

1997 Renault Spider

Lot #503 (Sale Order 4 of 53)

The Renault Sport Spider, or project W94 as it was codenamed, debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1995 and was launched the year after, when the Williams Renault F1 team was enjoying great success with it's Adrian Newey designed cars. Completely understandable, Renault's plan was clearly to capitalise on both this motor sport "moment in the Sunshine" with a multi national One Make Championship, and the sports car boom of the mid 90s, most visible in the number of Lotus Elise Mk.1s pouring out of the factory. Ultimately, although not as successful as they had hoped with only 1685 Sport Spiders being built, they did manage to create a fabulous little driver's car.Powered by the 150bhp,16v four cylinder engine first seen in the Renault Clio Williams, and latterly in the original Megane 16v Coupe, and given it's relatively light weight, the Sport Spider turned out to be a positive "Road Rocket" with 60 mph. coming up in 6.9 seconds on it's way to a maximum of 134mph.Take a seat behind the wheel and you instantly know that this car means business; quite simply it's more race car than road car. A single aluminium bar dominates the dashboard with only three dials set into a central pod. A speedometer was not part of the package and a rev counter, oil and water pressure gauges were all that were deemed necessary. To complete the sports car feel, there are body-hugging Recaro bucket seats, a leather trimmed steering wheel and adjustable pedals to enable the driver to achieve the absolute optimum driving position. The windows meanwhile, pivot up to open, which is arguably practical and certainly distinctive. The Renault Spider championships ran for several years as a support series to larger championships such as British Touring Cars and groomed many fine racing drivers, including the hard charging Jason Plato.Only 60 right hand drive models were manufactured during its short production run of 18 months, and this particular example has covered only 3,290 miles from new as detailed on the MoT certificate dated the 2nd April 2015, making it a rare and interesting proposition.Registered in the UK in 2013 the V5c shows no former keepers, however the car was registered in Ireland in 1997 and the SIMI Vehicle Data Check in the accompanying history file shows 2 keepers. This file also contains some receipts and invoices for servicing work, the original hand book and service book along with copies of the original registration documents.Renault Spiders always prove to be popular when we have offered them in the past, and with its low mileage and sensible guide price this one will not disappoint.

1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2

1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2

Lot #504 (Sale Order 5 of 53)

Porsche revived the Carrera name, previously used for competition versions of the preceding 356 model, for its luxuriously equipped, top of the range 911 in 1973, and then applied the evocative title to all 911 variants with the introduction of the 3.2-litre engine, from the start of 1984. Although it remained an air-cooled 'flat six', the '3.2' motor was 80% new and incorporated an effective cam chain tensioner and associated lubrication system that at last addressed a perennial 911 shortcoming. This enlarged and extensively revised new engine produced 231bhp, 27 up on its predecessor, endowing the Carrera with excellent performance. 0-60 in 5.3, 0-100 in 13.6 seconds and a top speed of 152mph were figures not too far away from the legendary 1974 Turbo. Some 30 years on, Carrera 3.2s are now highly sought after, for very good reason, although finding one is not that easy.Described as being in superb condition throughout, this beautiful black, left hand drive Carrera 3.2 was originally supplied and registered in the United States in June of 1985 (original COA from Porsche is included) and subsequently did very little mileage over the next 3 years being mainly used for display purposes in a showroom. The car was then exported to Japan in 1988 and, unlike many Japanese market cars where the service history runs dry, we are informed by the vendor that the service book contains stamps from ‘Mizwa Porsche' of Japan giving the following information: 09/11/1988 - 21602km, 30/03/1992 - 29225km, 25/07/1996 - 40468km, 17/04/2001 - 49906km, 05/10/2004 - 60371km, 14/05/2010 - 69822km.B155 FPU was subsequently repatriated to the UK where it received an oil service by its current owner at 79,538kms and was then registered with a V5C on the 1st October 2014. The paintwork is in very good condition, all the panel gaps are reassuringly straight and the beautiful, well spec'd, Olive green leather interior also has the rare and desirable three-point rear seat belts, perfect for junior passengers. The original four-spoke steering wheel is also present and correct.Sold with an odometer reading of just under 80,000 kms, which the vendor believes to be correct, and a fresh MOT, it's a superb example and a true testament to Porsche's reputation for building quality performance cars.

2004 Bmw Alpina Roadster S Lux 2004 Bmw Alpina Roadster S Lux

2004 Bmw Alpina Roadster S Lux

Lot #505 (Sale Order 6 of 53)

This is Alpina's 50th anniversary year. The company was founded in 1965 specialising in carburettors and revised cylinder heads with BMWs their main focus. It was not long before successes came in motorsport, winning the European Touring Car Championship in 1970 and the Spa 24hrs, necessitating a move to a new facility in Buchloe. Alpina worked very closely with BMW and eventually the upgrades became integrated into BMW's production lines. As such, Alpina is recognised as an automobile manufacturer by the German Ministry of Transport. In 1967, with the inception of its ever enduring trademark logo, the brand had truly arrived. Offered here is a stunning 2004 BMW Alpina Roadster S Lux finished in the rare colour combination of Alpina Blue and a black leather interior featuring Alpina inserts. It has a full BMW service record, except for one specialist stamp, and only 28,600 miles has been covered by five owners. It has led a cherished life which includes £926 recently spent at Rybrook BMW on front discs and pads.No faults were found during a Vehicle Health Check at Rybrook this Spring, and at the same time they also carried out the latest service with the odometer indicating 28,446 miles. It has all the original equipment and documentation in an Alpina leather wallet and comes with a full MoT. The vehicle was initially specified with the Lux Pack which consisted off : Park assist, wind deflector, Xenon headlights, Satellite navigation, phone prep, a 6 CD changer, headlamp wash, Alpina interior treatment to the dash and doortrims, and Alpina 19inch wheels. The Roadster S is the last Alpina with a hand-built engine assembled by its technicians at Buchloe using a wide range of Alpina-specific components including the entire induction system. Having been developed for the B3 and then the B3S, the straight six is a remarkable piece of engineering in its final iteration, with 300bhp and a wonderful bespoke feel. The car sounds wonderful, has a tactile six speed manual gearbox and has been thoroughly engineered by Alpina, who even tuned the seats to match the suspension, giving it a surprisingly comfortable ride alongside impressive dynamics. A parade lap of Silverstone is scheduled to celebrate Alpina's 50th anniversary over the Classic weekend. This is a beautifully assembled Alpina Roadster, and represents the pinnacle of Alpina engineering with great value at today's guide.

1967 Mercedes 250sl Pagoda 1967 Mercedes 250sl Pagoda

1967 Mercedes 250sl Pagoda

Lot #506 (Sale Order 7 of 53)

Launched in 1963 to replace the underpowered 190SL and utilising some of the new manufacturing techniques being adopted in the emerging S Class, the Paul Bracq designed 230SL was proudly unveiled to an appreciative audience at the Geneva Motor Show. Remaining in production until 1971 with around 49,000 finding customers, the W113 Class, frequently referred to as the Pagoda, eventually spanned three engine sizes. The same show in 1967 coincidentally, saw the introduction of the W113-250SL. The new car retained the stiffer suspension and sporty feel of the earlier cars, but provided improved agility with its larger(2.5Ltr.) engine and was now fitted with rear disc brakes and a larger tank. They were offered with 4 speed Automatic transmission or a 4 or ZF 5 speed gearbox. Production ended in January 1968 and its one year production run makes the 250SL the rarest of the W113 series. This 250SL is a left-hand drive, European spec car and is fitted with the relatively rare manual gearbox. Its UK history starts with its purchase by a lady owner in November 2013 although there is some information about awards won in America in an earlier life. Our new lady owner took the decision to return her somewhat "down at heel" little Pagoda to rude health and set about a programme of restoration, overhaul and improvement. All the body and coachwork was carried out by Gratt Motors in Manchester and the mechanical side of the project was entrusted to Roger Edwards of Amersham. This work took place over two years and there is great pile of invoices to substantiate her expenditure which includes the following; New 3-piece Clutch, new track rods, replaced brake calipers and rear pads, replacement brake servo, overhauled master cylinder, new gear linkage, new distributor and alternator, new battery, new steering bushes, overhauled fuel injection pump, refurbished heater matrix, new condenser, points, plugs, fuel filter and resistor. The engine was fully serviced, tappets adjusted, compressions tested, and all linkages overhauled or replaced and the tank overhauled and the fuel system flushed through. At Gratt Motors the car was fitted with new sills, rear lower wings, a new boot floor and painted a sparkling Mercedes White. New seat belts were fitted as were new Charcoal Grey carpets, 2 new door mirrors and a new Navy Blue soft top.The car now looks fabulous in white with dark blue trim, dark blue Hard and Soft tops and pencil whitewall tyres. The Vehicle is Taxed and has a current MoT, but is missing a couple of separate door lock keys.250SL Pagodas are the rarest by far, but they are wonderful to drive and this little SL is all set for the Summer.

1973 Porsche 911 2.7 Rs Replica 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 Rs Replica

1973 Porsche 911 2.7 Rs Replica

Lot #507 (Sale Order 8 of 53)

The 1973 Porsche 911 is considered by all knowledgeable Porsche enthusiasts to be the single best 911 of all time. This is high praise when you consider the large number of 911 models that have been built over the 50+ years since the model's introduction. The Carrera RS (Renn Sport) is still to this day the benchmark 911, the beautiful lines only being matched by the sheer delight of driving it, with its positive steering, exhilarating sound and linear performance. Built before the American "ugly bumper" era and the oil/fuel crisis, the RS had a purity of purpose that was not compromised by outside factors. For this reason, the Porsche RS Replica market has grown enormously and demand is far outstripping the supply of quality machines. This original 1973 ‘F' series 911E Coupe, was built in March 1973 at Zuffenhausen in right-hand drive for Isaac Agnew, the Porsche dealer for Northern Ireland and was registered there in April 1973. Offered here today, chassis number 9113200938 is now fitted with an original Carrera RS engine from 1974.'834 MAE' has now covered 115,432 miles, as verified by a file of old MOTs, and has been owned since 1985, at which point it had covered 79,951 miles, by a long established and respected Porsche Specialist. During their ownership, it competed very successfully without damage in the Giroflex Porsche Championship for road-going Porsche 911s in 1985 & 1986 and was then subsequently used for sprint and hill climb events all over the country. Restored from the ground up in 1998 by the marque specialists, this RS is still in fantastic condition with a gentle patina and in its current form, weighing in at under 1000KG, remains very very fast!! Finished in Grand Prix White with blue Carrera side scripts, this RS remains faithful to the original and retains lightweight panels, a ducktail engine lid, RS front & rear bumpers, black lightweight RS interior -without soundproofing, M471 (RS) door panels, manual window winders, a 'Durant' door mirror, 935 ‘lollipop' seats with Willans harnesses, a Moto-lita steering wheel, period half roll cage and the correct fire extinguisher. Powered by an original Carrera RS engine from 1974 - engine number 6641448, type number 911/83 - with its original Carrera Bosch mechanical fuel injection. The engine was completely uprated during the restoration and being a '7R' crankcase was fitted with new 2.8 litre high compression Mahle pistons and barrels, giving 240BHP. The original 1973, 915, 5 speed gearbox is used with a cable operated lightweight clutch and flywheel and the alloy wheels are correct period original Porsche Fuchs 7" and 8". Suspension is all original with Porsche/Bilstein shock absorbers front and rear, ‘Turbo' torsion bars are fitted and the brakes are original Porsche/ATE 'A' & 'M' callipers respectively. Finally, to complete the specification there is an 85 litre long range fuel tank fitted with a space saver wheel, the original tool kit and original tyre compressor. An original 1973 Carrera RS is out of reach for anyone but those with the deepest of pockets, but this car has so many of the dynamic properties of the 1973 icon, and is presented in excellent condition throughout. 834 MAE is offered with a fresh MoT certificate, Swansea V5, freshly serviced along with a brake fluid change and a new battery, and this incredible motor car is now ready for its next lucky owner to cherish and enjoy in equal measures.

1968 Mercedes-benz 280sl Pagoda

Lot #508 (Sale Order 9 of 53)

There is no doubt that the Mercedes-Benz 280SL "Pagoda" is a handsome car, especially when finished in a delightful colour combination like this with Ivory coachwork, a contrasting Blue Hard Top and a lovely Blue interior. The instruments and dials throughout the cabin all appear in first class order, as are the brand new carpets, seatbelts and belt clasps. The engine bay is authentic and clearly well preserved, but not unnecessarily restored. Working parts carry a reassuring tinge of grease and there's little sign of the car having been detailed in a bid to deceive. It works as it should and looks as it should; the perfect recipe. No fewer than 18 stamps adorn the service book traceing this car's history from 1968 and suggesting, a believed genuine, total mileage of fewer than 55,000. 10/10/1968, Delivery Check12/03/1969, 2,14815/01/1970, 6,38311/05/1970, 9,74215/09/1970, 12,95829/12/1970, 15,83305/03/1971, 17,24305/10/1971, 22,11212/09/1972, 24,41303/12/1973, 27,12623/03/1983, 38,83008/04/1992, 44,26804/05/1993, 44,46816/09/1994, 45,16718/06/2003, 51,29726/10/2005, 51,73621/08/2009, 53,39716/05/2015, 54,911This little 280SL presents exceptionally well, perhaps better than many restored cars we see. The boot floor is the best this scribe has seen, which for an unrestored car speaks volumes about the care and dedication that this one has enjoyed. The original wings have, apparently had some paint in the last few years, but this has been done so well that I confess it needed to be pointed out to me. The colour combination is timeless and stylish, and the overall feeling from the car is one of  deep honesty and charm. The soft-top roof is nearly new and fits snugly, the hard-top, though unrestored is in very good order too. Furthermore, this Pagoda is shod with four new Vredestein Classic Tyres, as is the boot mounted spare. We're pleased that this car is accompanied by a full complement of tools, handbooks, the service book, a Motorola owner's manual to operate the dash-mounted radio, and other sundry invoices. Not to be mistaken with the ordinary, this is a fine car with a new MOT to May 2016.

1991 Porsche 964 Rs 1991 Porsche 964 Rs

1991 Porsche 964 Rs

Lot #509 (Sale Order 10 of 53)

Introduced in 1992 the Porsche 964RS came in three variations. They were produced in the standard RS model with two other options, the MOO2 (Touring) and the MOO3 (N/GT, also known as the clubsport). The N/GT's were the lightest models and had a welded in Matter rollcage and it was essentially a race ready car for track or road. The stripped out interior was painted body colour and the seats were the narrower Recaro type with full harnesses. Standard equipment included a fire extinguisher and electrical cut-out. It still remains one of the most accomplished club racers ever factory produced.Offered here is the first production 964RS N/GT carrying the chassis number ending in 9011. It was not sold through the usual dealer network but was allegedly given to Ulrich Richter, a dedicated Porsche only race driver who had endeared himself to the brand with successes in the eighties. The gift was to entice Richter back into GT racing which worked with substantial success as results including third at the Daytona 24HRS in 1994 driving a 911RSR. The Maritime Blue RS was customised for him for use at his favourite circuit, the Nurburgring. He sold the car in 1993.The Porsche RS came from Germany to the UK and was registered on 1-11-1995 having covered 30,000kms.In 2005 the engine was fully rebuilt by specialist Ninemeister to include top and bottom ends with bearings, camshaft chains, valves, carriers, uprated springs and retainers, followers, guides, pistons, rings and all new bolts. The engine was dyno'd and produced 305bhp at 6150 rpm. In 2006 the suspension and brakes were replaced which included discs, pads, sensors, springs and shock absorbers. All the wheel bearings were replaced at the same time. Subsequent work has included a clutch replacement, heater, starter motor and distributers. It was decided in 2008 to refresh the paintwork with a full glass out repaint at a cost of £16,383 which was entrusted to Ninemeister. A new central rear light decal comes ready for fitment if required. The V5 shows five owners since arriving in 1995. The comprehensive history contains all the service details, the Porsche Letter of Authenticity and all the MOT's from 1995 through to 2015. ( MOT for 2006 not present as it may have been SORN). It comes with its RS Owners manual. With RS's values showing little sign of abating this interesting Porsche represents a great investment. It comes with a full MOT ready to be enjoyed.

1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Mfi Targa 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Mfi Targa

1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Mfi Targa

Lot #510 (Sale Order 11 of 53)

The Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI model was built for all markets, except for the United States and used the 210hp engine from the 1973 Carrera RS making them mechanically identical. Introduced in 1974 on the new G-Series chassis the floor pans were strengthened, lighting was improved and larger bumpers incorporated. With the proven 210bhp, 2,687cc air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine on Bosch mechanical fuel injection, 0-60mph was achieved in just over 5 seconds and the car was geared for 150mph through its 5-speed manual transmission. The suspension was fully independent with torsion bars, McPherson struts and anti-roll bars. The total weight was just over 1,075 kilograms, which made the Euro-spec 2.7 MFI a very fast car in its day. In fact, it was the fastest production 911 until the late 1980s. This Carrera is one of, we believe, just five manufactured Targa MFi's and is complete with ducktail spoiler in right-hand drive making it an exceptionally rare treat. #4610253 was delivered by A.F.N Middlesex in July 1974 to Mr Newey of Stratford-upon-Avon. It was sold in 1993/1994 to Mr Perkins of Hampshire, and then again to our vendor in 2002 whereupon he took it to his home on the Isle of Man, registered it there in May of that year and that's where it has remained ever since. Contained in the extensive history file is the original sales invoice from A.F.N confirming this car to be a UK specification Targa in Grand Prix White with Midnight interior, and to be optioned with a Limited Slip Differential. It was assigned the registration mark ‘WME 94M' which records indicate has not been re-assigned, and which one may reasonably assume could be married back to this car should it remain in the UK after auction. When purchased by our vendor the car was registering a genuine 59,000 miles. Even today, it still displays a mileage in the low 60,000's. There is an MOT showing 14,500 miles in 1978, before picking up annually in 1983 at 33,538 through to 59,303 miles in 2000. Still sporting its original factory GP White and Midnight interior colour scheme, this car presents in all round good original order with no rust or corrosion evident. Its been largely home maintained in current ownership with regular fluid changes and often run to temperature, but as the mileage indicates, it has been little used on the road. The carpets have faded a little over time, but they're not tatty. The cloth seats are showing signs of their fourty years, but again, are not scruffy, ripped or torn. This really is just a genuine, matching numbers and charming car with no lurking nightmares.Silverstone Auctions were recently pleased to sell another 2.7 MFi Porsche, in garage-found condition and 55,000 miles from new, for a sum close to £150,000. Surely this Targa, when measured against that car, and against its slightly bigger brother, the 2.7 RS (at c£450,000+) is worthy of similar merit when you consider its rarity and its place in the story of Porsche...

Included amongst the history is of course the original book pack and Ferrari wallet as you would expect, as well as the VIP as mentioned and original bill of sale at a sum close to €200,000.The full specification of this car is too long to list, but highlights include twin-spoke five arm alloys shod with Michelin Pilot tyres, red brake callipers, Scuderia shields, electrically-operated Daytona style seats, complete set of embossed Ferrari luggage (for the refreshingly spacious boot space!), Fuchs big-bore stainless steel sports exhaust which was optioned from new, correct Ferrari over mats, front and rear parking sensors, Rosso diffuser and bespoke Ferrari car cover including seat and steering wheel covers too.It really is impossible to fault this car. It's everything you'd want in a Ferrari. The Berlinetta provides a much more user-friendly, and dare we say, ‘less-ostentatious' ownership experience, whilst the F1 paddle box provides a docile and effortless drive in traffic or around town, and purposeful Grand Tourer legs for those European blasts...

1978 Austin Mini Clubman Wood And Pickett Automatic 1978 Austin Mini Clubman Wood And Pickett Automatic

1978 Austin Mini Clubman Wood And Pickett Automatic

Lot #512 (Sale Order 13 of 53)

The founders of Wood & Pickett, Bill Wood and Les Pickett learned the Coachbuilding trade at London's foremost Coachbuilder of the 40s & 50s, Hooper & Co.but, in 1947, they decided to leave and start their own business, and it's reputed that, in the early days, the business was run from Bill Wood's front room.Over the next few years, Wood & Pickett's business began to grow and they eventually acquired premises in Abbey Road, Park Royal, deep in the heart of what was, at that time, London's coachbuilding industry. The company made what could be called "steady progress" until in the 1960s they decided to specialise in highly luxurious Mini conversions. The company became "Wood & Pickett Ltd." and did excellent business building their own versions of these Super Luxury Minis, made fashionable by the likes of Peter Sellers, George Best, Twiggy & Princess Margaret. These early conversions were done by Hoopers or Harold Radford, but soon W&P were competing for this highly lucrative market.Offered here, is a one owner from new, Wood and Pickett Mini, chassis no.XL2W2524450A, that has covered only 29,068 miles and been garaged all of its life. It has a most comprehensive history file which covers the unique story of this very rare Mini which, it's thought, is the only conversion of the estate version carried out by Wood and Pickett. Finished in Rolls Royce Metallic Caribbean Blue with a blue leather and velour interior, it's an incredible original example. It has the signature ‘Margrave' Elite dashboard in padded navy blue hide with black suede, and Navy blue leather door cards and thick blue carpets complete the luxurious feel. The headlining and sun visors are in grey cloth. The full specification includes:Lockable wheel nuts with 5"x10" tech Del Mini-lite wheels. Electric windows to front doors. Electrically adjustable door mirrors. Leather trimmed Wood & Pickett 14" steering wheel in dark blue leather. Dipping rear view mirror with direction indicator turning lights. Twin Automatic Reversing Lights mounted under the rear bumper. Direction indicator lights to front wings. Twin headlights. Air horn with changeover switch. Navy Blue Leather rear compartment roll-over cover. Deluxe soundproofing of the interior. FM Radio cassette. High output alternator installed. Chrome Front Bumper bars with WP logo. Bonnet Lock. Extra Private Lock doors to front doors. A Stainless Steel finish to the top of the doors (pair). This is a unique opportunity to own an important part of the Mini story with a complete history. The Mini was bought on the 17th August 1978 from Cleveland Garages, the Austin garage in Jersey and despatched to Wood & Pickett in the UK for conversion. It then came back then to the island and was first registered on the 13 December 1978. The Mini has remained with the original owner ever since. The history file contains all the correspondence between the owner and Mr. Wood detailing the required specification even down to the upholstery colour swatch. All books and service records are present as is a set of spare keys. All taxes are paid and there is a NOVA application number.

1972 Porsche 911 2.4s Coupe 1972 Porsche 911 2.4s Coupe

1972 Porsche 911 2.4s Coupe

Lot #513 (Sale Order 14 of 53)

1972 marked the arrival of the 2.4 litre Porsche 911S, the technical advances in developing this vehicle forming the engineering foundation for the landmark Carrera RS of the following model year• The McPherson strut and trailing arm geometry which remained unchanged right up to the 964 model of the 1990s• The first aerodynamic aid with the lip on the front bumper spoiler• The totally new 915 transmission carried through up to the G50 transmission of 1987• The long stroke engine bottom end, that ran through to the 3.2 Carrera of 1984• The low compression engines that are still happy on to-day's low octane unleaded fuel• The optimally located oil tank ahead of the rear wheel, pioneered in the 911R of 1968 and reverted to in the ‘90's cars, market forces meant this was sadly abandoned for the RS and 1973 models. The advances made in the 1972 models are where the 911 technical evolution settled into a more modern pattern, whilst for the 1972-73 model years retained the more classic style of the old.Add to this the improved stability and the enlarged 2.4-litre flat-6 engine, and it is easy to see how these changes and detail improvements all served to produce a car which rewards the driver with a gutsy, tenacious driving experience. The car offered here is an original LHD example with its matching numbers engine, confirmed by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. First registered in March 1972, this 2.4 911S Coupe is presented in its original Light Ivory with a black interior. The car was initially built for the Italian market, moved to France in '73 and spent most of its life in West Paris, before being imported to the UK by Autofarm in 1997 at only 69,000 mls.In excellent order inside, outside and underneath, and on its period alloys this specimen drives as a 911S should. After an engine rebuild in 2001, only some 16,000 miles ago, a rolling road test in 2006 still produced an impressive 196 bhp., and the car has clocked just 5,000 miles since a gearbox overhaul by Autofarm in 2012. The period correct Blue Spot radio sits happily where it could have done for the last 43 years, and the interior has benefited from a complete re-trim in the correct original black materials by Southbound, including the period correct Recaro sports seats.Recent owners have been diligent in the car's cosmetic upkeep, the car coming with a quality fitted indoor cover. Even the smallest blemishes received their full attention, the current owner having been a very recent Director of the Porsche Club GB. The fitting of a stainless steel exhaust, pressure-fed tensioners, and a full set of Bilsteins further cement the level of care and maintenance lavished on this little Porsche, mainly by respected marque specialists Autofarm, who have been charged with looking after its health for the last eighteen years. An extensive history file, dating back to the 1970s comes with the car. It's now in excellent order and would make a superb addition to any car enthusiasts' garage.

1972 Ferrari Dino 246 Gt 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 Gt

1972 Ferrari Dino 246 Gt

Lot #514 (Sale Order 15 of 53)

An official letter dated March 18th, 2015 from the Maranello Archive confirms that this left-hand drive 246 GT Dino was manufactured in April 1972 and delivered new to Ferrari’s authorised dealer, Luigi Chinetti in New York and on to its first owner in Ohio. The car’s factory specification included air conditioning, electric windows and Cromodora wheels. Alhough not officially designated as such, there were three distinct series in the production of the 246 Dino and Chassis 03846 is an example from the last,  known as the ‘E’ series. The official Dino Register traces this Dino’s history almost from new, showing early ownership in Texas by a Dr Ahlschier, then, in 1988 via Ed Niles (a well-known Ferrari expert in the USA) to Mr Leslie Ward in England, whose ownership lasted for the next twenty seven years. After importation to England in 1988 the car was unregistered during its restoration, finally being recorded with the DVLA in 1994 with MoT Certificates confirming that the car has travelled only 7,910 miles during the last twenty one years. Although little used during this period, a number of invoices in the history file confirm that the car has always been serviced and fully maintained. Most importantly, and very unusually for a Ferrari Dino, the car is described by the vendor as remarkably rust-free due, no doubt, to its long sojourn in the dry State of Texas, followed by careful storage and very little use since its arrival in England. In 1989, the engine was fully rebuilt by BGM Motor Engineers of Derby and in 2003, FAB Racing in Earl Shilton completely rebuilt the gearbox and synchromesh and a new clutch was fitted. In May 2015, the car was fully serviced by the experienced ex Graypaul Ferrari mechanics at McGurk Performance Cars. The car is exceptionally complete with its original sales invoice, very rare factory warranty card (showing the ‘service stamps’), owner's handbook, service manual, document wallet folder, tool kit, jack and bag. It has its UK V5 registration certificate, current MoT in March 2015 with no advisories, a large history file with original receipts and invoices and, in April, the car underwent  full ‘Swissvax Approved’ detailing. We welcome and encourage all pre-sale inspections and potential buyers should contact the office for further details. This 'E' Series Dino represents an exciting find for any collector and offers superb value given current market conditions.Photo Credit: Tim Scott, Fluid Imageswww.fluidimages.co.uk

Lot #515 (Sale Order 16 of 53)

The Jensen Interceptor was a sporting GT-class car, hand-built in the UK by Jensen Motors between 1966 and 1976. The car broke with a Jensen tradition by having a steel body shell instead of a glass-reinforced plastic one and by having the body designed by an outside firm, Carrozzeria Touring of Italy, the firm more recognisably associated with the likes of Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Maserati and Alfa Romeo. The engine was a Chrysler V8, initially of 6276cc, with optional manual transmission, but the more common choice was the TorqueFlite automatic transmission and drive was via the rear wheels through a limited slip differential and a conventional Salisbury rear axle. The engine grew to 7212cc in late 1971 and it acquired 4-barrel carburation. The original specification included electric windows, reclining front seats, a wood rimmed steering wheel, a radio with twin speakers, reversing lights and an electric clock. Power steering was included as standard from September 1968. The Mark II Interceptor was announced in October 1969 with revised frontal styling and ventilated disc brakes, and shortly afterwards, in 1971, came the Mark III. It had revised seats, fully cast alloy wheels plus some other improvements. Latterly, a convertible with a powered soft top was introduced in 1974, and this was mainly intended for the American market but also sold in Europe. Just 267 convertibles were made, and here is one of the best!..Built in 1976, but registered in 1977 this striking left hand drive Mk.IV Jensen Convertible was delivered to its first and only owner, Mr Sydney Ford of California, USA where it remained throughout its 50,000 miles until the passing of its owner, and repatriation to the UK. Still retaining its matching V8 powerplant and offered in factory build sheet colours of Royal Blue paintwork, blue interior and blue hood - the inside of which being a mushroom colour for lightness as per factory original - the car has recently been repainted to result in a deep lustre, making the entire package irresistible.Turning the key fires the enormous V8 engine to life at the first time of asking. Everything behaves as you would expect and according to our vendor, the engine performs faultlessly in unison with the automatic gearbox which helps to propel the car easily through country roads and modern traffic. The electric hood has had recent work costing over £1600 in 2014 and now operates perfectly. The car was also fully serviced during 2014.Offered for sale in first-rate order and for only the second time in its existence, it is presented with UK taxes paid and NOVA notified making registration in any EU country a breeze. The car comes to the sale with a fresh MOT.

1979 Porsche 911 Martini Turbo 330 1979 Porsche 911 Martini Turbo 330

1979 Porsche 911 Martini Turbo 330

Lot #516 (Sale Order 17 of 53)

Remember the television adverts? ‘It's the right one, the bright one, it's Martini.' Well, that was the tagline for the now iconic drinks company that has sponsored motorsport since 1968, and supported Porsche's 917 racing team in the early 1970's. In the mid-1970's Porsche introduced the 911 Turbo. It was as much about looks as it was performance and its menacing wide body and massive rear spoiler made it essential poster material for schoolboys the world over.As Philip Raby recalls in a 2004 911 & Porsche World article on the Martini Turbo, the driving experience is to be savoured too. "911 Turbos are not about being civilised. As soon as it's clear, I floor the throttle and wait, and wait, and wait. You need a calendar to measure the turbo lag in this car, [but] once the single KKK turbocharger finally kicks in the car flies urgently forward, propelled by the full might of the 300bhp engine behind my back'.Delivered new in March 1979 by Gordon Ramsay Ltd of Newcastle upon Tyne, this 911 Turbo is presented in very good order throughout and encompasses everything Porsche intended back in 1976 when the Turbo was introduced. It's spooky how much a near 40 year old car can still give the impression it's moving quickly even when stood still. It must be those stripes...?The service record for this car includes 11 stamps, most recently in July 2013 at Purely-9, independent Porsche specialists of Surrey for a standard service. Included in the history file are a number of past tax discs, and a full complement of MOT records from 1986 to date with only a period of four years between 1998 and 2002 missing when presumably the car was off the road. The most recent ownership history identifies three owners, one from 2006 to 2011, the next to 2014, and our vendor from then, though in current ownership the car has largely remained on a SORN amongst his collection and though regularly warmed to temperature, little exercised. That said, the car is kept in tip-top condition and sailed through its recent MOT with no advisories. This Martini Turbo now shows a genuine 74,500 miles from new, and on a recent road test behaved impeccably. Yes, it's true that the braking capability of a car manufactured in 1979 could be bettered, but this only serves to keep you honest and road-legal. The engine shows signs of tweaking with performance improvement, particularly in light of the visible stainless steel enlarged dual tail pipes.  The seats could benefit from a leather feed, but they're not ripped, tatty or torn. The glove box has had to be recovered because a previous owner applied a plaque to it and in some lights the replacement covering can be noticed. In six months' time, with patination, this may level out, but these are minor points anyway. The important thing is that the overall condition, feel and experience of the car is incredible and we rate these Turbo 3.3s very highly indeed. If Porsche had produced an actual limited-edition 911 Turbo with Martini Livery, there'd be a record of the number made, but because the Martini stripes were only an option (M42, for those in the know) then no one truly knows exactly how many cars were factory equipped with them. Research suggests that around 24 right hand drive Turbos were produced in 1979 and the car here today is believed to be one of them.

1911 Indian Tt Roadracing 1911 Indian Tt Roadracing

1911 Indian Tt Roadracing

Lot #517 (Sale Order 18 of 53)

The Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company of America was founded in in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1901 by Oscar Hedstrom and George Hendee, preceding Harley Davidson by 2 years. Their factory became affectionately known as the "Wigwam".Between 1902 and 1908 they set many famous records including a World speed record for a motorcycle, in 1905 the first American "V" configuration engine, record breaking Trans-America by a motorcycle, and (as if to rub it in) the English 1000 mile reliability trial. Many great American racers such as Erwin "Cannonball" Baker, Charles " Fearless " Balke and Jake DeRosier made their name riding Indians. By 1910, they were the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. In 1911, Indian decided to enter three motorcycles in the Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man. With chain drive, great reliability and a two speed gearbox, the sleeved down 1000c bikes ridden by Godfrey, Franklin and Moorehouse, finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall. The motorcycle you see today represents a unique opportunity to purchase a very rare Indian that has been sympathetically and meticulously restored to a very high standard, including the rather quaint leather race knee pads.Correspondence tells us that it was originally owned by J.O. "Jack" Cunliffe, a well known sand racer and regular competitor on bikes and cars at Southport Sands.( More info in the history file). The current owner completed the restoration with a view to riding a commemorative lap at the 2011 Isle of Man TT. Circumstances, however, dictated a change of plan.A chance to own and enjoy a wonderful motorcycle with lots of history.

1926 Sunbeam Sport Special 1926 Sunbeam Sport Special

1926 Sunbeam Sport Special

Lot #518 (Sale Order 19 of 53)

John Marston started his first company in 1905, specialising in Japanning, and this craft became associated with all their later bicycles and motorcycles. He started naming the bicycles "Sunbeam" at the behest of his wife and the factory was also renamed Sunbeam Land. Early experiments with engines proved difficult and it was 1912 before they released their first machine, a 2.75 HP, designed by a member of the AJS motorcycle family - Harold Stevens.By 1914 this technically innovative company was winning the IOM TT with their 500cc side valve engines. These engines powered Sunbeams to many records from Road Racing to Speed Trials, Hill Climbs, and of course Brooklands, recording many world records for a side valve single cylinder machine. Enter George Dance, excellent engineer and race competitor. He was to develop their first OHV engine and so successful was it, that George went on to produce for 1925 a " Dance Special Sprint Version" or Model 10 although no authentic Dance machine is known to exist. Discontinued during 1926, when the public road events for which it was designed were outlawed, the Production 'Sprint' was made in tiny numbers and authentic survivors are very rare. Many privateers were forced to build their own Sprint specials. Pre-war Sunbeams have an illustrious history and represent the best in what was British designed and built, scoring victory after victory in a wide range of events. The model in today's auction was part of the collection of the late Rick Webb and among his favourite machines. There are no surviving pre-war records for Sunbeams, however, we are confident this machine started life as a 1925/1926 Model 9. At some point, the frame was modified very professionally to a Model 10 Sprint. The Druid forks were the latest type incorporating suspension and damping and are from a similar period. The small sprint tank incorporates both petrol and a separate compartment for oil. All other cycle parts were common to both road and sprint machines. One of the most interesting parts which may give a clue to its intriguing history, is that it has a Sprint-only works rear wheel. All road going Sunbeams had the brake hub on the off side apart from the works "sprint " machines that were on the near side. The machine has not run for a couple of years and so a careful recommissioning will be required.Beautifully finished in black with Gold leaf pin-striping and a nice historic patina.

1999 Bmw R1200c 1999 Bmw R1200c

1999 Bmw R1200c

Lot #519 (Sale Order 20 of 53)

Designed by BMW Head of Design, David Robb, the R1200C was BMW's attempt to tap into the Harley Davidson cruiser style market, and was a significant departure from their previous endeavours. An advance promotional placement of the R1200C in the James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Dies", ahead of the first deliveries to dealers was a real coup for the company's Marketing Department and ensured a global audience. The BMW R1200C is a Harley-Davidson rival with German engineering. Like most cruisers, it sells on looks. The power characteristics of the R1200 are typical of large capacity twin cylinder cruisers where low down torque is more desirable than outright speed. Dynamically it's better than many of its rivals thanks to quality engineering and light(ish) weight. With its low centre of gravity, lengthened wheelbase (1,650mm) and modern suspension, BMW's radical cruiser has pushed road-holding standards, arguably, even higher. Exhibited in many Museums around the World (Guggenheim included) effectively as a Work of Art and the winner in several countries of Motorcycle of the Year and Cruiser of the Year, these motorcycles are approaching cult status. Displayed in a showroom for virtually all its life, and with only 311 miles logged the motorcycle on offer today is, as might be expected, in excellent condition and has been very realistically priced compared to the cost of a current brand new cruiser.A great bike to ride now or as a long term collectable machine.

1971 Mercedes-benz 280se 3.5 Cabriolet 1971 Mercedes-benz 280se 3.5 Cabriolet

1971 Mercedes-benz 280se 3.5 Cabriolet

Lot #520 (Sale Order 21 of 53)

In the early 1970s, Mercedes-Benz built what many people believe were the finest automobiles in the world. For the buyers who wanted wind in their hair there was no finer choice than the 3.5 litre V8 engined, 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet which was the fastest, most sumptuous and most expensive convertible that money could buy at a Mercedes-Benz dealership. This was the first Mercedes-Benz to feature a V8 engine, and it didn't disappoint! These ultra-luxurious models came equipped with air-conditioning, power steering, automatic transmission, electric windows and radios as standard fitment. It was a car that appealed then for the above reasons and now because it is the epitome of 70,s style. This model should not be confused with the other similar looking Mercedes-Benz Coupes or Cabriolets that were available in vast numbers since 1963, (220, 250, 300 or even 280SE V6), as this was Mercedes' first V8 and to accommodate this superb engine the grill had to be designed lower and wider.Offered here is a left-hand drive example presented in dark blue with a beige leather interior and hood that originally started life as a 280SE 3.5 Coupe delivered new in Germany. Our vendor believes that it was converted in the 1980s by a company in Frankfurt, although there are no bills in the history file for such work. Documents in the file lead us to believe that the car has resided in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands during its lifetime, before being brought to the UK by our vendor most recently. Import duties have been paid, and hence a NOVA reference number granted. Please be aware that the new purchaser will have to register the car with the DVLA to obtain a UK V5c and UK registration. In May of this year, the car was sent to Mercedes-Benz specialists, SS Motors of Weybridge, for a full vehicle inspection & report, an MoT and work which included removal of old fuel pipes and re-fitting new ones, strip down and re-assembly of the off-side front hub and front suspension lubrication along with a host of other jobs, for which there is a bill of £1,700 in the history file. With original 280SE 3.5 Cabriolets now commanding premium prices, this example, albeit a conversion of a coupe, is a presentable car that will cause a stir when you pull up at any classic event this summer.

1989 Porsche 911 930 Turbo Le

Lot #521 (Sale Order 22 of 53)

The Porsche 930 Turbo was a genuine 'Supercar' that defined the Seventies and Eighties and was one of the fastest production cars available at the time. It was first seen at the 1973 Paris Auto Show and full production commenced two years later. The basic engine underpinnings came from the Carrera 2.7RS which was increased to 3.0 Litres and, of course, turbocharged with technology gleaned from Porsche's 917/30 Can-Am programme. The bodywork received special treatment to produce one of the most aggressive looking Porsches ever made with its wide arches and impressive rear whale-tail. The brakes came directly from the Porsche 917 race car. The final evolution of the 930 Turbo saw the engine capacity increased to 3299cc, with improved upgrades on the intercooler and fitment of the G50 transmission. By 1989, the final year of production, the power had risen to 330bhp and rose again to an impressive 380bhp for the Limited Edition model. This original right-hand drive 930 Turbo Limited Edition (LE) was sold new on the 1st August 1989 by Rivervale, Berkshire. The factory option sticker under the bonnet shows it was supplied with the following option codes: heated seats (139), locking limited slip diff (220), shorter gear shift lever (243), sunroof (650) and velour carpeting (975). The original service booklet and wallet show 18 stamps from various specialists such as RGL, JAZ and Porsche themselves. There are a large number of bills and receipts in the history folder for various jobs over the years and the mileage of 30,500 miles is verified by MoT certificates dating back to 1993.The Porsche is finished in its original colour of Grand Prix White and the paintwork appears to have aged well. The Linen cream interior is presented in beautiful condition, befitting a car that has covered just over 30,000 miles. Supplied with a Porsche certificate of authenticity, the original tyre inflator, MoT certificate until January 2015 and a spare key, we welcome any inspection on this vehicle. A full Porsche West London vehicle health check, carried out in May 2014, can be found in the history file and is available to any prospective purchasers. In addition, this 930 Turbo will be serviced by Porsche Solihull immediately prior to the auction. The 930 Turbo was in production for an incredible 14 years and is the epitome of supercar design. The last 50 Limited Edition vehicles are arguably the most collectable of the 21,589 cars built, as they were only available to the UK market and represent an exclusive and exhilarating ownership proposition.

1963 Mercedes-benz 230 Sl Pagoda 1963 Mercedes-benz 230 Sl Pagoda

1963 Mercedes-benz 230 Sl Pagoda

Lot #522 (Sale Order 23 of 53)

The second generation of the SL series began with the 230 of 1963. Designed by Paul Bracq, its wonderfully crisp styling clothed a monocoque chassis equipped with all round independent suspension, power assisted disc/drum brakes, recirculating ball steering and a 2306cc straight six engine of 150bhp and 145 lb ft of torque mated to either a four speed manual or automatic transmission. Of the 48,912 W113 Series cars made between 1963 and 1971, 19,831 were 230SLs.Originally delivered new to Hong Kong in 1964, and not repatriated to the UK until 1981, this stunning Mercedes-Benz Pagoda still retains its period Log Book from its time overseas.  Finished in Diamond Blue Metallic with contrasting Blue hide interior, this fine example of the marque boasts an incredible history file with considerable sums having been lavished on the car in its time.Perhaps the most significant expenditure has been since 2007, during which period this Mercedes has undergone a complete nut and bolt restoration by recognised and skilled craftsmen.   The body work was prepared by Nigel Cooper Coachworks of West London, renowned for their Concours winning skills with Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin and Facel Vegas and the gorgeous paintwork, trim, engine rebuild and finishing were completed by respected Mercedes' experts, Roger Edwards of Amersham.   The result is an absolutely stunning example of this classically beautiful car and as close to 'perfect' as we, in the old car game, dare to award....The engine bay is beautiful and those parts that can be made to shine, gleam. Everything else appears to work perfectly.  The 2300cc. engine mated to the manual gearbox delivers a spirited and rewarding drive, not always the case with the smaller engined cars.  Complete with matching hardtop, this little Mercedes has only been lightly used but regularly exercised in its current ownership and since its restoration.  Any post restoration niggles have been ironed out and the car has been fully set up, runs sweetly and is ready to enjoy.  The recent replacement of the clutch master and slave cylinders, whilst not strictly required, demonstrates the continuing care that this car receives. An attractive proposition, no doubt, for our friends at the Hong Kong Classic Car Club, this car from February 1965 was registered ‘AF 6933’ during its time in HK and resided at the Skyline Mansions, 51 Conduit Road, where today more than £3m GBP is required to secure lodging.  We understand, but can't confirm, that this car could re-enter and be registered in Hong Kong with no duties or taxes to pay. Even those with nothing but a passing appreciation for classic cars, can’t help but be bowled over by the condition, quality and beauty of this Mercedes which, we’re confident, could not be replicated for less than £160,000 today.  Worthy of the most careful consideration…**Please note, the registration number ‘8 MOS’ does not accompany this Lot, however, it may be available by separate negotiation.

1972 Bmw 3.0 Csl 1972 Bmw 3.0 Csl

1972 Bmw 3.0 Csl

Lot #523 (Sale Order 24 of 53)

The European Touring Car Championship of the early 1970s encouraged performance manufacturers to build some rare and exciting homologation specials, notably Ford with their Escort and Capri derivatives and BMW with their CSL. Standing for 'Coupe Sport Leicht', the BMW 3.0 CSL was indeed light - having an aluminium bonnet, boot and doors combined with less interior trim, saving a valuable 300lbs in excess weight and with the standard 3.0 ltr. straight six giving 206 bhp the cars were very quick. The 1,039 CSLs produced by BMW are now highly collectable and sought after, particularly the rare original right-hand drive factory produced cars, such as this one.Manufactured in October 1972 and registered to its first owner, a Mr Colin Trayte of P.B. Sharpe & Sons Ltd, Cornwall in 1973, this striking 3.0 CSL is presented in its original colour of Taiga Green. Used as a company car for the next 9 years, this Munich express was purchased by its second owner, one Brigadier T. Sampson CBE of Bodmin in 1982, who was to own the car until 2002, although it was off the road for the last 8 years of his ownership. Our vendor was lucky enough to fulfil his dreams in 2002 when he purchased this car in a rather poor condition. Work was immediately undertaken by classic BMW specialists Cooks Ferry Engineering, to repair most of the problem areas and to make the car roadworthy and reliable. Included in the history file are all the bills from the aforementioned specialist, and well-known parts specialists Jaymic. Our vendor then used the car as his primary transport for the next seven years without any problems. In October 2010, he decided that the car deserved to be restored properly, and entrusted Titan Motor Services of Colchester to handle the project, with Walloth Nesch and Jaymic supplying new OEM panels to ensure the best possible body finish. As before, all invoices are logged within the history file in date order (totalling some £30,000), as well as a full photographic record of all work carried out, including the sills and other ‘hidden' areas all of which have now been remedied. The work was eventually completed in March 2014, and only around 1,500 miles have been covered since. Most recently, the engine has been taken out of the car and detailed, along with the engine bay itself, which was re-painted by the Master Technicians at BMW Park Lane Service Department. This process involved media blasting and re-zincing all of the original nuts, bolts and hose clips to retain originality, and as a result, the engine bay now looks absolutely stunning. The interior is completely original, apart from an aftermarket steering wheel (original included in the sale) as it has aged particularly well, and so adds to the charm of this car, which, while not being concours, is a fantastic example of money well been spent in key areas - notably the body! The car also retains a full complement of tools in the bootlid.Under our vendors fastidious ownership, every invoice is logged in a folder, old MoTs are present, and even an original and thought to be rare BMW 3.0 CS / CSi / CSL brochure is in situ.Being the 9th 3.0 CSL of only 500 cars originally supplied in RHD, and with the odometer currently reading a believed to be genuine 64,000 miles, ‘TES 2K' is worthy of serious collector consideration in a market where many of its adversaries of the period, such as the Porsche 911 2.7 RS, are now fetching huge sums of money.

1968 Mercedes-benz 280sl 1968 Mercedes-benz 280sl

1968 Mercedes-benz 280sl

Lot #524 (Sale Order 25 of 53)

The Mercedes 280SL ‘Pagoda' was introduced in December 1967 and continued in production through until February 1971.The W113 was then replaced by its successor, the entirely new and substantially heavier R107 350SL. Over the years, the W113 evolved from a ‘sports car' into a comfortable ‘grand tourer', and was usually equipped with the 4-speed automatic transmission and air conditioning. The obvious change from its predecessor was the upgrade to the 2778cc M130 engine, which purists will tell you, finally gave the Pagoda adequate power. Now suitably refined, the car proved popular in the US market, however we've recently seen a significant increase in demand here in the UK, partly due to the 190SL rising beyond the budgets of many.Offered here is a 280SL Pagoda delivered new in 1968 to its first owner in Florida, USA. Presented in brown with a tan leather interior, this car is the result of a full ‘nut & bolt' restoration over the past 2 years by international restorers, the Byrnes Motor Trust, and the gold hardtop and hub caps give it distinctive look. The car is currently at Mercedes specialist, Silchester Garage, having a full inspection, minor remedial work, a service and a tune-up.The car has been NOVA'd and any import duties paid, so any prospective buyer will need to register it with the DVLA to obtain a UK V5c and registration. It will also arrive at the sale with a fresh MoT certificate. In summary, this is a fine example of a popular classic where all the hard work has already been done, and all that's left to do is turn the key, sit back and enjoy the ride!

1971 Land Rover 109 Lwb Series Iia 1971 Land Rover 109 Lwb Series Iia

1971 Land Rover 109 Lwb Series Iia

Lot #525 (Sale Order 26 of 53)

The Series IIA is considered by many to be the most hardy Series model ever constructed. It's also the type of classic Land Rover that features strongly in the general public's perception of the brand due to its many appearances in popular films and television documentaries set in Africa throughout the 1960s, such as Born Free.In February 1968, just a few months after its manufacturer had been subsumed into the Leyland Motor Corporation, the Land Rover celebrated its twentieth birthday, with total production just short of 600,000, of which more than 70% had been exported. In 1967, a 2.6-litre, six cylinder petrol engine was introduced for the long-wheelbase models which also, finally, got to benefit from servo-assisted brakes. 811 of these were NADA (or North American Dollar Area) trucks, which were the only long-wheelbase models made for the American and Canadian markets.Certainly, it was whilst the Series IIA was in production that sales of utility Land Rovers reached their peak, and in 1969/70 sales of over 60,000 Land Rovers a year were recorded. (For comparison, the sales of the Defender since the 90s have been around the 25,000 level.) Record sales do not automatically confer domination of the market but the Land Rover came to dominate the World simply because it was the best. In the 1960s the Land Rover represented almost 90% of the Australian 4×4 market and this level of success was repeated in other areas such as Africa and the Middle East.Good examples of Series IIs and IIAs are now beginning to achieve classic status, and are starting to appreciate in value, although many are still in daily use.The first registered owners of the car on offer today, were the infamous Bucharest Serviciul de Telecomunicati (UM 0731) (Public Order and Safety) and it then went on to be used for "Hunting" by the Communist Romanian Secret Service during the Ceausescu dictatorship. This versatile vehicle with a thought provoking history was first registered in 1971 and is presented in light grey, with a 4 speed manual gearbox, 2.6 in-line 6 cylinder petrol engine and has only 899 km on the clock. Ideal for use as a work horse around the farm and stables, as a second or third family vehicle or as a collector's piece, and is certainly an exciting prospect.

1974 Jaguar E-type Series Iii V12 Manual 1974 Jaguar E-type Series Iii V12 Manual

1974 Jaguar E-type Series Iii V12 Manual

Lot #526 (Sale Order 27 of 53)

Jaguar introduced the E-Type in March 1961 to worldwide acclaim. Early forays into motor sport were rewarded in May of that year when Graham Hill celebrated the type's first win at Oulton Park. Success on the track was reflected on the road and was to continue right up to 1974, with over 70,000 E-Types eventually produced in Coventry. From 1961, the E-Type evolved and improved in its lifecycle from the original Series 1 Coupés and Roadsters, through the Series 2 cars of the late 1960s until finally the Series 3 arrived in late 1971, this 5.3 V12 being only available as a convertible or a '2+2'. Approximately 7,990 Series 3 convertibles were sold worldwide before production ceased.Offered here is a fabulous Series 3 Roadster finished in Gunmetal Grey with an Ox Blood red leather interior. The car was purchased by our vendor in 2013, and sent, almost immediately, to respected Jaguar specialists Hilton & Moss in Hertfordshire, where it was to remain for the next year. Their brief was to create a good looking car that would be sufficiently reliable to be used every day. The result was sensational. The refurbishment is well documented with bills totalling more than £24,000. The work carried out is too extensive to list here, but included stripping and refurbishing the gearbox, fitting new brakes, refurbishing the chrome wire wheels, respraying and adjusting the bodywork to give excellent panels gaps, fitting a new windscreen, carpets, hood and repairing the hood frame. To ensure reliability and performance, the engine was fettled, new ancillaries fitted and then serviced. A new wood-rimmed Mota-Lita steering wheel enhances the look of the interior, and the original leather steering wheel is included in the sale. This stunning looking car presents the opportunity to own a legendary British classic with which you can pop to the shops in the morning and display at a local show in the afternoon.

1965 Mercedes-benz 230 Sl Pagoda 1965 Mercedes-benz 230 Sl Pagoda

1965 Mercedes-benz 230 Sl Pagoda

Lot #527 (Sale Order 28 of 53)

Introduced at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show and produced until 1971, the 230SL was based on the W111 sedan platform, with a reduced wheelbase, recirculating ball steering, double wishbone front suspension and an independent single-joint, low-pivot swing rear axle with a transverse compensator spring. Offered with a 4-speed manual transmission, or an optional, very responsive fluid coupled 4-speed automatic transmission, the former was the more popular choice in Europe.Offered here is a right-hand drive, 4-speed manual, 1965 230SL Pagoda finished in gold with a black interior and supplied with a black hardtop in nice condition. According to some documents contained within the history file, the bodywork was restored around 1987 - 1988, when new wings and sills were fitted, along with an engine overhaul, however, we cannot confirm who carried out this work.In April 1989, at which time the mileage was recorded as 61,340, the car was sold by Christies to a Mr and Mrs Dieter Kiel of Plymouth. During their ownership, the car was maintained fastidiously by Daley Motors of Plymouth, with every receipt & MoT documented, along with parts invoices from Mercedes-Benz. The couple were to own ‘DYX 790C' for 15 years, before selling the car in 2004, to a Mr Maurice Webb, who kept it for a further 4 years before himself selling to the next owner, a Mr S. McInerney. The latter named keeper took ownership of this 230SL until 2014 when our vendor acquired the car.Upon purchase, our vendor sent the car to classic Mercedes-Benz specialists, Roger Edwards Motors of Amersham, for fine tuning, and in the winter of 2014 spent £3,518 having the rear axle removed & reassembled with a new centre bush, new top mounts, replacement rubber boots all round, new shock absorbers and a new alternator fitted. A new opportunity overseas for our vendor, has meant that it is now time to pass on the baton of ownership to the next person for this very useable little "Pagoda". Accompanied by a nice history file, a UK V5C and MoT, this car, whilst not a concours contender, is presentable and can be enjoyed for many years to come.

1967 Jaguar Mk.Ii 3.4 / 340 Auto 1967 Jaguar Mk.Ii 3.4 / 340 Auto

1967 Jaguar Mk.Ii 3.4 / 340 Auto

Lot #528 (Sale Order 29 of 53)

The Jaguar Mk.II saloon was voted the car of the year when launched in 1959. With three engine options of 2.4, 3.4 and 3.8 (the 3.8 being the fastest saloon in the world at the time), it would form the mainstay of Jaguar's saloon production until 1967. It would also claim notoriety with both the police force and the villains of the day due to its performance and reliability. On track, the car enjoyed similar success in the early days of British Saloon Car racing, being driven by legends such as Graham Hill and Sir Jackie Stewart, cementing its place in history. In September 1967 the 2.4 and 3.4 litre Mark II cars were rebadged as the 240 and 340 respectively. These were interim models until the introduction of the XJ6 in September 1968.Engine output of the 340 with its straight-port type cylinder head and twin HS6 SU carburetors with a new inlet manifold was now quoted at 210bhp, whilst the automatic transmission was upgraded to a Borg-Warner 35 dual drive range.  The economies of the new 340 models came at a cost sadly, as the leather upholstery was replaced by Ambla leather-like material and tufted carpet was used on the floor, although both had been introduced on the Mk.II a year earlier. This, matching numbers, automatic gearbox, Jaguar 340 was manufactured on the 7th of September, 1967 and is an imposing and handsome car offered in the timeless colours of British Racing Green with a plush black interior. It benefits from being the recipient of extensive maintenance and upgrades during its life, including a rebuilt engine and cylinder head in 2012 by Coventry Boring & Metalling Co., a Graham Whitehouse rebuilt gearbox in 2003, a power steering conversion, stainless steel exhaust and low wear polyurethane suspension bushes for better handling. This car comes from the home of a skilled engineer, who is an avid Jaguar collector, and has been set up to be extremely reliable and when required a fantastic grand tourer, as proven by a handful of problem free long distance trips with his family including the Le Mans classic.Accompanying the car is more than 30 years of comprehensive history, including tax discs and MoT's tracking the life of this Jaguar through its six owners. Furthermore, this car retains its original tool kit and is fitted with a fully functioning tow bar. As a nod to its sporting heritage, this timeless Jaguar wears Coombs style rear spats and is fitted with an evocative E-Type style steering wheel. The paintwork is in good order all round, save for one or two very minor blemishes at the bottom of the offside rear passenger door, and the interior is in excellent condition with reconditioned wood, new carpets, new headlining and excellent seating.Offered Without Reserve and in fine order throughout, this 340 Jaguar is worthy of serious consideration at auction.

1954 Jaguar Xk120 Se Roadster 1954 Jaguar Xk120 Se Roadster

1954 Jaguar Xk120 Se Roadster

Lot #529 (Sale Order 30 of 53)

Launched in Roadster form, at the 1948 London Motor Show as a testbed and show car for the new Jaguar XK engine, the level of acclaim was such that Jaguar founder and design head, William Lyons, put the XK120 into production. The "120" in its name referred to its 120mph top speed which made the XK120 the world's fastest standard production car at the time of its introduction. Success in motor racing secured the cars future and an icon was born. Development continued for the 120 with the introduction of the Special Equipment, or SE, in 1951 which boasted an extra 20bhp, bringing it up to 180bhp, and the styling enjoyed a few subtle changes. Today, Jaguar XKs, and particularly 120s, remain sought after with the Roadsters in particular carrying a premium over the Drophead and Fixed Head Coupés.Supplied new by distributor, Charles Hornburg of Los Angeles, in Spring 1954, this matching-numbers 1954 XK120 SE Roadster was then, as it is today, finished in Cream coachwork with a Blue leather interior and Fawn soft-top, and was delivered to a Nancy H. Biggs of Missouri, according to its Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. Mrs. Biggs was the wife of David Biggs, a well-known Jaguar enthusiast of the time, and she was also a member of the Sports Car Club of America in her own right. Reputedly, their collection of cars included an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B, the famous Ferrari 250 TR known as "Big Red", an ex-Jim Kimberly Ferrari 225 S, a Horch, a 1930 Mercedes-Benz, and this Jaguar, which was a gift from husband to wife and remained with them until 1965.For the next 40 or more years, the car remained in the USA (primarily in California) and in 2009, in Southern California, the car was restored to concours standard and was shown several times at JCNA Concours events. On one occasion in 2009, the car scored a remarkable 99 points out of a possible 100. By 2012, and after regular careful use in So Cal this now resplendent Jaguar found its way to its penultimate owner, who felt the need to treat it to a further full cosmetic restoration, including a repaint in the original colour and the chrome was refinished. Receipts for these works are included in the history file.By virtue of their extra power, the SE variants have always been regarded as better to drive, and this fine example was snapped up by a UK enthusiast for the purpose of regularity rallying in Europe, and being left-hand drive was perfect. This is the ideal purpose for such a car, and indeed interest from enthusiasts for these cars is great thanks to their eligibility, usability and comfort on long distance classic rallies like the Mille Miglia. Since arriving in the UK, approximately a further £10,000 (besides registration) has been spent on improving this splendid motor car including a major service and further works to the ignition, brakes, steering rack, hood, electrics and the exhaust.   Not intending to part with this car so soon, its sale today is only to permit the realisation of the vendor's life-long dream to own one of the alloy-bodied XK120 Roadsters that he has been offered by a friend. We have all been tempted in the past to make an impulse purchase at auction and possibly lived to regret it, however, this stunning 120 is proven, reliable, restored and inexcusably pretty and could well turn out to be the car that you will keep forever.

1959 Mercedes-benz 190 Sl Roadster 1959 Mercedes-benz 190 Sl Roadster

1959 Mercedes-benz 190 Sl Roadster

Lot #530 (Sale Order 31 of 53)

The Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a two door convertible manufactured between May 1955 and February 1963. In terms of styling, engineering and suspension, the 190 closely resembled its big brother the 300SL, however the smaller car did not use the 300SL's purpose built tubular space frame but was built instead on a modified shortened saloon platform.I would imagine, that if you were interested in maybe owning a 190SL one day, then you will probably know all that.If you are REALLY interested in buying a 190SL then your search is over. You may have looked at, and considered a number of other 190s, but forget those. This is it. This is non-negotiably THE 190SL.This car is totally mint and freshly out of a nut and bolt restoration. We are always advised not to use the expression "as new" but, I would suggest, that if you walked into a Mercedes- Benz dealer in Germany in 1959 this is what you would see. This car had spent many glamorous years under the California Sun and therefore was solid and rust free when it underwent a meticulous nut and bolt restoration. All the work was fully documented with a large photographic file showing before, during and after pictures. There are dozens of pictures. You don't take dozens of pictures unless you are really proud of your work.(This file will be available to interested parties at the time of the sale). The car is finished in gleaming metallic Silver that is absolutely flawless. The new interior is in a deep Salmon colour with matching carpets and all in the appropriate M-B materials.Under the bonnet the attention to detail is exemplary with brand new parts seemingly wherever you look and everything is to a showroom standard. Perfection of this order is not easily achieved. In preperation for the sale the car has had a full inspection and spanner check by respected Mecedes-Benz specialists Silchester Garage and comes with its original hard top.Imagine yourself on a June evening in this lovely 50's Mercedes, boulevarding through the colourful streets of Villefranche-sur-Mer, enjoying the warm Cote d'Azure air, turning left onto the quayside and rolling gently to a halt by the terrace outside La Mere Germain, to the polite applause of the knowledgeable diners who always appreciate a stunning classic. It doesn't have to be a dream. 1970 Mercedes-benz 280 Se 3.5 Automatic

Lot #531 (Sale Order 32 of 53)

The Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Coupe was a style statement totally in tune with the sense of extravagance in Central Europe at the end of the sixties. Although quite a large car, with all the windows down it had all the chic of the French pillar-less coupes of the late 50s, but with acres of expensive leather and Burr Maple it oozed Germanic luxury. This is the desirable 3.5 litre, V8 model made for just two years from 1968 and is equipped with the automatic gearbox. The car has lived in the dry Australian interior for the last couple of decades which probably accounts for its rust free condition today. The odometer indicates 11,719 miles and, we understand, has been round the clock once. The Paintwork is finished in deep Fern Green Metallic; a colour that really suits the car. The interior is in original Tan leather and is in very good order throughout as are the Maple wood cappings and dashboard and the white steering wheel. The word "Patina" is often incorrectly used but the interior of this lovely green Mercedes has that wonderful "lived-in feel" of a London Gentleman's Club. These large Mercedes Benz cars have superb reliability and bullet proof mechanics. The engine starts readily & pulls well through the smooth auto box. Braking is likewise reassuringly powerful. The car is in fine order with a very original unmolested feel to it.We think you will approve.

The DB7 Vantage was first introduced at the Geneva motor show in 1999 with a 6 litre V12, 48 valve engine giving 420bhp and 400 lbs/ft. of torque. 1989 Detomaso Pantera Gt5-s 1989 Detomaso Pantera Gt5-s

1989 Detomaso Pantera Gt5-s

Lot #533 (Sale Order 34 of 53)

Although De Tomaso was very much an Italian company, both in spirit and location, being based in the city of Modena in Emilia-Romagna, its founder, Alejandro de Tomaso came from a prominent farming family in Argentina. Perhaps inspired by his countryman, Juan Manuel Fangio, he moved to Italy in 1955 to pursue a career racing cars. Having made it to Formula One by 1957, his failure to score any Grand Prix points by 1959 prompted him to quit and form his own car company. Modena was already the home of a number of small firms building fast sports cars, and with a pool of experienced designers and skilled craftsmen, seemed an ideal place to start.Over the years a number of exotic designs emanated from De Tomaso, the Valelunga, Deauville, Longchamp and the Guigiaro influenced Mangusta, however it's the Tom Tjaarda designed Pantera that will be remembered as their flagship vehicle with 7260 being built between 1971 and 1992, this figure representing some 86% of the company's total production.Introduced in November 1984 one of the final incarnations of the Pantera was the GT5-S of which less than 190 were produced. A further evolution of the GT5, the S model had blended arches and a distinctive wide-body look. The 'S' in the GT5-S name stood for "steel", as unlike the GT5, the entire body was of steel construction. This particular Pantera GT5-S is one of the last produced, having been built in 1989, and is an original RHD UK car, one of only 17 RHD GT5-Ss out of a total factory production of 187 sold worldwide!Looking resplendent in Rosso Corsa with a Crema interior, it's in lovely condition both inside and out and is a really nice example of a piece of Italian exotica. The car has been well maintained and regularly used, always the best way to ensure that any classic runs well, and in fact last year completed a trip to its Modena birthplace in Northern Italy. The engine and gearbox were stripped and rebuilt approximately 4/5 years ago with the big V8 being uprated to a fast road specification at the time and more recently, the power unit was refreshed in the Winter of 2014. Non-standard components on the car are confined to the engine internals, (though the original block is retained), heads, headers (originals with the car), valve covers (originals with the car), and the fitting of a reliable mechanical oil pressure gauge to supplement the factory item. This displaces the original clock, which has been retained and is supplied with the car to facilitate a return to standard. As the block is original and the majority of the ancillaries are present, the car could easily be returned to the original factory specification.G337XLO was featured in the April 2015 edition of "Retro Cars Magazine" with quite extensive coverage and a copy of this article is provided with the car.An incredible blend of Italian style with American muscle. There may be more outlandish cars out there, but for sheer aural and visual drama, the Pantera takes the prize.

1999 Bentley Azure 1999 Bentley Azure

1999 Bentley Azure

Lot #534 (Sale Order 35 of 53)

The Bentley Azure was introduced in 1995 and was based on the platform of the Continental R coupé which had been launched in 1991. The Azure often surprised with its size and bulk, intended to both convey a sense of presence and allow for the comfortable seating of four adult passengers. Power came from the company's stalwart 6.75 litre V8, featuring a single intercooled turbocharger producing in the region of 380bhp. The gearbox was a General Motors sourced, four-speed automatic unit with the Azure capable of 0 to 60mph in an impressive 6.1 seconds. Owing to the limited space at Bentley's Crewe factory, the Azure was assembled and finished by Pininfarina, significantly adding to the vehicle's production cost. From 1999, the Azure was also available in 'Mulliner Trim' which added special bespoke details and additional equipment, thus allowing the buyer the option for further customisation during the build process. Pricing varied as equipment could be significantly different from one to the next depending on personal preferences, however, the price list started at just over £200,000.This stunning Bentley Azure was originally registered on 16th September 1999 to a gentleman from Cyprus, as a present for his daughter. Sadly, he passed away shortly afterwards and the car was used sparingly for many years. It was then decided by the family that the Azure required professional maintenance, due to the exceptionally low mileage of only 215 miles. The car was entrusted to a Bentley main agent in Belgium, where a thorough mechanical recommissioning took place in 2009.Now reading just 217 miles, which we believe to be accurate based on its impeccable condition, this Bentley is finished in Sunrise Orange, with a cream leather interior and matching hood, and the car presents beautifully. The paintwork is very hard to fault and the panels gaps are all arrow straight. The interior is as close to new as one could possibly imagine. The cream leather and stitching is in perfect condition and is commensurate with a car that has travelled such low distances. The carpets are all original and look unused and the hood is in stunning condition and works faultlessly. With just one registered keeper from new and showing delivery mileage, this Bentley Azure must be seen to be appreciated. Inspections are encouraged and we welcome any pre-sale viewings. The car will be serviced prior to the auction and all fluids will be changed. Supplied with a current MoT and a decent history file, this Bentley Azure is simply unrepeatable and we feel collectors would be hard pushed to find another example in such pristine condition.

1969 Lynx-jaguar Xkss 1969 Lynx-jaguar Xkss

1969 Lynx-jaguar Xkss

Lot #535 (Sale Order 36 of 53)

The XKSS was produced following the decision made by Jaguar to pull out of all motorsport at the end of 1955. Sir William Lyons converted their 16 remaining 'D-Types' to road going specification for the American market by adding a passenger door, a full-width windscreen and wipers, an exhaust heat shield, sidescreens, a folding roof, bumpers all round, a luggage rack and rear light clusters. It was to become a complete icon of the era, an outstanding and good looking car driven by the privileged few, including movie stars of the day such as Steve McQueen. Values of the original cars range from £8-£10 million today, if you can find one.Highly respected Lynx Motor Cars was founded in 1968 and quickly made its name restoring and maintaining original C-Types, D-Types and E-Types of the period. Their decision to recreate D-Types and XKSS versions based on Series II E-Type engines and running gear was a logical one, based entirely on their experience with the original cars. Since then over 430 cars have passed through their workshops, either as recreation projects or original cars being restored or maintained. They have built ten XKSS versions over the years of which only three (including this one) have been left-hand drive. Their cars are bespoke and made only to order, making this a very special and rare opportunity.Offered here is a chance to own one of the finest XKSS recreations, built by the Lynx factory to their highest standards and specification, with over 3,000 hours of labour and attention to detail. Based on a 1969 4.2 Series II E-Type suspension, brakes, engine and gearbox the car was completed in 2015 having been converted to full XKSS specification and registered to Lynx Motors (International) Ltd. in Germany as a new car with all TÜV paperwork complete.Finished in Jaguar Gloss Black with complementing Jaguar Red leather interior the car is built on an aluminium monocoque with hand rolled aluminium panels, a rebuilt XK 4.2 litre, six cylinder engine wet sump engine, with double 'fast road' specification camshafts, a ported and flowed cylinder head and triple 45 DCOE Weber carburettors:- giving 270bhp at 4,500 RPM.A Getrag five-speed box delivers all the power smoothly and having just test miles under its belt, it comes to the sale with a 12 month Lynx warranty, from which the privileged first owner will benefit. Equipped with a full-width screen, Dunlop 16" wheels with spinners, authentic D-Type instruments and switch gear, Steve McQueen-specification XKSS seat cushions and glove box hatch, a detachable steering wheel, Monza-style fuel cap, seat belts, stainless steel luggage carrier, removable side screens, black hood and authentic under bonnet detailing. What an outstanding, rare and exciting opportunity to own an iconic and truly beautiful piece of Jaguar history. Bonhams sold a Lynx XKSS last year for £385,000 including commissions, confirming that this car is offered at a very sensible and attractive guide price today.

1964 Jaguar Mkii 4.2 By Lynx 1964 Jaguar Mkii 4.2 By Lynx

1964 Jaguar Mkii 4.2 By Lynx

Lot #536 (Sale Order 37 of 53)

The Mk II Jaguar saloon, built from late 1959 until 1967and available with three engine sizes, was handsome, comfortable, powerful and handled well. The 3.8 was a quick car, even by today's standards, with 220bhp on tap, resulting in a 0-60mph time of 8.5 seconds and a top speed of 125mph and, when new, was one of the fastest four door saloons available in Britain. It gained its place in our collective memory and iconic status partly from its high profile motor racing pedigree, but mainly from the large number of 60's black and white "Cops and Robbers" movies featuring "get-away drivers" in black MkIIs being chased by the Police in a white MkII. It was also the car that you might expect to see parked in the Managing Director's space in a subtle shade of Dark Green or Blue. "Grace, Pace and Space" was Jaguar's period advertising slogan, and this was absolutely epitomised by the Mk II.This gorgeous MkII started life as a 3.8 model and in 1999 its owner decided that the time had come to restore his beloved Jaguar, and by utilising more modern technology take the car to the next level. He approached Lynx Motors of Sussex who are renowned for the quality of their restoration and re-manufacture of historically important Jaguars and their brief was to restore the car and upgrade it in a number of areas with the proviso that it still retained its original look. This they did very successfully, and an indication of the amount of work carried out is provided by invoices, which accompany the car, totaling over £100,000.The car has been fitted with an uprated 4.2 Litre engine coupled to a more modern Jaguar XJ40 4 speed Automatic Gearbox, the suspension upgraded to Lynx Engineering standards, the brakes fully uprated and servo-assisted, and the car now sits on a set of sparkling chrome wire wheels. In the cabin the car features upgrades in the form of Air Conditioning, power steering, electric windows, central locking, and modern style electric front seats. Of course the interior has been fully re-trimmed in Tan Leather along with having specific door cards fabricated for the car and as such retains a wonderful period look. Additional work and upgrades are too extensive to list here but the car's history file contains lots more information.A magnificent and especially useable example of one of the 60's most iconic saloons, this gleaming white Jaguar is being offered at an attainable guide price representing just a fraction of its build cost.

1997 Caterham 21 Vhpd 1997 Caterham 21 Vhpd

1997 Caterham 21 Vhpd

Lot #537 (Sale Order 38 of 53)

Developed as a completely new model by Caterham Cars Ltd in the early 1990s to celebrate 21 years of the company, the Caterham 21 was mechanically similar to its predecessor, the Caterham 7, and incorporated a space-frame chassis with a newly designed GRP body, making it much more of a useable and comfortable roadster, whilst offering a 1.6 and a 1.8 litre engine, the latter producing 190bhp, and the superb Caterham designed, 6-speed gearbox.Offered here is a 21 used by Caterham Cars Ltd. as their original brochure, press and road test car. When tested by renowned Autocar journalist, Steve Sutcliffe in October 1997 he managed 0-60 in 4.5 secs with the car running in its original 190 bhp form. Being the press car, this example had a superb specification and is believed to be the fastest 21 produced. Included in the history file are the brochures and a copy of the Autocar magazine featuring this car. Presented in Honda Passion Metallic Orange with Black Leather trim, this 21 rides on its original 16-inch Caterham HPC wheels, which have been recently refurbished in gunmetal grey. Fitted with a Mohair hood and cover, the cabin is completed by a Momo steering wheel, fire extinguisher, roll hoops and a driver's 4-point harness. The car had an engine and gearbox rebuild at 30,000 miles, with engine upgrades increasing the power output to 204bhp. Work at this time included a gas flowed head, Jenvey throttle bodies, Vernier pulleys, Emerald ECU, Alloy Rad, Air/Oil separator and a bespoke twin stainless steel exhaust costing £1,000. The car was corner weighted at 691kg, equating to a power/weight figure of over 300bhp/per tonne! Thankfully, AP Racing 4-pot brake callipers ensure the car stops equally as well as it goes. This car has been meticulously maintained and has a full service book stamped from new to 58,470 miles (Aug 2013) with two folders of receipts for all the work carried out.  Sutcliffe summarises by saying "blindingly quick and hyper responsive in a car which also has a full sized boot unlike the Elise and Renault Sport Spider of the time."This Caterham 21 is a rapid and nimble little roadster and, with its distinctive looks and relative rarity, is sure to turn heads.

1997 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta 1997 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta

1997 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta

Lot #538 (Sale Order 39 of 53)

The Ferrari F355 is a modern classic, so beautiful, so well engineered and so well received that it marked the beginning of the end of the old guard ‘Ferraristi' philosophy that the only "real" Ferraris were ones with 12 cylinder engines. The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta and Targa GTS burst onto the world stage in the spring of 1994 with almost exactly the same dimensions as its predecessor the 348, yet it was virtually a new car, as its stunning coachwork indicated. Many hours of wind tunnel testing influenced the harmonious shape, which incorporated a Formula One style flat bottom with channelled airflow generating enough downforce to offset any lift. The longitudinally mounted 3496cc V8 produced a stunning 374bhp at a spine tingling 8250rpm and the gearbox now had six speeds with a new type of synchromesh making changes so much smoother. New, electronically adjustable, shock absorbers varied their stiffness within milliseconds to suit the road surface. Around Ferrari's 1.86 mile Fiorano test track, the 355 was two seconds a lap faster than the 12 cylinder 512 TR and, that level of performance combined with its sensational looks, made it a world wide success story. This European specification manual gearbox, LHD, F355 Berlinetta is in outstanding condition having been carefully looked after and maintained throughout its life.Showing a mere 45000kms (approx. 28,000mls), the car is accompanied by a detailed history file, and in 2013 underwent a major service which, of course, included the all important cam belt replacement. The service history is as follows.7/7/97 - pdi - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari18/07/1997 - 1060kms - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari12/01/2000 - 7756kms - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari11/11/2002 - 21133kms - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari03/02/2004 - 28480kms - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari28/04/2005 - 38687kms - Garage Zenith Ferrari06/09/2013 - 41450kms - Sportgarage Ruch full belt serviceThis 355 is enhanced by subtle upgrades in the form of drilled disc brakes, a "Challenge" grill, a Tubi Exhaust and, as an added bonus, has been signed by legendary Ferrari Formula 1 driver René Arnoux.Buyers are finally becoming aware just how useable and enjoyable these cars really are, so join the party quickly, as we all know what's happening to the prices of popular Ferraris.

1958 Jaguar Xk150 Fixedhead Coupe 1958 Jaguar Xk150 Fixedhead Coupe

1958 Jaguar Xk150 Fixedhead Coupe

Lot #539 (Sale Order 40 of 53)

The XK120 was launched in 1948 and was an international sensation finally putting Jaguar on the world stage, and with the cars successes in competition a hugely positive period began for the company. The XK150 was the final incarnation of the XK line and appeared in May 1957. A more refined and capable machine than its predecessors, the 150 was easily identifiable by its higher scuttle and door line, wider grille and improved interior space. However, the XK150 retained much of the mechanical layout of the XK140 sharing the same 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-six, which developed 180bhp at 5750rpm. Offered here is what can only be described as a full restoration project and fortunately, it still retains it original registration number PDM 817 and buff log book starting with owners from 1967. It seems as if it was taken off the road in 1984. Any restoration would allow the original colour of bronze to be reinstated together with the tan interior which would make a striking combination. Our vendor tells us that the engine, which is not matching numbers, starts and runs. As far as we can see, it is a complete car and a worthwhile cause as XKs continue to rise steadily in value.

1970 Lotus Elan S4 Se 1970 Lotus Elan S4 Se

1970 Lotus Elan S4 Se

Lot #540 (Sale Order 41 of 53)

Handles like nothing else can...the Lotus Elan.Colin Chapman said... ‘In producing the latest Lotus Drop-head and Fixed-head Coupe models, my design team set out to combine the outstandingly successful chassis, suspension and handling of the Elan with finely styled bodywork which would add functional good looks to the traditional Lotus handling and safety. We specified the comfort and silence of a luxury saloon (...) Finally, I demanded even higher standards of safety, quality and reliability than those which have made the Elan famous (...) All these objectives have been achieved in the new Lotus Elan S4 and I am proud to offer it for your consideration'.‘To say that driving the Elan is immense fun is almost an understatement. It is a car which keeps young men young and makes old men younger...' "Motor"The Lotus Elan features a very strong steel backbone chassis on which is mounted, like a saddle, a GRP body. It has 4-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension all round. Power is delivered from the famous Lotus 1558cc Twin Cam engine through a Ford 4-speed gearbox to the rear wheels. This results in a compliant ride and very nimble handling characteristics. The Elan has enjoyed significant success in motor sport since the days it was launched and is evident in large numbers in historic racing. Production volume of the Elan S4 was about 3000 cars in total, with a small percentage being the SE version. The ‘Special Equipment' version differs by having servo assisted brakes, an SE engine developing 118 bhp instead of 105 bhp, safety belts, a leather covered steering wheel, knock-on wheels with chrome embellishers, carpeted boot interior and Special Equipment badges.Sold new in the UK in March 1970, this beautiful Lotus S4 SE Drop-head Coupe is finished in bright red with a black leatherette interior. A file with over 40 years of continuous and extensive history comes with this attractive little sports car. The mileage, while unwarranted, of 78,400 is backed by service history and MOT certificates dating back to the 1980s.The car was restored in the early 1990s on a powder coated Spider chassis and has covered a low mileage since. Recently it has been given a fresh, bare shell respray and all four Rotoflex and shock absorbers were replaced during its refurbishment.Fitted with the Original numbers matching Lotus SE engine, with H-stamped cylinder head, it has benefited from a recent overhaul by a renowned specialist with (amongst others) a new water pump, timing chain, valve seats and guides, bearings and fuel pump. Known modifications to originality are a free flow K&N air filter instead of the restricting original airbox, a modern radiator to improve cooling capacity and a stainless steel exhaust. The Elan is fitted with its original, working radio and comes with promotional literature, the owner's manual and original workshop manual. This is a lovely and very usable example of an iconic Classic, which is both an elegant and sophisticated convertible, and a thoroughbred sports car with unbeatable handling.

1993 Ferrari 348 Ts 1993 Ferrari 348 Ts

1993 Ferrari 348 Ts

Lot #541 (Sale Order 42 of 53)

The Ferrari 348 series marked a radical departure in the way Maranello constructed its cars, replacing as they did a chassis of traditional steel tubes with a much stiffer monocoque structure attached to a tubular rear subframe. Suspension remained independent front and rear with wishbones, springs, telescopic shocks, antiroll bars, and revised geometry. The ventilated disc brakes were much larger than those of its predecessor the Ferrari 328, and used anti-lock technology. A midship mounted V8 returned, but it was larger and more powerful displacing 3405cc, mounted longitudinally and mated to a transverse gearbox. The displacement accounted for the new car's Ferrari 348 designation. A higher compression ratio and updated fuel injection helped generate 300 horsepower, 30-40 more than the Ferrari 328, whilst dry-sump lubrication gave the new Ferrari a lower centre of gravity. The 348 was the last design under the supervision of legendary chief stylist Leonardo Fioravanti. Taking cues from the Testarossa, its lines were softer than those of the 328 but still curvaceous, the side strakes being the most obvious Testarossa inspiration. The wheelbase was longer than the 328's and the track wider, giving the interior more space. This 348 TS was imported from Germany and has had 2 owners from new. It's a left-hand drive example and has an odometer reading of only 43,000 kilometres or 26,719 miles. It features a Challenge exhaust system that sounds absolutely fantastic and comes with a good service history. A fresh service has just been carried out in Denmark and it is described as ready to go. Finished in Giallo Fly Yellow with a black leather interior, the car presents very well indeed. The 348 has been largely ignored in the Ferrari market and offered here for sale is surely one of the best value Ferraris in the UK. With values of its predecessor, the 328, edging closer to and sometimes beyond £100,000 and its successor, the F355, selling above the £50,000 bracket, this 348 offers ideal entry level Ferrari ownership for a most realistic outlay.

1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0

1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0

Lot #542 (Sale Order 43 of 53)

Anyone interested in purchasing an older 911 will have a good idea of how these iconic cars developed over the years, so we will concentrate on this particular car.Originally supplied on the 23rd of June in 1977 by Charles Follett Ltd. of Berkeley Square this is one of only 3400 Carrera Sports built, and is very rare in right hand drive. Finished in its original Grand Prix White with the signature black Carrera stripes, it has a factory electric sunroof, electric windows, correct Fuchs alloys, a model correct rubber rear spoiler, green tinted windows and a rear wiper. The vin number and engine number match the records in the original service book and the odometer indicates just over 100,000 miles which is supported by an extensive service and maintenance record file. It appears that this 911 has covered less than 5000 miles in the last 10 years and has been unused for the last 3. The Porsche service book remains in its original burgundy wallet. The maintenance history makes mention of a top end rebuild with a new clutch, injectors and gearbox overhaul being done at circa 77,000 miles and the engine certainly sounds sweet but, having been unused for 3 years, a full service would be advisable. A 12 month MOT has recently been issued. It's great that the car still wears its original Grand Prix White and, although the paintwork has some flaws, it's absolutely fine for use now or it can be painted at some point in the future should you wish. The interior is in black and very tidy. Altogether a quick, attractive and very rare 70's Porsche.

1990 Lancia Lancia Delta Hf Integrale 16v 1990 Lancia Lancia Delta Hf Integrale 16v

1990 Lancia Lancia Delta Hf Integrale 16v

Lot #543 (Sale Order 44 of 53)

Despite the fact that the 8 valve Integrale had dominated the 1988 World Rally Championship, Lancia knew that further upgrades, and particularly more power, were needed to keep the car competitive with newer rivals. Accordingly, the extensively developed 16 valve car appeared a short time later, and made a winning debut on the 1989 San Remo Rally. The 16v Integrale was launched at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show and the new car could be distinguished from its predecessor by the raised bonnet centre section to accommodate the, slightly taller, 16 valve engine. Other visible exterior changes were wider wheels and tyres and new identity badges front and rear. The torque split was changed to 47% front and 53% rear to give the car better handling characteristics. The turbocharged 2-litre Lancia engine, already a powerful, refined performer was further developed for the Integrale 16v. Generating 200 bhp. (149 kW) at 5500 rpm, it took the car to a maximum speed of 137 mph (220 km/h) and from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.5 seconds. Larger injectors provided higher power output and more effective use of the fuel feed at high engine speeds. The response of the Garrett T3 turbocharger was immediate, thanks to the reduced inertia of the turbine removing turbo-lag, and a highly efficient intercooler enabled the engine to run at high outputs for longer without compromising reliability. The new over-boost system used a proportional electrovalve to increase engine torque to 220 lb/ft (298 N•m) at 3,000 rpm. All these improvements made the road-going version of the Integrale 16v a spirited, reliable and inherently safe car. This superb, left-hand drive, Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v is finished in lovely Nero Metallic with a Grey Harlem interior. Showing 74,500kms (46,000mls), the car is presented in excellent order having spent most of its life in the ownership of a European collector, who cherished the little Lancia and took it with him whenever he moved.First registered in Spain, and later in Holland, a move to Switzerland dictated that he, sadly, had to part with the car as the big Turbo and the lack of a Catalytic Convertor meant that the car fell foul of local regulations and could not be registered.Very rarely found in this condition, this Delta comes with the relevant Manuals and a stamped history book and is UK Registered with all taxes paid. The car has had a recent Full Service including the, all important, Cam Belt replacement.A real stunner, these 4 wheel drive pocket rockets are great fun to drive and are gaining real traction in the market as usable future classics.

1989 Porsche 911 930 Turbo 1989 Porsche 911 930 Turbo

1989 Porsche 911 930 Turbo

Lot #544 (Sale Order 45 of 53)

The 911 Turbo, introduced in 1975 and remaining in production until 1989, was sufficiently different from previous versions to earn a new, 930, model number. Externally distinctive with its "Whale Tail" rear spoiler, wide tyres, bulging wheel arches and macho stance, 930s were also equipped with air conditioning, electric windows, a leather interior, tinted glass, headlamp washers and Bilstein shocks as standard. After two years the engine was enlarged from 3 litres to 3.3 and power outputs increased over time, from 260 to 330 bhp. Turbo lag was an ever-present problem, only really being resolved in the last year of production in 1989 with an engine re-map and the introduction of a five speed gearbox giving a much more useable power band. With 330 horses available, mostly at the same time, a 4-speed gearbox and the 911's distinctive handling characteristics, inappropriate use of the throttle could quickly turn a scenic drive into a drive through the scenery, however the 1989, 5-speed car offered here is considerably more user friendly. The, Guards Red, Turbo for sale today has been in the same ownership since 1993 and has been meticulously maintained and serviced at, either an Official Porsche Dealership, or an acknowledged Marque Specialist. The body and paintwork are in excellent condition as is the lovely original interior.Service documents and the MoT Certificates support the claimed total mileage of 68,600 and the car comes complete with all the Owners Manuals, an original Porsche cleaning kit, puncture repair pack and two sets of keys. With its "Tea Tray" rear spoiler and "Look at me" presence the 911 Turbo somehow came to represent the unfortunate excesses of the Eighties, but that image has faded over the last few years and the Turbo is now seen as a wonderful iconic classic Porsche. One for the discerning owner and not to be missed.

1965 Jaguar E-type Roadster Conversion 1965 Jaguar E-type Roadster Conversion

1965 Jaguar E-type Roadster Conversion

Lot #545 (Sale Order 46 of 53)

From the collection of retired professional rally driver Kevin Videan.During the 1970s Kevin Videan competed in a number of national and international rallies, as a works driver for Datsun he helped to establish the Datsun 240Z as a legendary rally car, and in his personal Porsche 2.7 Carrera RS lightweight, Kevin won the 1977 Gremlin Motoring News Rally. In later life Kevin established a small, but perfectly formed, collection of best of breed British motor cars. We have the honour of offering three of Kevin's motor cars at this sale and this fully restored 1965 E-Type, which has been meticulously and professionally converted from a fixed head coupe to a roadster at a cost of more than £50,000, and has covered just 3,950 miles since restoration. There have been volumes written on the E-Type, indeed there is no other British car, perhaps second only to the Mini, that has generated such a cult following. It is therefore our intention to concentrate on the many merits of this exceptional E-Type roadster on offer today. When the third owner took his 4.2 Series 1 fixed head coupe for restoration, he was offered the opportunity to convert the car to roadster specification. Not only was the car superbly restored, the engine rebuilt with VSE unleaded head and the interior re-trimmed, but the roadster conversion used new panels and parts to make it identical to a contemporary 4.2 roadster. The new, original specification, soft top fits perfectly to the windscreen with the period correct, roadster spec triple catches. The full new leather interior now has a superb patina in keeping with the rest of the car, the period dashboard and steering wheel. The paintwork was completely refreshed in the gleaming Carmen red you see today and the chassis and paint plates were reattached to the car. After the restoration was complete, the DVLA was notified of the car's new status and it is duly listed in the V5C as a convertible.Today this E-Type presents itself in totally outstanding condition, but more importantly it's what's under the famous bonnet that counts. Of the numerous new parts and upgrades fitted during the restoration of particular note are the following; GAZ shock absorbers are part of the new suspension arrangements, four pot calliper brakes, a Kenlowe fan and a new synchro gearbox. The history file boasts numerous invoices attesting to the quality of the restoration and conversion, and included in the sale are the original E-Type 4.2 Owner's handbook, recent E-Type maintenance book, a weighty tome in itself, a copper hammer, jack and a wooden spinner remover. When purchased by Kevin, the car's fourth owner, it needed a certain amount of re-commissioning, having been in storage for some eight years. The car was carefully worked on by respected racing motor engineer and restorer Giles Beck who carried out a major service and fitted a new battery. A copy of his report can be found in the history file. He is quoted as saying "After eight years of storage I found this car to be in remarkable condition which is testament to the superb restoration it has received. On a test drive I could find no faults. This is one of the best E Types I have driven."With restored Series 1 E-Types soaring past the £150,000 mark, this car offers the buyer an opportunity to own, drive and enjoy one of the very best examples on offer at a third of the price. The car will be presented at auction freshly serviced, and has an MoT until March 2016, ready for roof-down summer motoring or continental touring.

1995 Porsche 911 993 Coupe 1995 Porsche 911 993 Coupe

1995 Porsche 911 993 Coupe

Lot #546 (Sale Order 47 of 53)

The 993 was the last of the Porsche 911 range to feature air cooled flat six engines and they're viewed by many aficionados as the finest 911s ever produced. The 993's handling and overall driveability were markedly better than its predecessor, a product partly of a wider track but mainly as a result of the all alloy multi-link suspension set up, which replaced the traditional semi-trailing arms of previous iterations and no other 911 could demonstrate such high speed cornering stability. The transmission was improved with the arrival of a six-speed manual gearbox (a first for Porsche) which not only surpassed the previous four and five-speed gearboxes in usability, but was smoother and a lot more satisfying. Mechanically, the cross-drilled brakes were larger and a dual-flow exhaust system was fitted. Externally the bodywork was revised to give a more rounded style with wider rear arches, much prettier than its successor the 996 and a shape to which Porsche returned with the 997.This stunning example is finished in special order paint (F8 Midnight Blue Metallic) with the interior in Grey Leather. An original UK, Right Hand Drive and Manual Gearbox example, this lovely Porsche has been fastidiously maintained throughout its life, the last 15 years of which has been in the custodianship of our vendor.Cosmetically the car is in superb condition all round, and benefits from the paint on the wings, bumpers and doors being refreshed in 2006, to address the inevitable stone chips. The work was carried out by Porsche approved paint specialists Premier Body, who undertook this work to a factory standard and the colour blend is perfect.Showing 77,578 miles at the time of consigning, the car is presented with a fully detailed service history as can been seen below. This 993 has been maintained as per factory recommendations almost solely by Porsche Main Dealers except for two services by a local marque specialist. Most recently, in November 2014 the car received a major service, including belt replacement, and has covered a mere 150 miles since.22/8/95 - 12,911 - service by AFN Reading22/1/96 - 26,158 - service by AFN Reading31/10/96 - 39,341 - service by AFN Reading25/4/97 - 45,426 - service by Dick Lovett20/3/99 - 54,174 - service HR Owen, St. Albans 29/11/99 - 55,279 - service by Portiacraft, new flywheel and clutch23/2/00 - 56,194 - service (48k) at Arlington Porsche, Northampton27/4/01 - 59,045 - service, Arlington Porsche, Northampton. 1986 Ford Sierra Rs Cosworth 1986 Ford Sierra Rs Cosworth

1986 Ford Sierra Rs Cosworth

Lot #547 (Sale Order 48 of 53)

Surely one of the motor industries best kept secrets, the Sierra Cosworth Road Sport was an affordable, high performance saloon with lower production numbers than its Sapphire and 4x4 cousins. Despite motorsport being in its DNA, the RS Cosworth is versatile and usable and these cars are swiftly becoming collectors pieces with values climbing accordingly. The result of a Ford Motorsport project aimed at producing a winning European group A car, the RS is equipped with a YBB 16 valve, twin cam engine with the road going version producing around 204bhp. This power was transmitted through a Mustang 5 speed gearbox and the suspension, chassis and aerodynamics were all developed using race technology. The commitment to creating a legitimate, race winning car is evident in the bodywork and styling, with the large rear wing designed to ensure stability at speeds in excess of 300km/h and the openings between the headlights creating a good airflow to the intercooler.First registered in 1986, this LHD example, offered in Moonstone blue with a matching deep blue interior, has been very well maintained as is evident from its super condition.Showing just 112,000kms (approx. 69,500 miles) overall, the car appears to be very original and untouched and even retains its original exhaust system. The vehicle comes with all its manuals and a great service history, indicating that it has had a recent extensive service and that the Cambelts have been replaced in the last 12 months. At this guide price, this purposeful Cosworth surely looks excellent value in today's market, and an opportunity to own and enjoy something special from the Eighties.

1930 Austin Chummy 1930 Austin Chummy

1930 Austin Chummy

Lot #548 (Sale Order 49 of 53)

From the collection of retired professional rally driver Kevin Videan.During the 1970s Kevin Videan competed in a number of national and international rallies, as a works driver for Datsun he helped to establish the Datsun 240Z as a legendary rally car and in his personal Porsche Carrera RS lightweight, Kevin won the 1977 Gremlin Motoring News Rally. In later life Kevin established a small, but perfectly formed collection of best of breed British motor cars. We have the honour of offering three of Kevin's motor cars at this sale and this immaculate Austin Chummy, named Bluebell by her former owners, a family ownership of some forty five years, is beyond doubt one of the finest examples of the Chummy available today. The Austin 7 was produced in many guises from 1922 to 1939 and was the first truly affordable mass-produced vehicle of British design and manufacture. The importance of the heritage of the Austin 7 cannot be overstated as without it the Austin company would have financially failed and the inter-war population would have been deprived of the chance of owning their first motor car. In fact, several well-known companies might not have succeeded if they had not been able to become licensed manufacturers of the design. The first BMW was an Austin 7, known as a Dixi in Germany, and in Japan, Nissan based their first cars on it. The Swallow version of the Austin 7 laid the foundations of the Jaguar Car Company. So with the formalities over with, please allow us to introduce Bluebell. Her birth certificate has her registered on the 28th March 1930, giving her age as a, not inconsiderable, eighty-five. In keeping with many starlets of the inter-war era Bluebell was beginning to show her age during the 1990s and her family decided, that after a couple of decades of ownership, she should get the restoration she deserved. They embarked on a thirteen year, full body off, journey of restoration using the best Austin specialists available including Roach Engineering. The engine and running gear were worked on by Mac Bonar working with Sutton Rebores, who re-bored the engine and fitted new pistons, new valve guides and valves and a high volume oil pump. The radiator was re-cored by Anglia Radiators, the chassis components were shot blasted and the wheels were rebuilt and zinc coated by James Wheldon, using new rims and spokes. In keeping with cars of this vintage the electrical components required upgrading to 21st century demands. A 12-volt conversion was skilfully carried out, enabling Bluebell's re-silvered headlamps with original glass to shine brightly. The 12-volt conversion was so skilfully done that only an expert can tell it has been done at all. Bluebell also features many period details such as an extra wing-mounted Shell livery can, a spare Shell liveried oil container, a bulb horn, a genuine baby Klaxon horn, wing mirrors, luggage rack and fire extinguisher among many others. Of particular note is the spare plug container made of solid brass that holds a set of Lodge plugs and carries an inscription of the car's name and restoration details. When Kevin took ownership in 2008 he wanted to improve Bluebell's interior, and although the PVC interior was skilfully done, he wanted a touch more luxury to complement the extraordinary bodywork. Commissioning renowned upholsterer Kerry Colson, the interior re-trim took a month with a final bill of £4,000. Bluebell now has one of the finest Chummy interiors, if not the finest available. Bluebell's history file has been carefully collated by her family of forty-five years, and contains among others, a 1945 logbook, a raft of old MoTs and extensive invoices. When the restoration and full engine rebuild was complete the odometer was zeroed, as is common, and at the time of consignment it reads approximately 4,100 miles. A memorable occasion early on in Kevin's custodianship of Bluebell, was the Austin Seven London to Brighton Run in 2009, and the car is ready and willing to join future rallies. Bluebell will be presented at auction freshly serviced and with a clean bill of health, otherwise known as an MoT.

1942 Ford Gpw 'willys' Jeep 1942 Ford Gpw 'willys' Jeep

1942 Ford Gpw 'willys' Jeep

Lot #549 (Sale Order 50 of 53)

When E.C. Seagar created his famous cartoon character "Popeye" in 1936, and surrounded him with a cast of characters, one of whom was called "Eugene the Jeep", he could never have imagined that the term "Jeep" would be in common use, world wide, some eight decades later.Eugene the Jeep was Popeye's "jungle pet" and was "small, able to move between dimensions and could solve seemingly impossible problems", characteristics shared by the General Purpose (GP) vehicle issued to American combat soldiers fighting on the front lines in war-torn Europe. Having been brought up on a diet of Popeye cartoons it was not surprising that this tough little vehicle, which would frequently get them out of some real "scrapes", became affectionately know as a Jeep.Impressively the time taken from conception and tenders being sent out, to the production lines starting to roll, was less than two hundred days, amazing for a vehicle that has stood the test of time and become an unlikely motoring icon. This ability to get things done quickly and well, was the deciding factor in America being asked to produce military hardware in vast numbers and build hundreds of ships, arguably influencing the outcome of the Second World War.As the war progressed Willys-Overland produced over 300,000 Jeeps and the Ford Motor Co. was drafted in to help boost production and contributed over 250,000 units. Ford manufactured Jeeps were recognizable by their pressed steel grilles as opposed to the Willys' slat grille style.Considering the manner in which the Jeep was conceived and its role in warfare, it's remarkable that most of the finest classic car collections will include a Willys or Ford WWII Jeep, making the restored example offered here a candidate for serious consideration should one of these yardstick cars have, so far, eluded you. This excellent and rare, Ford built, GPW Jeep was imported in to the UK in 2012 having been fastidiously restored by the president of the Ford GPW owners club in the USA and is a consummate piece of military history.A USB drive included with the cars history file documents the restoration. Every nut and bolt received attention and the detail is fantastic, even down to the period tools and heavy-duty towrope attached to the vehicle.Every rural car show in the country now has a section for Military Vehicles, and with WW2 re-enactments and the prestigious classic car meetings all clamouring for 1940's Jeeps, this stunningly well restored example could keep you busy all Summer.

1963 Lotus Super Seven Series 2 1500 Cosworth 1963 Lotus Super Seven Series 2 1500 Cosworth

1963 Lotus Super Seven Series 2 1500 Cosworth

Lot #550 (Sale Order 51 of 53)

The Lotus Seven is a small, simple, lightweight two-seater open-top sports car produced by Lotus Cars (initially called Lotus Engineering) between 1957 and 1972.It was designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman, and has been considered the embodiment of the Lotus philosophy of performance through low weight and simplicity. The original model was highly successful with more than 2,500 cars sold, partly because of its attraction as a road legal car that could be used for Clubmans racing, but mainly because it was such fun.The original Seven was designed in 1952 as a potential Riley engined Formula Two car for the 52/53 season but the project was later abandoned. However, after the Lotus Eleven entered limited production in 1957, the Seven was resurrected in the form that we all came to know and love. The Lotus Seven S2 followed in 1960 and was supplemented by the Lotus Super Seven S2 from 1961. The Super Seven initially used the larger Cosworth modified 1340cc Ford Classic engine and later examples were fitted with 1498cc or 1599cc engines. The general layout of the Lotus Seven design has spawned a host of imitations on the kit car market, generally called Sevens or sevenesque roadsters. Many of those cars are still produced to this day. This 1963, Lotus Super Seven Series 2, is powered by a 1498cc Ford Pre-Crossflow Cosworth engine. Presented in good condition, this car has recently returned from the States where, we are told, the last owner enjoyed his little Lotus for some 31 years. The car was restored in the 1990s, with we are led to believe, the engine, transmission and gearbox being rebuilt. At some point all the aluminium panelling was removed from the chassis and the chassis blasted, checked carefully, and painted before the car was re-panelled. Most of the panelling was replaced, apart from the rear quarter which was still in good order and the rest of the car painted and generally tidied. So pleased was the owner with the result, that the car was then subsequently promoted to a heated studio and used sparingly.Over the years, with the very nature of the Seven, owners will change things to suit their own requirements, however the vendor believes this car to be particularly original and correct, with the ultra rare early instruments, the original stamped Serek 5 ½ gallon fuel tank and the proper carburettor as fitted.Supplied with a Lotus Certificate of Provenance, V5c and a fresh MoT certificate issued before the sale, this car must be of consideration if you are interested in a Chapman designed car that inspired a generation..

2000 Ferrari 360 Modena Coupã© 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena Coupã©

2000 Ferrari 360 Modena Coupã©

Lot #551 (Sale Order 52 of 53)

In 1999, Ferrari knew that it was time to replace their much loved 355. The 360 was introduced to critical acclaim and immediately set a new benchmark for supercar styling and performance. The 360 Modena design was revolutionary by making extensive use of lightweight materials in its construction resulting in a much lighter car along with increased rigidity. Ferrari also paid particular attention to improving the under-body aerodynamics using knowledge gained from their F1 programme and the 360 boasts a completely flat bottom with two prominent rear diffusers. The 3586cc engine produced a staggering 400bhp resulting in a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. Pininfarina produced an exceptionally clean, low drag profile without the need for additional wings, flares or blisters. Another striking feature is the large glass rear screen that proudly displays the engine in all its glory. Introduced at the Geneva Show in March 1999 the 360 Modena, not unsurprisingly, swelled Ferraris order books and within weeks there was a two-year waiting list.On offer here is an elegant LHD Ferrari 360 Modena with F1 gearbox finished in Grigio Grey with Black leather interior. The car is in excellent condition all round and has only covered 48,500kms (approx. 30,000mls).The history file is impressive containing a fully stamped Ferrari Service book and also copies of invoices which appear to cover most, if not all the work undertaken on the car. Recently the car has been subject to a rebuild of its F1 Gearbox, a replacement clutch and also a full cambelt service. The service history of the car is as follows:08/06/2000 - pdi - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari23/08/2001 - 12730kms - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari12/06/2003 - 17463kms - Garage de l'athénée Ferrari - Cambelt Service05/09/2007 - 29075kms - SYMBOL automobile SA Ferrari - Cambelt Service30/05/2011 - 37866kms - SYMBOL automobile SA Ferrari - Cambelt Service16/01/2012 - 40654kms - SYMBOL Automobile SA Ferrari25/07/2014 - 43892kms - Garage Zenith Ferrari - Cambelt ServiceWe tip these cars to become real future classics and being a genuinely usable supercar, combined with striking good looks and dramatic performance what more could you want?

1969 Mercedes-benz 280 Sl Pagoda 1969 Mercedes-benz 280 Sl Pagoda

1969 Mercedes-benz 280 Sl Pagoda

Lot #552 (Sale Order 53 of 53)

The Mercedes 280SL 'Pagoda' was introduced in December 1967 and continued in production through until February 1971. The W113 was then replaced by its successor, the entirely new and substantially heavier R107 350SL. Over the years, the W113 evolved from a ‘sports car' into a comfortable ‘grand tourer', and was usually equipped with the 4-speed automatic transmission and air conditioning. The obvious difference from its predecessor was the upgrade to the 2778cc M130 engine, which purists will tell you finally gave the Pagoda adequate power. Now suitably refined, the car proved popular in the US market, however, we've seen a significant increase in demand here in the UK - not least due to its predecessor, the 50's 190SL, rising beyond the budgets of many. This example is a beautifully renovated 1969 Pagoda 280 SL automatic. The restoration was undertaken by Byprof in Denmark and the work was carried out to a very high standard. The following parts were replaced during the renovation: complete new exhaust, oil and filters in the engine and gearbox, headlights, tail, brake lines, fuel lines, brake callipers renovated and rear brake pads and rear hand brake cables, springs, front wheel bearings, rear fenders, carpets, seat covers (MB tex), new soft top, battery, speedometer serviced and converted to km, the clock renovated, and all new rubber seals and bearings in the generator.Over 1,000 man-hours have been spent on these recent improvements and it shows. This attractive and desirable 280 SL is supplied with a Danish MoT certificate and is taxed for road use. This car will be driven by a Silverstone Auctions employee and potential purchasers are welcome to contact the office for a fair description of this car's condition and photo/paperwork. This Pagoda is described as driving really well. 280 SL Pagodas are one of the most popular and practical classic cars money can buy and, judging by this example, we can certainly see why.
