General Info Lot #0 (Sale Order 1 of 473) This lot is not for sale. Welcome to our Mega Gem and Jewelry Auction. These are the best of our pieces, liquidated from various estates, jewelry stores and wholesale dealers. Most gemstones bought and sold online aren't jewelry grade -- either poorly cut, have too many inclusions or are low grade color. Of the gems considered to be jewelry grade, many still have one or more issues which disqualify them from being the centerpiece of a fine ring or pendant. All loose gemstones in this auction are top jewelry grade, meaning that they meet all the qualifications to be used as the center stones for high end jewelry. All gems sold in this auction are natural, mined from the earth gemstones. We do our best to fully describe these gems, as well as any treatments they may have. We don't try to pass off synthetics as the real thing. There are a lot of companies out there selling synthetics as genuine gemstones, so be careful where you buy. All of our gems are checked by a gemologist, and most have slight natural inclusions of some kind, verifying that they're real. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Ben, our gemologist prior to bidding.

The wood is not dyed or treated in any way. Just finished with an old world oiling that brings out the full richness and beauty of the wood. There literally isn't another knife like this on the planet. It's completely unique. The company that produces these knives has made very few and have allowed us to represent them with a few select pieces at auction. This would make a great gift for the special chef in your life.

This gemstone is jewelry grade, and is ready to be used as the center stone for a piece of high end jewelry. We sell thousands of carats of gemstones per month. 21.20 Carat Fancy Pear Cut Amethyst with Independant Appraisal Lot #461 (Sale Order 462 of 473) Gorgeous Amethyst with an exceptional cut. Just a fantastic stone. Perfect color and clarity also. This gemstone comes with the pictured appraisal certificate from a GIA Graduate Gemologist in the San Diego Jewelry District. For those who don’t know how appraisal values are determined, they are done in two ways. Some appraisers assign a retail value, whereas others give a replacement value. As you can see, the appraisal value for this piece is a replacement value, meaning that it’s the value it would cost an insurance company to replace the item. And because insurance companies use wholesalers to replace lost or damaged goods, replacement values are considered wholesale, generally around 50% of a retail value. That means that this stone, in a jewelry store, would sell in the range of $1,000. And as you can see, the price we are asking is well below even the wholesale replacement value.
