Factory engraved, Texas shipped Colt, Single Action Army Revolver with carved steer head grips, SN 3 Lot #124 (Sale Order 128 of 312) Factory engraved, Texas shipped Colt, Single Action Army Revolver with carved steer head grips, SN 324641 matches on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the last four digits properly marked on the back of the cylinder. This Revolver is accompanied by a Colt Archive Letter that confirms its characteristics as a .45 caliber, 4 3/4" barrel, nickel finish, with stocks listed as "Pearl with carved steer head motif". It was shipped to Preager Hardware Co., in San Antonio, TX. on November 25, 1912 in a shipment of 2 of the same type guns. The revolver has since been renickled and retains most of the applied finish. As is common, the markings were weakened during the polishing as part of the restoration although the engraving remains reasonably strong. The action functions properly and the bore is fair with minor roughness. The original carved pearl grips fit perfectly and are original to the gun. The nose of the steer head was chipped many years ago and has worn the rough edges smooth. These grips also have the correct deep set medallions. (MOD)

Original U.S. Civil War Sharps New Model 186, Military Vertical Breech Carbine. This is a very nice Lot #248 (Sale Order 254 of 312) Original U.S. Civil War Sharps New Model 186, Military Vertical Breech Carbine. This carbine has a nice gray patina with traces of blue and case colors on the metal components, with significant case color in the loading throat. Bore has clear lands and grooves and very minimal oxidation. The wood stocks fit perfectly and have very minor bumps and dings. Many of these were later converted to .50-70 Government, so it is rare to see one in the original .52 caliber configuration.
