Marks: Madame Alexander New York (cloth tag on costume). The doll is wearing her original pale orange organdy dress with brown edging on the ruffles, one-piece cotton slip and panties socks, shoes, and woven bonnet with brown edging. Near mint condition, slight eye fading. Madame Alexander, 1936, the dimple-cheeked doll was marketed as "Marcella", designed to capture the Shirley Temple market whose license was held by the competitive doll firm of Ideal, and is presented in her original early box indicating the costume color as orange.

Included is dark brunette-haired Jo with blue pique gown and flowered pinafore; light brunette-haired Beth with pink gown and attached striped pinafore; dark blonde-haired Meg with red checkered gown; and light blonde-haired Amy with whiter organdy gown and blue patterned overlay. Each doll has original cloth tag on costume indicating name of doll and "Little Women Madame Alexander", The dolls are presented in original presentation box with label "Little Women" and with gilt paper name label on each doll. Madame Alexander, the doll depicts "The Little Colonel", 1935, Advertisements for the doll noted that this was the "only authentic Little Colonel doll", created with exclusive permission of the heirs of the author, Anne Fellows Johnston. The doll was released to coincide with the release of the same Shirley Temple film of that year for which Alexander did not have the license.

The doll, itself, was commissioned from a generic firm while the costumes, box with pencil note "45 Betty", and marketing were issued by Madame Alexander. Few examples exist of this model.

Mike and Ruby have original cloth tags with their name and "Madame Alexander"; and Jacquinot has cloth tag "Peeky Pook/Madame Alexander" and is in original blue and red box with original label and hand-lettered "Jacquinot". Extremely Rare Bronze Plaque from "The Hospital for Dionne Quintuplets" 500/1000

Of very heavy cast bronze, the plaque was mounted on the exterior wall of the Doctor Dafoe hospital for the Dionne Quintuplets, erected September 1934, forming an aspect of the exhibition halls for the celebrity children. Excellent condition, the unique piece has great historical significance. Ex-collection Rodolfo Dionne Museum.
