**Auction Highlight** Morgan & Peace $1 Mixed Roll Steel Strong Shotgun Wrapper w/Covered Ends (fc) Lot #96 (Sale Order 71 of 479) ***Auction Highlight*** Morgan & Peace $1 Mixed Roll Steel Strong Shotgun Wrapper w/Covered Ends. Great Original Roll of Morgan & Peace Dollars. The Two ends are covered. Any dates & any condition possible inside. Note you will receive a roll completely similar to the photo. We have a large hoard of these rolls & they all look exactly alike. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Some lucky bidders have gotten key dates & PL's. The roll is held in an old "Steel Strong Automatic" Wrapper Dated from 1921. The Roll is also faintly stamped "Banker Trust of Philadelphia, Central City Office, Walnut Street at Juniper". I researched that name and the Bank closed in the post-Crash of '29 Depression period (my research showed that it failed on Dec 22, 1930). We received this incredible consignment from a private collector. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins.

1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar Lot #106 (Sale Order 77 of 479) 1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar. In 1964, just when the mint was removing 90% silver coins from circulation, and the us was having a coin shortage, the Mint announced that beginning in 1965, no Proof Sets, or Mint Sets would be produced, Instead they would be making a Special Mint Set. Special Mint Set coins were not proofs, and were not uncirculated, Mint State pieces. Dies for the coins were over polished, while the planchet themselves were not polished. The resulting SMS coins have a brilliant, proof like appearance, much nicer than the run-of-the-mill circulation coins. In 1965 these sets were released in the Traditional Mint Cellophane and White Envelope and in 1966 and 1967 they were packaged in hard, pale blue plastic holders. Note, the set contains a 40% Half Dollar.

***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1889 & 'cc', Better than average circ (fc) Lot #241 (Sale Order 171 of 479) ***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1889 & 'cc', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1893, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far. Your choice to open the shotgun roll or leave it as is, but if you do open the Roll, please let us know what you find. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away lot.

**Star Note 1957 $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++ Lot #256 (Sale Order 185 of 479) **Star Note 1957 $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf++. When notes are discovered that have been printed incorrectly (such as having the serial numbers upside down, etc.) the misprinted "error notes" are replaced with star notes because no two bills within a certain series can be produced with the same serial number. They are used to maintain a correct count of notes in a serial number run. By their nature, star notes are more scarce than notes with standard serial numbers and as such are widely collected by numismatists. Some of the highest prices paid for modern (post-1928) U.S. banknotes have been for star notes. The note itself is a Silver Certificate. They were redeemable in Silver. One of their most distinctive qualities is the blue Treasury seal and serial numbers. These notes include an additional legend printed on the face that is not present on any other Federal Reserve notes. The legend states that Silver had been deposited in the Treasury and was payable on demand to the note’s bearer.

1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar without OGP Lot #330 (Sale Order 235 of 479) 1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar without OGP.

***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1879 & 'cc', Better than average circ (fc) Lot #344 (Sale Order 244 of 479) ***Auction Highlight*** Morgan dollar roll ends 1879 & 'cc', Better than average circ. Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1879 that's near unc, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. **Star Note 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf+ Lot #352 (Sale Order 250 of 479) **Star Note 1957B $1 Blue Seal Silver Certificate Grades vf+.

Terrific example of this Key Date, One year type coin. The 1859 is the first year of the series, and the only year to not have the shield reverse. The 1859 is highly sought and has terrific cross collectibility. It is needed for collectors of the Indian cent; the Copper Nickle cent, date set collectors and collectors of one year type coins. This increases this coins scarcity among collectors. This particular example is well struck with good eye appeal and is in near gem condition. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away Coin

1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar without OGP Lot #450 (Sale Order 315 of 479) 1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar without OGP.

1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades vf+ Lot #486 (Sale Order 339 of 479) 1935A $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades vf+. 1935a $1 Silver Certificate Hawaii, Signatures of Julian & Morgenthau Grades. It was the darkest days of World War II, just after Pearl Harbor. Everybody in Hawaii was sitting on pins and needles. Were the Japanese preparing a massive invasion of the islands? If they did invade, they could use the millions of dollars in currency on the islands to buy war material. To thwart this, these $1 Federal Reserve Notes were sent to the islands. Each has a large HAWAII printed on the reverse. If the Japanese did invade, the currency would be demonetized. After the threat passed, most of these "Hawaii" Notes were destroyed. Today they're hard to find.

***RARE 1998 US Mint Silver Uncirculated 2 pc. Kennedy Collector Set with Box Modern Commem Dollar Lot #488 (Sale Order 341 of 479) ***RARE 1998 US Mint Silver Uncirculated 2 pc. Kennedy Collector Set with Box Modern Commem Dollar $1. The Rarest Kennedy Half Dollar
The Kennedy Half Dollar is one of America's most popular coins - so popular that even though the US Mint hasn't released one into circulation in 10 years, they still strike one.
The King of the Hill
If you ask Kennedy Collectors what is the "Rarest" Kennedy Half Dollar you may be surprised at the answer. Some will say the Satin Finish special releases available only in Mint Sets between 2005 to 2010. Others will say Proofs, others the Silver Proofs - all of them were made with extremely small mintage figures. But the King is a special issue made in 1998 and only sold as part of a 2-coin collection with the Silver Dollar made to commemorate his brother Robert F Kennedy.
Miniscule Mintage
With typical mintages for the P & D issues placed into circulation at 20 to 30 million coins it's easy to see why the above coins would be possibilities with the lowest of each type at 500,000 coins or less. But what if I told you there was one that had only 63,500 made ... a Silver Matte Finish specimen half dollar. I believe both coins will grade ms70. Actually PCGS grades the matte proof as SP70. A very difficult coin to find. PCGS has Graded 1 of every 13 coins received for grading ms70. PCGS Price Guide Lists this set in 70 at $900. Estimated Value $650

1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar without OGP Lot #490 (Sale Order 342 of 479) 1966 Special Mint Set 40% Silver Half Dollar without OGP.

1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc Lot #495 (Sale Order 346 of 479) 1927-p Peace Dollar $1 Grades Select Unc. The 27-p is the big sleeper of numismatics in my opinion. It has the 2nd lowest mintage in the whole Peace dollar series. Lower than the 34-s, the 21-p, yet it does not command its proper value. Good coin to own multiple of and save, in my opinion, but if you've been coming to our auctions for a while you will have seen that this has always been my opinion. semi key date

Great Original Roll of Morgan Dollars. The Two ends showing are the obverse of an 1892, and the other end has a 'cc' Carson City Mint Reverse. We received this incredible consignment from a private collector while at the Baltimore show. The consignee gave us his father's entire estate hoard of shotgun rolled coins. We have had great feedback on the rolls so far.
