When wound, she lifts the tea cup to her mouth as though about to drink, and her eyes open and close while jaw hinges open. Mechanism functions albeit willfully, retouch to facial painting. Bisque socket head with alternate faces on front and back, one face depicting a crying child (Jumeau model 211) and the other face depicting a smiling child (Jumeau model 203) . The head is enclosed in a cardboard hood and the faces can be alternately hidden or revealed by means of turning knob at top of her head; with original blonde mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, antique costume, signed Jumeau shoes. Generally excellent. Jumeau/SFBJ, circa 1899, rare model with beautiful characterization, fine quality bisque, original body and body finish.
