Each has solid domed paper mache head with painted pale complexion and facial features, blue eyes, thick dark upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, blonde mohair wig, cloth body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Good condition, original painted finish, larger has some wear to hands and some costume repair. Designed by Jean Ray for Lang & Guillemaut, and presented in the Parisian department store of Au Bon Marche in 1921, wearing original fashionable costumes.

Extreme craquelure on original finish of head and shoulders, knees re-attached. Grodnertal, early 1800s. The doll is featured in the book, Fascinating Dolls, by Samy Odin on page 15 described as a "perfect example of ingenuity and sophistication".

Firmly-stuffed all-brown leather doll has stitched-on leather cover over muslin form, shaped facial features including nose, chin and tiny mouth, defined neck, cut-out eye sockets with applied pupils, painted brows, black wiry hair, hand-stitched leather body. Generally excellent. For the French market, late-19th century, the doll was designed to represent native women of the French Martinique Islands. An article about the dolls appeared in the French journal L'Illustration at that time. An exhibit of these rare dolls was shown in the Musee de la Poupee in Paris.

Marks: Eden Bebe Paris 11 Depose (head) 11 (body). Very fine imperceptible retouch on upper right temple over faint hairline, otherwise bisque excellent, hands not original. Circa 1900.

Excellent condition. France, Urika, Poupee d'Art Flexible Made in France the dolls were presented as Bamboula and Bambouli, made by Urika of France, late 1940s.

All felt doll with stitched on head, amber complexion, painted features, stitch-jointing at hips and shoulders, and wearing original vibrant felt costume in the Asian style with applique designs and symbols. Maker uncertain, possibly Lenci from early 1920s. Face is repainted, a repair to felt at back of head, costume very good with some dustiness.

Jumeau, circa 1900, rare model with original signed body, signed Jumeau shoes. The doll is holding a bisque head doll in original silk jester costume, marked "Mon Tresor", (excellent bisque, wear to body).

And young boy with sculpted brown hair and smiling expression, loop-jointed bisque arms and legs, painted shoes and socks, circa 1910, generally excellent.
