1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda

1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda

Lot #F204 (Sale Order 4 of 65)

  • •Forest green with a tan top & Bamboo interior •2 door convertible with hard top •1 owner •Very low mileage with all service records •Rare manual transmission •Original & unrestored •Most desirable colors The first model, the 230SL, was a comfortable, well-equipped and compact two-seat sports touring machine that provided better performance than the 190SL. Instantly recognizable by virtue of their unique and strong detachable hardtop design, the cars were colloquially known as “pagodas”. The Mercedes-Benz W113 had a distinctive look and was manufactured from 1963 through to 1971 and featured a peppy little fuel injected 2.3 litre straight six engine. The larger capacity 280 was introduced in 1967 and remained largely unchanged until 1971 when the W107 model appeared in the dealer showrooms. This Pagoda originated from America and just last year underwent a very comprehensive restoration. The whole body was sandblasted and painted. In addition to paint, new suspension parts were fitted and the braking system overhauled. The interior is said to be original and in great condition throughout. The pagoda hardtop and soft-top convertible roof are also said to be in good condition. The seller states that the manual gearbox operates perfectly, the engine is in good order and is keen to point out that the air conditioning functions correctly. With all the recent work done on this, the most desirable of the W113 models, it represents very good value indeed and would be a delightful driver for its lucky new owner that you can drive and enjoy it today!

1969 Jaguar E-Type 1969 Jaguar E-Type

1969 Jaguar E-Type

Lot #F220 (Sale Order 20 of 65)

  • 1969 Jaguar E-Type This car was gifted to twin brothers for their 16th birthday in 1989 by their father, a Jaguar collector in Plano, TX. He purchased the car in 1988 and had the car repainted and the interior redone prior to presenting it to his sons. The original color was green; however, the car was yellow with tan interior when he bought it. The brothers decided they wanted the car white with black interior, so it was redone to their choice. The lacquer paint used was a correct Jaguar color. In 1994 the engine was rebuilt and the engine compartment painted to match the car. Since 1994, the car has traveled less than 3500 miles and the current odometer reading of just over 25,000 miles is believed to be correct. When the E Type was introduced in 1961, Enzo Ferrari praised it as ‘the most beautiful car ever made.’ The London Telegraph agreed in 2008 ranking the E Type as number one on its list of "100 most beautiful cars." Soon after the car's debut one was placed into the Museum of Modem Art where it remains in the collection today. The coupe originally sold for $5895. The straight six twin overhead cam engine was the same type that gave Jaguar five victories at Le Mans in the 50s. The 1961 edition had 265 horsepower allowing the car a top speed of 150 mph, making it at the time the fastest production car in the world. Of the 72,520 E Types produced from 1961 -1975, just under 44,000 came to the U.S. This series 2 car is one of 4,855 coupes built from August 1968 – October 1970.

2003 BMW Z8 ALPINA

Lot #F224 (Sale Order 24 of 65)

  • 2003 BMW Z8 Alpina • Believed to be 12,204 original miles • No. 514 of 555 produced • 4.8/375 HP DOHC engine • Port fuel injections • Bosch Motronic engine control system • ZF 5-speed automatic transmission with Switchtronic manual mode • 20-inch Alpina wheels • Michelin Pilot Sport tires • Power 4-wheel disc brakes • Power windows, locks and seats • Silver with Black leather interior • Special Alpina stitching on the seats, numbered plaque, blue-face instruments, gear position display, door sill plates and softer shocks than the Z8 • Special pistons, rods and ports that were polished and matched by hand • Factory rated at 0-60 in 5 seconds and top speed of 161 MPH • Car cover Over the last 50 years, German specialty manufacturer Alpina partnered with BMW to capture numerous European and World Touring Car Championships before turning its attention to technical innovations and manufacturing generations of BMW Alpinas, in turn creating some of the most exclusive automobiles in the world. In 2003, the company worked its magic with an Alpina version of the exclusive BMW Z8 roadster. Straight out of the box, the Z8 is as impressive a Grand Touring machine as one would expect from BMW, combining the M5’s powerful port fuel-injected, dual overhead-cam 4.9L V-8 with a robust 6-speed manual transmission, superior handling and a stylish two-seater body that recalls the classic 1956 BMW 507 roadster. Alpina’s treatment began with swapping the Z8’s 4.9L engine for the 4.8/375 HP V-8 from the 5-series Alpina B10 V-8 S, a hand-built piece with Bosch Motronic computer controls, special pistons, rods and ports polished by hand, and its associated 5-speed ZF automatic with Switch-Tronic shift buttons and a special Alpina wire-spoke steering wheel. In keeping with Alpina’s practice of relaxing suspension settings for a more comfortable ride, the shocks are softer than standard Z8 units, and the wheels are 20-inch, 20-spoke Alpina alloys with low-profile Michelin Pilot Sport tires over power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes. The interior is minimally altered, but certainly Alpina in character with special seat stitching, gear position display and sill plates, a numbered plaque in place of the usual Z8 emblem and blue-faced instruments; power windows, locks and seats are standard. Finished in silver with a black leather interior and black top, this immaculate 2003 BMW Alpina roadster is No. 514 of 555 produced and has travelled 12,204 original miles. Credited with a factory rating of 0-60 MPH in 5 seconds and a limited top speed of 161 MPH, it offers one of the best driving experiences in the history of the BMW-Alpina partnership.

1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO

1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO

Lot #F225 (Sale Order 25 of 65)

  • 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 EVO • Rare factory GT2 EVO - 1 of 11 produced - The only one with a VIN and sold on a title • Top specification ever produced for any air cooled Porsche • Twin turbocharged 3.6L flat-6 engine • Factory rated at 600 HP and 490 ft/lbs torque • 6-speed manual transmission • One owner car • 7,000 original kilometers Porsche responded to the reorganization of international GT racing with a series of homologation specials beginning with the naturally aspirated 911 RS and culminating in the GT2 Evo. The lightweight RS set the basic template, using a non-turbo air-cooled flat-6 punched out to 3.8L and rated at 300 HP, bolt-on Turbo-style wheel-arch flares, larger brake discs clamped by 4-piston calipers and adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars. More obviously equipped for the track, the RSR incorporated a full roll cage, a front strut brace, an adjustable tail spoiler, 6-point harnesses and a fire extinguisher. The subsequent GT2 combined the RS/RSR's purity of purpose with a tuned version of the 993 Turbo's twin-turbocharged engine rated at 444 HP. Essentially a street legal race car, the GT2 sported an aggressive-looking front spoiler with upturned side winglets, wider bolt-on wheel flares and a huge rear spoiler with integrated air scoops. Using 2-wheel drive instead of the production Turbo's all-wheel system shaved even more weight, resulting in a top speed of almost 190 MPH and road-holding that bordered on the supernatural This exceptionally rare one-owner 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 Evo represented the top specification ever produced for any air-cooled Porsche. Designed to compete in FIA GT1, it incorporated a twin turbocharged 3.6L flat-6 engine rated at a full 600 HP and 490 lb-ft of torque. Porsche widened the rear fender extensions to cover wider modular wheels and added a new front spoiler with inlets for oil and brake cooling. A second deck appeared on the already outlandish rear spoiler, which could be mounted higher in the air stream for added downforce. Alas, by then the competition in GT1 had already left the Evo behind. Only 11 were ever built before Porsche moved onto the 996, making these cars among the rarest in the 911 racing lineage. With approximately 7,000 kilometers on the odometer, this GT2 Evo is exactly as it left the factory, an artifact from one of the most exciting periods in Porsche's racing history

1997 BMW PTG E36 M3 GTR

Lot #F228 (Sale Order 28 of 65)

  • 1997 BMW PTG E36 M3 GTR Chassis STC 95 020 1 of 6 Produced 1 of 3 that were 4 door 1998 USRRC Championship Car Driven by Numerous Notable Drivers Multiple Daytona, Sebring, Petit LeMans starts The ONLY Championship Winning Car in Private Ownership This car started life as a Super Touring car run by Raffanelli Racing in the Italian Super Touring series. Photos are on this page as the blue/red/ green Castrol car. From there it was provided as a rolling chassis to BMW TEAM PTG to be built to IMSA specs as their first four door M3 for Eduardo Pellerano. The car arrived at Las Vegas for the “SPORTSCAR” event in ‘97 as a silver car with a red, yellow and black German flag stripe waving down the car from front to rear using the #5. It was tested by Boris Said and John Paul Jr. It raced for the first time the following weekend at Pikes Peak with Pellerano and Paul Jr finishing 5th as M3s swept the top 5 positions. From there it went to Laguna and Sebring for the season finale. At Sebring it had an upright failure causing John Paul Jr to have a heavy crash at the hairpin. Pellerano decided he wanted out of his obligation and the car was bought back by PTG. The following year it was entered as a TEAM PTG car for Daytona and Sebring in plain silver #7. As there were now 2 series (USRRC and SPORTSCAR) this car would run the full USRRC calendar and select SPORTSCAR events as car #1. After the end of the USRRC season, PTG leased the car to Aspen knolls for the inaugural Petit LeMans as car#12 while entering their newest 4door chassis and using the #1. Ross Bentley would win several races and claim the USRRC title in this car and Bill Auberlin would be crowned the champion in SPORTSCAR in another chassis with BMW TEAM PTG taking the team title and BMW becoming the manufacturers champion. A great year indeed. Aspen Knolls would continue to run the car in USRRC in 99 and in GrandAm’s debut season in 2000 in either plain white early on and later with red and blue stripes and an offset BMW roundel. They recorded a 5th place finish at Daytona ‘99 as a highlight. After that, the car then sat in the PTG shop as E36 M3s were getting outdated against the new water-cooled Porsche R/ RS models. The last team to be running in GrandAm was Marcus Motorsports in one of the original 2door variants that PTG started with in ‘95. They were based in VA near the PTG shop. Tom Milner offered the car for sale and master craftsman Larry Hahn assured Steve Marcus he could rework the car into a winner. And he did. The chassis was reworked with a wider track front end, a huge 60mm swaybar that the steering arms encircle (see photos). At the rear, the swaybar was moved into the trunk, the wheel tubs got raised and the chassis got pockets for the upper control arms to ride in. All of this allowed the car to sit 1.5” lower without tire rub or disturbing the suspension geometry. The radiator was layed out almost flat and the hood was louvered to let the air escape. At the rear was a full width proper carbon wing unlike the original horseshoe wing that was required by BMW in earlier years. That and the addition to a big valve 3.4 litre engine that put out just over 410 hp made the car a front runner. The car ran as it appeared in Aspen knolls livery briefly and then was painted in PTG’s much loved “stars and stripes” that was used at petit ‘01. Marcus and team finished 7th at Daytona in ‘03 and would run up front all year with a win at Mid Ohio always running as #69. They ultimately finished 2nd in the championship to... Bill Auberlin driving a Ferrari! Notable drivers are: John Paul JR, Boris Said, Mark Simo, Bill Auberlin, David Donahue, Derek Hill, Ross Bentley, Peter Cunningham, Marc Duez, Pete Halsmer, Randy Pobst, Shane Lewis, Andy Pilgrim, David Murry, Brian Cunningham, Hugh Plumb and Craig Stanton. The car was used extensively in HSR in 04/05 and 06. Then it was sold the Greg Galdi who owns an enviable BMW collection. It was then bought back from him in 2016 and restored to its 98 Championship livery.

1969 LAMBORGHINI MIURA S 1969 LAMBORGHINI MIURA S

1969 LAMBORGHINI MIURA S

Lot #F231 (Sale Order 31 of 65)

  • 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S Auction Estimate $1.5M - $2.2M • Same owner since 1971 • Original Paint • Original Pirelli CN12 tires • VIN #3802 Engine #2541 Production #277 • The second True Miura S produced out of 140 • The only clear rear louvered Miura known Close your eyes and imagine that it’s 1980 something. You are cruising through the countryside in your ’69 Miura S, the Rolling Stones jamming on the cassette player. You come up your long, dusty driveway, past the cornfields, and pull into your old open barn. You shut her off, get out and close the barn door behind you. More than 30 years later a gentleman in Florida was surfing the web for interesting and unique cars, when he happened upon an ad that piqued his interest. The picture and the description just didn’t match, so he called the number. The seller didn’t have any accurate information; claiming it was a “one-off 1967 Lamborghini SS” which as the gentleman knew, didn’t exist. A few more cell phone pictures later, and he realized what it was he was looking at… a Miura. The owner had bought it 1971. Although it is unclear exactly what year it was parked, judging by the 28k miles on the odometer, and the last known registration, it looks like sometime around 1985. It was still exactly as it was the day it was parked in that barn. It had the original paint, the original Pirelli CN12 tires, the original plastic cap on the clutch reservoir – everything, untouched, unchanged for almost 30 years. They say that actual Barn finds are made of myths and legends; this, however, is the real deal. Within hours the paperwork was done, and a deposit was sent. A few days later, he was driving past those same cornfields, up that same dusty drive, to that same old barn. And when he swung the door open, he could hardly believe his eyes. There, amongst years of discarded junk, under a more than an inch of dust, sat a 1969 Lamborghini Miura S. The Rolling Stones cassette was still in the cassette player. Literally untouched for almost 30 years. After being relocated from its hiding spot, the Miura was brought back to Florida where it sat in an art gallery, no longer covered in dust, but still original. It was then sold to a well know professional athlete where it has remained in his personal collection until now. This Miura S, born in 1969, was the second off the production line- #3802. A total of 140 were produced that year. Although its unclear how many remain, this is the earliest production Miura known. It is also the only one with clear louvers. It is more then just a car; It’s the original supercar. From it’s sleek, sexy lines to its tremendous speed, the Miura S will always be one of the most iconic cars in history. A wise man once said, ‘You can restore a car 100 times, but it can only be original once”. You can have your chance to own this iconic, original supercar as it crosses the block at the Amelia Island Select Auction presented by Hollywood Wheels, March 9 2018 in the Ballrooms at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation.

1975 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 Periscope

Lot #F233 (Sale Order 33 of 65)

  • 1975 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 ‘Periscope’ Auction Estimate $1.2M - $1.5M • Restored by world renowned Lamborghini expert, Bob Wallace; former Operations Director at Lamborghini • 1 of 150 built • 1 of the first cars featuring 'Periscope' rear-view mirrors built into the roof, hence the depression seen in the leading edge of the roof. • Ordered through Lamborghini concessionaire AGECO, and this LP400 was completed on April 11th 1975 at the Sant' Agata factory. • Adjustable suspension and original factory sport exhaust fitted. • Delivered new to Prince Bandar Bin Saud of Saudi Arabia, it remained within the Royal family for the first few years of its life. Dr. Terry Bennett, who acted as a private physician for the Royal family in the mid-to-late seventies, was a New Hampshire Ferrari Collector. At the end of his tenure in Riyadh, the family knowing his passion for cars, bestowed "1120088" upon him as a parting gift, and ensured that it was on a Boeing 747 bound for JFK. (A well-known Lamborghini authority spoke with Terry Bennett personally and he clarified the car's early history.) Bennett sold the car to Ohio-based renowned Ferrari collector Tom Stegman, who cared for the car thereafter and showed it at numerous events in the 1980s such as what was to become the Ault Park Concours D'Elegance. At the end of the 80s he sold it to a California collector of Ferraris who had it registered there. After 20 years it was acquired by the current owner; yet another Ferrari collector. The car has received a nut and bolt restoration and was brought back to its original color combination of Tahitian blue metallic over tan leather. The original color was discovered when the body was taken down to bare aluminum. The odometer shows less than 14000 original kilometers or under 8700 original miles.

Chief Engineer Rudi Uhlenhaut had conceived the Gullwing’s predecessor, the racing-purposed W194, the success of which led New York City automobile importer Max Hoffmann to guarantee a thousand orders from his American clientele for a road-going version. Uhlenhaut responded by marshaling what limited resources he had at his disposal to produce the Gullwing Coupe, which redefined the grand-touring automobile. The 300SL Roadster further refined the concept, with an increase in its 3.0L inline-6 from 8.55:1 to 9.5:1 compression, an improved cam and fourth-generation Bosch fuel injection combining for 250 HP. A new low-pivot rear independent suspension improved road holding, and plusher seating and increased luggage capacity made the roadster an all-around more comfortable performer. This lovely 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster is documented with a copy of the original build sheet that confirms its matching-numbers chassis, body, engine, 4-speed transmission and differential. Recently refinished in correct code-DB-534 Fire Engine Red, its original beige top and interior were also replaced with a new saddle leather interior and tan soft top accompanied by a well-fitting white-painted auxiliary hardtop. It has also received a mechanical sorting that included undercarriage detailing, new stainless-steel exhaust, new shocks and a new brake booster, all performed by a 300SL specialist. Fitted with European headlights, bumper guards and the original high-gloss chrome-plated wheels with painted centers, it includes a functional Becker Mexico radio, VDO in-dash clock, tool kit, jack and a reproduction owner’s manual. One of only 324 produced in 1958, this Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster’s beautiful cosmetics, superb mechanicals and documented matching numbers highly recommend it to the demanding collector.

1961 Porsche Tractor

Lot #F257 (Sale Order 55 of 65)

  • 1961 Porsche Jr Diesel Tractor • ‘The People’s Tractor’ • Meticulously & correctly restored • Restored by Heritage Motorcar Restoration in St. Pete FL • 1 cyl air cooled diesel • Complete mechanical restoration • Fully operational • A wonderful addition to any collection Porsche Tractors were officially built from 1956 until 1963 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Although the first prototype Porsche tractor, ”The Peoples Tractor” was designed and built by Dr. Porsche in the early 1930s. During the 30’s 40’s and 50’s Porsche had licensing agreements with other equipment manufacturers to build tractors using his designs and patents, those tractors were and painter agricultural green. In 1956 the well-recognized “Porsche Red” tractors began working the fields in Europe and eventually making their way to the United States. They had a very good reputation for dependability and serviceability. Thousands were sold in North America, plowing farm fields and crops across the US and Canada. Today Porsche tractors are very sought after, due to their rarity and collectability. There were four models to choose from, the Junior, Standard, Super and the Master, 14 hp, 25 hp, 38 hp, 50 hp respectively. Recent sales suggest a price range for nicely restored tractors in the 25K to 30 K range. This 1961 Porsche tractor was exquisitely restored by Heritage Motorcar Restoration (HMR) in St. Petersburg, Florida, renowned for their concours winning 356’s and quality workmanship. This Porsche “Junior” tractor underwent a no-expense spared complete nut and bolt, 100% restoration and is probably nicer than most concours finished show cars. The detail and correctness is impeccable. This museum quality tractor would be a great addition to any Porsche collection.

1987 Porsche 930 Turbo

Lot #F265 (Sale Order 63 of 65)

  • 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo •Rare Air Cooled 930 Turbo •14,300 actual miles •Black exterior •Power sunroof •Black partial leather interior •Steering wheel with raised hub •Heated sport seats •Power windows •Original Fuchs wheels •Unrestored •Manuals and tool kit •Window sticker The title of ultimate Porsche 911 has long belonged to the turbocharged 911s, known internally at Porsche as the 930. Debuting in 1975, the 930 stunned the world and redefined the term “supercar” with its true race-car engineering methods and high reliance on exceedingly technical engineering. A 1977 print ad for the 930 read simply, “The Instant Legend.” Way ahead of its time, it was a force to be reckoned with and was immediately recognized as one of the quickest and fastest cars on the planet, turning in 0-60 MPH times in the low 5-second range, which for the mid-1970s, was impossibly quick. Especially from a 6-cylinder engine. Another print ad for the 930 read, “Forever alter your standard of performance.” Over the years, through continual development, Porsche refined the 930, making it quicker, more agile and more refined. In the world of supercars, the 930 was and still remains one of the most desirable machines ever, with performance that is truly mind-boggling. A third print ad proclaimed, “One ride and you’ll understand why most rocket scientists are German.” These were, quite simply, cars that were faster than anyone thought possible at time. This particular 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo has covered a mere 14,300 miles from new and is presented in rare, highly sought-after black-on-black. The car presents magnificently and is complete with the raised-hub steering wheel, heated sport seats, power windows, power moonroof, original Fuchs wheels, manuals, tool kit and window sticker. The interior features partial leather upholstery and is in remarkable condition throughout. Truly a time-capsule car, this 930 will take you back to the days of big hair, neon lights and pastel colors. An inimitable part of automotive history, this black-on-black Turbo is ready to bring a bit of stoic performance absoluteness to any garage.
