AUCTION CURRENCY: MEXICAN PESOS -1965 – Ford Galaxie 500 Hard Top Coupe N de chasis Chassis N 5MEX66X106870 Registration Mexican Registration A fines de la década de 1950 Estados Unidos estaba en plena era espacial No es de extrañar que cuando Ford lanzó su nuevo modelo de lujo en 1959 se llamara Galaxie Disponible como un sedán o un convertible de 2 puertas y 4 puertas incluía motores de 6 cilindros en línea de 37L hasta un gigantesco V8 de 7L La 2 generación se introdujo en 1960 y en 1964 el elegante interior fue modificado considerablemente El exterior presentaba una apariencia más “esculpida” la razón es sencilla fue diseñado para hacer que el auto fuera más aerodinámico para el NASCAR Nuestro cupé hardtop Ford Galaxie fue construido en 1965 y entregado en México Permaneció en manos de su primer propietario durante unos cuarenta años antes de que su actual propietario lo adquiriera El automóvil se encuentra en buen estado general con una pintura verde claro un interior gris claro y el tapizado blanco La carrocería no muestra defectos El interior es remarcable el volante y el tablero han sido restaurados recientemente Nuestro Galaxie ha tenido un cuidado correcto y su motor 351CI V8 fue revisado recientemente Este ejemplar ha sido exhibido en muchos eventos entre ellos el Show clásico de Morelos durante 7 años Este cupé Galaxie 500 similar a los autos de carreras de Nascar es un clásico muy accesible Y además …nunca pasará de moda By the late 1950s America was well in the grip of rocket age No surprise then that when Ford launched its new topoftherange model in 1959 it was called the Galaxie Available as either a sedan or a convertible in twodoor and fourdoor form it came with a range of engines from a 37litre straight six to a humongous 7litre V8 The second generation was introduced in 1960 and by 1964 the interior trim was much altered The exterior featured a more sculpted look which was actually designed to make the car more aerodynamic for NASCAR Our Ford Galaxie hard top coupe was built in 1965 and delivered in Mexico It remained in the hands of the 1st owner for about forty years before its current owner acquired it The car is in good overall condition and has light green paintwork over light grey interior and white upholstery The body shows no sign of rust The interior is gorgeous the steering wheel end the dashboard have been remade recently Our Ford was properly maintained and its 351ci V8 engine was adjusted not long ago It has been exhibited in many events amongst them at the “Morelos Classic Show” for seven years This Galaxie 500 hard top coupe similar to the Nascar racecars is a very affordable classic It will never get old
