1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S

1997 Porsche 993 Carrera 4S

Lot #17 (Sale Order 17 of 61)

993 is the companyÍs internal name for the version of the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between late 1993 and early 1998, replacing the 964. Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches. The external design of the Porsche 993, penned by Englishman Toni Hatter, retained the basic bodyshell architecture of the 964 and other earlier 911 models, but with revised external panels, with much more flared wheelarches and a smoother front and rear bumper design, an enlarged retractable rear wing, teardrop mirrors, but keeping the doors and roof panels. The Carrera 4S and later Carrera S shared the Turbo modelÍs bodyshell, but housed the naturally aspirated Carrera engine in the rear. The 4S came with four-wheel drive, and retained the Turbo modelÍs larger brake discs with the characteristic red calipers. It could be described as a ñTurbo without the turbochargers and rear wingî, whereas the S was in all aspects a standard Carrera underneath (the wider rear fenders were compensated with 31 mm (1.2 in) wheel spacers). Both S models had slightly lowered suspension compared to standard Carrera models. This Porsche was supplied new in 1997, a year before the end of production for the 993, finished by the factory in a unique silver, said to be in perfect condition by the current owner. The 993 was given over to the Porsche Exclusive department, and added was the rare X51 3.8-litre engine, which in other words is a close relation to the 993 RS. The capacity went from 3,600cc to 3,746cc thanks to the increase in bore from 100mm to 102mm. With a long list of extras including turbo look body, built-in soft clutch, full leather and carbon options for the interior and many others, said to have cost around 60,000DM in 1997, this is very special car. 1984 PORSCHE 924 TURBO 1984 PORSCHE 924 TURBO

1984 PORSCHE 924 TURBO

Lot #19A (Sale Order 20 of 61)

The Porsche 924 is a luxury sports car which was produced by Porsche AG of Germany from 1976 to 1988. A two-door, 2+2 coupé, the 924 replaced the 914 as the company’s entry-level model, and was the model that finally retired the 912. In production terms, the 924 was the first Porsche model powered by a water-cooled, front-mounted engine although the similarly configured 928 was designed first. The front-engine, rear wheel drive arrangement was normal for most other manufacturers, but it was unusual for Porsche having previously only used mid- or rear-mounted engines of a boxer configuration, all of which had been air-cooled. It was the first Porsche to be offered with a fully automatic transmission. After the experience with the 911 Turbo, Porsche launches the 924 turbocharged version of the 1978 turbocharged version, often identified by its internal design code 931. The engine is powered by a KKK (no intercooler) turbine, its head is modified and many other details of the engine to ensure power and reliability (eg the different shape of the sky of the pistons brings the compression ratio to 7.5: 1). The result is a power of 170 hp (DIN) and a 25 kgm drive torque, which assure race performance (225 km / h, 0-100 km / h in just over 7 seconds). The use of the mechanics is such that these motors are hand-assembled directly in Stuttgart, with very low tolerances. To adjust the chassis to these new performance, the braking system (self-ventilating discs on all four wheels) and partly the trim (shock absorbers and anti-roll bar) were completely revised. A hydraulic clutch was also introduced. The only gear available for the 924 turbo was, for the whole production, the 5-speed ZF “dogleg” type 016 / Z. To increase the deportance at high speeds, the Turbo fitted as standard a small rubber spoiler at the rear of the rear window. As a rule, the 924 Turbo comes out on the European market with tires 185/70 R15 mounted on 6Jx15 light alloy wheels. The hub attachment differs from the aspirate (4×108) and is 5-holes, optionally it is possible have 16 “alloy wheels with larger tires. Externally, the Turbo model immediately stands out for the stain lids and the NACA socket on the front bonnet. With the launch of this model, Porsche gave the possibility to have painted bodywork in two different colors In 1981, the 924 Turbo was revised in mechanics: in particular, the KKK turbine is replaced with a larger one, able to better withstand the stresses and generally need less maintenance. The spark ignition is eliminated in favor of an electronic ignition system, which together with an increase in the compression ratio of 7.5: 1 to 8.5: 1 brings the power to 177 hp (DIN) and the torque to 25.5 kgm. In this configuration, the car is able to exceed 230 km / h. This fantastic 924 Turbo that we have in sale is in general good conditions. Finished in grey, it comes to the sale with its Italian registration papers.

1970 MERCEDES-BENZ 280SE 3.5 COUPE 1970 MERCEDES-BENZ 280SE 3.5 COUPE

1970 MERCEDES-BENZ 280SE 3.5 COUPE

Lot #20A (Sale Order 22 of 61)

The Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 coupe had its foundation in the W111 sedan that was introduced for 1960. Famous for their front and rear crumple zones and patented retractable seatbelts, this mid-range model showed an American styling influence in with its modest fins sprouting from the rear fenders. The coupe version (called 220 SE) was introduced for the 1961 model year, with a convertible following a few months later. This series was upgraded with a new six-cylinder motor as the 250 SE for 1966, then with another engine upgrade for 1968 as the 280 SE coupe. Then, for 1970, the 280 SE was joined by the 280 SE 3.5 with a new OHC V8 – the first eight for this series. The 3.5 was the last improvement for the series before it was redesigned for 1972. With 200 horsepower, it was capable of hitting 62 mph in 9.5 seconds, which was impressive considering American luxury cars used motors twice the size to get the same performance. Both 280 SE models featured a widened front grille plus other minor detail changes like trim and taillights. The new motor was a success, with 3,270 280 SE 3.5 coupes being built over two model years – quite impressive considering it took four model years to sell 3,797 280 SE coupes. This beautiful example enjoyed the warm climate of California before being repatriated into Germany this year. The 280SE is well specified from new, with the rare and desirable option of steel sliding sunroof.. Finished in it’s original and supremely stylish colour scheme of Tunis Gold with a Tobacco Leather interior, this is a very good example of a highly desirable and collectible classic car of the 1970s.

Lot #30 (Sale Order 33 of 61)

Like most great Alfa Romeos the 6C 2500 was designed by Vittorio Jano one of the greatest automotive engineers in history and it derives from the 6C 2300 of 1934 By the time the engine was enlarged in 1939 the model had won the Targa Abruzzo four times and the Mille Miglia The larger car continued that tradition by winning the 1939 TripoliTobruk and taking second place in 1940 At a time when most British sports cars had pushrod engines and beam front axles the 6C 2500SS Super Sport seemed to come from another planet Its dohc engine produced 110bhp good for 103mph it had synchromesh on 3rd and 4th gears and the chassis featured allindependent suspension by trailing links and coil springs at the front and swing axles and torsion bars at the rear While most 6C 2500s had a surprisingly long wheelbase 118 the Super Sport had a 106 wheelbase and was over 300lbs lighter Even after the war the design was sufficiently advanced for competition versions to take 3rd place in the Mille Miglia in 1948 and 1949 and 2nd in the 1949 combined Targa FlorioGiro di Sicilia All Alfa Romeos were favourite targets of Italian carrozzieri who created some extraordinarily beautiful designs for the 6C 2500 This superb Alfa Romeo 6C is one of the rare original bodied cabriolets by the most famous Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina of which only very few were made between 1939 and 1952 The 6C 2500 S was ordered on 28th October 1947 by a Spanish Alfa Romeo importer called Ruiz Jimenez and delivered on 9march 1948 It was then sold to a Mr Dioniso who was then the head of the Madrid stock exchange He gifted the car to his mistress Ms Emilia Sierra The car retains an interesting additional data plate issued in Spain which details its delivery to Ms Sierra For the next 40 years 916009 remained in its original ownership In 1987 the second owner had the car restored and kept it well maintained before passing it to the third owner The cars body was found to be supremely original aside from having been repainted and had never seen rust or damage Today this important Alfa Romeo is sold with Swiss tax paid It drives very well and is presented in superb condition throughout An amazing opportunity to acquire one of the finest to come from the Italian marque NOTE If the car remains within the EU tax will have to be paid at the reduced rate on its purchase price

1989 Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet 1989 Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet

1989 Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet

Lot #42 (Sale Order 45 of 61)

What set the 930 Turbo apart from its peers was the relaxed way this stupefying performance was delivered. Comparing the Turbo to similarly quick ïhe-manÍ cars such as the Holman & Moody-tuned Cobra 427 and the Ford GT40, MotorÍs Roger Bell reckoned what made the Porsche so different was that it ñhurls you forward with similar velocity but in an uncannily quiet and effortless way. To be shoved so hard in the back that you need high-back seats to keep your head on, yet neither to feel nor hear anything more than a muffled hum, is a very odd sensation indeed in a car.î The TurboÍs characteristic flared wheelarches and ïtea trayÍ rear spoiler had already been seen on the Carrera model while the interior was the most luxurious yet seen in a 911, featuring leather upholstery, air conditioning and electric windows. For 1978 the TurboÍs engine was enlarged to 3.3 litres, gaining an intercooler in the process; power increased to 300bhp and the top speed of what was the fastest-accelerating road car of its day went up to 160mph. Due to strong emission regulation in the US, the Turbo was not imported for the US market between 1979 and 1984, but retuned in 1985, now equipped with upgraded Motronic engine management systems. Targa and Cabriolet versions were also introduced. The final production year of the legendary 930 Turbo was 1989, and these desirable end-of-the-line cars were fitted with the prized G50 five-speed transaxle, ensuring few cars would compete with the 930Ís unquestionable dominance on street and on the race track. More refined than hitherto yet retaining its high performance edge, the Porsche 930 Turbo sold in the thousands, arguably becoming the definitive sports car of its age. We are pleased to offer this 1989 930 Turbo Cabriolet, factory Porsche Exclusive Department example, finished in black with white all leather interior including knobs and tachometer. This late model 3.3L Turbo Intercooled 930 is the last of the G body with the highly sought after 5 speed manual transmission. This example is one of twelve built vehicles for Europe, only 67 cars were built for the world market, 55 of which were delivered to the USA. This is one of the more unique 930Ís in existence, and presents extremely well inside and out. This documented 930 is all original and has a host of rare features fitted by the factory Porsche Exclusive Department including side air intake shafts at the rear. The vendor describes the service history as perfect and punctual, having been completed in the Porsche Centre Berlin with a large maintenance being carried out at 60,000km in May 2017.

1962 Studebaker Hawk GT

Lot #44 (Sale Order 47 of 61)

The Studebaker Hawk Gran Turismo was a sporty coup produced by the StudebakerPackard Corporation from 1962 to 1964 The styling of the GT Hawk was a rather radical facelift that the designer Brooks Stevens had the old Hawk shape Stevens wanted a Europeanstyled car with clean lines and he called it Hawk Monaco the prototype even had Monegasque features The bonnet of the previous models was retained but got a more emphasized radiator frame to look more like the MercedesBenz which was then also driven by Studebaker in the USA Despite the European influence the Gran Turismo Hawk also showed American attributes eg the roof line which was very similar to the Ford Thunderbird A special feature is the almost flat but recessed rear window Overall the exterior kept its soft aerodynamic style of the former Studebaker but brought it to a contemporary level The Hawk GT was lightweight for an American car of its class and time and so its grand V8 made it a highperformance car with amazing handling and a safe straightline run Today the Hawk Gran Turismo is very much sought after The GT Hawk has been distinguished as a special feature by the Milestone Car Society This Studebaker was registered for the first time in Switzerland This GT served as a US embassy vehicle in Switzerland before it was exhibited in a museum in Eastern Switzerland for many years Here a beautiful piece of automobile history is offered in the absolute original condition with contemporary and loving patina inspiring driving and a very noble appearance Do not miss the opportunity to buy such a rare and elegant automobile with a rare 4speed gearbox and 8cylinder engine

When Ferrari reintroduced the twoplace frontengined grand touring cars into their lineup in 1996 with the 550 Maranello as the spiritual successor to the Ferrari 365 GTB4 Daytona it was evident that there would also be demand for a convertible version of the car just like the Daytona Spider before it The car that followed was the 550 Barchetta which was identical in every way to the 550 Maranello but was intended to be a pure roadster harkening back to some of Ferraris earliest models Even though customers were thrilled with their 550 Barchettas many felt limited by the cars lack of a conventional convertible top and they would only use their cars for quick outandback jaunts in the summertime Looking to provide a solution to this for the convertible variant of the 575M Maranello Ferrari devised a brandnew convertibletop system that would provide all the freedom of a convertible with the security of a coupe in an effort to give customers the best of both worlds The most interesting aspect of the 575 Superamerica was its Revocromico rotating hardtop This hardtop was constructed using a carbon fiber frame that had been integrated with electrochromic glass and it was the first of its kind ever fitted to a production car When the top was closed the opacity of the glass in the roof could be adjusted via a dial in the cabin The driver and passenger could experience the full brightness of a conventional sunroof at its lightest setting or 1 of available light at its darkest Furthermore the Superamerica could be transformed into a convertible at just a press of a button with the roof rotating back to rest flush with the boot lid in just 10 seconds leaving the rear window in place to function as a wind deflector Of course this did not obstruct luggage capacity and the Superamericas boot could swallow up more than enough luggage for two on a weekend getaway with the top up or down Optional on the Superamerica at the point of order was the Handling GTC upgrade package Developed for the Ferrari 575 GT Competizione Berlinetta a model produced specifically for the FIA GT and GrandAm championships this package is considered to be the most desirable option for the 575 model range as it includes carbonceramic brake discs with racing pads and special callipers 19 wheels stiffer suspension in Sport mode a titanium racing exhaust and faster calibration for the steering rack greatly enhancing the performance of this already capable supercar It is estimated that around 40 of Superamericas were built with this package Equipped with the desirable Handling GTC package this car was delivered new in 2005 to the present vendor and comes with original documents supplied by Ferrari to him including the Ferrari service book and its full Ferrari service history Moreover the car has just passed its 2 year German TUV valid until 092019 meaning that the car is in superb road ready condition The perfect combination of open sports Ferrari with the added bonus of the innovative and unique electro chromatic roof Being 1 of the limited edition of just 559 Superamericas the 12 cylinder engine provides a further boosted 540 bhp Finished in Rosso Fiorano Ferrari Sonderfarbe Extracampionario with contrasting Crema 3997 with Piping in Bordeaux Nhte Leder in Bordeaux and Daytona seats the paintwork is described to be in spotless condition without any stone chips or marks Having travelled a mere 44000km from new and described to be in excellent condition throughout its one owner from new has used this bespoke Superamerica mainly for long distance trips and has always been serviced at Ferrari Offered with all original books and toolkits The 575M Superamerica has become one of the most highly coveted Ferraris of recent times thanks to its rarity uniquely innovative design and the exhilarating driving experience that can only be had behind the wheel of one of these modern Ferrari V12 roadsters

1968 BMW R60 S WITH SIDECAR 1968 BMW R60 S WITH SIDECAR

1968 BMW R60 S WITH SIDECAR

Lot #47A (Sale Order 51 of 61)

To BMW, the “ Series 2 “ was rather like the Giulia was to Alfa Romeo or the 250 GT to Ferrari. Launched in 1955, it went on to guarantee the manufacturer’s success until the end of the 1960s. It became the machine of choice for the police, couriers and the press, as well as enthusiasts who wanted to have a bike they could use all the time without fear of an electrical fault, which could be a weakness on English machines… From the R 50 and R 69 of 1955 through to the last R 69S in 1969, all the machines in the series featured a frame with Earles fork and swinging arm rear suspension, and a flat twin cylinder engine with overhead valves. First presented in 1956, the R 60 had a 600cc touring engine. When the R 60/2 appeared four years later it had gained 2 bhp and other improvements which ensured its popularity: in eight years it sold more than 17,000 examples – an impressive figure for what was considered to be a big, powerful bike. Weighing less than 200 kg, the engine’s 30 bhp propelled the bike to 150 km/h and allowed a cruising speed of more than 100 km/h.The R 60/2 in the sale was bought by the current owner in 1992. Fitted with a Vatier silencer, it is in original condition and has been ridden very little. It has a Steib LS 200 sidecar attached, which is an ultralight model with a classic design that complements the appearance of the whole perfectly. It was designed for low-powered bikes, so is very easy to man?uvre with the power of the R60. It is equipped with bumpers and the side-car has been restored with superb black upholstery and a removable wind deflector. This machine doesn’t just look good – it is capable of providing short trips or longer journeys in total comfort and tranquility.

2000 Maserati Quattroporte 2.8 Evo

Lot #56 (Sale Order 60 of 61)

Maserati revived the ïQuattroporteÍ name in 1994, applying it to the fourth series of luxury sports saloons that had begun as far back as 1963. The newcomer was intended to compete at the top of its market sector with the likes of the BMW 540i and Jaguar XJR, the first model released being powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre V6, with 2.8-litre V6 and 3.2-litre V8-engined versions following, both of which retained MaseratiÍs trademark forced induction. The latter unit produced 335bhp, good enough to endow the aerodynamically efficient Quattroporte with a top speed approaching 170mph. Based on the BiTurbo platform, the Quattroporte IV offered spacious accommodation equipped to a standard that would not have shamed a limousine, featuring burl elm embellishment, Connolly leather trim, air conditioning, pre-tensioned seat belts, powered seat adjustment and much more besides. This V8 engine Quattroporte has manual transmission and leather interior. It is presented in generally good condition and is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner. A fantastic opportunity to obtain an unmolested piece of Maserati history.
