1927 Ford T

Lot #102F (Sale Order 2 of 64)

1927 marked the last year of production of this legend. To mark the end of the line, Ford gave the “......T”...... the most dramatic design change in the cars history! Well, dramatic by “......T”...... standards. The hood was enlarged with the cowl panel no longer a compound curve and blended much more with the line of the hood. Even an untrained eye can see the subtle but distinctive change. The “......T”...... we are offering is green (yes, that’......s right) 2 door coupe. If it makes you feel better, the interior is black. Estimate: $4,300 - 4,600

1967 Pontiac Executive

Lot #105F (Sale Order 5 of 64)

With its original and stunning Dark Turquoise paint, this two-door Pontiac Executive hardtop coupe is described as a beautiful riding car and a pleasure to drive. The Ford Fairlane 500 was the top of the line Ford model in 1958. This two-door coupe is painted in a beautiful tricolor with the main color being Sea-spray Green. The car has had 1 repaint but is still in good condition. In fact this is a show quality car. 1950 DeSoto Custom

Lot #112F (Sale Order 12 of 64)

This beautiful DeSoto club coupe is about 95 percent original. It began as virtually a rust-free car with the body professionally restored and painted (10-12/2015) in Regal Blue Metallic, to match its' "twin" DeSoto 4-door sedan, by the same owner. The original color was black and the interior upholstery is a deep Navy blue ribbed velour, with matching door panels and coordinating headliner and cut pile carpet. This car has not yet been shown but is entered in the Lake George Nationals, September 7-10 2017, along with its' "twin" DeSoto 4-door sedan. The car features the same Chrysler 237 cid L-Head engine and 3-speed Fluid Drive transmission as in the 4-door sedan, which will cruise easily at highway speeds. This car, like its' matching 4-door sedan, is an unusually comfortable ride and the rear seat passengers can easily relax with both arm and footrests while cruising down the road. 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury Brougham 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury Brougham

1977 Plymouth Gran Fury Brougham

Lot #113F (Sale Order 13 of 64)

1977 Plymouth Gran Fury Brougham FACTORY POLICE package. This car is one of only 575 Full police packages also equipped with the Brougham package built for the North Carolina Highway Patrol. Broughams were one year only (1977) , of the 575 built some were unmarked and some were the traditional Black and Silver patrol units making this car 1 of less than 575. Of those cars very few (if any other than this) remain today. This unit was a marked car as evidenced by areas of the underlying paint found on the car during restoration as well as the factory police wiring harness found in the roof panels which powered the CJ184 Roof Light. There is documentation with the car from NCSHP and the build sheet was recovered and decoded.. This car has had a meticulous restoration started by the owner prior to me who passed away. I purchased the car as a roller from his wife. The body and paint work had been completed (in NYSP colors, I planned on repainting it back to NCSHP trim) and the engine /driveline were rebuilt, but the rest was up to me. The 440 U code "Super Commando" engine and 727 transmission are the numbers matching originals (rebuilt) (83,337miles on odometer), Police package coolers (Engine oil, transmission, power steering) are all there and working properly . The car has a 9 ¼... rear and heavy duty front/rear sway bars, heavy duty suspension and heavy duty cooling. I upgraded the car from Lean Burn to electronic ignition concealed in the original Lean burn location to keep stock appearance. The 100 amp police alternator was rebuilt as was the power steering and the original radiator was completely redone. A new fuel tank and sender were installed along with new lines, a new Carb, new brakes and lines, new front suspension, new tires, new exhaust and numerous detail parts (Marker lenses, door sills, clips, hoses, etc). Car has power steering ,power windows ,power brakes, A/C, and rear defogger, manual locks and seats, Driver and Passenger remote mirrors. The Deluxe Brougham interior is highly optioned and in excellent original condition including woodgrain accents, A/C floor vents, AM radio, deluxe seats with arm rest and factory police package ceiling (service) light. Grill, deck and alternating headlamps are installed and wired and are controlled by a temporary switch box. I also replaced every bulb in the car right down to the glove box lamp, I refurbished as many original parts as possible and used NOS where possible for replacements. This is a very rare and unique documented car done right. A partial decode is as follows: (VIN) P= Plymouth, H=High Trim level, 41=Sedan, U= 440 HP (High Performance) Super Commando Engine, 7= 1977, D= Belvedere Assembly Plant (Data Tag): E86= 440 4 bbl engine, A38 Police Package, N41=Dual Exhaust, F43= Reinforced A pillar for spotlights, D36=HD 727 B torqueflite transmission, F58=Rear reinforced weld, G11=Tinted Glass, H51=Single Air with Heater, M15=Upper door frame Moulding, M25= Wide Sill Moulding, N94=Fresh Air Hood Fiber, G63=Right Hand Outside Remote Mirror, K5X=Black Body Side Moulding, S41=HD Rear Sway Bar, V02=Two Tone Paint, Y39=Special Order, M35=Deluxe Bumperettes, F39=Roof Reinforcement, F49=Roof Wiring, E3X9= Deluxe Bench / Split Back Police Seat, KQ7183=North Carolina State Order, 120= Jan /20 /1977 Build date. 1928 Chevrolet Imperial Landau 1928 Chevrolet Imperial Landau

1928 Chevrolet Imperial Landau

Lot #115F (Sale Order 15 of 64)

This piece of American automotive history is in superb condition. 1928 was an important year in the development of the American automobile. Just a year earlier Ford introduced the new Model A and this is Chevrolet’......s response. An elegant and stylish vehicle that outsold the Model A that year even though the chassis would not receive a much anticipated 6-cylinder engine until late in the 1928 model year. For 1928, in looking to the new engine, Chevrolet stretched the chassis by four inches and gave the series a more stylish look. The hood was lengthened with flowing fender lines and smoothly integrated body panels. It is hard to believe that the company would build such an elegant looking car to do battle with Ford in the low-price end of the market. An older design, the very reliable four cylinder engine at 171 cubic inches, gained higher compression, aluminum pistons and a revised carburetor to deliver 35 horsepower. Unfortunately, because the 1928 were a heavier car, performance did not improve. An updraft Carter carburetor is original. Four-wheel brakes were introduced with this model but they were still mechanically activated. The transmission is three speeds and floor mounted as was typical of the era. The four-door Imperial Landau has an elegant style with the body painted in a beautiful, deep Maroon color and a black Landau top. The wood spoke wheels are a natural wood with varnish. The pristine cloth interior is beige, which fits perfectly with the flawless Maroon paint of the body. This particular car is a Vintage Chevrolet Club of America award winner. It is an excellent example of a truly important automotive line. It received a full, ground up restoration over a five-year period to bring it to the highest possible standards. The restoration was done to the original specs for this model. The VCCA awards acknowledge the quality of the restoration. Some of the interesting features of this car are the wooden steering wheel, rear window curtain and matching spare tire. This is an opportunity to own a nicely restored example of a historically significant Chevrolet from the “......Roaring Twenties”......! ESTIMATE: $15,000 - $25,000

Lot #117F (Sale Order 17 of 64)

This really is a Southern car, purchased new in Atlanta in 1965, and it has been maintained and cherished by the same family since new. It is also features the rare and desirable factory air-conditioning. The engine is the virtually bullet proof 289 cu. in. V-8 linked to a console mounted T-bar Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission. The engine has recently been given a professional tune-up. 1956 Ford Thunderbird

Lot #123F (Sale Order 22 of 64)

Ford developed the Thunderbird in 1955 to compete with Chevrolet’......s new Corvette introduced two years earlier. The “......T-Bird”...... offered highly desirable features not found in the GM “......sporty car”......, particularly V8 power and creature comforts like a removable fiberglass hard top and roll up windows. This 1956 T-Bird, from the second year of production, is a nuts and bolt restoration to the highest standards. It has been repainted in the original factory green, a very popular color in early Thunderbirds. The interior with a bench seat was recovered in green and white vinyl and looks as though it was delivered from the factory. Mileage since new is an amazing 79,180 considering that his is a 60 year old car. It is difficult to find such original low mileage examples and in this condition. To create more storage space in this two seat sporting car Ford went to a rear mounted continental tire kit in 1956 as seen on this car. In this second year of production a more powerful 292 cu.in. V8 was introduced and is part of the package in this car. This engine delivered 202 HP through the 2-speed automatic transmission. These first generation Thunderbirds are considered the purest examples of the marque. As such this car is desirable for any automotive collection. ESTIMATE: $28,000 - $35,000

1971 Jaguar E-Type 1971 Jaguar E-Type

1971 Jaguar E-Type

Lot #136F (Sale Order 35 of 64)

The favorite topic at any meeting of Jaguar enthusiast is which is the best model of the beloved E-Type. Some favor the early version known as the “......flat floor”...... model, later called the Series I. Another candidate for most desirable is the V12 powered Series III with its enormous engine and power. Arguably the most desired E-type of all is the Series II Fixed Head Coupe with its styling balance and perfect proportions coupled with unforgettable performance. As an example of a coveted classic sports car, this carefully maintained and beautifully presented Series II 4.2 liter Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) with its Willow Green factory paint color has been with the same owner for three decades. The mileage is less than 60,000 miles and it has been serviced a regular basis by Jaguar experts. The beautiful tan leather interior is new and correct and features the wider and more comfortable bucket seats found the Series II. The Series II FHC is a grand touring car that can cruise at speed for hours. The bored out 4.2 liter XK engine is bigger than the Series I 3.8 but puts out the same 265 horsepower but as a sleek coupe can hit a top speed topping 150MPH. Because of added torque it reaches speed quickly. This coupe also features three of the more desirable SU carburetors and the original Stromberg carb will be included with the car. The Jaguar designed all synchromesh 4-speed transmission in the Series II marked a huge improvement over the original Moss gearbox. Four power assist disc brakes can bring the coupe to a quick stop. Based on the famed D-Type Jaguar that dominated the 24 Hours LeMans race in the 1950s, this car was designed by aerodynamist Malcolm Sayer on aircraft principles. The body features a single hood over the engine bay, a monocoque chassis with a steel tub at the center and strong steel frame for the front suspension and engine. The suspension is all independent with a limited slip differential. The E-type is famous for its precise handling and smooth ride. Another improvement in favor of the Series II coupe is the headlights. Purists would argue that the glass hoods over the headlights on the early car contributed to the stunning looks of the E-type. Perhaps they did but they also could be dangerous because with time they became fogged and it could be difficult to see at night…......particularly at the speeds of the E-type. With the safety concerns of the late 60s, particularly in the US, headlight covers were removed. The wrap around bumpers and larger brake lights are also a result of US safety regulations. The restyled front opening also helped correct overheating problems. This car is equipped with a late option, air conditioning. The fold down shelf in the back allows more room for luggage further enhancing its value as a high-speed touring car ideal for long trips. Chrome 72 spoke wire wheels are a great finishing detail on this coupe. A matching numbers car, it also has full Jaguar Heritage documentation. The long-term owner describes the condition of this car as “......very good.”...... Properly celebrated as a work of art, this 1971 E-type Series II Fixed Head Coupe will add style and performance to any automotive collection. ESTIMATE: $65,000 - $85,000

1953 MG Contemporary Special 1953 MG Contemporary Special

1953 MG Contemporary Special

Lot #138F (Sale Order 37 of 64)

Capital District restoration specialist Bob Ensign calls his “......black beauty”...... a Contemporary Special because it is a modern design that utilizes the technology, parts, and thought patterns that the factory was developing in 1953. The car, which has been featured in local, national, and international publications due to its quality, construction and performance, was designed by Ensign, who then built the body utilizing coach-built construction (sheet metal over wood). Since its completion, it has been driven regularly and has participated in many tours, concours, and auto shows, where it always draws a crowd of enthusiasts who try to figure out just what they’......re looking at. “......The design came to me almost 20 years ago,”...... recalls Ensign. “......A client had sustained substantial damage to the rear-end of his MG-TF in a crash. With the gas tank crushed and gashed open, I thought he was very lucky to survive, let alone walk away unharmed. “......I love those T-series cars but the sight of that gas tank and the potential for a fiery disaster really scared me. I had seen a prototype built in 1953 and somewhat liked the profile, so it came to me that I could build a modern version that was both beautiful and much safer.”...... After more thought and bending some brake tubing to finalize the shapes and contours he envisioned, it was time to begin. “......I started out with a 1953 MG-TD steel frame that was given to me by a collector from Nyack, NY,”...... recalls Ensign. “......Charlie had a back-yard full of MG T-series frames that he’......d acquired here and there, so I started with this one and added chassis parts that I’......d saved or acquired over an eight-year span. The oldest parts I used were from a 1934 MG while the newest ones came off a ’......64.”...... Power for the hybrid MG comes from an 1800 cc engine salvaged from a 1964 MG –...... B that Ensign rebuilt to what he calls “......proprietary specifications.”...... The upgraded engine easily runs in the 8000 rpm range and is a major upgrade from the 1950’......s version the car might be expected to house. “......The gear box is from a ’......58 MG-A, as is the front suspension and the steering rack,”...... adds Ensign. “......We modified the front suspension when we installed it to allow for additional camber, which improves the handling significantly, but the addition that made the biggest difference is the new rear-axle. It has a 4:10 gear ratio, which, along with the modified engine, lets the car reach an absurd top speed.”...... Ensign describes the finished TD chassis as “......slightly”...... modified because of the suspension changes and new mounts for the hand-crafted bodywork. But from there on, the process got more complicated. “......Using Ash wood that was locally sourced and selected for its grain pattern, I shaped and fit each piece to create a skeleton for the bodywork that I had visualized. This body wood and the floor panels are supported by a few iron and sheet metal gussets and held together by a whole bunch of wood screws. “......Once the structural wood was complete, I hand-formed each body panel. I used an English Wheel, stretchers, shrinkers, hammers, dollies and Mig and Tig welding equipment to create the entire metal skin of the car. The hood is raw aluminum which my wife told me not to paint. I put the hammer marks and file scratches in it just to make it look like it had been around for a while. “......People ask if it was hard to build it and I always tell them ‘......No, it was fun!’...... When one is lucky enough to exercise their creative talents doing something they love, hard work becomes fun.”...... The end result was both beautiful and unique and, as with all such endeavors, the subject of value is always raised by those who observe it. ESTIMATE: $50,000 - $65,000

1941 Pontiac Woodie Wagon 1941 Pontiac Woodie Wagon

1941 Pontiac Woodie Wagon

Lot #144F (Sale Order 43 of 64)

1941 Pontiac Woodie Stations Wagons are coveted by lovers of this unique style of station wagon and they are uncommon indeed. This example of a rare pre-war woodie comes from the collection of a noted expert on these special vehicles. Originally woodies were built for use by hotels to pickup guests arriving by train so many were built on truck chassis. While at first practical utility vehicles their unique styling caught the eye of the wealthy for use on their estates and Adirondack camps. They wanted some of the ride comfort of regular cars and companies like GM jumped into the market during the 1930s. What makes these cars so special is, of course, their handmade wooden bodies built by an outside contractor, the Hercules Company of Evansville, Indiana. Hercules made the bodies for these station wagons of ash-framed mahogany. This makes the Hercules woodies more desirable because the two other firms building woodie bodies for GM used plainer birch panels. The roof is topped with an Everflex-covered padding. The wooden tailgate is horizontally split with a single window on the top and a built-in folding tray on the bottom. Production of these cars was limited partly because they were time consuming to build by hand and they weren’......t that profitable. They were often the most expensive car in the Pontiac lineup for their time. In 1942, production ceased altogether because of the war. This particular woodie is a four door Custom Torpedo Station Wagon. It is believed to be a 10 year old restoration from Florida. The tan paint job is a custom color and the mahogany wood body is beautifully varnished reminding one of the wooden hulled powerboats from the same era. An L-head 6 cylinder engine develops about 90 horsepower from 234 cubic inches. The transmission is a three-speed manual column mounted shift. The car was built on the standard GM 122 inch chassis of the period. There are two bench seats covered in Naugahyde vinyl. This was the original material used in what was seen as a utility vehicle. A varnished wood panel interior is accented by a metal dash. The dash features a built-in AM radio and clock. There is also a heater unit in the vehicle. This is an opportunity to own a rare and unique piece of automotive history. ESTIMATE: $80,000 - $95,000

Lot #145F (Sale Order 44 of 64)

For those who grew up in the 1950s or are fans of the era, this Studebaker with its revolutionary styling is a memorable car and a rare addition to any collection. This car really made an impression on auto buyers. Based on the P51 fighter of WWII, Studebaker Coupe featured a bullet nose like an airplane fuselage. The car did put off some auto buyers and it received mixed reviews in the day from those who couldn’......t tell if the car was coming or going. It was so futuristic other carmakers were forced to rethink their pedestrian designs. It is powered by a straight six, 245 cubic inch engine with a single barrel carb. The claimed output was 102 HP. The transmission is a three-speed column mounted shift. Insurance companies raise premiums because of the direct relationship between horsepower and claims filed. The Feds wanted clean air and that strangled performance. We are offering at auction an extraordinary example from 1970: a Ford Torino Cobra Jet Sportroof. Because the Torino was Ford’......s weapon of choice for NASCAR, the Cobra Jet was loaded with high performance good stuff. Our numbers matching Cobra Jet, featured on the cover the November 16, 2016 issue of OLD CARS: WEEKLY NEW & MARKET PLACE, is equipped with a 370 hp 429-4V CJ Ram Air motor, a four speed “......top loader”...... and 3:50 rear end. It also has a competition suspension with staggered rear shocks. It is painted in a stunning Calypso Coral with a black interior that has Turin Knit vinyl bucket seats; full counsel and AM radio. The crowning and very cool feature is the flat black hood with a “......shaker”...... air cleaner. A previous owner found the Torino on craigslist and jumped on it. Having spent all of its life in the south, he knew it would not have the rust problems that plagued most Torino’......s. To upgrade performance, he added a .570-lift Crane Cam and Hooker headers. Of the 407, 502 Torino’......s made in 1970, just 7,675 were Cobra Jets. The lucky bidder who wins this car will have an extraordinary example from an era when all was possible. * VIN #OA 38J144840 * A Magazine Cover Queen * "J”...... code 429 cid, 375 hp, V8 4BBL Ram Air * Hurst 4 speed * Detroit –...... locker * Competition suspension w/front coils * Extra-long rear leaf springs * Flat black hood * Optional 15”...... Magnum wheels * Body off restoration ESTIMATE: $85,000 - $95,000

1989 Nissan 240SX 1989 Nissan 240SX

1989 Nissan 240SX

Lot #150F (Sale Order 49 of 64)

This stunningly and creatively customized Nissan 240 SX is a blend of street, custom and show car that turns heads in any venue. This car was a World of Wheels show winner in both Washington DC and Boston back in the day. The first thing one notices about this car is the spectacular custom 2-tone PPG paint scheme done in Diamond Black and Sunburst Pearl Coat Red Metallic that has been super coated a total of 13 times to give the car an unbelievable luster. The body has been enhanced by a molded full body kit, a carbon fiber front splitter and a carbon fiber molded and contoured rear wing. The interior is also custom with leather door panels, carbon fiber custom trim panels, power windows and power locks. Also featured is a Naugahyde racing seat with a 4-point harness and a Momo leather steering wheel. Steering is power assisted. The drivetrain features a Redtop SR-20 DET Motor with 15,000 true miles on this two-liter, OHV, turbo engine, a popular upgrade for a high performance 240SX. It is mated to a 5-speed JDM manual transmission, an Exedy racing clutch and a limited slip differential. The brakes are 300 ZX Big-Brake upgrades with Stillen Cross drilled rotors with Hawk HPS pads. The wheels are Motegi Formula-7 Gunmetal 18 inch rims with staggered Falken Ziex 512 tires. A great deal of attention has been paid to building a highly sophisticated Pioneer sound system with 14 speakers and DVD player. Front and rear AV Camera monitors the engine bay and backup area (2 cameras). In reality it is almost impossible to include all the customization that has made this a show-winning vehicle. With 15,000 actual miles it is still a low mileage phenomenon. It is no wonder the owner feels this is the nicest 240SX in existence. ESTIMATE: $18,000 - $28,000

1969 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Fastback 1969 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Fastback

1969 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Fastback

Lot #151F (Sale Order 50 of 64)

The Ford Mustang was introduced in April 1964 as a sporty "pony car" to attract younger buyers into Ford products. After a few years of development, Ford saw the need to create performance Mustangs to compete with GM and their release of the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird. The Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback is a performance-oriented option package of the Ford Mustang, originally introduced by Ford in August 1968 as a package for the 1969 model year. The Mach 1 title adorned performance oriented Mustang offerings until the original retirement of the moniker in 1978. This great, original, example of a 1969 Mach 1 had only 3 owners, was always stored in a insulated heated garage, and is one of extremely few Mustang Mach 1's in 1969 to come with factory air. The 1995 Dodge Viper Red color is a head turner. The car also features: * An MSD racing ignition system * Trimec T-5 racing transmission (original 4 speed comes with the car as well) * Half roll cage * Welded sub frames * Duel stainless steel exhaust * A fuel cell for safety * All plastic re-chromed * Wood grain & UV laminated - all hand painted by a artist from Vermont specializing in wood grain painting * Original build sheet, modern radio (orignal radio included), and the original console comes with the car * Extra driver side and passenger window glass is available and many extra parts are available * Hood scoop blinkers * Rear fold down seat ESTIMATE: $30,000 - $45,000

1992 Mercedes-Benz SL500 1992 Mercedes-Benz SL500

1992 Mercedes-Benz SL500

Lot #154F (Sale Order 53 of 64)

The Mercedes-Benz R129 SL roadsters were introduced in 1989 to replace the R107. This two seat roadster came with an automated collapsible “......textile roof”...... with a color matching shell like tonneau roof. Also standard was a detachable hard top. The SL500 was powered by the M119 5.0 liter DOHC V-8 that produced 322 hp. One of the most extraordinary features of this car is automatic roll over bar. A major concern with open or convertible top cars is the danger of roll over. T-tops, roll bars or sitting head level with the doors were ways to address the problem. MB devised a sensor that would determine in milliseconds that the car was about to roll over. Having sensed a rollover, in 0.3 seconds a roll bar was deployed. When the crisis passed, the bar could easily be retracted. The SL500 we are offering is painted Champagne. The interior is beige with leather bucket seats. The mileage is 97,800. -5 liter V-8 322 hp - Soft and hard tops - Never driven in the winter ESTIMATE: $10,000 - $17,000

1978 Cadillac DeVille

Lot #162F (Sale Order 61 of 64)

Cadillac’......s de Ville series of coupes and sedans have always represented the highest levels of performance and luxury. Introduced during the 1949 Motorama tour and until Cadillac retired the model in 2005, the de Ville was the status symbol most coveted by the entrepreneurs and social climbers of post World War 2 America. We are offering for auction and excellent example of the fifth generation of the DeVille line produced in 1978. The fifth generation was introduced in 1977 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Cadillac. The new DeVille was nine inches shorter and four inches narrower. The reduction made the new DeVille a ½... ton lighter. Despite the reduction in size, the new DeVille had a larger trunk with more head and leg room. Our 1978 fifth generation DeVille has only traveled 4,700 powered by a 5.7 liter V8. The most striking feature is the “......Cabriolet”...... roof option. With this option, the rear half of the roof would be of padded vinyl with opera windows and lamps. The color would often match the interior. In this case a white leather interior with red highlights. The red high lights would be the same red as the exterior. It is a strikingly handsome automobile that exudes the class that is Cadillac’......s hall mark and best express by the DeVille. 1988 was met with an extensive restyle, and sales nearly doubled from the previous year, up to 33,210. Bladed 14" aluminum wheels remained standard, while an optional 15" snowflake-pattern alloy wheel was included with the Touring Suspension option. The original car sold for $24,891.
