Beautiful Joe is a real dog, and "Beautiful Joe" is his real name. He belonged during the first part of his life to a cruel master, who mutilated him in the manner described in the story. He was rescued from him, and is now living in a happy home with pleasant surroundings, and enjoys a wide local celebrity.

The illustrator, Will Vawter, grew up in Greenfield, Ind., where he was close to the author, James Whitcomb Riley. Vawter illustrated 11 volumes of Rile's poetry, sometimes using local residents as models. This volume contains 27 poems about farm life, including When the Frost is on the Punkin; Thoughts fer the Discuraged Farmer; and Wortermelon Time.

AUTHENTIC Jet Over the Atlantic (1959) 23" x 28" MOVIE POSTER Lot #31 (Sale Order 31 of 66) Sized 23" x 28" in good condition with some folds. Very nice color. AUTHENTIC NOT A REPLICA. Jet Over the Atlantic (also known as High Over the Atlantic) is a 1959 drama film directed by Byron Haskin and stars Guy Madison, Virginia Mayo, and George Raft. The film's title was misleading as the airliner was a Bristol Britannia turboprop-engined, not "pure" jet-powered aircraft. George Raft's biographer Everett Aaker called Jet Over the Atlantic "a precursor of the disaster genre."

RARE SS NORMANDIE (1935) REPLICA CRUISE SHIP MANTLE CLOCK WITH BOX Lot #41 (Sale Order 41 of 66) This glass clock which is a reminiscent of a Lalique design, which is out of production.
Inspired by the commemorative time piece that was given to the VIP passengers, this frosted glass clock uses a 1AA battery, the original had a windup movement. Never used, and hard to find. Measures : 7 inches high X 6 inches wide. Box has a stain near the top (see pic) interior including the clock itself is in VERY GOOD condition with little wear at all. The SS Normandie was an ocean liner built in Saint-Nazaire, France, for the French Line Compagnie Generale Trasatlantique.
