'Catch that Whale' - By Tim Layzell Lot #207 (Sale Order 7 of 146) No other manufacturer has proved as adept as Porsche at flexing its design to meet the ever-changing regulations of Sportscar racing in the post-war era. With a low profile nose and huge "whale tail" hung out the back (which led to the car being Christened "Moby Dick"), the Porsche 935 was a pragmatic response to yet another regulation change and, until the arrival of the controversial GT1 cars of the late 1990s, the ultimate evolution of the Porsche 911. Here, in 1978 Moby Dick charges through the trees ahead of the Renaults of Pironi/Jaussaud and Jarier/Bell and the Porsche 936 of Jacky Ickx. Although the Renault of Didier Pironi and Jean-Pierre Jaussaud took the honours on this occasion, a 935 won outright in 1979, one of the few cars to do so which could claim genuine mass-production lineage. Limited Edition, one of just 250 hand signed and numbered by the artist Tim Layzell and Giclee Printed on very high quality 308 gsm art paper. 'Narrow Victory' by Tim Layzell Lot #235 (Sale Order 35 of 146) The premise of GT racing was that manufacturers could race cars based - however loosely - on cars which customers could drive on the road. The Ferrari GTO and the Aston Martin Project Cars were perhaps the ultimate expressions of this - based on the 250GT series and DB4GT respectively. For the TT at Goodwood in 1963, the Astons of Bruce McLaren and Innes Ireland were handicapped by having to run on narrow 5 ½" wheel rims. Although Ireland put in a banzai qualifying lap to take pole, Graham Hill won the race from Mike Parkes' similar car while Ireland finished 7th after a number of lurid spins. Here, Hill leads Ireland and Parkes out of the chicane in the early stages of the race. Limited Edition, one of just 450 hand-signed and numbered by the artist Tim Layzell and Giclee Printed on very high quality 308 gsm art paper. Custom mounted in a high quality brushed aluminium frame complete with COA. 90cm x 75cm 5kg

'Le Tour' - By Tim Layzell Lot #259 (Sale Order 59 of 146) Nowadays, the legend of the Tour de France is synonymous with two wheels rather than four but it was not always this way. During the 1960s the Tour de France Automobile - as it was called officially - was a high-profile event which ran over a week and mixed regularity sections on the public road with a series of races and high speed tests held at iconic venues such as Clermont-Ferrand, Rouen, Montlhery, Mont Ventoux, Le Mans, and even taking in international venues like the Nurburgring, Spa and Monza. It attracted some of the finest drivers of the day, and some of the greatest cars of all time. Here, in 1964 the winning Ferrari 250 GTO of Lucien Bianchi - grand prix driver, Le Mans winner and great uncle of the late Jules Bianchi - is chased by an AC Cobra on a road section. First run in 1899, the TDF morphed into a round of the European Rally Championship during the 1980s before ceasing altogether in 1986. It was revived as an event for historic cars in 1992 and continues to run successfully under the guise Tour Auto. Limited Edition, one of just 250 hand signed and numbered by the artist Tim Layzell and Giclee Printed on very high quality 308 gsm art paper. Custom mounted in a high quality brushed aluminium frame complete with COA. 90cm x 75cm 5kg

'I'll Have What He's Having' - By Tim Layzell Lot #272 (Sale Order 72 of 146) As the new boy at Ferrari in 1956, Peter Collins was teamed with the Italian hot shoe, Eugenio Castellotti and established maestro Juan Manuel Fangio. Collins quickly established himself as a favourite of Enzo Ferrari while Fangio endured an unhappy single season with the Scuderia. At Monaco, in spite of starting from pole position and setting fastest lap, Fangio in car 20 had an uncharacteristically untidy race, hitting straw bales and damaging his car early in the race before hitting a wall and bending a wheel on lap 32. When Collins pitted at half distance, he handed his car over to his teammate who chased the victorious Stirling Moss in vain, the Ferrari pair sharing second place in car 26 while Fangio also took a share of 4th place after his car was taken over by Castellotti. Simple, isn't it? Limited Edition, one of just 150 hand signed and numbered by the artist Tim Layzell and Giclee Printed on very high-quality 308 gsm art paper. Custom mounted in a high-quality brushed aluminium frame complete with COA. 90cm x 75cm 5kg

Ferrari Il Libro Rosso - 'The Red Book' Lot #277 (Sale Order 77 of 146) This book, written by Enzo Ferrari, is 'his story'; having been asked to write the story many times, he always seemed to postpone the moment until now. He has taken the opportunity to reveal his thoughts, ideas, beliefs, feelings that have formed the fabric of the man himself. He recalls the memories of his family, the men, the things, the events which led to his life and led him on to build cars under his name. His days with Alfa Romeo and Scuderia Ferrari. The death of his son Dino was painful, though Enzo managed to bring together his strength and continue with his own life and work. The stories recall and illustrate many names and figures who have enjoyed worldwide popularity within the history of motorsport. Enzo is able to portray these events from a front row seat, having been so involved with famous names like Ascari, Fangio, and Moss, who were, from year to year, decade after decade, teachers, friends, students, staff, and allies. The book was presented to Mick Andrews on the podium by Enzo, with his business card attached.

'Snakes and Ladders' By Tim Layzell Lot #294 (Sale Order 94 of 146) Innes Ireland was a racing driver of the 'Old School'. In many ways his racing career came a decade too late, the advancing professionalism of international motor racing leaving little room for the hard drinking, hard driving mentality which pervaded the post-war years and was exemplified by the likes of Hawthorn, Collins and Duncan Hamilton. But while Innes raced mainly for fun - for the hell of it - he was truly a driver of the front rank. A TT and Grand Prix winner, his raw speed and competitive nature saw him drive for many of the top teams of the time, including Shelby American. Here, during the 1964 Targa Florio, Innes wrestles the big, 289 Cobra through the Sicilian mountains in pursuit of the Ferrari GTO of Luigi Mosca and Fortinbras while in the background a Porsche 904 spins. The Cobra was unsuited to the sinuous mountain circuit and Ireland charged to no avail - his Kansan team mate crashing the Cobra through a wall and into retirement. The Ferrari also retired while the race was won by the small, nimble 2-litre Porsche 904 GTS of Pucci and Davis. There's no substitute for cubic inches...? Limited Edition, one of just 450 hand signed and numbered by the artist Tim Layzell and Giclee Printed on very high quality 308 gsm art paper. Custom mounted in a high-quality brushed aluminium frame complete with COA. 90cm x 75cm 5kg

'Give Me Goodwood' By Tim Layzell Lot #308 (Sale Order 108 of 146) "Give me Goodwood on a summer's day and you can forget the rest of the world." So said the late, great Roy Salvadori and it is difficult to imagine a more perfect setting for the motorsport enthusiast than 24th August 1963, sitting on the bank between Fordwater and St Mary's as the field - peppered with Grand Prix stars - blasts through 'no name' corner on the first lap of that year's Tourist Trophy race. Here, Graham Hill's Maranello Concessionaires Ferrari 250 GTO leads a gaggle of cars including Salvadori in Tommy Atkins' Jaguar E-Type Lightweight (86 PJ); Jack Sears in another Lightweight E-Type (4 WPD); Mike Parkes in John Coombs' Ferrari GTO, the Aston Martin Project Cars of Bruce McLaren(1) and Innes Ireland (2) and the ill-fated Prince Zourab Tchkotoua Ferrari GTO driven by Tommy Hitchcock.
