Prize Japanese Wakizashi Samurai Sword, Signed with Papers in very good condition. The documentation appears to indicate this sword was produced in a competition among swordmakers, and was a high quality prize that was given to Tomikyokai in the late 17th to early 18th century at "Yamato" Bridge. This sword is very clean with a pronounced signature which is translated as Akamatsu. It also appears to say "Reverse trouble for fortune so jump". We have included pictures of the documentation written in Japanese for independent examination as we have no way to definitively verify the translation. The sword is presented in a resting case. This sword measures approximately 29.5" measured from tip to hilt. (8)
