Exceptional Presentation Cased Pre-World War II Colt Government Model National Match Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory .22-45 Conversion Unit and Factory Letters

Manufactured in 1934. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration, grips not listed, as well as shipment to A.F. Stoeger Co. in New York on 6 June 1934. The left side of the matching numbered slide has the standard two-line address and patent dates while the right has the standard National Match and Colt markings followed by the Rampant Colt. The left of the trigger guard is marked "W/VP" while the right is marked "60", and the standard Government Model marking is over the serial number on the right of the frame. The barrel is blued with a polished chamber hood marked "45 COLT", while a circled "MB" is on the left of the lug. It is fitted with blade front and notch rear sights, checkered trigger, slide stop, thumb safety, and wide hammer, and an arched checkered mainspring housing. It is fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips and a two-tone magazine with "COLT/45 AUTO" on the base. Includes a complete Colt Ace .22-.45 conversion unit numbered "U 785" on top of the slide with otherwise standard markings and features. The included factory letter for the conversion unit confirms the configuration as well as shipment to George Davis in Alton, Illinois on 30 August 1939. A Colt presentation case is included that is fitted for both the pistol and the conversion unit components.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun

Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish with a few scattered light handling marks and some very faint edge wear. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The conversion unit is also excellent retaining 99% plus of the original blue with a few light handling marks. The case is fine with the key plate missing, some scattered minor handling/storage marks and some mild staining on the interior. This is an exceptional pre-World War II Colt National Match and conversion unit set which would be very difficult to improve upon!
