.45 caliber, 5.5" barrel, S/N 116726, The frame, barrel and hammer finished in nickel finish, The cylinder, backstrap and triggerguard are finish in blue then finely engraved or cuts, and gold damascene fill into the engraving or cuts.  The backstrap is engraved and gold Damascene with his name Major H.K. Milks AO -361665.  Two-piece pearl grips.  Overall very artistic item, retaining most the new finish. 

Major Harold K. Milks was known as the Associated Press Havana Bureau Chief. Milks had a turbulent time in Cuba having to take cover for 6 weeks in a friendly embassy during the Bay of Pigs as well as being kicked out of Cuba. Milks also reported on the loss and the recovery of hydrogen bombs in Palomares, Spain. Later in his career Milks was Latin Affairs editor for The Republic in Phoenix.
