West Africa, Mali, Djenne Culture, group of two terracotta vessels of globular form with turned lips and with light tan patina. Djenne is home to skilled artisans who create pottery, textiles, leather goods, and other crafts. The pottery of Djenne is particularly famous, with unique designs and techniques passed down through generations. size of tallest 4" H. Provenance: Collected prior to 2008, ex-Lacy Gallery (Vanna & Lee Lacy collection), Los Angeles CA. Lacy Gallery was founded upon six decades of collecting ethnographic and fine art. Lee Lacy was a distinguished Hollywood producer of iconic TV series and commercials.
